Frankly, if Muslims are to attack Hudud, I personally feel, they are better of attacking the entire Islamic State model itself or at the very least PAS’s current and proposed government.
The fact of the matter PAS is NOT a success in government even though they have ruled for a long time in Kelantan. They have always argued that UMNO/BN is successful only because they waste money and abuse their power but even if that is truth, the truth is PAS DOES NOT OFFER an alternative government that can be successful. The fact is even if they take Putrajaya, they won’t be successful, they can’t do better than UMNO/BN – Maybe they don’t do worst, maybe not but just because they will be less corrupted, at least initially, they won’t be more successful.
They simply are NOT competent technocrats. They simply are not problem solvers. Truth is when it comes to governance, Lee Kuan Yew proved it he knows far better – “Churchmen, lay preachers, priests, monks, Muslim theologians, all those who claim divine sanction and holy insights, take off your clerical robes before you take on anything economic or political..”
If PAS, as is, could not make Kelantan or other places they have tried, a success, they can’t do it either at national level. Not when they are so irrelevant, not when they hang on to their excuses and cover of their religion when its time to perform.
I think Najib is being smart on hudud. He is even smarter to bring in the hudud issue at this particular time – it detracts from the 1MDB issue. See, no one talking about the 1MDB now. Don’t get distracted – the 1MDB shenanigan must be kept alive.
Typo in your title Admin : Divine, not Divide…
