New “MAHATHIR” prophecy on the next line of Malaysian Prime Ministers?

Making the rounds of the grapevine of Umno delegates and observers at the current Umno General Assembly is talk of a new political prophecy to replace the “RAHMAN” political prophecy on the first six Prime Ministers of the country – the “MAHATHIR” prophecy on the next line of Malaysian Prime Ministers.

Umno delegates and observers expect the RAHMAN prophecy to be fulfilled completely when Abdullah Ahmad Badawi relinquishes the premiership and Najib Razak is sworn in as the new Prime Minister.

But for the first time in Malaysian history, the popularity of the incoming Prime Minister is so dismal that even those who had earlier demanded the early departure of Abdullah from Putrajaya because of his failure to deliver on his host of reform pledges will find it a relief if Abdullah remains to block Najib’s ascension.

I do not see this scenario being played out but it is a most significant political phenomenon that many Malaysians, transcending the political divide, are wondering whether there is any way to stop Najib from becoming Prime Minister until he comes clean on the many serious swirling allegations haunting and hounding him affecting his suitability, integrity and legitimacy as Prime Minister and the honour of the highest political office in the land and that of the nation.

Those succumbing to the new MAHATHIR prophecy have no doubt that the RAHMAN prophecy will be vindicated with Najib as the sixth Prime Minister, after Tunku Abdul Rahman, Abdul Razak, Hussein Onn, Mahathir Mohamad and Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

According to the MAHATHIR prophecy, the new line of Prime Ministers after Najib will be led off by the newly elected Umno Deputy President Muhyiddin Yassin (M), followed by the two Vice Presidents with the highest votes, Ahmad Zahid (A) and Hishammuddin Hussein (H).

A second’s thought will show that the new-fangled MAHATHIR prophecy is just bunkum.

Many expect the RAHMAN prophecy to signify the end of the line of Umno Prime Ministers marking the end of Umno hegemony and government – with Najib as the last and even shortest-serving Umno Prime Minister.

Even if Najib can prove this wrong, age will rule out the possibility that Muhyiddin or even Ahmad Zahid succeeding Najib as Prime Minister.

Tunku Abdul Rahman deserves a prophecy in his name – but not Mahathir!

  1. Need we waste our time on this stupid prophecies? This RAHMAN thing is just a co-incidence. I would say it is unIslamic to base the future on things like this.
Some PM are based in their first name and some second name. Let’s move on and look at Malaysia without UMNO.

  2. Stupid prophecies?!
    Don’t underestimate prophecy.

RM proclaimed that what God decided, no mortal can undo. And this week we saw that the prophecy that RM’s husband is destined to be Malaysia’s PM is almost coming to a reality. By next week both RM and husband will ascend their thrones, and this is no April Fool’s Day hoax.

RM, the lady who sometimes may be mistaken for Ringgit Malaysia, will finally be the first lady. And that too, as she herself had proclaimed, was the will of God. Takdir.

Shall we greet the soon-to-be first lady with Daulat Tuanku?

  3. When Dr. Mahathir was Prime Minister of Malaysia

One lousy day in the middle of the economic crisis, PM Mahathir was feeling extremely frustrated and wondering how a neighboring country can be doing better than Malaysia .

One of his aides said, I heard that the leaders consult Feng Shui masters to ensure prosperity for the country. Dr Mahathir thought if that was the case, Malaysia Bomoh also can, and went to seek the top bomoh’s advice in the country.

After reviewing the case, the bomoh told Dr M that there were 2 things that he must do:

Bomoh: Step 1. You must blame the crisis on SOROS for everything.
    Dr M: But Why?

Bomoh: Because SOROS stands for ‘Speculate On Ringgit Or Stocks’. You must blame him, and look at ways to control the ringgit and stock market.

Bomoh: Step 2 – You must get rid of ANWAR.
    Dr M: What! why him?

Bomoh: Because ANWAR stands for ‘A Nation Without Any Ringgit’.
Dr M: But how? This is most difficult to do, he is popular with the people.

Bomoh: Aiyoh, you bodoh lah! Look at your name, MAHATHIR.
Make Anwar Homosexual And Then Highlight It Repeatedly

    He is a bunkum.
Does it matter what a bunkum said.
    Bunkum can only utter bunkum.
    We have enough bunkum.
It is time to stop this bloody bunkum to create more bunkums.
All bunkums, old and young, big and small must be cast into oblivion.
UMNO is not reforming; UMNO is returning to its original bunkum with its chief bunkum leading the way and smaller bunkums following closely behind.
Bunkum members, bunkum leadership, and bunkum party.
A reformed UMNO must accept the livelihood that the next Prime Minister of Malaysia can be Theresa Kok – female, non Muslim and non Malay, how about it?
How many of you say I am dreaming?
How many of you say I am being unrealistic?
Well, this is what reforming UMNO is about, got it?

  6. THE beauty of a bunkum is that he does not know he is a bunkum.
He will condemn everybody around him as bunkums, not knowing that he is the chief bunkum.
For 22 years, it has been one bunkum after another bunkum.
For 22 years, he created bunkum after bunkum.
The bunkum about loving his race, country and religion.
The bunkum about making this country respected.
    The bunkum about tackling corruption.
    The bunkum about privatisation.
The bunkum of destroying time-tested government institutions.
The bunkum of converting Putrajaya into his own Disneyland.
I think this bunkum squandered the most by being around the longest.
Now he wants to create a BUNKUM DYNASTY.

  7. We shouldn’t be spending time talking about frivolous prophecies. With the best possible leaders that they can ever get, UMNO is going to squeeze every ounce of federal power out of their political dominance.

This will bode badly for the opposition and the society at large. With alternative news limited to hardcore supporters, any cosmetic changes to federal policy can be made to look like genuine reform, and the masses won’t be wiser to separate the woods from the trees. And if they get the PR right – saying the right things, but doing all the wrong things – and it is not distilled and debated widely, the masses will again not be the wiser to separate the woods from the trees.

Darkness has just dawned upon the opposition. Anwar should take a step back before taking two steps forward. The opposition resurgence, for all its creative use of the internet and political stars, may well have squeezed out all their creative juice and may well be checked by federal leadership void of scruples. Pakatan now need to change the game again. Staying the course can only be a politically suicidal option.

  8. TTDL_KL…UMNO knows you are not dreaming…and have Transfomasi to shut up Reformasi…right now?
Elect Monsterball as PM……to roll those bukum buggers.. like 10 pins..with my monster bowling ball…….hahahahahaha
Someone have to do the dirty job…WHO?

  9. See they are panicking about continuity of umno after “N”.
The rahman legacy is not about umno’s president. Stupid.
It is all about the prime minister of malaysia.
See they in their typically bully and grabber outlook and mentality claim sole and absolute right and privilege over that rahman legacy.
    “N” need not mean Najib.
And “N” need not come from umno.
    “N” can be Nizar.
    What comes next after Nizar?
    Its all merit based.
    Anyone can come next.
    No pre-determination.
No pre-fixing like buying delegates’ nomination for qualification to stand for election in umno.
Malaysia under pakatan does not need any such prior arrangement.

  10. Umno can very end soon.
But malaysia will not and can continue.
    Malaysia still has pakatan.
    The better alternative to umno.
Umno have erected such high walls for themselves.
So high that they can not see what lies beyond umno.

  11. The RAHMAN prophecy will be coming full circle. What happens after this. They are saying that it will now be the MAHATHIR prophecy. Let’s look at the RAHMAN prophecy AGAIN. It will not end,but take on a new offshoot:
    Najib
    R. A. H. M. A. N or
    N. Nizar
    W.
    A.
    R.

It takes a bit of imagination to tweak and explain everything to soothe our souls.

  12. The preview in the earlier comment by me does not reflect what I want to say.In case the the above comments does not appear as I should want it to, look at the RAHMAN word. The last letter N could be Najib or Nizar. Look again at the 2nd letter of RAHMAN. If you spell ANWAR vertically, then another prophecy can be created. Hope it is clearer now.

  13. R for Rahman
    A for Abdul
    H for Hussein
    M for Mahathir
    A for Abdullah
    N for Najib
From good to bad to worse.

    M for Muhyiddin
    A for Apdal
    H for Hishamuddin
    A for Ahmad
    T for Tajuddin
    H for Husni or Hamzah
    I for Ismail or Idris
    R for Radin or Rafique
    People’s prophecy. Only God knows.

  14. Prophesied List of New Opposition Leader in the Dewan Rakyat from 2010 onwards:

    M for Muhyiddin
    A for Apdal
    H for Hishamuddin
    A for Ahmad
    T for Tajuddin
    H for Husni or Hamzah
    I for Ismail or Idris
    R for Radin or Rafique

  15. Dear Uncle Lim, All elected MPs regardless from PR or BN MUST MUST MUST march to the palace on April 2 and submit a memorandum of no confidence in Najib. The truth is that many BN MPs dont want Najib either, if the opposition leads the way, this time they might just move into action too…

  16. No need for these alphabet prophecies. Let me make my own prediction – Najib will not the the last UMNO PM. I would even predict that UMNO will continue to rule for quite some time.

However, the end of this country is near if Najib goes ahead with his proposal to allow the entire grassroot members of UMNO to elect the PM.

The origin of all electoral system as with all historical electoral system was to put a check on populist unhealthy politics. You get rid of the electoral system and what you end up is a pandering for the worst impulses of a political system. The founders of the Alliance knew these when they made the electoral system small so that the elite could control the worst impulses of this divided country at the time of independence.

If Najib goes on with his plan, he will be the last of the moderate leader of UMNO. Those who aspire to the highest office will pander to the racist and the religious right. Its the natural choice as the middle moderate will be divided with differing views and its the easiest and cheapest to bring together the racist and the religious right. PAS will be the biggest loser as UMNO co-opt their constituents and BN component parties will leave one by one or together.

This is typical Najib whose ideas are in reality intellectual pretension/masturbation. It looks smart and looks great in the short term but in reality are disastrous and lethal for others eventually.

Don’t believe me, look at the line-up of the Supreme Council this time. Who lead in the race of VP this time – Zahidi? Who should have won the DP race – Mohd Ali Rustam. You think these people will be checked when they make the voting populist? They may not use money in the same way but they will take their vitriols to the next levels. It actually the only logical thing to do.

Of course his proposal is not spelled out yet and he may yet have a check on populist voting but if he does not, then my verdict is that for non-bumis and moderates in this country, its time to get those immigration plans going for sure. This country will eventually fall apart in seething racist, religious problems.

  17. “Onlooker Politics…Are you a racialist pro UMNO writer?
    Why only Melayu PM?
    Why no other races?
Are you a Malaysian or a robot?” (monsterball)

    monsterball,
Don’t be too racist if you want to represent DAP.

I personally would like to see Lim Kit Siang become the Prime Minister of Malaysia. However, the political system of parliamentary democracy by way of voting in the general election is a vote-counting game. Kit will not have the number in order to be elected as the Prime Minister, especially at the current moment or for the next 10 years when racism will still be prevalent and dominant in Malaysia’s political arena so long as UMNO still exists in Malaysia.

Kit will have to try all out to recruit as many Malay members as possible in order to change the political demography of DAP.

  18. The latest population (2009)of of the different ethnic groups in Malaysia, according to CIA (not according to our statistics department that churns statistics to please only UMNOPUTRAS) are as follows:malay
    50.4%,chinese23.7%,indigenous11%,Indian7.1%,others7.8%.
The chinese will keep coming down to 19% by 2030 and by 2070 13%! Whereas Malay population is expected to keep going up since their fertility rate is much higher.
Plus the fact that race-based parties have been thriving for the last 52 years with no sign of waning is it any wonder there isn’t any non Malay PM or will there be one anytime in the foreseeable future? There can be one only if race based parties are dismantled!

  19. hi…Onlooker Politics…stop talking nonsense to me…will you?
Only last week…kickdefella blog…confirm I am not a racialist..with so many commentators..from Shieh’s and Susan Loone blogs….all agreeing to it…here you start that nonsense again.
You see….guys like you…the real racialists….the supporters of UMNO and BN…is applying exactly what Mahathir is good at.twisting and turning facts to fiction and vice versa for your advantage.
Such kind of commentators are grooming themselves to be dirty cunning politicians.
I guess you are also saying DAP is a racialist party too.

  20. “I guess you are also saying DAP is a racialist party too.” (monsterball)

    monsterball,

It is regrettable to see DAP having such an irrational old man as you to be DAP’s hardcore supporter. You are irrational because you simply shoot without aiming at the right target.

I am a realistic man. I don’t like to tell lie that Kit will become the Prime Minister of Malaysia when PR is able to take over the Federal Government of Malaysia someday in the future. Kit will have to work very hard in order to bring about the revolutionary change in the racist-based political culture of the majority Malay community in Malaysia. Nevertheless, I seldom see DAP leaders doing a political campaign in a Malay-concentrated dwelling area.

Therefore, based on the present circumstances in which DAP leaders live, it will be much more realistic for me to predict that Kit will be appointed as the second Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia by Anwar Ibrahim if PR can really take over the majority control of the Parliament in the 13th GE.

  21. some of us must have been indoctrinated by m see hair logics and propanganda…..populations going down …..you must sleeping along with bodowi..the next economic growth centre is sea, and who would be instrumental in uplifiting this wind of change…..come ..on dont read too much and take for granted

see for yourself, live it , dont blame the stats and it forecast….if you do so do it with style go to temple of heaven to do it.

    dream on…

  22. nah YB Kit …. the prophecy end with RAHMAN.
It was said that a big change will happen and it’s going to be Pakatan forming the next Federal Govt.

Muhyidin Ahmad Zaid and Hissham ….MAH**** No way.

    Sorry BeEnd … it’s DeadEnd

  23. Dear Onlooker,

Why only Malay PM? Why? Simple. The answer lies to what we called “demography”. Since Malays forms the largest race in Malaysia in term of population, they are likely to have the most influence in politics.

Hence, it is most likely that the Prime Minister is a Malay. Just like in Singapore where practically only Chinese can become Prime Minister. Just like you do not want to have anything with UMNO, vast majority of Malays just do not trust DAP as they view DAP is very racial.

The illconceived agenda of DAP in inciting Chinese by saying any alliance with UMNO by Chines based party as betraying Chinese is actually a double sword. Malays, angered at DAP, now are reluctant to vote for Chinese politicians from BN. Hence the result in last election saw non Malay BN politicians were wiped out in places such as Bandar Tun Razak, Kuantan, Hulu selangor, Kulim and Lunas and of course Pasir Panjang where Nizar won.

  24. The ‘RAHMAN’ prophecy may have had a slight aberration.
We are told that each letter represents the first alphabet of each PM’s name.
However, one would notice that every letter is the first letter of each PM’s first name, except for ‘R’, which is the first letter of our first PM’s second name.
    Should this mean anything?
Anyone care to shed some light on the origins of this ‘RAHMAN’ prophecy?
