Pakatan Rakyat “Cabinet” – mischief-makers at work

A Pakatan Rakyat “Cabinet” list was mysteriously circulated to parliamentary reporters yesterday and I was asked whether there is any basis to it.

It is utter bunkum as the Pakatan Rakyat leaders had never discussed any such Cabinet line-up.

It is in fact the second so-called Pakatan Rakyat “Cabinet” line-up concocted by Barisan Nasional mischief-makers.

Malaysiakini has carried a story on it, viz:

Bogus Pakatan ‘shadow’ cabinet list appears

A bogus list – purportedly the ‘new’ cabinet line-up to be unveiled by the Pakatan Rakyat alliance should they succeed in forming a new government – is being distributed in Parliament.

The origin of the list, which features PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim as prime minister and finance minister, is unknown.

However, Pakatan MPs said it is not from them.

“It is ridiculous. It does not have me on it,” quipped Dr Hatta Ramli (PAS, Kuala Krai).

“The list is ridiculous. I think the Barisan Nasional supporters might have done it,” said Bukit Mertajam DAP MP Chong Eng.

A copy of the list was found at Umno election operation centre in Permatang Pauh (photo).

The ‘shadow’ cabinet line-up names three deputy prime ministers.

Deputy prime minister number one will be DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang. The MP for Ipoh Timur will also be placed in charge of internal security.

R Sivarasa (PKR-Subang) was listed as deputy prime minister number two and minister of legal and judiciary matters.
The third slot for deputy prime minister will go to SAPP supremo Yong Teck Lee, who will also be asked to head the Rural Development Ministry.

Hadi, Karpal to be senior ministers

Noticeably low on the list is PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang (Marang), whose party recently voiced hopes of him becoming premier instead of Anwar.

Hadi was named senior minister in charge of religious affairs, while another veteran Karpal Singh (DAP-Bukit Gelugor) was picked to be minister for integrity affairs and federal ties.

William Leong (PKR-Selayang) will act as economics cum international trade and industry minister and PKR vice president Azmin Ali (PKR-Gombak) is poised to become the second finance minister.

Meanwhile, PAS Youth chief and Kubang Kerian MP Salahuddin Ayub said the appearance of the list showed rising fear that Anwar’s persistent claim of wresting control of the government from BN might come true.

“I think the list is the product of fear of the fact that Anwar is rising to power,” said Salahuddin.

  1. But you all miss the point.

These mysterious circulars have emerged frequently from time to time with no one being responsible or caught for their distribution.

    So the question is:

Is Parliament safe and secure? What if this same person places some C4 or something in the building? Are there no CCTV to monitor the goings on in the premises? What has the Minister in charge of Parliament got to say about the security and administration of the place?

And just today, there was another major leak in Parliament, the leak of the water kind.

It looks like the Parliament building is “sway” or is “haunted” by invisible and mysterious beings.

Do some pooja prayers or something to please the spirits.

  2. In a country where there is no FREEDOM of PRESS….who cares what UMNO-BN write and report. We must work towards the freedom of Religion, Press and From ISA…then we talk about how to improve Malaysia. Right now We just need to focus on Obliterating MCA and MIC and later UMNO……those shoe lickers MIC/MCA, Gerakan now fearing what would happen to them…..so unloved!!

  3. But this is UMNO’s ruse..using it to say…so few Malays in the cabinet.
It is always the out-dated race and religion politics.
    UMNO is gone case!
Little by little…Malaysians will control them
No matter what they will say.No matter how hard Khairy is trying to convince voters…Anwar sodomized Saiful…..Malaysians are all set .to throw UMNO out……and the Permantang Pauh…result..will show more.
Malaysia is heading towards a united country..after 52 years.
Reality will start from next general election.

  4. Well, well – Just as predicted. We’re close to the Awakening day. Just 3 more days. Somehow, a (Bermuda Triangle) – “Permatang triangle” will shares its many mysterious legends as well.

Many more “Suddenly” will be reported. Things and people will go missing and probably go unexplained. BN goons will be living in Twilight-zones?

Strange enough BN remain unusually ‘low key’ in this ‘Cabinet’ thing? One can’t help but wonder WHY. Reduce price on petrol have been postpone till Sep as if Goment testing our obedience?

A New star Khairy just got a new job office- at Graveyard PP. His looking for his first customer.

Then, as if trying to divert attention, we have “Najib backs women’s flexi-hours!” DPM spending time on this?

Somehow, BN really good at entertaining the world by “Doing Wrong Thing at The Right Time” or simply “Doing The Right Thing at the Wrong Time” or just “No Right No Wrong” – Hantam Only lah?

  5. Infantile politics. We now have bogus cabinet lineup list, swearing on the holy Koran, sodomy charges, American stooge allegation, sex and money investigation in Perak exco, malay unity issue and what have you. All these designed are to fool the rakyat to vote for Umno/BN but we the rakyat have grown up and are more discriminating after reaching 51 years old.

  6. Dear YB, BeEnd is and will be creating many issues even after PP by-election.
PR elected MP and Assemblymen should be wary of their positions and actions and not sway from their duties.

The actions within PR does not paint a good picture on and it does reflect well and BeEnd is capitalising on it. Get your act together because even if PR have a chance to be the next Fed, it would probably in shambles. That’s why the so called list is distributed, again to instill fear and confusion among Rakyat.

Just watch your backs and be careful of hidden daggers. Righteousness and rakyat’s frustration of BeEnd had propelled LGE to his current position and PR needs to show unity and strength to Rakyat. Absence of these cohesive factors will eventually lead to PR’s downfall just as the previous elections.

  7. Please tell dsai not to worry and millions of malaysian understand the past is the past. DSAI is the true hero and his past is already paid when he consolidate six years in prison. He is a more and better person now. Unfortunately, what afraid me is the media who is over publish personal attack news to facilitate BN to inched up.
Many malaysian avoiding wasting RM 1.20 instead of buying newspaper they buy rather spend the dollar twenty for another loaf of gardenia.

  8. I believe that it could be an umno internal joke that has gone public. They can predict for all they want. But really, PR need not be troubled by it. In any event, the public, by and large, is extremely distrustful of the mainstream media and of news emanating from UMNO. So not many people would actually buy such info.

The PP campaign is going well and I cant see anwar ibrahim not winning the by election. So stay on course, keep the PR’s objectives in clear view and full steam ahead, fellas.

PR’s appointed exco members in Perak were arrested for suspected corruption. It is a good thing actually. That is what PR wanted all along. If there are corrupt practices, then nip them in the bud, quickly and effectively. Let the public know about it. Publicised it so that like-minded people would be detered. Investigate, arrest, charge, convict and then imprison them. PR must not let such practices grow and turn into a culture, into organised corrupt practices like how umno did by denial, by transferring them elsewhere, by dragging the investigation etc etc -in short by doing all sorts of things except punishing the wrongdoer.

The desire to engage oneself in corruption is actually the end product of umno’s very effective mechanism in covering up wrongdoings. People may come and people may go, but the corrupt culture would never leave. PR must be firm on this matter. Once the people, both within and without the system realise that PR means business, the culture will definitely snap.

  9. Obviously UMNO is desperate enough to create this pychic fears amongst the lesser informed rural people with the sales tack that the non-malays are taking over the country with DSAI. But they forget that some times heaven will just answer their prayer!

  10. if PR is able to discuss the shadow cabinet line-up and come to conclusion – I trust they will make it known to rakyat.
PR will not announce soemthign which they are yet discuss, compromise and confrim.
Thus, apparently this created by PR enemy.

Everyone will have such thought when they hear this.
SO, the prupose of distributing the list shall gain its opposite way, instead .

  11. Forming the next govt is true but not the list!!! BN knows very well that the next govt is going to be PR and they just help to prepare the list in advance for PR to go through, so that PR gets some ideas who should hold which post, but it is not up to BN to dictate as it will soon lose the federal govt power!!!

  12. I just saw the poster on this suppose potential Cabinet line up. Its clearly UMNO work. You want to know why?

Because it looks a lot like the current BN organization!!! A PR govt will HAVE TO DRASTICALLY CHANGE THE PORTFOLIO STRUCTURE.

Really BN boys tactics have not improved ….

  13. I guess the BN (read: UMNO) has not learnt from the last GE?!
Thier dirty tactics do not work anymore. Their main focus is on the “bogus” Sodomy allegations against DSAI & Saiful’s swearing on the Quran (I’m surprised Muslims here have not objected to the way this “worm” & UMNO have misused their Holy Book!).
Obviously the EC will be working “full time” to ensure that UMNO get “extra” phantom votes too.
Permatamg Pauh voters, I bet are not that stupid. Just follow the advice of one PAS Ketua Kampung, who said before the last GE, “when UMNO give us Cloth, we take it, when they give us makan we eat but when it’s time to vote, we vote for PAS!!!!!”

  14. How big is this “cabinet”? If it’s jumbo-sized then it’s obviously a cheap concoction.

We want a lean and mean governming machine. Learn from the mainland Chinese with 1.3b people.

  15. This is clearly the work of the BN go_ns trying to fool the rakyat.
Now everything seems to be “COINCIDENTAL” as claimed by our BN go_ns during this Permatang election.
    1. Sai the FOOL swearing
    2. DNA law
    3. Arrest of Perak State Exco men in Perak by our so-
    called world “efficient” ACA.
    4. Lee Chong Wei award ceremony
    5. Millions$$$ to chinese schools
    6. Sleepy flipflop guy trying to show the rakyat that
he “cares” by commuting on the KTM.

Will not be surprise more “coincidentals” coming these next few days.
These go_ns thought that the rakyat is naive and stupid.
Hope rakyat will give these clowns a big kick to their arses.
Dont worry we have a bunch of higly qualified Sodomy experts in some of our gevernment hospitals who will handle their arses.

  16. Ironically, some of the suggestions are nor bad at all – and almost to a person, the PR “nominations” are better than the current cabinet.

Badawi will be a tough one to emulate. Anwar can’t possibly sleep as much.

  17. No new policies, no investments in education, health and trade,
only dirty tricks are in the minds of BN leaders. They will stoop to the lowest to clinch on to power….even prepare to cross the boundary of all human decency.
Do we need another 51 years to be administered by these UMNO monkeys?

  18. UMNO produced the list to make PAS ppl angry and not vote for PKR in P Pauh. Lousy strategy. Only UMNO is capable of doing this type of thing.

I want to see how SIL can bury DSAI in PPauh. Maybe he needs to bury himself, this shameless and gutless small fart of UMNO Youth.

  19. What a dirty by-election. UMNO brought out all the dirtiest tricks – sex, racism, ….. This was never the case before. UMNO must be so desperate, as if the end of their world is very near. They know about it. The people would know about it.

  20. Edison University of Technology

The Star reported that Arif Shah bin Omar Shah, the BN’s candidate for the Permatang Pauh by-election is currently pursuing a PhD at Edison University of Technology (out-campus programme).

Google: No match for such a university!!!

A phantom university as in phantom voters created by BN?

*Disclaimer: Many Internet based universities have names very similar (and sometimes the same) to genuine universities in other countries. Just because a university name appears on the lists below does not mean there isn’t an accredited university of the same name. Prospective students therefore should not accept or reject a university just because its name appears on a list provided by Unidegree.com, which takes no responsibility for prospective student actions due to the publication of the following lists. Unidegree.com would welcome communication from universities whose names appear in these lists and are either genuinely accredited, or have been misclassified, and it will be happy to revise the list once the error is confirmed. Students should ask a university the following questions before making their choice of an education:

Does the university provide an address of a campus location (many unaccredited universities have only PO Boxes or mailing addresses)

If a campus location is given, do they have students at that campus? If so, how many? Do not be afraid of asking such questions.

Is the university a private university? Does the university have accreditation? Who has provided this accreditation? Is the accrediting agency recognised by a government authority?

Is the university claiming to give degree purely for “Life Experience” without any formal coursework? Some students may actually want such an institution.

  21. Through this by-election, I also saw the real side of some of the Malays. Because of short term gain, they are willing to sell their friend, thus their own soul and mind. This is really shameful and disgrace for Malay as a race. Don’t ever tell us they are the good Malays and Muslims. Shame on you all and should be burnt in the hell

    Anwar laments attitude of ex-buddies
    Athi Veeranggan | Aug 22, 08 1:11pm
Anwar Ibrahim, PKR candidate for Permatang Pauh, can stomach the personal attacks from top Umno leaders – he expected it. However the barrage of abuse from local Umno leaders, has made him quite distraught.

  22. Dear All,

It goes to show that the people behind the circulation of this flier are desperately trying to ignite the flame of racial discord among Malaysians. They have yet to mature above racial politics and trying hard to hoodwink the Malays that Anwar will surrender Malay supremacy to DAP in exchange of power. The multi racial governing concept highly projected by Pakatan Rakyat may have to go through this litmus test before it is widely accepted by Malaysians. However, the bitter pill that they need to swallow is that there will spoilers coming in to destroy the concept. Will this concept be permenantly damaged by the spoiler groups is yet to be seen. This is sure an uphill task for Pakatan Rakyat as demonstrated at the recently concluded PAS General Assembly and the ruckus at the Bar Council.

The apparent mud slinging between a few DAP stalwarts with PKR’s representative at Parliament recently was another example that the spoiler group could effectively manipulate.

  23. If PR top brass had sit down in a formal meeting and discuss the shadow cabinet line-up earlier… this silly episode would not have happen.

PR leaders so far has shown that they are not mature governors, still very much in the opposition mindset. But then I know that you guys are new to the governing job and some teething pain are sure to crop up.. so you are forgiven just this time, OK?

YB Kit, I hope you take note.

  24. Pakatan Rakyat knows that before they list out their cabinet, they will have to blank out the existing list of cabinet members first,so, they should start blanking out the existing corrupt ones that have been identified and be ready with the new ministers list for replacement. I think at least 70% will be blanked out or more.

So this is not the work of PR because they are still watching out for the corrupt ones in PP by -election but it is circulated by people of the lowest grade of mentality and with the worst kind of behaviour of a restless B(aboo)N.

  25. If PR is serious and ready to form the federal government, it is time PR sit down to form a shadow cabinet line up. This will be serious test for PR’s cohesivenes and unity but this has to be done now to allay any potential fears that PR parties cannot give and take. This will put to rest any `speculations’

Sometimes I wonder why this has not been done yet. Is it really true that they just don’t want to do it now or that they know that it’s going to a herculan task and that it will ruffle a lot of feathers and test PR’s unity?
