I read CSL speech (MCA 58th AGM). Sound okay in rhetoric, but can he match it with actions. Walk the talk as he expects others who are not in power to do.
The PKFZ scandal persisted since three previous MCA transport ministers. Are they going to continue keeping quiet, and hope the people will forget?
The MCA believes in peaceful dissent. How come they did not support Bersih in the first place. Tear gas and water cannons were fired into a hospital. Its minister promised an investigation, but nothing happens. Looks like empty vessel making noises. there is absolutely no concern of the two new laws to replace the repressive ISA. At least, state that detention without trail is not in the best interests of the rakyat. It is a weapon of colonialists and repressive regimes.
He is right to say, “the rakyat want a more just society and a fairer business environment that emphasizes meritocracy, inclusiveness and transparency.” Will MCA be able to even speak out against negotiated tenders, IPP’s and other rent seeking projects. All Petronas dealings are hidden. What transparency are they talking about. Even the PM himself is helpless. His ETP, NEM, 1Malaysia, People First, are nothing but a load of talk, talk, talk, but absolutely no walk.
Robert Kwok has only the hotel business left in Malaysia. Genting and YTL have already set up businesses in Singapore. A year ago, I heard the capital flight amounted to RM888 billion. Isn’t that an indication of capital flight for safer havens.
There should be a total review of the education system. It is in shambles because of too much political input. Primary education should be confine to the 3R’s or perhaps 4R’s, viz reading, writing, arithmetic and perhaps reasoning. All kinds of rubbish are introduced into the primary school curriculum. There are no remedial teaching in schools. We have some students finishing secondary school, yet unable to read and write.
CSL talks of supporting the teaching of science and maths in secondary schools, but do not have the courage of bringing the party’s idea out in the open. Merely saying at an AGM is not good enough.
When subsidies were removed, MCA says nothing. When you remove fuel subsidies, transport and production costs definitely go upwards. Now you are suggesting handouts. Damn, don’t you know that it is better to “teach a child to fish than to fish for him.” After one handout, what is the poor man suppose to do? Vote for you because you gave one handout? On the top of it, you are supporting GST and stating that it will lower costs. Can any taxes lower costs. Have privatization of many government companies lower the costs of living for the people? The gomen is short of money and is looking at ways and means of pinching from the people.
MCA is supposed to represent the Chinese. It has be unable to mitigate on our behalf at all. It can’t even mitigate for itself. It was called the abused wife, but could not say anything. If we have Chinese ministers, does it make much of a difference. Someone says, they are like mannequins.
CSL says “he consider himself a winnable candidate everywhere he goes”, yet many MCA like him hide under Umno’s sarong.
Like KTK, keep hiding! Come next GE, give some money to SRJK! everything will be fine…
///How come they did not support Bersih in the first place…….there is absolutely no concern of the two new laws to replace the repressive ISA…….When subsidies were removed, MCA says nothing.///
In BN only Big Brother UMNO has the right to make decision. MCA, Gerakan and MIC have no say in decision making.
He spoke..saying he is winnable candidate..wherever he stands for election.
Lets see he stands against Lim Guan Eng or Lim Kit Siang….or Karpal Singh…if he dares.
He enjoying talking nonsense to perform his last act.
He knows it too well…and hope voters laugh and vote him in as the Chinese court jester …while Ibrahim Ali is the Malay court jester….as Oppositions.
The day MCA speaks against corruptions….Najib will throw all back door ministers into dust bins.
If Najib will not do it…DPM will.
Time and time again…UMNO b told MCA to toe the line or get out.
You think Chua dares to talk about PKFZ… RM12.5 billion ripped off by Liong Sik.. with the approval of Mahathir?
//Sound okay in rhetoric, but can he match it with actions. //
The only action he is capable of is the one he undertook on Angela in Batu Pahat hotel, and that only after consuming viagra.
OK in rhetoric? Why are the critics even apologist for BN?
First and foremost, it does not address a lot of critical issues to MCA going into election – Perkasa, corruption, etc. Secondly, even on the issue like ISA removal, it does not send the main message that it cannot be cosmetic and on education, not a mention of absolute meritocracy as the only viable choice.
OK? I keep seeing my senile old uncle talking and all the relatives are running away..
It is beyond any doubt that both BN and MCA are trying to bury PKFZ in the Pacific Ocean as soon as possible. They will be able to do it, thinking if they could by a stroke of miracle get two-thirds majority! Though the option of losing Putrajaya is something they wanted to put in the afterburner. The rip-off on PKFZ has been divided as per plan, hence any investigation into it will guarantee that BN will suffer even more danages. Can you imagine a Staff-3, KSU couldn’t find the actual amount of 7.5% of $1.8 billion with a CALCULATOR! Yes, it is arranged to show such ignorance of a civil servant at the highest level in an open court. The conclusion is simple if such highly paid official couldn’t, how could the Minister? With regard to education policy we all know the objective of the policy: keep them ignorant; they would easier to lead with a ring in the nose! CSL and his 40% CDs should be totally removed from the political scene for a start, if the community, as MCA and Bn still love to divide the nation to rule, take this stand, let see whehter CSL would ask WKS to cry again!
Wow, look at MCA’s secret weapons: pretty maids in a row paraded 4 its pres 2 view n ……..
B careful, PR, keep an eye on 1 of your senior guys, no want another blue video in Carcosa
Seks n politics, h’mmmm, great n explosive combination, some more with UM, BH, n d Star all ready 2 sing n blare, add salt, sugar, n vinegar, best sellers lor
Have the MCA pornstar the marbles to stand in one of the FT seats?…perhaps, Bukit Bintang…he should be quite familiar in this area. Come on MCA sure win candidate, show us you have jngle bells!!
All these MCA clowns trumpet about a New Deal, as though we don’t know what the fair-minded rakyat really wants. They talk about meritocracy in contracts and in education. They talk about freedom of the press. They talk about civil liberties. Everyone attending the MCA General Assembly nods their heads and say “Aye”….including the real MCA boss Najib.
Then, after the MCA General Assembly, everyone forgets about the New Deal. UMNO goes about issuing contracts to whoever they like. The quotas for scholarships and entrance into universities remain. The press remains shackled. Then some MCA bigwig decides that she should also give some small contracts to her cronies under the Curi Curi Malaysia scheme.
What changes ? It is a New Deal only if there are consequences should the New Deal fail to materialise. If there are no consequences for failure to deliver the New Deal, then it cannot be a New Deal. It’s called “Business As Usual”.
Why no comment about the 40 pct of MRT contracts reserved for bumiputras ? Why no comment about the proposed abolition of teaching of science and maths in English ?
At every MCA general assembly, we hear of sad stories, sad cases of Malaysian chinese being marginalised, whether it is in education or in contracts. Then the stories repeat themselves the following year, and the year after. We hear of Perkasa telling CSL not to be a hero, for all MCA candidates are not winnable without UMNO support.
At the next GE, we are going all out to ensure that MCA is consigned to the rubbish heap, and that the only way they are going back in reckoning is to walk the talk.
Same bottle, no wine.
