Nobody surprised no Minister dare to raise in Cabinet that Najib is “Emperor with no clothes” in his wild and reckless allegation that Bersih 3.0 rally is an Opposition coup attempt to topple the government

Nobody is surprised that no Minister dare to ask the Cabinet at its weekly meeting yesterday to openly apologise for the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s wild, baseless and reckless allegation that Bersih 3.0 rally was a coup attempt by the Opposition to topple the government.

Otherwise, the Barisan Nasional Government and the Najib Cabinet would not have suffered such a grave credibility gap that the sixth Prime Minister and his Ministers are increasingly become the butt of jokes of Malaysians, whether for their words or deeds, in a manner which had not befallen the Cabinets of the previous five Prime Ministers.

Najib’s Ministers will privately agree that the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein have not been able to produce an iota of evidence to substantiate such a preposterous allegation, despite public and dubious backing by three former Inspectors-General of Police, Tun Hanif Omar, Tan Sri Rahim Noor and Tan Sri Musa Hassan, and that the last nail for the coffin of such a preposterous allegation was driven home in Parliament on Wednesday by none other than the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz who could not produce any evidence in reply to my question specifically asking for proof for such an allegation.

But in public, no Minister will dare to say that Najib is behaving as “the Emperor with no clothes” in his wild, reckless and baseless allegation that Bersih 3.0 is a coup attempt by the Opposition to topple the government by force on April 28.

It is most unfortunate that Najib had failed to make use of the first week of Parliament to offer an olive branch to the hundreds of thousands of Malaysians regardless of race, religion, class, region, age or gender who came out peacefully in Kuala Lumpur on April 28 for a common national cause to underline the Prime Minister’s own concern and support for clean elections.

Instead, in the first three days of Parliament this week, the Najib Ministers and their backbench cheerleaders continued to demonise and antagonize the hundreds of thousands of peaceful Bersih 3.0 protestors, particularly with Nazri’s canard that “salt and mineral water bottles” could topple the Barisan Nasional government.

Najib should realize that he is doing himself and the Barisan Nasional a grave disservice in continuing to countenance irrational and baseless attacks on the Bersih 3.0 rally, and that he himself, UMNO and Barisan Nasional would have to pay a heavy price for such irresponsible politicking in the next general election, whenever it is held.

  1. Only peaceful assemblies are protected under international human rights law and international moral opinion. So no assembly or march based on civil disobedience can claim itself peaceful if the marchers and protesters were armed with anything more than salt and water…That does not mean that if peaceful nonviolent protests were persistent widespread – and large in numbers – they will not bring a government by moral force down in a way other than the ballot box. For the authorities normally react aggressively to stymie such protests and their aggressive and violent acts will result in casualties that create their own momentum of popular outrage to force the incumbent government out. Mahatma Gandhi’s civil disobedience movement preached discipline, thought, care, attention by protesters and marchers who were told like Bersih’s supporters never to provoke retaliation. Yet it brought eventually the British Empire Down. Those who protested against Ferdinand Marcos had one but merely one more equipment that salt and water – the cellphones!

  2. People who want clean and fair elections are angry with Najib because he tries to evade the issue of a flawed electorate roll by giving the excuse that Bersih 3.0 was a coup attempt by the Opposition to topple the government. We shall see how people’s anger is going affect BN votes in GE13.

  3. The demonisation of Bersih do clearly shows Najib to be a leader severely lacking in substance – making stuff up so that he don’t have to face the challenge before it – its the stuff of squirming excuse-giving pencil -pushers, not leaders of men and organisation…

If our children do what he does – making stuff up when they have done something wrong – we would be shocked and horrified. But just because he is PM and does the same thing, we are NOT outraged? It reflects poorly on our citizenship as Malaysian..

  4. They cannot defend themselves and every thing they do or say are seem by Malaysians as idiots and clowns.
It’s like a criminal being questioned by police and to keep on denying or avoid confessing…go watch how these criminal mumble and jumble nonsense to control the criminal minds from spilling the beans.
    Similarities are there.
Najib and his band of robbers and thieves are hoping for the less educated Malaysians can be fooled by them.

  5. Since no one is surprised, let me talk about something else. Yup. Something that will surely surprise i am sure the umnoputras. Yeah. Some pendatang apparently sent a female angkasawan into space and in a certain pendatang made space ship or something. How could that be? Umno is suppose to be supreme. So how dare the pendatangs do that? Celaka betul the motherland of pendatangs.

  6. Just when you think Najib can do no worst, he goesto Sabah and called Anwar’s failed Sept 16 attempt ‘the biggest lie’ – just boggles the mind what he understand to be a ‘big lie’…

How is a failed attempt to get BN MP’s to cross over such a terrible ‘lie’ compared to the demonisation of Bersih or the cover up of Scorpene, PKFZ, Defense Contracts, toll-contracts – even just BR1M, KR1M and even just Felda listing?

You really wonder about Najib’s sense of propriety by implying these things less important than Anwar’s spin on things..It seems that so long as something come close to threatening the power of UMNO/BN – its worst sin in hell compare do anything they do like TREASON and turning this country into Greece.

  7. “Pro-Pakatan urban folk preaching to empty audience, says Kayveas”

This was what Kayveas say as reported.

When Titanic sunk into the Ocean 100 years ago, let the music play on…

When BN sink in the coming GE, let their dreams dream on

All the BN ministers are out dated and remain in their corrupted sweet dream till they wake up to the reality come the next GE

  8. Najib can only offer money and more money to buy over people’s votes. He is now only a empty shell who makes the biggest noise. Corrupted to the core as he will only says ” what submarine, what mongolian girl you are talking about. I don’t know! They killed her not me.”

  9. It was not the many bottled water or the amount of salt that put Najib, Hishamuddin, Nazri, the Police and the government in fear of being toppled.

It was the 250,000 people carrying these that gave them the shivers, the nightmares and the constipation.
