PETALING JAYA: The Registrar of Societies (RoS) confirmed Sunday that it had received the DAP’s Dec 15 Central Executive Committee’s polls report on Feb 8, ahead of the Feb 15 deadline it had set for the party.

“Here I would like to clarify that my previous statement was based on information that was not updated and this has led to confusion,” Registrar Datuk Abdul Rahman Othman said in a statement late Sunday.

“RoS apologises to all parties concerned over this mistake,” he said.

The investigations into DAP’s CEC polls was ongoing and would be finalised as soon as possible, he said.

On Saturday, Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein was reported as saying that he was told that DAP had failed to submit the report on time and, therefore, RoS would begin its investigations.

  1. Good on RoS for owning up – and as for Hishamuddin just shut up will you…..or better still please be at the front line in Sabah. Maybe you’ll get lucky and get to be the next Sulu Sultan…..

  2. The damage has been made, BN-controlled media already “riuh sekampung”, they will say DAP is above the law. Even now RoS apologized, media will just handle it low profile. Utusan might just silent it completely, you never know!!! That’s BN way to fish votes!!!

  3. ///Australia’s Foreign Minister Bob Carr told reporters in Sydney he had already spoken with his Malaysian counterpart to express his surprise and disappointment at Xenophon’s deportation but hoped the incident would not cool relations between both countries.

“I said I thought no ill could come of having an Australian senator there to observe the elections,” Carr was quoted as saying today by Australian news channel Skynews.

He was also reported saying the Malaysian government took strong objection to foreign interference in their election campaign.

Dr Mahathir also said today that Xenophon’s deportation would not affect the relations between the two countries.

When approached by reporters, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who was also with Dr Mahathir at the Chinese New Year event, said he would not comment on the matter today. ///–MalaysianInsider

UMNO government considers anybody observing their action in stealing election as interference. UMNO was right to think so because they do not want any outside body to confirm that UMNO stole the election. UMNO leaders are obviously shameless since its action of deporting the Australian Senator showed that it intended to steal and it proved so by denying the presence of foreign witness to observe stealing in action.

  4. Tis’ another glaring example of incompetency of governance! It is a simple thing for ROS to just let it be known the fact – whether DAP had responded/replied by way of submission to ROS of a report on its CEC election on Dec 15 within 60 day timeline. “I was told by the ROS there was none,” said HH, so the whole mainstream went to town on the DAP being ordered to be investigated by ROS with prospects of being deregistered as political society on eve of a watershed GE – when the fact was that its annual report and explanation were submitted by the party way within prescribed period for which the ROS has now to re-state he facts, apologise and cause its political boss to stand corrected! Incompetency is one thing. Disconnect and poor information flow between bureaucracy and their political bosses? Organizations have the tendency recruit and keep people like their bosses up the hierarchy, thus becoming victims of group think, to become deferent to authority and highly identified to the top’s policy agenda – not only when decisions or conclusions reached are bias but even when facts are wrong! In part its because everyone is self-interested in career advancement: the superiors feed information without checking to their political bosses what they like to hear, and lower level subordinates don’t want to jeopardize their careers by saying that their bosses are wrong even on he facts, let alone opinion and decisions! This kind of syndrome is even worse after 50 years of rule building up such a system.

  5. Again BN Minister manipulating using the media. Again the agency use as a tool by BN for its political agenda. This was exactly what the Dr. M has to say on the lies by media which has been use by the Minister to spread lies and create negative about the opposition

It is straight forward thing, if the Annual Return is filed it is filed and there is no need for the ROS officer to tell lies. and the Stupid minister follow to say all the non sense.

  6. This BN stooge must have mistakenly thought that DAP had failed to submit its report and so he must gleefully and on his own accord ran to HH with the info that he had discovered a way to put DAP in trouble.
Otherwise big mouthed Hisham would not have known about it.
He should fire this bumbling fool.

  7. Not only the political but also the earthly life of the scums in UMNO/BN are on the line; their crimes have finally caught up with them.
They will not leave any tricks unturn to save themselves.
