Nazri, who is the “small boy” in the PM’s Department?

by Martin Jalleh

Who is small the boy in the Prime Minister’s Department who treats and turns parliament into his personal playground where he proudly leaves a trail of his political pooh behind?

Who is the small boy who tries to act tough, talks big and throws his weight around and wants everybody to think that he is the PM and that he knows everything?

Who is the small boy who childishly threatens and taunts those who stand up to him, and refuse to tolerate his temper, tantrums and theatrics?

Who is the small boy who cannot take criticisms and goes into a fit or a foul frolic or flaunts his foolishness according to his whim and fancy?

Who is the small boy who said he would advise the Cabinet to replace the then ACA Investigations Director with whom he had a war of words with!

Who is the small boy who told Parliament that former Lord President Salleh Abas and other senior judges involved in the judicial crisis 20 years ago were not “sacked”?

Who is the small boy who shouted in parliament like some street bully “racist and “bloody racist” at DAP MP M Kula Segaran – 41 times in a space of five to 10 minutes?

Who is the small boy, who, without any sense and sensitivity, told wheelchair-bound Karpal Singh in parliament: “You are just jealous because I am standing!”?

Who is the small boy whom a then member to the ruling coalition in Sabah told to “shut up” because of his “ignorance” of the social, security and economic problems in the state?

Who is the small boy whose colleague Bernard Dompok said was taking a “cheap shot” when he responded to Dompok’s resignation as chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee?

Who is the small boy who said that two MPs who had made sexist remarks following MP Fong Po Kuan’s observations of leaks in the Parliament building should not apologise to Fong?

Who is that small boy who said “Singapore is not a real country” (and whose inference of larger countries being more prone to corruption was absolutely wrong)?

Who is that small boy who called Lim Kit Siang (LKS) “Stupid, stupid, stupid…!” countless of times during a debate and got off scot free with his “stupid” salvoes grinning like a school bully?

Who is the small boy who looked so “stupid” when LKS produced a taped transcript of the then CJ advocating the abolition of Common Law, and on whose behalf the small boy had denied?

Who is the small boy who was speechless when Karpal Singh revealed the name of a Federal Court judge who had not written judgments in as many as 35 cases?

Who is the small boy who when explaining why he had issued a denial on behalf of the then CJ in connection with the Lingam video scandal, had very proudly declared: “I am his Minister”?

Who is the small boy who said that whistleblowers in the Lingam Tape scandal could be protected under a tabled Witness Protection Bill and later admitted there was no such bill?

Minister in the PM’s Department Nazri Abd Aziz has labelled Perak State Assembly Speaker V. Sivakumar a “boy speaker”. He says the Speaker “does not know what he is doing. He is not fit to be given such a heavy responsibility.”

Alas, who has been acting like a boy? Of course, the small boy in the PM’s department! A glance at Nazri’s track record (out of which a few examples have been give above) shows a trail of evidence that Nazri is nothing but a loudmouth, loose cannon and a lowdown Umnoputra in Parliament! He is laughable!

As a Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and the de facto law minister Nazri Abd Aziz is blind to the truth, biased, beholden to the Umno-dominated Government and begs and bends backwards to do its bidding. The boy Minister bulls, boasts, barks and brays, brazenly blunders, goes berserk and bullies…

In sharp contrast is Speaker V. Sivakumar – a man who has displayed such exemplary boldness and bravery. He has refused to be bribed, bought over or bullied and is ready to face the possible consequences in standing up to the powers-that-be.

Nazri has said that “the whole episode in Perak is a comedy”. It is the people of Perak who will have the last laugh!

Nazri has also called the fiasco in Perak a “mockery”. Was he referring to the jaundiced judgments delivered by the judicial commissioner who has chosen to remain cloistered enough in his chambers so as not to notice a clear “conflict of interest” in the matter?

  1. Any [deleted] who labelled the Raintree Democracy Assembly of the 03.03.2009 Perak Legislative Assembly as an illegal assembly and challenged its validity in court was in great violation of Article 72 (1) of the Federal Constitution of Malaysia, which stipulates,

    “Article 72.
    (1) The validity of any proceedings in the Legislative Assembly of any State shall not be questioned in any court.”

What is the credibility of the restraining order which has been issued by a Judicial Commissioner requiring the Perak Speaker V. Sivakumar to stop all proceedings of the State Legislative Assembly if the restraining order was given by someone who was either ignorant about Article 72 (1) of the Federal Constitution or wilfully chosen to defy the Independence Discretionary Power that has been given by the State Constitution and the Federal Constitution to a Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly?

  2. How can the Police make a declaration that all assemblies held in Perak will be illegal when the Prime Minister Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi already made an assurance that there wouldn’t be a declaration of emergency rule in Perak? The IGP and the State Police Chief of Perak have to announce to the public that which law and what legal basis they have relied upon in order to declare a total ban for holding assemblies in Perak!

Are the IGP and the State Police Chief of Perak trying to turn Perak into a Police State whereby all the authoritative powers shall be vested in the hand of the State Police Chief of Perak, just like the usual way of dictatorial control being implemented in a Junta ruled country like Myanmar?

Is the IGP planning to appoint a representative from the Police Force to rule the State of Perak? What will be the political positions of both the Perak Sultan and the Prime Minister of Malaysia if the State Police Chief of Perak is to be continually permitted to behave and act in great violation of the Article 72 (1) of the Federal Constitution of Malaysia?

///The Ipoh High Court has ruled again that Perak speaker V Sivakumar must only be represented by the state legal advisor and not by his personal lawyers./// –Malaysiakini

It would appear that the High Court has decided how the Perak Speaker V Sivakumar should lose his case. If the court is interested in dispensing justice, then the court should be seen to be fair, and in this case to allow legal representation by the defendant or the plaintiff to choose whoever he considered qualified, capable and can be trusted to represent him. The court should hear the case and the appropriate arguments and make its judgment. The court has no right to deprive one of the contending parties the right to the best counsels; and it is for the party concerned to decide who can best be his legal counsel. By insisting that the State legal adviser represent Sivakumar, the judge has in fact decided that Sivakumar should lose the case, with the help of the state legal adviser. This must be the first example of a judge deciding verdict before a case begins, and also in the way it should proceed, in the commonwealth countries. Who says Malaysia ta’boleh? Malaysia creates history at every turn of events when the BN government plays dirty.

  4. Who is that small boy…love to dot dot dot and drinking kopi kau kau…at Permatang Pauh?
Walloped right and proper by voters backing.. Anwar…he is back to be a holligan ….a trademark of an UMNO Youth Chief….he wants desperate to win.
Educated at Oxfart….this young fut days are numbered too.

  5. Nazri is indeed a small boy who wants to prove that he is the jaguh kampong. He is so steeped in inferiority complex that he tries to overcompensate himself by agressive and bizzare behaviour.

This will take the form of trying to show everyone that he is clever and he will usurp himself in areas in which he has no business or competence in. He tries to be everything: the mouthpiece of the PM, the arbiter in interpreting the law of everything, the hero. In the process of taking up so many roles, he makes a fool of himself and shows the whole world his shallowness. He is trying to show off to his kampong folks that he has arrived but in reality he is a total failure and a clown.

During one of his interview in the Star after the lawyer’s march on Putrajaya in 2008, he claimed that truth is based on what the majority thinks and do. If the kampong folks do not get excited and talked about something in the coffeeshop, then there is no truth in it. In other words the tyranny of the majority determines what is truth.

  6. Say, wasn’t he the Parliament Janitor some time ago looking after leaks, drains, desks, toilets etc until he promised to be a good boy and was given a desk job?

    Hmmm. Janitors forget very easily.

  7. A independent observer viewpoint:

Nazri behaves irrationally like a small boy, acts stupidly like a small boy, talks foolishly like a small boy, reasons childishly like a small boy, shouts and yells crazily like a small boy. In fact, he is like a spoilt, foolish, egoistic, hypocritical, devilish small boy. Unless he turns dramatical, he will definitely be punished not only in his life-time but much more severely in his after-life.

I do not belong to any political party. In the past years I often favoured the BN government and not so much for the Opposition but with the recent development, the ugly, dirty and evil side of BN is exposed thro’ BN leaders like Nazri, Najib, Syed Hamid, etc. I am disgusted by their unbecoming and hypocritical words, behaviors and actions.

  8. this idiot bodoh bodoh bodoh small boy once shouted at uncle kit and yelled “bodoh bodoh bodoh”,but eventually, three fingers pointed reversed-way toward himself!really a stupid and bodoh small boy.:-(

  9. Small boy Nazri , go tell your UMNO Youth gang that Machang MP Saifuddin has read excerpt of French Liberation newspaper of Altantuya murder case implicating UMNO VP ( Najis ) and UMNO Polis members and the whole world is watching. Now where is the Malay UMNO maruah!!!!! Get UMNO Youth to mob parliament for UMNO blood is now boiling real hot. Shame on you for not protecting a fellow disabled parliamentrian who was attacked right in front of your very nose.

  10. Nazri should realise that the recent events in Perak which he has chosen to regard as a comedy and a mockery, are as result of the handiwork of his soon-to-be boss, who exacerbated it by putting the vast resources of the federal govt behind it.

If he wasn’t an MP, he could have joined that group of ‘small boys’ who bullied an elderly wheelchair-bound MP at the Parliament last week…

  11. BN-UMNO is now bankrupt of capable, intelligent, people-friendly, honest, transparent, impartial, honourable, dependable, race-blind, religion-blind, truly subscribing to multiculturalism, independent minded, wholesome and trustworthy leaders.

That decline must be compensated and mitigated by leaders from without.

The earlier the people realise this the better it is for themselves and the nation.

We cannot accept leaders who are racist, narrow minded, bigoted, prejudiced, discriminatory, corrupted, dishonest, partial, “supremacy addicted”, incorrigibly racially biased, pretenders defending the constitution, crooks and robbers of the nation’s coffers and trust of the people.

Nazri the clowning small boy , and the likes of him would not be here for long as the tide of awakened people and the new dawn of justice, liberty, rule of law, truth and political consciousness will wash them away.
