‘Cops, security did not help me’

by S Pathmawathy & Rahmah Ghazali
Malaysiakini Feb 26, 09

DAP chairperson Karpal Singh said police and security personnel did not come to his aid when he was mobbed by a group of angry Umno Youth supporters at the Parliament lobby this afternoon.

“Although I called for the police to come and help, no one came… and my driver Michael called (DAP MP Fong) Po Kuan, who then called (DAP MP) Lim (Lip Eng).

“Lim came with N Gobalakrishnan (Padang Serai-PKR), Fong Kui Lun (Bukit Bintang-DAP) and Chong Chieng Jen (Bandar Kuching-DAP),” he told reporters after the incident.

“I might be in a wheelchair but I will not be cowed or intimidated by anyone,” he added.

The DAP chairperson and Bukit Gelugor MP said the Umno Youth supporters were so brazen that some of them had given him their name cards.

“They were very unruly and refused to let me leave,” said the veteran politician, who called for urgent action to be taken against the mob.

“Something must be done on a very urgent basis… how were these people even allowed in the precincts of Parliament? Where is the security if we are going to be accosted on our way to the House?

“I want action to be taken by the speaker, a rhetoric statement in the House is not enough, we want action and the speaker could do the necessary afterwards,” he added.

‘Pinnacle of insolence’

Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim condemned the incident, calling it the “pinnacle of insolence”.

“We are fed-up with promises that action will be taken and we don’t just want any investigations, we want an assurance from the speaker that the sanctity of this Parliament will not be destroyed,” he said.

Also seeing red over the incident was another DAP stalwart, Lim Kit Siang.

“This has never happened before… it is the most outrageous and shameful episode in the history of Parliament,” he said, adding that it was also a clear violation of the Houses of Parliament Privileges and Powers Act 1952.

“They should have been arrested on the spot for violating the act… something has become very ugly in Malaysian politics,” he said.

Lim also called upon Umno Youth leader Hishammuddin Hussein and Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to apologise over the incident.

  1. “pinnacle of insolence”, sadly not.
“degradation of the august house”, yea to it.

I wonder how low it will go,
“MPs in fistcuffs during seatings?” maybe soon.

Malaysia will be top on Obama’s list of potentially volatile state,….
….an escalated state of STUPIDITY of administration.

  2. UMNO is a party of thugs, thieves and robbers and that’s is why you don’t see any of their leaders condemning the savage attack on Karpal Singh. Where are the kerismuddin and c4 expert and how come to condemn this cowardly attack?

  3. UMNO youth should tell the tourism unit stop promoting the SECOND HOME PROGRAM as they bring more other races here in Malaysia, later they may be busy to threaten them unwelcome them here after they invested buying a home here in Malaysia.

Anyone should think twice and twice about SECOND HOME PROGRAM if they government admin by these people even the Malaysian is not safe here.

  4. Karpal Singh was only exercising his rights as allowed by the constitution when he criticised or disagreed with a monarch’s decision but it was politicised in such a way to make it appear that he had committed treason against the monarch.
Khir Toyo saw his chance in his bid to become the next UMNO Youth leader and so gathered up a big enough crowd to demonstrate against Karpal at Karpal’s house & office.
Khir could do this to an elderly wheelchair bound man when he has a crowd behind him, but earlier, he couldn’t bring himself to face the challenge of a one to one public debate with Ronnie Liu over the allegations of Selangor MB Khalid’s abuse of power.
Then, someone had thought it was a very brave thing to anonymously send Karpal a death threat letter with live bullets, and this was the second time.
So, faced with all these, the lion finally ‘roared’ in the Dewan Rakyat, which of course made his accusers very unhappy.
Khairy Jamaluddin, another contender for the UMNO Youth leadership post, had issued an ultimatum that Karpal furnishes proof of any UMNO Youth member’s involvement in the live bullet death threat letters, but so far, has either Khairy, Khir or anyone else shown any evidence that Karpal had committed treason by going beyond boundaries of the constitution or any other laws in criticising a monarch’s decision?

  5. Umno youth mobbed and attached Karpal Singh.I say umno youth shame on you.You not only made yourselves shameful and disgraceful, you also put great shame and dishonour to your leaders, most of all attacking a handicapp elected popular member of parliament. You should be arrested, charged, jailed and condemned. You umno youth, you have done a most shameful act and also a disgrace to our country.

  6. We have UMNO CJ,
    we have UMNO AG,
    we have UMNO EC,
    we have UMNO MACC,
and now its confirmed before our witnessing eyes at the door steps of our house of Parliament, we also have UMNO cops.

    Uphill struggles for Pakatan!

  7. The way I see it, UMNO Youth is desperately trying to cook up some racial storms like 1969.

In situation like this it will be wise to get PAS members and PKR Malay comrades to handle these unruly UMNO Youth.

  8. The Malaysian Insider commented : “If anything, this incident confirms what many of us have suspected: Malaysia is far from a mature democracy….”

It sure is “far from a mature democracy” where: –

    · Karpal’s suggestion of subjecting a constitutional ruler’s interpretation of Perak State Constitution to judicial review consistent with the rule of law has been skewed by some members of the ruling party to be “treasonable” in order to rally and mobilise political support;

    · Selective interpretation and enforcement of law in the sense that had the gathering of mob at the Parliament lobby been organized by the Opposition or any others – but a segment of the ruling party – it would expectedly have been immediately dispersed by law enforcement personnel on grounds of it being an ‘illegal assembly’. Here Karpal Singh reportedly said that even “police and security personnel at the Parliament did not come to his aid” when the gathering was a clear violation of the Houses of Parliament Privileges and Powers Act 1952.

If the organizers of the mob thought that the incident was helpful for their cause, they might be very mistaken – from the public relations angle.

There is very powerful symbolism in images showing an Opposition icon like Karpal, on a wheel chair, being set upon by a group of 20/30 heckling mob belonging to the ruling party.

“I might be in a wheelchair but I will not be cowed or intimidated by anyone,” Karpal said, which of course drove the following points home:

    · The Opposition is unfairly “handicapped” against the brutal force of the ruling party and its supporters protected by selective enforcement of the law. Karpal said that some members of the mob were so brazen that they had given him their name cards. This implies that they were revealing their identities (unafraid of being sued or having police action taken against them) precisely because they thought that the law would, selectively, not be enforced against those who belonged to the ruling party fighting its cause;

    · That though handicapped there is an indomitable spirit in being morally and legally right that will not be “cowed or intimidated” by the raw might of force by the mob seen as representing what the ruling party stands for.

    · The government is immediately put to defensive to justify why it had not done sufficient to prevent the incidence from taking place, and after it had taken place, why it is not doing more beyond a rhetoric expression of regret by BN Backbenchers Club chairperson Tiong King Sing to underline the message that what the mob did is wrong.

All considered, the incidence is more an embarrassment to the ruling party/govt (at least those amongst whom are still capable of sober thinking) and a boost to the Opposition seen as an ‘handicapped’ David being set upon by an unjust Goliath posturing brutal strength – than rationality or reason – to resolve differences of political stand, quite indifferent to constraints of law or morality of action.

  9. Greetings!

In Taiwan, I respected the politician who’s fight in gentleman way.

In Malaysia, we feel shamed when the UMNO Putra (The called themselves in the video shot) bullying OKU and seem like support from the Barisan Nasional MP’s.

    You fight on my foot…

  10. On Karpal’s part his statement in parliament – “I want to know where this ‘Umno Youth celaka’ got two bullets” – referring to the bullet threats he received recently, has he got evidence or simply making irresponsible statement in Parliament shielding himself with parliamentary immunity?

As Karpal himself said, under Section 57 of the Internal Security Act, if a person is in possession of even a single bullet and is found guilty, he or she is liable to face the death penalty.

So if he has evidence of two bullets from someone in UMNO Youth, he is being maganimous in not showing it to the police? :)

  11. Umno has forgotten that they have lost their two third majority and they have not given the message to all their members. As a result the hooliganism of their supporters.I cannot imagine what their state would be if they had totally lost power to rule.Parliament is not a place for those supporters to come.It is meant for honorable members to behave honourably. We are facing the worse time of politics but for the good.Change will come.

  12. Totally disgusting and most deplorable behaviour by these UNMO hooligans. You have brought shame to the great religion of Islam, which teaches many good values including showing respect and kindness to the old and disabled. SHAME on UNMO. SHAME to the security personnels and the MALAYSIAN POLICE for doing nothing to help.

Those mobsters are a threat to national security. Detain them under the ISA because their behaviour is 100 times more dangerous than the 5 Hindraf members currently in detention. The govt should not practise double standards. If no action is taken against those UNMO offenders, then there is no reason to keep the 5 Hindraf members even one day longer in Kemunting.

  13. If the “Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia expressed regret” over the incident, which he said was a “First in Parliament”.

The Speaker added that he would ask the Home Ministry to investigate the matter and “vowed that such incidents would not recur.” (What a JOKE !)

Does that not show his “Ignorance” or “Denial” on the “Malay Muslim Hadhari UMNO Ketuanan Beggar’s” RACIST THUGGERY which we ALL have seen at the “APCET” conference, the Bar Council Seminar, at the Penang KOMTAR, the US Embassy by SIL, in Perak by SIL & Toyol, etc, etc, etc….

Does he not “Realise” that if it can happen in “His Parliament House” to a Senior UMNO/BN or PR MP, being “HARRASSED, INTIMIDATED & BARRED” by 20 or more UMNOputra “THUGS” in full view of PR MPs & the “Parliament Security Personnel” Chaperoning & Babysitting them thugs !!!….My God !

….that is “ANARCHY” & definitely not “SUBTLE ANARCHY” anymore….AN INSULT & CONTEMPT of the nation’s Institutional “Pillar” by the Malaysian BN Government’s “Thugs”!

Where is PM & PM wannabe & what is their “COMMENT & STATEMENT OF FIRM ACTION” against those 20 or more UMNO members…or were the 20 or more members “INSTRUCTED” behind the scene !

Sad to see this great nation Malaysia administered by the British Tuans, then handed over to…..

The Malaysian TUANS under Bapa Malaysia Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra & his Malaysian cabinet of TRUE TUANS managing the system of Wesminster style Democracy & with the Rule of Law in 1957…..

Getting “Hijacked & Betrayed” by the “Elite UMNO Ketetuanan BEGGARS” in 1969…..

Some of those are still “Alive, Kicking & Mentoring ALL the New Ketetuanan Beggar Wannabes.”

To be a Public figure, one must be established, sincere, honest, credible, transparent & above board – should be opened to scrutinization like in the US.

Many of our Leaders today have “skeletons” of their past in their closets (some have their family’s baggages as well!)….

So how can they be “Honourable” to carry out their duties diligently without “Fear or favour”, even after taking an “Oath” to the King/Sultan/the nation & rayaat.”

Former Lord President Tun Mohamed Suffian Hashim repeatedly insisted in his foundational written texts…

that in Malaysia, the constitution and nothing but the constitution is “the supreme law of the land”.

Malaysia cannot afford to see constitutional principles imperilled, and constitutional processes jeopardised —

not even out of an understandable impatience, or a conscientious determination, to see the urgent political and practical problems of the day speedily resolved.

This great nation, its assets & its Anak Bangsa Malaysia have been abused for the last 40 years by these “Moronic Idiots & their Goons” through “Gutter Politics” & the “Law of the Jungle.”

Desperate People, at Desperate Times, will RESORT to Desperate Henious Actions even if it means “Destroying” their “Honourable Family Legacy”, their own “MALAY MUSLIM HADHARI” party “UMNO” beyond “Redemption”, their Own Kind, this country & its Rayaat !

Through “Devine” intervention, UMNO, its Ketetuanan Leaders & their Lapdogs are now “Outdoing & Destroying” each other with their “Power, Greed & Henious Crimes” through “Gutter Politics” & their “Law of the Jungle” ala “Jaguh Kampong Kindergarten” style.

Remember “What goes round, will come round to these Desperate UMNO Ketetuanan Beggars” – Past, Present & Future.

The “Opressors” will “FAIL” & God Almighty will ensure “Justice” will be done.

  14. MR Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia – you have pointed that one potty finger at the PERAK SPEAKER and now THREE FINGERS are pointing back at you …………………………

FOR TALK IS CHEAP IF YOU DON’T MEAN WHAT YOU SAY –

ARE YOU DOING IT JUST FOR THE SPIN ONLY? I wonder…………..

  15. UMNO PUNKS IN ACTION…

I am totally disgusted and lost of words to describe the despicable behavior of these UMNO samsengs. Is Malaysia becoming another Zambawe?
Opposition MBs were mobbed in front of security personnel and they did nothing. The intended lack of security is a total disgrace!
This is a very serious precedence and does not augur well for the future of Malaysia. Is this the rehearsal of what to expect when Mongolian C4 becomes PM?
When UMNO rule is threatened, the ugly face appears.
Democracy takes a back seat, mafia rules and Malaysia is doomed.
What is UMNO leaders got to say and how low will UMNO sink?

  16. UMNO Youth’s actions shows the true nature of thier existance. Mindless hooligans who instead of debating issues, resort to violence.

To the UMNO Leaders, your refusal to appologize for the actions of your members IMMEDIATELY shows your approval for these kinds of actions. I’m sure the leaders themselves are afraid that if any action is taken, they might lose popularity in the coming UMNO election. I pray that penalty of the highest degree is meted down by the legal authorities to these 22 UMNO hooligans for disrespecting the parliament. If they are allowed to go scott free, we are indirectly condoning similar actions in parliament….such a disgrace

To the police and security personnel who just “watched”. I urge that all of the individuals are produced in parliament and their positions revoked as they did not peform their duties without fear or favor. They showed that they were biased in this case which is tantamount to “abetting” the UMNO hooligans in thier mindless rampage in parliament.

To Malaysians. Remember during the case of Ahmad “Pendatang” Ismail, everyone was furious but only debated this issue. No violent street demonstrations or parliament disruptions. This shows the maturity of Malaysians at large. UMNO is showing its true face…….. vote them out come GE13. Our campaign has to start now!!! For the future of this great nation, I pray that UMNO is brought down with the greatest of haste, lest our future generations will pay the price.

  17. karpal i don’t believe you. you only have to ask
“cintanegara” he will attest to the FACT
that in malaysia EVERYONE is trusted and respected.
the police will defend ANYONE. also in malaysia
umno youth are NOT CELAKA. it could not have been
umno youth threatening you. go ask “cintanegara”…

  18. UMNO’s action is mind-baffling. If they do not want people to sue the sultans, why did they remove their immunity in the first place?

The only explanation I can think of is Khairy Jamaluddin and Khir Toyo are fighting for the Youth Chief post in the March UMNO elections. In order to gain political mileage, they are prepared to create an issue out of Karpal Singh’s intention to sue the Sultan of Perak. However, they must not forget that the “mighty old guard” (Tun M.) is watching over them and soon he will come up with something to outwit them and thus open the door for Mukhriz Mahathir.

  19. monsterball said :-

Have you ever seen Karpal give a long good political speech in any election campaign?

    ————————————

Have you attended all his speech, how do you judge a GOOD political speech ? His actions are better that becoming a keyboard hero my man !

for RM 1000 , can I enter the Parliament and try beat up MPs ? wow, lemme see who’s going to get it first ?
If it is BN, Police will say it’s under Speaker’s jurisdiction, if PR members, even the Perak Speaker is being investigated. Double Standard ! Dewan Yang Mulia , what have you become ?

  20. No No No. We all missed the point. Its ok. Umno youth has done nothing wrong. I mean look they can do no wrong. Sending bullet and mobbing karpal. That is illegal for sure. But the law did not say it will be illegal if umno or umno members did it. See so they have done no wrong. But then again the law also did not mention DAP and so can DAP do it? Ah that is unwritten and it means DAP cannot do it. But who determine the unwritten bits? Umno of course.

If you find my logic stupid pls do not be amazed. I am just trying to justify things the umno way. Their mob reaction is a reflection of their wrongdoing. Which means the bullet could well have been sent by them or someone amongst them.

And the slow police reaction. Oh that is something to be expected when the person yelling out for help comes from the rest of us. If the scenario is reversed and that person calling for help was someone in umno, the police will definately there and then pronounce “We have solid evidence against the mob.”

What are they mobbing about anyway? That karpal is in a wheelchair? That is the only thing that makes him different as far as i can see.

  21. This is plain simple AMOK..Rule of law and order out the door.

We really surpassed Taiwan – in Taiwan it only gets crazy INSIDE chambers, outside no law breaking at all…

What was that promised in 1969? That NEP and ‘special rights’ was suppose to avoid all this? So what has all crap that has been shoved to up in boatfull all these years for?

  22. “UMNO Youth’s actions shows the true nature of thier existance. Mindless hooligans who instead of debating issues, resort to violence. …”
    shambles

it also shows the true nature or the police.
but i think everyone already know how they are
    like.

  23. Hallo, everyone, there is no point we just posted comments here.

You must tell every Malaysian under their admin, all have live under the threaten, corruption, unfairness, robbery and cheat.

You must tell every Malaysian do not let their children live under these threaten, corruption, unfairness, robbery and cheat people admin the country else their child would prefer like them.

They do not even listen to recently agong parliement opening speech and prefer to be racist at full extent. They put themselve above the agong. Don’t you see it.

  24. If the Pakatan Rakyat manage to form the Federal Govt on 13th General Election, the new govt will have to set up the Royal Tribunal to investigate the below bodies.

    1. PDRM
    2. Attorney Chamber
    3. MACC
    4. Chief Justice
    Etc…..

  25. I’d strongly agree to MyPeoplePower!

I’d strongly disagree to those monsters or leadership, immoral and disrespect to Karpal Singh (old man, handicap)!

I’d strongly disappointed to authority personnel professionalism! Indirectly in support of group of monsters (gangster) motion and violent manner against our honors PR MPs!

    Investigation… Guarantee… what’s a joke!
Prosecution… bail (or jail) them… most ever convincing!
Prove to us, rakyat Malaysia, how effectiveness (or professional) you’re!

    TQ.
    Warmest regards.

  26. Dear All,

The incident that took place at the parliament entrance was a nimble but grim reminder from UMNO Youth to all and sundry particularly the opposition that they will not hesitate to resort to violence so as to sort out any dispute. This is extremely unbecoming and the ruthless behaviour of these individuals from UMNO Youth should be condemned and civil action be taken against them. The police should launch an immediate investigation and haul up those responsible so as to restore confidence among public that no one could take the law into their own hands.

It is yet another sordid example that UMNO has refused to change and reconcile with the fact that Malaysians wanted a more just, fair and peaceful political environment going forward of which this reminder had been shown during the last general election better known as “308”. It is therefore a sad day to all Malaysians and in fact to the world to witness such unruly and hooligan type behaviour took the order of the day at our “prestigious” parliament. Yet another grim reminder that we, particularly UMNO, have yet to be able to live in a more equitable sharing environment in Malaysia. It is just a show by UMNO Youth that I am the “boss” and you should hear and do what I say or want you to do. The spirit of sharing is just a farce rhetoric broought about by UMNO leadership only during election season and they have no real will to do or practise what they preach!

It is also sad and dissapointing to see and hear that no action was forthcoming from the rest of other BN component parties like MCA, MIC, Gerakan coming to defend Karpal Singh or to criticize such unruly behaviour of their “Big Brother”.

  27. ch makes a good point. In other words, if PR becomes the Federal Govt, UMNO Youth will resort to violence. PR need to think through if they win the election on how to control the army and police when it takes over the Fed govt.

  28. “This is all what the Umno candidates can do to gain support”

This is a clear reflection of most of the Umno members’ mentality.

No wonder the country, being governed by these “brainless” Umno, MCA, Gerakan, MIC, and other East Malaysian dogs for the last 51 years is loosing out its economic, education, etc., positions to other less developing countries.

    Sight!

  29. Ah! I see Umno “Hitler” Youth is on action again. They fear no one as they are only emulating what their leaders, Herr Hish-hash and Herr Khairy, have been doing at various gatherings, meetings and demonstrations. Moneky see, monkey do, as they day. Give them some bananas.

“The Bintulu MP said he regretted that such an incident happened inside the Parliament compound and hoped that security would be beefed up.

“They (UMNO Youth) were provoked,…….” Malaysia Insider. Really, by whom? BN leaders should stop protecting their members and justifying their actions.

Samsengs, thats what these people are.

  30. The Speaker has usual is too scared to take the necessary action except to pass the buck to the Home Minister.
The police too are just too laid back whenever UMNO Youth is concerned – allowing them to demonstrate outside his house etc.
Maybe we should create a more multi-racial police force to prevent this type of selective protection scandals.
    http://malaysiawatch4.blogspot.com/2009/02/malaysiakini-and-gurkhas-for-parliament.html

  31. It’s the PRDM show of trying to better its own heights of farcical incompetence again isn’t it?

….and sorry, was that the UMNO or Hitler Youth rabble that was causing that rowdy rabble-rousing and despicably attacking an elected parliamentarian who is currently wheelchair bound?

“Imagine Power To The People” John Lennon.

  32. Karpal is a fearless righteous man we all know him to be……but he is noted to speak our sensationally against UMNO…and of late against the leaders of PR.
    Later apologizing…..but damaged is done.
He is the chosen target by UMNO to irritate and get him into frenzy moods.
    He asked for it.
He maybe giving long arguments in court cases…but on election campaigns…I have not heard Karpal speeches at all.
StevePCH said actions speak louder than words.
The actions I know Karpal was doing …are not speaking well for PR.

  33. Hmmm…Too many thugs around and even the MP insecure in this country.Whom to blame? Of course we the “rakyat” for letting them rule for more than 50 years. Is the police suppose to protect the “rakyat” or AMNO?How come non of them being arrested or shot dead.Oh yes, I forgot they only act on non-malay.Mr. Karpal, it is useless to react to them now as they’re street hooligans.Just wait for another few years take over the govt and teach them a good lesson.

  34. Malaysia would only turn to be a world class “samseng” country” under UMNO’s leadership. Look at their youth “celaka” actions, then you will know how Malaysia is going to be a world class “samseng country”. Time to change!!! We want a peaceful, democractic, and transparent country!

  35. Just look at the head of youth, well known for “keris” and the other three candidates with racist track records. So,it is not a surprise at all for the tails to act in such a manner.Do we deserve to have this kind of leaders?A wise “rakyat” will say “TAK NAK”.Unfortunately, all the tails already infected with racist virus and I don’t think so we have any medicine to kill the virus. We need a good multiracial govt who can treat all the “rakyat” equally. This is human nature.

  36. YB

The Umno Youth had always been the King….. King of Thugs.

Ask folks in Kampung Baru….. they will tell you of their heroic act…… instigating May 13.

To coin a word from a great brave + people oriented social democrat, “Celaka Pemudah Umno !!!”

  37. Firstly, we all know that UMNO Youth are a bunch of thugs (no surprise there). It was 100% confirmed the moment they asked the Mat Rempit to join thier ranks.
Secondly, the PDRM asr the “lapdogs” (like MCA. MIC, PPP & Gerakan) of UMNO. Do you think they are going to protect people like Karpal Singh?

  38. Monopoly of any one race in govt will make them “Besar Kepala”.This is human nature and it is unhealthy in multiracial country.Other races will be exposed to a great degree of danger. We’re seeing the result now.

    1) Thugs mob MP at parliament lobby
    2) Refused to help the chinese victim during landslide at Bukit
    Antarabangsa 2008
    3) Six shot dead in Kulim
    4) Teachers using racist term towards the students

    AND THE LIST GO ON……………………..

  39. Bad…bad…bad SELANGOR UMNO YOUTH

What happened today (afternoon) at the Parliament is totally despicable. How can the ruling party’s own youth wing behave in such a manner that intimidates even an “Orang Kurang Upaya”. Have UMNO and its office bearers come to this stage? Shame on the Prime Minister, Prime Minister-in-waiting and the entire Malaysian Cabinet that UMNO represents.

    Further, what is baffling is:
    1. How come the Security and the Police who were present there did not rush to aid Mr. Karpal Singh?

    2. How did the Selangor Pemuda UMNO members were there to frighten the MP?

    3. Has MPs lost their privileges and immunities inside Parliament?

    4. What will the intelligent statements that the PM, DPM and other UMNO clowns be saying to justify this incident?

    5. Will the Police investigate Khir Toyo’s involvement in this incident since he is involved in the organization?
    SHAME…SHAME…SHAME.

  40. The UMNO youth are insulting all Malaysian.

They are so racist non-stop create racist problem do not respect any of agong parliment speech recently.

Why aren’t anyone ask them to go back to indonesia as they are mostly indonesia immigrant?

    Isn’t it?

  41. MSN News (http://news.my.msn.com/regional/article.aspx?cp-documentid=2635870) reported taday:

UMNO Youth secretary Abdul Rahman Dahlan confirmed members of the influential party wing were involved in the scuffle.
It’s a very serious accusation by Karpal as an experienced MP. We have 700,000 members and we might not be able to control all of them, he told AFP.

What the hell can BN do while they themselves cannot even control their own party members? There is almost 30mils malysian in the country, what make them think they are able to manage the country by failing to control or manage only 3% of the total. What a crab! Malaysia is now in deep shit with a bunch of BARBARIAN struggling to gain political power to manage the country. God bless all helpless Malaysian.

  42. Maybe the Indo Toyol taking revenge as he failed to show his performance at Karpal’s residence in Penang the other day.Maybe all the clowns behind this shameful act. They want to show the power. It is a direct threat to the MP and indirect threat to “rakyat” who challenge them.Shameful, disgusting,no more words to describe my anger…PTUIK….

  43. good in a way those umno gangsters attacked karpal, isn’t it, because it prove karpal’s point that they are celaka. ya damn celaka samseng umno youth!

khairy and kerismuddin did came out to speak but they only spoke to condemn karpal for the celeka remark (and accusation of umno youth culprit sent the bullets). why they so quiet on condemning the samseng for the attack? oh because, they too are one of them. quietly i guess they are very happy that the samseng umno youth mobbed karpal at parliament. notice how they said stuffs like (not actual quotes) “i can’t control the members”. “there are so many members, some will bound to get angry” – this means they don’t mind the samseng attitude from their own members!

  44. Partly due to a lack of confidence in our country, our ringgit has depreciated against all major currencies and almost reverted to the 1998 pegged level against the greenback. Given what happened in the last few weeks (Perak, Eli Wong and this fiasco in the august house), how the heck are we going to generate confidence and bring investors back? A lot of us are simply fed up with the endless politicking – probably best summed up by a Malaysian hero named Zubedy in a full page ad in theStar yesterday.

    http://www.letusaddvalue.blogspot.com/

  45. It is most disgusting and repugnant that UMNO youths should stoop so low. Shame should be written and hung over them for a thousand years!

Why are UMNO leaders silent on the matter. Does that mean they condone such unthinkable and base harassment and dirty tactics.

Be clear about this: UMNO and UMNO youths cannot create any fear in all other Malaysians! Their belligerence and holier-and- -greater-than-thou attitude only indicate their under-developed mentality and diffidence in themselves. The right thinking, confident and civilised do not resort to such lowly arm-twisting measures.

We are not being confrontational or challenging for a fist fight. That won’t be necessary.

It is all about honour, integrity, respect, hard work, virtues, values, morality and decency living out our lives. If UMNO youths do not know how to carry themselves, perhaps they should be given lessons to learn the basics of human conduct and acceptable moral code of behaviour.

    Grow up little boys!

  46. One day they turned against the royalties, another day they become humble subjects of HRHs – that’s UMNO politics. If they can do that to an OKU, ever wonder what they do to HRHs? Scumbags stop at nothing to achieve political power.

I hope our RHs realise this and please wake up!

  47. Umno youth has been like that for as long as I can remember. Racist. Extreme. Stupid. And annoying. They never change and will not change. That’s why they never progress and will not progress. That’s is also the reason why they have become increasingly dependant on the stupidly and ridiculously implemented nep.

If my memory serves me well, who was that (then) young umno leader who led a congregation of blind and stupid followers in merdeka stadium and threatened to burn the chinese assembly hall and chinatown down? What a truly violent predisposition he has!

I think we should not waste more time by responding to umno youth. They are immature and sick. Leave them alone to rot away.

  48. Umno Youth moronic gooligans are fond of playing hooliganism because they have too much negative energy for that, and in quantum electromagnetics it is always the negative particle which receives the energy first.

Those gooligans like to demonstrate to the public about their deadly symptom of “Ketuanan Melayu” (Malay Supremacy) Inferiority Complex because they got an ego larger than all of the universe.

Those gooligans would just enjoy bullying the handicapped people because the bullying behaviour gave them a head high.

Those gooligans are not only a fascist, but paid to be one!

On 26 Feb 2009 those gooligans were wandering around Malaysia’s Parliament House, looking for a scape goat for their fascist handlers. They are just the freaking moron,
who are really paranoid about people who have free speech
    capabilities like Mr Karpal!

  49. It is right to name UMNO youth as ” Pemuda UMNO Celaka “.
Not only this they are gangsters and mafia of Malaysia.
Gorvnment should send them to jail for not respecting the law.
I always say VOTE BN and UMNO out for good.

  50. This country is turning into another Somalia where thugs , gangsters and warlord rules with no law and order.

Then we do not need Parliament and do not require YB’s to be elected. Just appoint whoever is being favoured by the strongest warlord.

This action in Parliament has to be strongly condemn by all right thinking Malaysians and all OKU’s groups should stage their strongest protest.

Karpal is wheel-chaired bound and to deliver such life threatening stances by an uncivilised group within the confines of an August House makes it a mockery of democracy. What’s more Karpal is a senior Yang Berhormat .

If one is in possession of a bullet in Malaysia you can be sentenced to the gallows under our current laws. But here we see bullets being send to every political opponent and yet the culprit had not been apprehended. This speaks volumes on our law enforcement. Looks like bullets is being sold in the blackmarket like nobody business.

The law of the jungle rules in Malaysia.

  51. UMNO members simply cannot accept the fact that they have lost some grounds during the last election. They think that if other political parties, other than UMNO, were to rule, they will be left behind. I don’t think so. BN has failed in its ruling for the past 50 years. Their ideologies are still the same, nothing new coming from their brains. UMNO members wake up, if you want your children for a better future, think, don’t be emotional and die-hard.

  52. ‘DAYUS’ is the word to describe men who attacked an old man in wheel chair. SHAME ON YOU, UMNO ! SHAME ON YOU !
COPS and SECURITY ought to strip their uniforms and wear a kebaya…..
WE are with you Unlce Karpal….God will see to righteousness ,upheld in the end !

  53. What to expect from a bankrupt political party. Resorting to violence, intimidation and blackmail is BN’s brand of politics. You really think BN can lead us out of the economic doldrum with small minds like that. I really dread the day that these clowns will one day be full UMNO members.

  54. CELAKA BETUL!

Those ’sluts’ like their cyber-troopers are paid to do those dirty work while the top leadership ‘lempar batu, sembunyi tangan’! – truly live up to their reputation – annoying disrespectful scumbags of the earth!

  55. Their acts were just like babarian. It is dangerous to have such youth division in UMNO and to become our future nation leader.

It is shameful, hopeless and disappointed to see this matter happened in BODOH LAND!

  56. Wow , the gangsters are blaming the victims for provoking a fight.
Isn’t an assembly of more than 5 considered illegal ?
Why are these 22 guys going off scott free ?
Isn’t it biasness in Police again !!!
Anyone with video of the event to prove who started the fight ?
The goons are pointing to YB Lim and YB Gobala. from the photos alone, correct my short sightedness, aren’t the UMNO’s guy hand on YB Lim’s chest ?

  57. pakmang Says:

    >> It is shameful, hopeless and disappointed to see this matter…

Your rants can so easily be used to describe “king singh” :^)

Karpal knows very well what he is saying and what his unsubstantiated claims will lead to. There is no fire without smoke and Karpal (and by inference the DAP) will be well advised not to play with popular sentiments by way of emotional theatrics.

With the loss of Perak, we all know that Pakatan are bitter as their own pro ‘party hopping’ policies backfired. Now they must save face and start afresh otherwise they’ll end up losing grip on the other states that are currently under their control.

By governing these states as best as they can, they need to show the rakyat what they are capable of, perhaps then their misfortunes can be reversed. By cheap politicking, they simply show they are just as celaka as UMNO.

  58. zak , I don’t think DAP is bitter about losing Perak, as a Perakian, we Perakian are much more bitter than you can imagine.
much more about Perak Deputy Speaker Hee Yit Foong, such a disgrace to democracy.
what have BN done to Perak in the last 50 years ?
Seri Iskandar is a total failure. The Taman Farmaseutikal and whatever other Taman there is such a sore sight to see.
Teluk Intan is dead, there isn’t any initiative by previous Gerakan MP to introduce any development.
Naval Dockyard in Lumut is a total failure.
Ipoh has been the same since 20 to 30 years ago.
What industries are there in Perak under BN ? To name a few , none , none and still none.

At least YB Karpal Singh did not draw his Sikh dagger and say that he want to stain you blood on it. UMNO youth DID !
Kerismudin , Khairy , NTR and many more had done so. For what ? To protect “ketuanan Melayu” . Brother, we are no longer staying in Persekutuan Tanah Melayu, today we are collectively a country known as Malaysia.
YB KS deserve justice for what that has been done to him.

  59. If the Police Force of Malaysia is merely the consummable tool of the Executive Branch, then those police officers who are not happy in the speed of their job promotion as compared with the fellow colleagues of theirs shall offer their kind help to Pakatan Rakyat politicians as and when needed. It will not be too long for those kind-hearted Police Officers to see that their misfortune of having their capabilities being overlooked or underutilized by their immediate boss in the Police Force be disappearing by the next General Election.

The Police Officers who voluntarily offer their kind help to Pakatan Rakyat people shall always be remembered. It won’t be too long for those helpful Police Officers to get their rewards once Pakatan Rakyat has successfully taken over the power of Federal Government by the next General Election.

Therefore, those Police Officers with high personal integrity please do offer your kind assistance to any Pakatan Rakyat leader who needs your help. A friend in need is a friend indeed!

  60. It is doubtful whether UMNO actually knows anything about Islam when they show their true colours. They are no different from people who do not believe in any religion or have different religion. These UMNO members should be referred to their disciplinary board and since they are such instigators and so violent, they should be put under ISA. So what is Prime Minister going to do with his future leaders ? With this kind of people around, there is no future for the country. In fact, Malaysia will be like Thailand demonstrating everyday. Why not ? Let the common people decide who deserve to serve them or who do not. The politicians will start to punch, kick and throw chairs like their counterparts in Taiwan and South Korea.

  61. Sorry to digress for a moment here YB Lim,

This is the second or third time I have been ‘censured & moderated’.i.e. my comments have been completely removed.

I wish there was a way to communicate as to WHY & ‘HOW COME’? Its just that since in my case being a full time worker and all, having written something ‘close to your heart’ within the constraint period of time that I have and seeing it being ‘moderated disproportionately’, was not really something I saw forthcoming .

Anyhow here’s snippets of my personal angst and views of the UMNO Youth saga:

I don’t care what the 20 ‘celaka’ UMNO Youth excuse(s) is, but their ‘gangsterism’ beggars belief and MUST not be tolerated!

If Pak Dolah or in this instance the UMNO Youth ‘Leaders’ have any ‘balls’ left- stern and unequivocal CONDEMNATION AND DISCIPLINARY action must be taken against these THUGS! They are just that, FRIVOLOUS EMPTY-HEADED UMNO YOUTH THUGS!!

Cut the crap you BN/UMNO goons and buckle up the policing and security of this country. It might be normal for UMNO/BN politicians to indulge in C4,live bullets, sex, lies and videotape-but PLEASE DO NOT DRAG THE POLITICS OF MALAYSIA INTO THE GUTTER!!!

Lastly, I commanded YB Gobind Singh Deo (and rest of DAP stalwarts for that matter) for coming out….literally to protect his father. This is beyond politics. Its intuitive and spontaneous. Politicians are after all ‘only human’.

I do not agree with monsterball and partly with zak that it was perhaps ‘brought upon’ by YB Karpal on himself or an effort at ‘cheap politicking’. YB Karpal rightly apologized for uttering the word ‘celaka’ in Dewan Rakyat (though why is this anything worse than the sexist/foul/racist language of Tajuddin of Pasir Salak is beyond comprehension) but his aggravation and ‘siege’ mentality is understandable.

AMOK is derived from the Malay language. These clowns only know how to mengamuk.

Nothing against Godfather, with all due respect such statements are uncalled for. Godfather, are you insinuating only Malays know how to ‘amok’?

This is plain simple AMOK..Rule of law and order out the door.

  62. The umno youth are behaving like Mugabe’s thugs. This kind of ruffian behavior are sending shock wave to the foreign investors and I am sure they will think twice before coming here to invest. Who want to come to a country where the government is behaving like thugs and these kind of behavior will drag the country down like Zimbabwe. No one will be so stupid to put their money here and see them devalued to nothing. [deleted]

  63. While we are on this subject, I believe there are some inside the August House as well who are not averse to stooping down to despicable and dirty, low blows.

I recall the August House being forced to stoop low one by the now ousted (by the good people and quite rightly so!) Mr Kayveas of the MIC who on 28 June 2006 took an ill-mannered and inexcusable low blow at the same wheelchair bound parliamentarian – who as we all know is well-known in and outside of Malaysia as a tried, tested and well-proven political champion of democracy, and so someone who has clearly earned his well-deserved stripes and respect as it were – with this cruel and snide aside of his: “You are now in a wheelchair. Later, no one will know what your condition will be”.

On that same day, I recall one of the most IMO, uncouth MPs I have ever come across in any civilised democratic Parliament anywhere, the BN’s Mr Bung, also taking another uncouthly low blow at the same parliamentarian with this side remark: “Shut up and sit down. You are lucky you are only in a wheelchair and did not die. Even in a wheelchair you want to create trouble here”

And speaking of unacceptable low blows (unacceptable because they are totally unnecessary and in no way contribute to any real debate on any real in the House, other than being merely a high-testosterone/oestrogen-fuelled pointless show-off comment) one very low blow that particularly sticks in my mind is the cruel jeer I saw revealed on the face of a certain doctor (someone who I believe at one point must have taken the Hippocratic oath) and the cruel tone I heard in the snidey remark he made in reference to “Anwar’s black eye” when some newsmen were asking him to comment on the infamous incident in 1998/99 when the politically framed Anwar Ibrahim was beaten up by the now axed ex-IGP and cheap coward, Rahim Noor.

Perhaps the People should in future look deep and hard at the usually hidden characters of those standing at their democratic elections and watch probingly their performance before trusting them with their democratic votes and more importantly, with their delegated democratic power.

It is a general rule of thumb that generally principled people are not into putting on a show or performing acts of showmanship when it comes to serious things like governance and doing selfless public service in a statesman-like way.

“Imagine Power To The People” John Lennon.

  64. It seems that one of the security guards (Polis Bantuan?) at the Parliament building had given a flimsy excuse that on the day of the fracas, he ‘jaga dalam, bukan jaga luar’. Is this guy vying for the title of ‘Raja Lawak’?
