Confirmed – no Najib 100-day honeymoon as new PM after “Altantuya ban”

Confirmed – there is going to be no 100-day political honeymoon for Datuk Seri Najib Razak when he takes over as the sixth Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The outrageous, arbitrary, high-handed and indefensible ban on mention of the C4 murder victim, Mongolian woman Altantuya Shariibuu in the three by-elections of Bukit Gantang, Bukit Selambau and Batang Ai has shattered whatever political honeymoon Najib might have enjoyed as the new Prime Minister – however shortened and truncated from the conventional first 100 days normally extended to all new office holders.

Even before his ascension as the next Prime Minister, Najib is already blamed for quickly transforming the political atmosphere in the country – from a sunny one five years five months ago when Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi took over the premiership, promising an era of openness, greater democracy, accountability and integrity (unfortunately remaining unfulfilled) to an increasingly gloomy and darkening political landscape day-by-day with the impending Najib takeover, coupled with grave concerns about his suitability, integrity and legitimacy as Prime Minister.

At the media conference at the end of the Umno General Assembly where he was elected Umno President uncontested, in response to a press question about concerns that he would crack down on media and civil liberties, Najib said:

“Why did you form such a judgment about me? This is not fair. You are pre-judging me even before I take office. Please judge me by my actions. Give me the chance to take office.”

Although Najib has not officially taken over as the new Prime Minister, he had effectively exercised the powers of the Prime Minister in the past two months, with Abdullah increasingly a PM only in name but not in fact.

This was why it was Najib and not Abdullah who was blamed for the spate of repression in the past two months, whether the unethical, undemocratic, illegal and unconstitutional power grab in Perak orchestrated by Najib; the DAP National Chairman Karpal Singh charged in court with sedition; the one-year suspension of DAP MP for Puchong, Gobind Singh Deo without parliamentary pay and privileges; the three-month suspension of Harakah and Suara Keadilan; Police and MACC harassing the Perak State Assembly Speaker and Perak State Assembly members; the arrest of DAP Perak State Assemblyman for Tebing Tinggi Ong Boon Piaw for producing the “Democracy Tree” DVD; and now the Home Minister, Datuk Seri Hamid Albar’s ban on bringing up the Altantuya case and Perak Sultan decision on the Perak constitutional crisis in the three by-elections.

However, Najib and Hamid could not have made a bigger mistake – for by banning the mention of “Altantuya Shariibuu” in the three by-elections, they have created a hurricane of outrage which is giving the serious allegations hounding and haunting Najib about his role in the murder case of the Mongolian woman even greater publicity, currency and potency.

If the enemies of Najib want to find a way to further electrify the issue by securing an even higher national and international profile to the serious allegations about Najib’s role in the Altantuya Sharriibuu C4 murder case, it will be difficult to think of another more successful gambit as to impose a police ban to prohibit and outlaw any mention of “Altantuya Shariibuu” – as public outrage at the ban will guarantee that it become a really incandescent issue!

  1. Indonesia is having its general elections and Presidential elections currently. Their election rallies and campaigns are just awesome with lots of action with entertainment thrown in.

Our election campaigns are a joke – can’t do this, can’t say that, go to bed by 11pm, only ceramahs in enclosed places allowed, must have permit for this and that etc etc, and we call ourselves a “democracy”. No wonder the Indonesian workers here are laughing at us behind our backs.

  2. Najib has given himself some wriggle room by repeated saying, quote “I had never met the Mongolian woman.” unquote.

What he has not categorically said is “I had never met ALTANTUYA SHARIIBUU”.

Would he dare swear in Parliament or the mosque that he has never met THAT “Altantuya Shariibuu” because there are millions of Mongolian women.

  3. who is he to ban us from saying whaever we wan. d***it.

he is just a spoiled child of 2nd PM, besides that, he has nothing special.

still remember him saying that : it’s wrong to teach the gomen a lesson in front of a media interview pre 308.

najiiss, u r not the gomen, u r the governing party, fatty ye sai zhou!

  4. Did Najib not say he wants to change the Govt. (he means UMNO lah) to one that people favours? And the recent acts, viz, banning Gobind Deo, not allowing discussions on Altantuya, the Perak Sultan, arresting a DAP officer over a DVD produced about the Freedom Tree, etc, … how do such actions get people to love and cherish the Govt.? These UMNO morons are pathetic and they are our leaders? They embarrass me and shame me whenever I am overseas and people find out I am Malaysian.

  5. And Rosie’s reply to YB Kit:

No need for honeymoon lah. Now I have the brand new Airbus A319 to use for my shopping trips. No longer would I have the need to hijack embassy vehicles to cart away my stuff.

  6. next thing you’ll know there’ll be a major ban – no mention of altantuya at all where our coming PM is concerned… not only at the by-elections i mean but at total ban through-out the country… nobody should raise the name of altantuya in connection with najib… even in blogs (this means die for me. cannot do so. just did two recently). those who did, will be ISAed. after all he is the BIG man already, so what he said goes.

  7. This is exactly what Najib wants..that the issues grow with the heat….making Malaysians unbearable and take to the streets.
But I have full confident PR will know what to do.
By doing nothing right now……lets observe how Malaysians vote in the 3 by-elections.
UMNO love to play on the race issues and depend on Malays not to think like Malaysians…but Malay Malaysians that are above all other Malaysians.
Clearly to divide and rule is what UMNO was and still is.
Do Malaysians love this out-dated politics…copied wholesale from the British..which the British itself.. have throw that barbaric politics…out… long long ago.
    Do we support barbarian politicians?

  8. When Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou was accused of having gay sex with an American male artist, Ma Ying-jeou just laughed it off. This is the “natural response” of someone who really did not commit the wrong deed.

However, we do not see this kind of “natural response” from Najis in regard to his alleged involvement in Altantuya’s case. On the contrary, the action taken by Najis and Hamid – Altantuya ban – lends greater credence to public belief that Najis had a role in the Altantuya murder case.

Kit, I fully concur with you that Abdullah, despite his weak leadership, is a more decent person than Najis.

  9. Taiwan president was alledged to have engaged in gay sex? Wow. Obviously the agricultural trip by our bbc last year was a knowledge exchange programme between Chen’s men and umno bbc (mca and the rest are too insignificant to play any meaninful role in bn).

About the stupid ban on any mention of the mongolian woman. Outright stupid and senseless. The ban is as good as highlighting the matter. Doesnt that botak idiot know this? But a thought struck me. Maybe he does. And he is doing it for a purpose. To bring pressure to bear on najib. Oi najib. Dont trust syed botak. He is not a friend. He is a foe. Your foe.

  11. Is the ban cover the blogsphere as well?

Najib is getting desperate to distance himself from AS.. The Woman who was C4 into pieces. Can we mention AS instead of the full name.

When are about AS in this video, his eyes movement indicate something, so go learn about NLP and how it can be used to detect when someone is lying..

    http://shiokguy.blogspot.com/2009/03/use-nlp-and-judge-if-najib-lies.html

Have fun! I have applied the method on my friend.. it is so so cool!

  12. All focus have placed on this man. There is one important issue that many have forgotten to address and discuss on this man who “destiny” to be next PM. The old hat has commented before ie this man was scared of his wife you know what I mean. For the first Bolehland will achieved another first in the next few more hours ie Bolehland to have a first female PM surrogate in a man body. Please do not forgot that this man is very much control by a big mama. She the one who will dictate and rule not him. This will be the repeat of another “rule behind the curtain” . Every thing should be ok but can any one have good thing to talk a bout this big mama???

So be very careful, this can say something on the day but after the night fall he can change totally after the ” cit cit” on his ears. This was the most danger that all citizen of the bolehland to face.

Good luck and enjoy when our show of “Rule behind the Sorong “come to our shore, the new version of Rule Behind the Curtain of the China history.

  13. When all the world press are writing about the latest on the Altantuya,s issue, No main stream Media dare report it. Even the New York Times had written on it.
Sweep everything under the carpet.Keep quite soon all will be forgotten. Just like the LINGAM TAPE, Like Port Dickson.

  14. Altantuya talk ban as it’s lingering in the court,Anwar sodomy case too pending in court but no ban,why this double standard ?.Like I said before,NR is applying TDM’s dirty tactics.Operation lalang3 will be next pretty soon maybe after umno/bn resounding defeat in the coming three by elections. So be careful you good guys .

  15. “Altantuya’s ghost, I implored you to win this for Malaysians !!!!”
    jules

lets not get carried away. whilst the manner in which
altantuya passed away was indeed shocking
and regretable there is nothing saintly about her.
if reports are true that she was to have received
500 000 “commision” then she can also be deemed
to have abetting corruption here. what has a mongolian
got to do with malaysian defense purchases anyway.
the bottom line is this, she is no saint.

  16. she is no saint
    everything is relative.

if reports are true that she was to have received
500 000 “commision” then she can also be deemed
    to have abetting corruption here

If reports are true, then on what grounds, your honour? If you one day help LKS buy an aircraft carrier for a commission of 500 000 are you corrupt? Perhaps that’s the ‘market price’. How many traders are there in the Putrajaya wet-market with submarines on their stalls?

What has a mongolian got to do
She is described as an ‘interpreter’, among other things. How good is Baginda at European languages? I realise there are reports that he has been awarded France’s Lesion D’OnHer, but does he speak French?

    the bottom line is this
It wouldn’t matter in the slightest if she was a lifelong anal-specialist crack whore who was blackmailing someone to pay for pokok demokrasi DVDs. She didn’t deserve her fate any more than you would.

  17. Uncle Kit,

for once, in welcoming Najib as our PM tomorrow, you should focus on commonality aspects rather than on small differences. Do it for the sake of rakyat and nation, set a meeting with Najib to discuss the issues on the world economic problem and unity between races in Malaysia

If you step in with prejudice ideas from the start, you will get prejudice answers. we do not want until at one stage, even if lightning strike you ( god forbid ) you will still blame Najib…

  18. najis, why not you appoint toyol as our FM in your new cabinet?

he is very clean,we cant find any corruption evidence on him, even we read NSTP ,Utusan n BH,the BALKIS hot topic seems to disappear!

So,the new whole cabinet will travel to Disneyland,Paris again, how much does he need is not an issue,BECOS THESE ARE RAKYAT,SHALL I SAY,STUPID RAKYAT’s MONEY!

more and more ppl are sickening with UMNO becos most of the leaders are morons, they are very expert in corruption, racial and religion’s issues,on the other hand, they never fail to enjoy the lifestyles of rich and famous!

no wonder thy want ro regain certain states’ power by hook or by crook,by dirty tactics,to enable them to go to Disneyland every year!

  19. Listen to his 1Malaysia concept – mutual respect and trust. Its pretentious conceptual leapfrogging with not much leg to stand on. Nothing different than things he has cooked up before like Glocal – sounds wonderful but pie in the sky with no real idea on how it comes about. What is his basis of Oneness? Universal values which Islam and Malay-hegemony is against – how do you resolve that? He has the answer that that the Messiah and Muhammad failed to do?

The man lack of real vision really shows when he goes this way. Trying to be something he just isn’t. Its all full of crap all his cooking up of terminology and brands that would not have left the crappiest advertising agencies.

  20. Maybe Najis should even ban all computer keyboards. Why? Just look at the keys next to the space bar on the left and right. What is written there? The words ALT, the first three letters of the name ALTANTUYA! Bet Najis would feel uneasy when he starts to work on his computer and looks at his keyboard!!!!

  21. Can you imagine a debate against UMNO and they give the conditions cannot speak this…cannot speak that?
In the name of protecting peace for selective races…and not Malaysians. Even the cunningest of all..they call the Messiah have forgotten who undemocratic UMNO BARU is…lending a helping hand now…..so friendly…all forgotten and forgiven as Najib must have assured……no criminal actions will be taken against him and his family.
All these are signs of desperate corrupted actors..trying to save each other.

  22. Perhaps Najis did not ask Botak to ban Altantuya. Botak lost the UMNO election and thought the best way to payback those who ‘sabo’ him was to throw Altantuya into the limelight so that Najis is aware that he, BOTAK HEAD, is still a Napaleon to be reckoned with. But as with all Botak’s devious plans, he is way off the mark and is now fast becoming even a leper in his own camp.
To retract his announcement now would be a slap to UMNO. But with all Malaysians furiously ‘not’ mentioning Altantuya openly, BN is now in deeper sh*t facing the 3 by-elections as Botak has singlehandedly offer new ammunition to their enemies.
So lets all fire and C4 away!

  23. Botak have no balls nor brain.
He is a like a tape recorder..with his voice speaking out…but actually. taking instructions from all the PMs.
That’s why he lasted so long….a true hypocrite.
This is Najib’s idea…..now backed fired!
He will be the sacrificial lamb…….like Samy Vellu by Dollah….to win votes. Will it work in 13th GE??
Both BOTAKS are out-dated dumb dumb ministers.
Because one can write love poems..best balls carrier the world have ever seen…..and the other…dare to stick his neck out for UMNO….. this UMNO botak has his last days…..sure to be replaced.
That’s how UMNO try to win votes…sack few..to please Malaysians and continue to fool and control… one race.
How many times have anyone heard UMNO ministers say the word.
    Malaysians”??
It is always this race …that race or “fair to all races” ..kind of speeches and mentalities…..yet they deny they are racialists.
How much more proofs does the UMNO members need to know….UMNO intends to divide and rule.
Then there are Bugus…Menangkabau…Arab decendants…Sundanese…Javanese…and many many more grouped to be Malays. Soeharto was ousted because he favoured Javanese..his own race…plus feeding the police and military to strengthen his Dictatorship.
Indonesians learned and advance forward 10 years ago.
Now everyone is proud to be Indonesians….especially the minorities.
Here UMNO keep talking race and worst of all….no freedom for his own race to choose a religion.
    52 years..accepted…must be so.
Now space age era…still the same.
    You think this is freedom??

  24. Procedure adopted is that outgoing PM would seek Yang di Pertuan Agong’s consent to resign as PM and be replaced by existing UMNO president.

Whilst constitutional formula for eligibility to be PM is a command of majority of Dewan Rakyat, how is this determined without prior majority vote of confidence in the Lower House? Surely not based on the outgoing word of existing PM alone!

It has always been assumed by convention that the leader of dominant party like UMNO within majority coalition will satisfy constitutional eligibility requirements of commanding majority confidence in Dewan Rakyat.

This convention and – assumption – has ordinarily proceeded upon premises that the majority coalition (BN) commanded two third majority or more in Dewan Rakyat, premises that are no longer applicable today (after last year’s GE!)

Isn’t it proper then that under, these extra-ordinary circumstances, the in-coming PM should now procure a motion of confidence to be put to a vote in the Lower House to dispel all doubts and misgivings regarding whether constitutional eligibility requirements for PM post have been satisfied?

  25. We can C 4 oursleves the current most powerful Umno lineup has at least two well known racists who, on more than one occasion, had raised and waved unsheathed keris and demanded that the keris be stained with the blood of non-Malay citizens. This is historical fact and no water or perfume will ever sanitise them!

What future do we have under this powerful Umno team?

Just read about the recent confessions: “Khir Toyo’s Disney tours cost more than RM1 million” and “Perbadanan Nasional Selangor Berhad (PNSB) chief executive officer Khairiyah Abu Hassan today admitted Balkis had misused funds” – a tiny tip of the humongous Umnoputras-walloping-rakyat’s-money iceberg.

Toyol, only a very recent Indon pendatang masquarading as Malay and Bumi and blatantly siphoning off a huge, huge chunk of the rakyat’s money for his and his family’s luxurious lifestyle, and his wife are typical Umnoputras who enrich themselves under Umnoputras’ sense of NEP. Toyol came from another country and robs the truly deserving economically disadvantaged Malay Malaysians of money and opportunities to move up the social ladder, and Umnoputras blatantly blame the non-Malays for the so-called failure of NEP.

For every Toyol and wife, there are thousands (Note: We have 13 states and 3 wilayah persekutuan; and if, conservatively, there are 100 thieves per state or WP, we easily have 16 x 100 = 1,600 thieves coreking our money; surely, there are more than 100 per state or WP coreking) of similar money-sucking Umnoputra and BN thieves, corek, corek, corek.

With RM6 billion or more on offer and all the power of the nation concentrated only with the executives, happy times are here again for Umnoputras and their cronies. MCA, MIC, Gerakan, etc happily agree too!

Sadly there are still rakyat who believe in the BN and give them permission to enjoy, without limits, the wealth of the nation. Blame siapa?

  26. Commission my foot. Its corruption by another name and it stinks to the same extent and degree. In this country official corruption is always given a legal dressing and outward appearance. They are known as commission payment for services rendered. The services rendered are really unnecessary. Anyone doesnt know this?

BTW Altantuya is dead isnt she?

  27. regarding the pathetic “ban” by the police
all PR needs to do is get someone in the
crowd to ask about atantuya. then PR
being a responsible party must answer.
(assuming that PR is indeed responsible)
who the … hell do the police think they
    are? people cannot speak?
