Apologies demanded – Noh Omar for gangsterish conduct and Hishammuddin for racist/baseless insinuation

DAP Members of Parliament will censure the Deputy Education Minister Datuk Noh Omar in Parliament unless he apologises to the Selangor DAP State Chairman Au Yong Han Wah for his loutish and gangsterish conduct at the Education Ministry in Putrajaya yesterday.

Au Yong had accompanied Lim Kim Chung and his wife from Pandamaran, Klang to submit a memorandum to the Education Minister over the punching of their Remove Class daughter, Lim Nien Nie, 13, by her teacher at the Sekolah Menengah Raja Lumu, Pandamaran on Monday.

Noh Omar had acted in a way totally unbefitting and unbecoming of a Deputy Education Minister when he lost control of himself and created a public scene by abusing Au Yong and crumbling and throwing away the memorandum, which had to be picked up by his officer.

I am shocked by Noh Omar’s public misconduct, as I had thought that he would have mended from his previous ways of acting and behaving like a gangster when he was Deputy Internal Security Minister, as he had been assigned to the task of maintaining school discipline.

How could Noh Omar wipe out the menace of school gangsterism when he continues to act and behave like a gangster, setting the worst possible example to students — totally without a proper sense of the public behaviour expected not only of a government officer, but an elected official?

Noh Omar was creating a red herring when he accused the Selangor DAP of interfering in a school discipline matter, for Au Yong and the Selangor DAP officials were only carrying out their duties to the public when they were approached for assistance when the school authorities refused to take appropriate action against the teacher for the physical violence of punching the Remove Class student.

I am shocked that the Education Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein had given blanket approval for the loutish and gangsterish conduct of Noh Omar, even making racist and baseless insinuations that DAP leaders only take up cases involving one community.

Hishammuddin even asked why the DAP was never bothered about the death a few years back of Mohd Farid Ibrahim, the fourth-former at Sekolah Menengah Agama Dato Kelana Petra Maamor, Ampangan, Seremban who died after being assaulted by a group of seniors at the school hostel, openly suggesting that DAP leaders were racists and were not concerned about the plight of victims if they were Malays.

Hishammuddin was Education Minister when the killing of Mohd Farid took place at the religious school hostel and he should know that he was telling a lie when he said DAP leaders were unconcerned about the case.

I personally visited the Mohd Farid’s parents in their Seremban home over their son’s murder and I was in court during the murder trial.

Hishammuddin should apologise for making such a baseless and unwarranted allegation, which raises grave questions as to whether he sees himself as an Education Minister for all Malaysians who respects the viewpoints of all Malaysians regardless of race or whether he is above all else just a keris-wielding UMNO Youth leader.

  1. Remember always that elected officials are our servants and they must do their best to serve us. This act by En Noh Omar is very unbecoming of a Malay who are generally brought up by their parents well. Unless Malay has lost this part of their culture, or when they are totally stressed out in their work, they have been known to ‘mengamok’.

  2. All the BN MPs and minister (esp from UMNO) are gangsters and no brainers! We can see on their actions from the past…tsk tsk…how are we gonna hv first class Parliament?
They are the ones that are playing the racial cards all along.
Damn , Msia is indeed getting worse each day!

  3. Hey, teachers are humans and have feelings too! The 13-year old girl would had been raped and then slashed to death if she tried using vulgar words to the wrong people outside her school

    http://maverickysm.blogspot.com/2007/07/dilemma-of-school-teacher.html
…. The teacher scolded her for shouting and using vulgar words at another students. She responded to the teacher with the same “good” manners. Probably, she uses a far “stronger” words on the teacher in order to forward her point to sent clear signals to the teacher. The teacher received her point clearly and unambiguously. The message caused the teacher’s nerve to react instantaneously and caught her face. She called it “two punches”.

Deputy Education Minister Datuk Noh Omar immediately instructed the teacher to be suspended and advised the parents to engage a lawyer to sue the teacher if they so wished. Nien Nie’s father, Lim Kim Chung, 41, then lodged a police report.

  4. This is a disgraceful behaviour but it should not be a shock to anyone……there are plenty behaving in such a shameful and uncivilised manner.

Decades of bad of leadership and gross mismanagement of the country are the cause.

  5. I personally feel that Mr Lim Kim Chung and his wife be given 6 strokes of the rotan each publicly in Dataran Merdeka on 31.8.07 for failing to bring up his daughter properly. Deputy Education Minister Datuk Noh Omar should be invited to administer the rotan to them.

  6. I have heard many cases the quality of teachers in the public schools are suck.

Many of such teachers not only don’t know their subjects well, they are abusing and sexually harass our children too.

I am not a racist, but to tell you frankly, most of such teachers are Malays.

Go ask your kids to verify my statement!

  7. If the student is wrong, its the teacher’s job is to teach, failing which she should call the parents over and file a complaint against the student. Alternatively, the teacher can also suspend the student until the parents can effectively correct their child’s manners.

Getting carried away and punching the student is wrong. The teacher should have more self control, otherwise, she should be the one to be educated. This reflects on our education system and our Education Minister…being carried away by emotion and race, above all and not thinking rationally as a true leader for all the races. With an Education system like this, we will always have third world mentality because this is what our children are learning.

  8. They feel insecure maybe when they see the DAP coming forward to help so since the victim is Chinese, they have to create some kind of criticism against the DAP but sadly they chose to criticise by bring up the issue on RACE again….and again.

This again shows the shallow mindedness of our leaders in power who are so afraid of being seen as useless so they have to divert the controversy on something else.

It would be great if the DAP can list down and disclose in Parliment or in the Press all good deeds that it has done in helping the students / youths in this country especially those who’re non-Chinese so that everyone in the public will know who’s telling the truth and who’s just making baseless allegations.

  9. Majority in the cabinet are gangsters, no wonder our country is run like a gangster land. No laws and orders are required, every thing is run and done based on emotion, feeling, race and religion. No maths subject is required in Malaysia if they have their ways.

  10. This is an egg and chicken case.

First you have this kind of educational system and so you produce this kind of teacher and pupil. The correct way for the teacher is to bring this pupil to the disciplinary board for domestic enquiry and punish and correct the pupil’s behavior appropriately, and not to resort to violence as what happened. This is exactly what happened in our society at large to a recent case of a Korean student who was clubbed to death by our young men due to some minor dispute. There is a purpose for establishing schools and unfortunately due to the incompetence of our administration, we begin to lose track of determining what right or wrong is. Look at the behavior of the deputy minister who behaves like gangster also. Why can’t he behave more like a human being, accept the memo and sit down to express what he thought best. Obviously, this deputy minister came from a wrong school. He may be literate but absolutely not educated at all unfortunately.

Respect each other as a human being is the key, and this was a natural thing for those who came from the old school.

  11. My daughter attends a chinese school and the BM teacher practically gv the students answers for every exercise. How much teh students can absorb i dunno. Maybe a good time for them to extend tuition svc and earn extra RM.

  12. Normal for BN minister to react whenever Opposition party are defending a case for the public.
We all know NO wasn’t much of a public figure. He was considered lucky because he have supports from the top.
I still recalled about an incident that happens in one of the karaoke lounge in Summit USJ a few years back.
Anyway, it’s a political agenda that BN is charging back at Opposition. They will used all the tricks in their bags to push up racial issue to ‘warn’ the Malays and gained their votes in the coming GE.

  13. Close one eye, Sabah Bung, Klang Satay Man, Education Gangster and Kerisman should all be locked up in the zoo or better still, preserved in the museum for posterity for future generations to view them as examples of what they should NOT aspire to be.

  14. izrafeil could be right that Malays, in particulat the politicians, had lost part of the culture and the stress from their messy environment are causing mental illness.

Look at the face of politicians or people actively in politics with grey hairs and bold head at a very young age………it tells you a lot about enormous stress and mess they have to live with and face everyday.

This is the direct result of decades of bad leadership and governance of the country.

  15. I can liken Malaysia to a broken family whereby the father has no control over the children.
In this case the father is Pak Lah. He , being head of the family should see that the children(ministers) should know how to behave. When it is obvious that the children had done something wrong, he should reprimand or discipline them.
But it was not to be. Hishamuddin waving a keris threatening others and Pak Lah kept quiet. The UMNO shouted racist remarks in the assembly, he kept his big mouth shut. Then we have this idiotic ‘bocor’ mp who is grossly kurang ajar, Pak lah thought that he looked cute by keeping his elegant silent. Then we can see the number of apostate made to suffer under those religious officials. He,too kept quiet. Now we have this ‘al Capone’ minister, he too will keep quiet.

I am really disgusted by you, PAK LAH!!!

  16. Kerismuddin is shooting from the hip without even ordering an investigation over the matter. We may not know the whole story yet, but yet the manner in which the Minister and Deputy Minister reacted is totally uncalled for..

KL Dude is spot on when he mentioned
“They feel insecure maybe when they see the DAP coming forward and the victim is Chinese”
Diverting the issue by playing the race card is all they know..not constructive solution.

Next, the cliched and overused and loathsome statement they will make in the press will be “Opposition should not politicise the slapping issue”..then they will sweep the whole thing under the thickening carpet…
    Meanwhile,,over in Putrajaya
Pak Lah : Saya tak tau..

This is how public issues are handled in Malaysia
    Malaysia ..Apa pun boleh

  17. Everytime these ministers face the opposition they will panic and start accusing them as racists and looking for political mileage. Are they running out of ideas? They simply have no intellectual depths nor substance to argue or infer on any subject matter.Face them with material facts and proof to the rakyat their sincerity in solving any problems. They will certainly gain our respect and support.
They will never ever dare to hold public debates with the opposition.Even if they are Oxford graduates!WHY?
Because they are insincere, tells lies to cover their weaknesses and they know that the truth will always prevail.
By the way, good work uncle Kit for visiting Mohd Farid’s parents to express your condolences.I am sure you did it from your heart and not for political mileage because Hishammudin doesn’t even know that you went to court too.Neither did his men.Otherwise he would have been told and wouldn’t have just blabbed his big mouth.

  18. Both the Minister and deputy looks and bhve uncivilised really made me vomited when seeing his finger point in the Sin Chew this morning.
My God, do we need this type of Minister in the Education who try to teach the Malaysian student into gangsterism and mannersless bhvior ? im sure no one would say that it was wrong for the victim’s family to bring an opposition representative for handing a memorandom to the uncivilised Deputy Omar.
We practise democracy and human right man, why they scare to meet people, sensitive again ? [deleted] you are just a Coward !

  19. The Mudin Kris said The opposition raise that matters and politicised .Tell me, Krismudin, Is waving a Kris not a political game [deleted] we are all analytical voters and whatever you condemed the opposition is just like condemning yourself cos you hv not been behaving as what a Minister should behave ok?

  20. K1980 —-> BN/Government Lapdog!

    “Quote: k1980 Says:

I have the right to assault you if you provoked me with words?

Did the government bought your brain for 1 sen? Or you must be one of those students brought up by our incapable education system. Sad…

  21. Everything is now turned into racial issue which is becoming more and more pronounced as UMNO politician had openly doing it because they they are above the law, as can be seen in those fiery racial speeches during the last UMNO gen. If other races were to do the same thing all of them will be behind bars under ISA. They have already grown into a monster and they are ready to destroy all in the name of Melayu Keutamaan. There is practically no solution to stop them from steam-rolling us. They have everything under them, (thanks to our great founder of MCA), the army, the police, civil defence, immigration, the election commission, the get get judiciary, Bank Negara, Petronas, Padiberas; practically everything that a country needs and they already think that without the Chinese they can survive. The way they are pushing us to the cliff is already the indication. I do not see any way out or any alternative right now, the ballot boxes which are totally control by them will not help much either.

Coming to the gist of this matter, we must admit that the DAP is perceived as helping the Chinese more. Looking at a wider spectrum I must reiterate as I had said before in this blog that UMNO is the creator of all this. They are the devil and they want to make you the sinner. Gerakan is suppose to be a multi racial party and like DAP, they are also facing a lot of challenges as they are also perceived as a Chinese party but being in the same bed with them, Gerakan have the opportunity to satisfy the Big brother and hence get treated like a wife who sometimes also get bashed up.

Secondly , what are the chances of DAP having an opportunity to help the Malays. There will be so many competing,( MCA, MIC, Gerakan and other component parties) to help the Bumis and even then they have very little chance because big brother is there. Except for exceptional cases where UMNO politician is involved with their own kind, eg the case in Melaka where Lim Guan Eng landed himself in jail. Otherwise DAP can only queue up and wait if they want to help a Bumi.

Thirdly most Chinese when having problem will seek DAP’s help because many think that MCA or Gerakan will behave like chicken when confronted by UMNO or for that mater even by some high ranking Malay civil servants. This had happen many times and a good example is that MCA (including MIC and Gerakan) has to obediently retract the memo send to the PM for appeal regarding the inter faith issue.

There is no doubt that DAP wants to be a multi-racial party for a better political standing but the politics played by UMNO and the spin off circumstances do not allow any party that aspire to be multi racial to do so.

  22. In other matured and sensible governments this gangsta would either ( or all)

    1. Get an official reprimand
    2. Get the sack
    3. Provide a public apology for conduct unbecoming

and reposted to a more appropriate post like manager of the schools’ toilets….

  23. I see this Noh Omar Deputy Edu Minister and many others like him as typical low-life UMNO politicians, when at their best, they are 3rd grade politicians, at their worst, scum not better than the less intelligent Mat Rempits (I trust there must be some, however few, balanced Mat Rempits). Taking it further, this proves that such politicians cannot take the stress when there are parallel pressures from some other area, in the case of Noh Omar, maybe he’s trying very hard (without any hint of success so far), to secure safe arrangements in connection with his brother’s dadah trafficking case to avoid the mandatory consequence.

On the Educ Minister, I am of the view that whenever the matter of race is raised in response to DAP public service highlights, it only serves to put themselves another rung down in their suitability as candidates in the coming election. So, they should be encouraged to make more noises along racial lines, and sway the fence-sitting non-Malay votes in the right direction – away from the BN/MCA/Gerakan. As for the MIC, I think they are doing well enough themselves to diminish their own prospects after their “high” in Ijok.

  24. way to go k1980. A teacher will never strike a 13 years old girl in school if that girl is not “kurang ajar”. Students now are mostly “”kurang ajar” . I believes that no teacher will react the way it is if not for a “kurang ajar” girl. ….

  25. Once upon I heard a Barisan leader talking about a rotten fish head story……. that is if the fish head starts to rot what happen to the rest of the fish… This is happening in our government…. the big fish head is rotting…….

  26. zack,

if going by your standard, how should we treat a kurang ajar umno minister……..huh?

slap him? kick him?…… these people are religious since born, you know…should use kindness, compassion like the buddhist monks, not tit for tat to teach a 13 year old girl, not violence.

how if the reverse way, DAP in power and opposition Umno members treated that way? how would you say…be reasonable.

think think, pakai otak sikit! although i don’t think you can… but i hope you speak to some learned priests or monks.

  27. k1980, Zack, the girl swore, that reflects on 1. poor up bringing 2. she could also have been really mad at the teacher, we will need more students to speak up about the incident before we make conclusions like that.

given your arguments that most students is “kurang ajar” now a days, do you for a moment reflect that she is only 13, and and how old is that teacher?, is that a male teacher?

the thing is that this article about the nor and hishamuddin’s unbecoming behaviour and racial slur, that seriously is uncall for. they both are an adult of distiction, a peoples’ representative and a parlimentarian, and for this kind of outbust, to us, it really reflects on thier kurang ajar upbringing, I am sure sham’s father would be ashame.

  28. K1980,you must get the facts right before u mengamok in this blog. The student did not use any vulgar language as you alleged. She just raised her voice in retaliation for the teacher’s unreasonable scolding. Please read the details as posted in Sin Chew Jit Poh.(I doubt u can read it).About the deputy minister of “EDUCATION”,I think it is very shameful to have such ‘liao’ to sit in the cabinet. His boss the notorious keris wielding chap is another misfit. Why of all the people, such stuff were given the task to lead the “EDUCATION” portfolio? No wonder,Malaysia now is full of gangsters, knives and parang wielding robbers, snatch thieves, pirated and pornographic VCD vendors, cheats, road bullies, corrupted government officers, and all sorts of criminals.Just ponder, who head and run the ministry that mould the characters of young people? That fat bum at one time told foreignors to go home if they were not happy here. But he was so thick skinned to deny what he said so as to save his face. The same chap is related to a sibling who was caught for drug trafficking recently.Betul, betul malu.

  29. Shouting, finger pointing, sheer rudeness, throwing away memorandum given to him just prove that the guy is a great gangster. How can he shoulder the responsiblity of a cabinet minister? The top fellow is still keeping it mum.OMG.

This chap is also very arrogant. You know what he said to AuYong.the Selangor Dap chief.”who are you?”.This shows that he does not know human right and basic courtesy. How can he lead the ministry that is also in charge of school teachers?Basic courtesy is to respect others and to treat others as equal. But in this unhealthy society,it is quite hard for some stupid people to practise courtesy when they carry their stupid titles around.Just look at the two ‘bocor’ monkeys and also many others including the Klang fellow, the Jerai fellow and now the EDUCATION fellows.

  30. Gangsterism and racism of our ministers and political leaders? How surprising is that? I put to you that its not what is really worrying. What is worrying is that the gangsterish and racist behaviour betrays MEDIOCRITY. That is right, its their mediocrity that is intolerable above and far.

The overwhelming authorities of our ministers and political leaders means that THEIR MEDIOCRITY LIMITS ALL OF US. The price of their mediocrity is paid by all of us daily and in the long term, disastrous. The sooner the mediocrity is removed, the less harm they do to all of us.

The noise of morality may play better with the unintelligent and uncritical masses, but the smart ones know that the reality of mediocrity is much much more scarier.

  31. I think Kit need to provide some details to what had actually happened in that school that day. Yes, Sin Chiu had a detailed article about the incident.

I dun think Malay and English newspapers carried much details at all.

  32. The BN Govt must have ran out of candidates for minister posts. Noh Omar, the Deputy Minister of Education is a bleddy joke and a great shame! How can he be holding such a post, one that rightly, should lead by example?

What we’ve got here is a samseng, uncouthed and uncivilised ! He is a shame to the country.

Wake up Mr Prime Minister, do something about it, don’t just sleep and get “buta gaji” !

  33. The red dot in the south is laughing at the poor Malaysians for being led by a bunch of racists cum gangsters. How not to lose out to others when we have leaders who cannot differentiate the right and the wrong for 50 years?Isn’t it pitiful, fellow Malaysians?

  34. [deleted]

And oh, pls forward this article to everyone we know. Only with more rakyat being informed of what is happening will they wake up ! Highlight all relevant issues to your frens and families. Tell them it is us who decide who governs us.

[deleted] Change it !!!! Any alternative party is better than the current one !

  35. First thing first. As people in a teaching capacity whether you are an excellent worker or otherwise, we are called to be…uh mmm…professional…
When we enter a court, we know that stories must be told from both parties. The student and the teacher.
So the student has told her story not in front of the court but in front of all the reporters.
Let us be fair. Where is the missing teacher ?

Ok let’s change direction a little bit here. Do you all notice that lately people have been charging right to the top; like this student charging to the politicians and the press ? Turn the angle a little bit, the crying mother charging to see the lady Datuk who appeared in front of all the cameras and a photo showing a beautiful little girl missing and later to find out the same lady being arrested together with her lover. Do you politicians feel that you are being made fools of ? Do you all think that the public has lost trust in the delivery system that they know only one way. Charge to the top with the help of the mass media. Well it is good rating for the mass media. But it is very unhealthy for the politicians of all parties and for the government.

  36. What you expect when Nor Omar and his convicted brother come from same mother in drug trafficking??

Kerismuddin is of inmatured and childish brain!!

All these two persons are from same UMNO party!!

  37. zack,
I think you are more than the Talibans! The Talibans used to whack women like cows you know. Thin you belong to that class.
In a civilised society, even though the small girl is kurang ajar(I agree to your assumption), no caning is allowed on school girls. Not even the HM has the auhtority to do so.

  38. Next time I hope when someone think you ar ekurang ajar, zack, then I hope he proceed to bash you up. After all a 13 yr old girl also get punched twice and you applaud. As a grown up man show your bola and applaud your self getting whacked with golf sticks like that Korean student.

A wise man once said, before you open your mouth make sure that what you have to say is better than your silence. Understand?
