Dare Ministers from MCA, Gerakan, MIC and from the Sabah and Sarawak component BN parties put the rank racism, incitement and sedition in Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian totally subversive of Najib’s 1Malaysia slogan as the No. 1 agenda in Cabinet

Utusan Malaysia has joined Berita Minggu to come out with an article entitled Melayu jangan jadi bacul by Noor Azam which spouts unabashed rank racism, incitement and sedition totally subversive of the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s 1Malaysia slogan.

If any Chinese or Tamil newspaper had published an article of the same nature but replacing the rank Malay racism with rank Chinese or Tamil racism, there can be no doubt that not only the writer would have been instantly arrested by the police and charged for racist incitement and sedition but the newspaper concerned would have been banned immediately!

Is the Barisan Nasional government having one law for Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian while another law for Chinese and Tamil media publications?

Are the Ministers from MCA, Gerakan, MIC and from the Sabah and Sarawak component Barisan Nasional parties going to raise in the Cabinet tomorrow Noor Azam’s racist writing in Utusan Malaysia today – placing it as the No. 1 agenda in the Cabinet meeting tomorrow as otherwise all the talk of Najib about his administration’s new motto of “1Malaysia. People First. Performance Now” would have lost all credibility.

In fact, the Key Performance Index (KPI) Minister, Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon should ask the Cabinet to set clear indicators for Najib’s 1Malaysia concept – in taking stern action against media which incite racism and communalism regardless of what variety. Otherwise, what is the use of having KPIs?

Two Sundays ago, Zainul Arifin, the new editor-in-chief of Umno’s flagship newspaper group, the News Straits Times, in his article Kematian Teoh timbulkan pelbagai spekulasi politik, made the utterly irresponsible, abhorrent and baseless allegation against DAP and Pakatan Rakyat for harbouring the agenda to weaken Malay-controlled institutions like MACC in our campaign for justice for Teoh Beng Hock who died mysteriously at the MACC headquarters in Shah Alam on July 16, 2009.

Zainul Arifin could even be so irresponsible as to resort to blatant race-baiting as when he demanded of Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim: “Why does Selangor Menteri Besar, a Malay, doubt the ability of those of his own race to act fairly and sincerely?”

Not a single Umno leader condemned Zainur Arifin for spouting unadulterated communal poison demolishing Najib’s 1Malaysia concept. Equally unfortunate, not a single Minister from MCA, Gerakan, MIC, SUPP or the Sabah and Sarawak component Barisan Nasional parties dared to raise the issue in Cabinet to admonish Zainur and Berita Minggu.

Now there is another case of rank communal poison in Utusan Malaysia in the form of Noor Azam’s article today. Will there be any Malaysian and statesmanlike voice from the Umno leadership to condemn such rank communalism which is an open defiance and challenge to Najib’s call for a 1Malaysia?

When Umno’s two newspaper groups, Utusan Malaysia and New Straits Times, openly flout Najib’s 1Malaysia concept, how is the Prime Minister to convince all Malaysians that his Cabinet and administration are fully, sincerely and seriously committed to the 1Malaysia concept and that it is not just an empty slogan like his predecessor Tun Abdullah’s slogan of “Cemerlang, Gemilang and Terbilang” as the fifth Prime Minister of Malaysia?

Tomorrow’s Cabinet meeting has therefore shaped up into a major test of Najib’s 1Malaysia concept, whether it is to be proved wanting in less than 125 days of Najib’s premiership – which will be a very bad omen for the 52nd National Day celebrations on August 31 and the first National Day celebrations under Najib as Prime Minister.

  1. A political party such as BN which relies on fanning racial sentiments for its survival is unlikely to put subversive elements in Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian as the No. 1 agenda in Cabinet.

  2. All this while, the component parties leaders are “Hero Outside, Coward Inside”. Everybody knows abt it! There is no point for having them to represent us in the Cabinet! They just makan gaji buta!

  3. It will be ignored and the storm will pass … that is how it works in Malaysia! Hahahahahaaa … by the way LKS, are you asking DSAI to do something about that crazy ADUN in Kulim? No action taken huh?

  4. Is our PM taking any action? A double standard?

We, the moderate, peace-loving Malaysian citizens, want our PM to take stern actions on the unbecoming, racist and racial hatred-instigating recent remarks from the DPM and the racist, seditious reports from Utusan and Berita Harian.

These racist remarks by DPM, Utusan and Berita Harian are more offensive, more despicable, more damaging to our national unity and racial harmony than the recent peaceful street protest on ISA.

Dear PM, you should suspend them immediately, instruct the Police to detain them and charge them in court. If no action from you, PM, we can conclusively say you have double standard. What kind of 1Malaysia you are promoting? Double standard!

  5. Due to BN-UMNO half century racist policies, it is not surprising to see so many racist writers in the msm!!! Those who are not racist would have to get out of msm to survive!!!

  6. The component parties are cowards. They have too much interest in the coalition to say anything. They have too much to lose.
When I say “they have too much to lose”, most, if not all, know what i mean.

N those umno boys continue to turn everything into a racial issue.
They want majority of Malaysians (Malays) to go busy hating other races for no reason so that the Malays can’t find out corrupt umno politicians is stealing from them N keeping them poor.

Hypocrites. Keep saying for years you want to help the Malays, but turn around N steal from them. Now you want to channel the hatred to other races?

DO YOU REALLY THINK THE MALAYS WILL BELIEVE YOU?

Many parties have told you this before: The Malays are much smarter than you think. You have to realize that.

Every time one of your boys get caught being corrupt, you shout

“hey! don’t focus on our corrupt practices, focus on hating other races for no reason instead!!”

What fool will listen to you except yourselves?

  7. Cukup lah, 1Malaysia
    What nonsense is this?
We used to be 1Malaysia (a harmonious multiracial, multireligious, and multicultural society) in the 1950s to 1970s
Then Umno started to systematically divide/classify people and rule
Utusan Malaysia has always been blessed by Umno to fan and ensure the racial divide
What say you, MCA, MIC, Gerakan, etc?
Boss dah cakap, this is boss’ 1Malaysia, u diam diam saja

  8. Utusan and NST are owned by Umno. They may be regarded as Umno’s mouthpiece.

However, don’t get too worked up on this. The Malays are wiser now than to be led around by primal instincts of race by Umno. The game has changed, Umno hasn’t. Umno still wants the Malays to think that Umno = Malay as if all the Malays in the opposition do not exist or are traitors.

Desperate tactics by a desperate party in its death throes.

Why not? Just one proviso, though. When their master nod its head, they will go at it with gusto… but not until then. In the meantime, they are resting their tails between their hind legs and lying low.

  10. Artemisios says: “The component parties are cowards. They have too much interest in the coalition to say anything. They have too much to lose. When I say “they have too much to lose”, most, if not all, know what i mean. N those umno boys continue to turn everything into a racial issue.”

Well, at least these component parties know where they stand. They know they cannot survive on their own, so why not just seek shelter under UMNO’s umbrella. And if you slap them, kick them, tear their photos like in the case of Gerakan’s Koh Tsu Koon, they will still not go… just like a stray dog if you ever have one.

  11. UMNO and BN is going to lose the next general election if they don’t detain PR leaders under ISA. That means UMNO and BN leaders will be subject to investigation for corruptions, can they afford it? Will Awang Selamat wants to see Nasjib being charged for corruption?

  12. pas want restricted sales alcohol in area where majorities is malay.
how many percent? 99% muslim and 1% non -muslim ?
if not, pls reconsider the decision.
every counter @ beer shop got this tag said
    ‘alcohol is prohibited for muslim’.
if this muslim person keen want to buy, he still can go other place to buy or ask for non- muslim help.
no point to banned on selling because of small group of muslim may buy.
state government should send council to check often . or maybe ask to put cctv at counter. so authority can check tru cctv record

  13. PAS should not always come out the conclusion idea. we know alcohol is prohibited to muslim. but in state selangor is multiracial state. they should request state government to start campaign to let ppl know to drink lesser or quit alcohol because its will harm healthy. but not always scream ‘ banned alcohol ! banned who concert ! and bla bla

  14. Everyone who believes in a peaceful and harmonious nation will see this provocative article from Utusan as a poisonous pen from a writer whose mindset is already contaminated with racial hatred.

From here on, people have to be more vigilant. Who knows, dark forces from the Umno stronghold already have their troops out to track and monitor those who are considered to be against them.

Their goons are starting to stir up sh*t in the media they own to justify their end.

  15. Read this:

    http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/109868

What will LKS say about this? The rights of other races are being infringed. Here we are hammering PM’s 1Malaysia and then comes PAS happily waltzing in demanding that their religious beliefs are ‘imposed’ on others. Nice one PAS!!! Give BN more bullets. All useless people, totally useless. Wonder what happens when PR wins the next GE? I will be MAYHEM!!!

  16. That is privilege of being a Bumiputra newspaper. They can write anything about the pendatangs since they are above the law.
There are no TWO laws. UMNO has no law. Pendatangs must abde by the law.

The newspapers are sanctioned by UMNO to trigger another May 13. But sorry, this won’t work today.

  17. Dear All,

Indeed political parties under BN component have yet to mature above racial politics. Having said so, there are also instances where racially tinged comments were brought up by Pakatan component members. Racial politics has taken a very deep root in the Malaysian political landscape and changing the scenario to a racially free atmosphere is close to impossible. We have to reconcile with the fact that the system adopted in Malaysia for the last 51 years is heavilly tilted towards race and creed. We should not live in denial that everything can be changed overnight as the system adopted by our previous leaders does not easily allow us to do so. For example, we have vernacular school which in a way hinders the actual integration among Chinese, Malays and Indians. We can argue till the cow comes home but the fact remains i.e. Chinese boys and girls from the Chinese schools do not get mix with their Malay and Indian counterpart until they join secondary or even university level schools.

The racial harmony in Malaysia is punctured even further when you have UMNO leaders pitting the Chinese among the Malay and Malays against the Indian. This divide and rule political system has always been there since British rule but was further modified by UMNO. Challenging MCA, MIC and Gerakan to question UMNO will be construed as an act of defiant against UMNO and would not bode well in terms of repairing racial harmony in the country.

It is for Pakatan leaders now to come up with an alternative plan to quell and surpress the fast moving onslaught by UMNO, which apparently hitting hard and swift at Pakatan. The gameplan by UMNO is to drive a wedge into the Pakatan spanner hoping PAS will leave the pact under the so-called Malays unite under one umbrella.

Pakatan should get its movement registered so as to reflect real unity.

  18. The Barisan National Party is worse than the National Party in South Africa as it is controlled by the racist UMNO regime whose policies include apartheid. We need the help from United Nations to end apartheid in Malaysia.

  19. “The newspapers are sanctioned by UMNO to trigger another May 13. But sorry, this won’t work today.” – DAP Man

If it happens then its called Civil War … Chinese and Indians not involved la … heheheehehee

  20. I am very angry about utusan malaysia and berita harian publication which always playing fire with publishing extreme racist sedition issues. But all the writers and these newspaper companies are always safe. no actions will be taken against them. Even appreciation and praises will be given to them. What kind of 1st Malaysia Najib is talking about??? majority of the government agencies are practicing double standard.
And all the chinese components parties like MCA and Gerakan are always keep quite and acted cowardly in parliament. They are really cowards. I had waited so long to see them disappear in Malaysia politic. my wish is nearly realize. Now, MCA and Gerakan just have quite few parliamentary representatives and i look forward to make them have zero representative in coming general election.

  21. they have no balls to balk at their master…
if they dare to, i will chop off my balls and let OTK and KTK to braise soup ekor

i really cant tolerate and see those faces of MCA and GERAKAN… and what their youth division’s statement post 2 August.

MCA n GERAKAN, shut yout dog mouth up! stop pretending and issue non sensestatement! KAU ANJING LAGI MENANJINGKAN.

can someone create plate like “Dogs, MCAs and Gerakans are prohibited to enter” ?

  22. Even if all the mca, mic, gerakan candidates had lost in the GE, they will still be in the cabinet as umno-appointed senators. They are powerless puppets for show only, just like Pu Yi the “Emperor” of Manchukuo from 1931-1945.

  23. “But within PR we also have mad people”

You can never be more wrong. Everybody is mad except limkamput. Limkamput hears voices in his head of God telling him he is acting Prime Minister now that Najib has lost his sanity.

  24. Najib is playing a duality strategy.

On the one hand, he is trying to appear reasonable and a leader for all Malaysians.

On the other, he is allowing his propagandists to spout racial venoms to rally the Malays behind Umno, without any regard or respect to his other partners in the BN.

Those who have not seen his real true colour should realise now. You just cannot trust the Umnoputras and the Utusans.

Unfortunately, some in Selangor Pas are inclined to side with these racialists. Pakatan supporters must know who these Pas state leaders are and withdraw their support to these wolves in sheep clothes in the next election.

  25. The only ways to hurt these newspapers – Utusan Malaysia, Berita Harian and The Stars are :-

    a) Not to buy the papers
    b) Not to support and not to buy from those companies that advertised with these trash papers.

That would send a clear message to those companies because that would hurt both parties income – the papers will lose advertising revenue and the companies will not get sales because we will not buy their products.

    Please keep this in mind.

  26. For decades umno buggers used chinese as a whipping boy whenever they want malays in the country to unite for whatever reason (eg for election). Umno youths are real devils. Remember the pledge by someone to soak the keris in chinese blard (intentional misspelling) and the pledge to burn down the chinese assembly hall and chinatown (petaling street)? That attitude is still alive and kicking even today except that they are being manifested via the msm.

  27. HJ Angus :
Don’t blame the BN component parties too much lah.
It is called conditioning and they have been like that for years, just like Pavlov’s dog was conditioned when the bell was rung.
It would be interesting to see the Home Minister treats such the article that is clearly intended to stoke racial tensions.
    http://malaysiawatch4.blogspot.com/2009/08/malaysiakini-reports-on-utusans-keris.html

HjAngus … Malaysian one is SHOW RM then saliva drip.

  28. All the journalists of BN-controlled media should be ‘protected’ by the ISA, I take a leaf out of Syed Hamid’s book.

BH and Utusan are just like the false prophets described in the Bible, these false prophets and eunuchs will bring Malaysia to hell.

  29. Gerakan led by Kia Tsu Koon dare not participate in the ISA rally. They try to put up a show to submit a memorandum to the Agung. When they missed the protocol, they then pretend to withdraw from the rally.

Gerakan-very good movie makers. Should branch into movie making.

  30. Utusan should be closed down and the editors charged for sedition. If Najib is sincere about national unity, that is what he must do.

It another case of double standards by Najib. Just like he is playing with his words about what 1Malaysia means.
