New state general elections is best way to resolve the constitutional impasse in Terengganu caused by the resignation of three UMNO Assemblymen from UMNO, with no political party with working majority

With the resignation of the former Terengganu Mentri Besar, Ahmad Said and two other UMNO Terengganu State Assemblymen, Ghazali Taib and Roslee Daud, from UMNO, new state general elections is the best way to resolve the constitutional impasse that has arisen in Terengganu as there is no political party with a working majority.

The composition of the Terengganu State Assembly is now BN 14; Pakatan Rakyat 15 and Independents 3.

The various scenarios that could arise from the constitutional crisis in Terengganu are:

• Firstly, newly-installed Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman conceding that he has lost the majority in the Terengganu State Assembly and the mandate given to him last night to form the new Terengganu State Government.

• Secondly, the possibility of Pakatan Rakyat forming a State Government, which has now 15 as compared to Barisan Nasional’s 14 State Assembly seats.

• Thirdly, the holding of new state general elections in Terengganu for the voters of Terengganu to decide the political future of the state.

As there is no effective majority in the first two scenarios, the best way to resolve the constitutional impasse in Terengganu caused by the resignation of the three UMNO Assemblymen from UMNO is to have new state general elections.

  1. Najib do the right thing? Really? Have we not learned anything? They are going to pretend nothing is wrong and carry on as usual..

Better for Pakatan to force the issue and table some bill, like supporting Kelantan demand to have Petronas pay them, that will force the hand..

  2. 15-14-3: 15 is simple majority mah

Dis Ahmad felo should b CHARGED 4 corruption n abuse of rakyat’s $$$ – WASTING rakyat’s $ makan angin in Antarctica, viewing penguins

In dis 1DERful land, apa2 pun CAN 1, sexciting what

  5. agreed with you, but think about the cost involved in each election. it is at the burden of the people.

i am also afraid that these former umno frogs may return to BN, or be BN friendly, if sme big money or senatorship will be guaranteed. it is all about corruption to keep the power in place

  6. tHe rest of umno ADUN, you better act fast to get a piece of the pie, otherwise, only the 3 will get the special treatment from the kangkong 1RM chicken, ‘you help me, I help you’ PM.

  7. WHERE got new state general elections 1?

  9. now, 15-15. Neither side has a majority.

Former Bar Council president, Lim Chee Wee, says the Terengganu state legal advisor Datuk Azhar Abdul Hamid had erred in insisting that its legislative assembly speaker (Mohd Zubir Embong) counted as a BN representative.
///“It is a well-known parliamentary convention that the speaker remains independent and bipartisan and does not vote save to break a tie which is not partisan …”///

  10. The real reason to do a state election is that its not only likely to cost less than what Ahmad Said and his gang is going ask Najib (meaning US the Rakyat) to pay him to fall in line, its money much more worthwhile spend even if it cost many times more.

I say throw the money into the ocean rather than give the likes of these warlord a sen. In fact, take out all Special Branch/MACC/police and other reports on them, send them packing out the country..
