I had tweeted in Osaka yesterday:
“Police 2interrogate another DAP rep – Sel State Exco EanYongHianWah after Penang CM/DAP SG LimGuanEng. Sel CPO – what r u up to?”
In response, I got this snide remark from the Umno MP for Kota Belud, Rahman Dahlan in his retweet:
“Same old tactics LKS!”
This could mean many things but at present, I am only concerned about the Selangor Chief Police Officer, Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar, whom I had always thought as a solid and professional policeman, raising many questions.
Let me for the moment pose two:
Firstly, when did Malaysia’s police chiefs develop the “egg-shell skull” paranoia?
Secondly, would the police lodge a police report against Khalid for committing the offence of publishing “false news” under Printing Presses and Publications Act?
Any law student would have come across the eggshell skull rule, or the legal doctrine in tort and criminal law that holds a wrongdoer liable for all consequences resulting from his or her tort or crime leading to an injury to another person, even if the victim suffers an unusually high level of damage – even if a person had a skull as delicate as the shell of an egg.
Are Malaysians to believe that seasoned and toughened police chiefs in the country have suddenly developed egg-shell skulls that an unexceptional call by the DAP Selangor State Chairman and Selangor Exco member Ean Yong Hian Wah urging the police to cease their baseless investigation of Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for sedition on his speech at the Pakatan Rakyat national convention on December 19 about the mysterious death of Teoh Beng Hock could have an “intimidating” effect on the police?
Is this one consequence of the KPI/NKRA mania of the Najib administration?
If police chiefs in Malaysia have developed such egg-shell skull paranoia, how can Malaysians have confidence that the police can roll back the tide of endemic crime in the country, which has got worse in the past nine months since Datuk Seri Najib Razak became Prime Minister despite all the empty propaganda of the Home Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein about the country becoming a safer country?
Secondly, when Khalid said that Hian Wah had “directed”: the police to cease its investigations of Penang Chief Minister, he had in fact committed the offence of publishing false news under the Printing Presses and Publications Act, for Hian Wah never issued such a “directive” to the police.
Would the Attorney-General Tan Sri Gani Patail believe that Hian Wah could have issued such a directive? Hian Wah has clearly denied have done so.
Would the police lodge a police report against the Selangor CPO for committing the offence of publishing false news in connection with Hian Wah’s statement, which is an even more serious offence that the one Khalid is accusing Hian Wah. If the police is not going to lodge such a police report against Khalid, why not?
These two and many other questions arising from the highly questionable and unprofessional actions of Khalid in the past few days are the reasons why I had raised the question in my tweet:
“Sel CPO – what r u up to?”
Can Khalid respond?
Did the CPO enjoy immunity to court action like what has been enjoyed by the MACC officers? If no, then the CPO is also subject to the rule of MACC Act for alleged abuse of power due to making a false accusation on the innocent for wrongful purpose of obtaining personal gain in better job-related promotional opportunities.
Looks like a repeat of the Tan Hoon Cheng incident… Honestly, I think our police are craps. I don’t trust them at all.
It looks like our PDRM becoming more ‘Char Bor’ (hyper sensitive females no balls) behaving unbecoming as the law enforcers. Already failing in apprehending tough criminals, they take on a new role of ‘Char Bor’ which we tax payers did not pay them for that ‘degrading’ role in the first place.
C’mon, be a true blue polis man of respect and enforcer of law and justice!
(No offense to feminism)
Kit, if you are still in Osaka, pls make sure you visit Kyoto too, the old ancient capital of Japan.
There erare hundreds of United Nation World heritages in Kyoto. You may able to learn a thing or two how Japanese preserves their world heritages.
Of course, few months ago there was a change of Government in Japan, from LDP to DPJ. It is good for PR to learn to govern now. Learn from mistakes what DPJ had made so far.
The police force in Malaysia is made up of SPM rejects who cannot get entry into local universities. In terms of education their position is not so great. In this case they should improve their position by being neutral and citizen-friendly. They should carry out their duties as required in accordance with the constitutions. This will elevate their respect from the public. However the way they behave is definitely not inviting much respect from enlightened masses. Instead they become bullies to get attention. Please change your image through other friendly social behaviour. One way that I can suggest is that keep your mouth shut if you are not sure what to do.
Those police officers who have abused their official power by making false accusation on the innocent should be filed a lawsuit by the innocent in court for committing the offence of defamation. Those finger-pointing officers should be punished by court by a court judgement of requiring them to pay compensation of heavy liquidated damages and punitive damages to the innocent whom has been falsely accused by the Police Officers. A case-law precedent must be set by the court as soon as possible in order to impose checks-and-balances on the process of Police Officers’ exercising their executive power. In lieu of such a case-law, the police officers will tend to obessively and compulsively think that they are the mightiest powerful men in the world and they can do anything they like to do in the world so long as there is a handgun on hand and that they can frame up anybody whom they don’t like and whom they would like to get rid of from the political scene.
The police force of Malaysia are giving us more and more negative image which reflects a Nazi-like organization creating a lot of disgusting harrassment on the innocent people without good reason! There is no surprise that many Malaysian people nowadays have become the Police-hater who will never trust a policeman on the street!
can’t the pdrm just work as an independent body?…….are they comfortable to be called “anjing umno” by the rakyats?
it’s their job to find out who’s TBH’s killers…..not shoot the messenger again !!!
It is a dangerous game these few chosen UMNO BARU police leaders are playing.
I do not believe majority of the Police force.. support such leaders when matters goes out of hand.
Freedom is truly gone.
It is ….to them….UMNO BARU or else….kind of attitudes.
These are racists….loyal members of UMNO BARU…playing politics….protecting UMNO not Malaysians….more than anything else.
Why are they like that?
Find trouble…create some.
Yes….DAP politicians are high on their list to catch and jail them.
Real criminals can roam the city…with no fear.
We have daring snatch thieves on motor cycles…and car thieves at Subang Jaya…more than a year…no improvements.
I have never in my life…witnessed such clear double standards from chosen Police leaders.
Shame on them.
Malaysians will not be easily frightened …nor afraid to vote… UMNO out.
If Najib think this is working…so easy…declare snap 13th GE…and all truths will be revealed.
After all he said he has 62% Malaysian support…why wait?
Is he waiting for 92% support?
Khalid is showing off his “policing skill” to shore up his popularity so that he can take over IGP Musa Hassan’s place when the latter retires.
Could this be Najib’s postponed plan to take over the Penang Government after the unsuccessful plan to take over Selangor?
This Khalid is IGP material. Mark my words. He won’t get the top post if PR wins the 13th GE, so he might as well go all out – and shamelessly – to bodek his political masters. The word ‘shame’ is not in such people’s dictionary.
Yes. Yes. I know. I know. Egg-shell-skull. Yes the rule. The legal rule. The rule in the laws of tort. In the tort of negligence, to be exact. But lets leave that aside for a while, shall we. Let us put legal technicalities aside. Egg-shell-skull in actual fact could mean a very large brain or maybe a brain that is floating in excessive amount of fluid (mud?). I always thought those idiots have thick skulls and hence small brains. Well maybe compact brains. I dont know!
… taiking in his end-of-year gibber.
“Najib confident nation on correct path to success”, reports TheStar Online today (29 December 2009).
That’s good news for Pakatan Rakyat. The car is heading towards the wall and our driver is confident he is on the correct path, LOL.
maybe no brains?
It has all been reprogrammed with BTN GIGO gibberish.

The rakyat have lost faith and trust on our PDRM long time ago. They only listen and act from their masters in BN esp UMNO. See how efficient and daring they were when harrasing and beating opposition members.
This bum CPO is a clone of the current PIG oopps…. sorry IGP. PDRM will never ever change. The rakyat will be a lot of theatricals acts from this bum in future.
PDRM is an UMNO’s TOOL and PDRM is not OURS anymore. That’s it.All we need now is to be extra vigilant to where we go ,whom we talk to and what we want to talk about.Beware of spies, tiny unknown TV eyes and ears especially of the Umno’s pdrm.
If i were a criminal in M’sia at a time like this… do you know what I’d do?
I’d rob more, kill more, kidnap more, rape more etc etc… because I KNOW for a fact that the police won’t come after me.
(it pains & embarrasses me that i have to write out the following paragraph)
These crooked cops are too busy doing umno’s political biddings, harassing the opposition, cooking up allegations against the opposition, burying the truth, escorting umno VIPs to supermarket, taking bribes, extorting immigrants, harassing female tourists/students from China and the list goes on…
Yeah. They’re doing anything BUT fight crime… & we’re paying them to do just that!
& We wonder why our crime rate is getting out of control?
There is a theory going around that Musa Aman is about to be ‘retired’ and Khalid may or may not be in line to succeed him. The theory goes that Khalid feel the need to show he can do the job for UMNO/BN politicians he has not stood out to be bend the rules for UMNO/BN. At this juncture, UMNO/BN can’t take a chance with anyone that won’t go to extreme for them.
” If I were a criminal in M’sia at a time like this…I’d rob more, kill more kidnap more, rape more etc etc…because I know of a fact that the police won’t come after me ” …artemisios. Hi artemisios,it’s best that you become an Umnoputra first before you do all these evil things otherwise you will be C4 instantly by the police.
Hv all ketua mata-mata become Humpty Dumpty?
Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar is suffering from mad dog disease called Rabies. According to Wikipedia, the disease causes acute inflamation of the brain. Khalid is on the loose, a bite by him will be fatal. He is a menace to the public.
This mad dog is raised by UMNO and will bite anyone who says anything not pleasing to the ears of UMNOputras. So far, two DAP officials have been biten by this mad dog Khalid.
Organizations not aligned with with UMNO should not just stand by and keep quiet for you may be the next victim of this loose mad dog. A mad dog will attack if it hears only one or two persons telling him to get lost. However, when it hears voices coming from the masses it will run with tail between its legs.
So far there are few voices from many NGOs, what about the Bar Councils? And where are all the Sukaham commissioners? May be they affected by the intimitating effect of mad dog Khalid.
This could only happen when someone who is ‘not fit to be police chief’ being appointed as police chief
one word: IPCMC.
Our laws are topsy-turvy, if you can call that “laws”. “Flaw” is a more accurate rendition for our “undang-undang”. Selective prosecution is the order of the day. So let’s not blame Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar. After all, he needs to jaga his periuk nasi and the penguatkuasaan udang-udang negara. What I like most about our udang-udang is our udang karang, LOL.
CPO better spends some time 2 catch mata-mata who demanded $$$ fr innocent ppl wrongly locked up
http://www.kwongwah.com.my/news/2009/12/26/124.html
RM300 fr each locked up person to meet visitors
Shame, shame – this news, plus inhuman treatment, is widely circulated in China n other countries
