“Abdullah: We do not fear Anwar – ‘Govt won’t stop him from contesting but due process of law cannot be ignored’” – this Star headline today is symptomatic of what is wrong with the Abdullah administration, that it is terribly obsessed and mortally worried about the Anwar factor in Malaysian politics.
Otherwise, why should Abdullah be dwelling on the subject of Anwar in the past two consecutive days, as if he has nothing more important to fret about – with the grave political, economic and nation-building crisis faced by 26 million Malaysians as well as his possible legacy to go down in history as the worst Prime Minister of Malaysia despite his glorious electoral mandate in 2004.
Instead of being haunted by the Anwar factor, Abdullah and his Cabinet should focus on the latest opinion poll of the independent Merdeka Centre for Opinion Research, conducted between July 4-16 from 1,030 Malaysians, which found among others the following:
1. For the first time, Abdullah’s popularity has plunged from a record high of 91 per cent in November 2004 to 61 per cent in January 2008 (just before the March 8 general election), down to 53 per cent in April 2008. With the unchecked free-fall in the past three months, Abdullah’s popularity rating has crashed below 50% in the latest survey to 42%.
2. The popular “satisfaction” quotient with the Barisan Nasional federal government has also fallen below 50%, with 54 per cent either “somewhat dissatisfied” or “very dissatisfied” with the Barisan Nasional government, while 44 per cent said they were either “very satisfied” or “somewhat satisfied”.
3. Only half of the respondents agree that the leaders in the Barisan Nasional government understand what the ordinary people are going through – with 16% for “strongly agree” and 34 per cent for “somewhat agree” while 47% polled negative (18% for “strongly disagree” and 29% for “somewhat disagree”); and 3% for “Don’t know”.
4. Asked on satisfaction with Umno “as a political party in reflecting the aspirations and needs of the people of Malaysia”, there was a resounding “No” from 58% of the respondents (25% “Very dissatisfied” and 33% “Somewhat dissatisfied”), with positive response only from 36% (10% “Very satisfied” and 26% “Somewhat satisfied”). There was 5% “Don’t know” and 1% “No response”.
5. On whether Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak would make a good prime minister, there was another resounding “No”, with 47% negative responses (21% “Strongly disagree” and “26% somewhat disagree”) as against 34% positive response (8% “Strong agree” and 26% “somewhat agree”). There were 17% responses for “Don’t know” and 2% for “No response.”
6. In November 2006, 72% expressed satisfaction “with the way thing are going in the country at present”. This has plunged to 63% in December 2007, 66% just before the March 8 general election, 44% in May and a dismal 28% in July 2008.
7. In October 2006, 59% viewed the economy favourably. This has plunged to 24% in July 2008. In Oct. 2006, 49% viewed favourably the “current economic conditions compared to three years ago”. This has plunged to 19% in July 2008. In Oct. 2006, 57% favourably “expected the economy to be one year from now”. This has plunged to 20% in July 2008.
8. 55 percent of the respondents do not believe the sodomy allegations leveled against Anwar. Only 11 percent believed in the allegations, while 26 percent said they did not know if the claims were true. Eight percent gave no response.
9. Two-thirds, or 66 percent, of the respondents believed that the accusations against Anwar Ibrahim were politically motivated.
10. The majority of the respondents polled showed that they have no confidence that the judiciary, the Attorney-General’s Chambers and the police would carry out their roles in handling Anwar’s Sodomy II case in a fair and independent manner – i.e. 50% against the judiciary, 53% against the Attorney-General and 55% against the Police.
We are celebrating the 51st Merdeka anniversary in less than a month on August 31 with the country facing the worst multiple crisis of confidence in the nation’s history.
I call on Abdullah to take the bold and courageous step to drop Anwar’s Sodomy II persecution as the first step to end the free-fall in public confidence in him as Prime Minister and in the ability, vision and leadership of the Barisan Nasional Cabinet and government to tide the country through the current political, economic and nation-building crisis.
umno warlords are accusing anwar of contesting in his own hometown, a safe seat. But what about the PM himself who also contested in his own safe seat hometown of Kepala Batas? Why didn’t the PM contest in Kelantan during the previous polls?

Bodohwi the sleepy head & najis the good for nothing are both obssessed with “liwat”. How else to explain the top 2 leaders of bolehland which is facing dire times due to the uncertain economy do not put in any efforts to improve the country’s economy for the sake of the rakyat. All they do every hour every day is to think and imagine about “liwat”. Not only that most of the other govt ministers also spend their time fantasising “liwat”. Yes, that is the characteristics of a progressive developing country. Yes, the male chicken can also lay eggs! Such disgusted idiots.
The longer they linger on Anwar’s sodomy II persecution, the greater is the freefall of public confidence in the PM.
PR’s no-confidence vote against the PM is COMPLETELY justifiable in the wake of such poor showing of confidence by the rakyat in the PM.
BN is effectively a collapsed party.

M’sian PM has ‘forgotten’ about Anwar
Thu, Feb 14, 2008 AFP
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14, 2008 (AFP) – Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on Thursday insisted dissident politician Anwar Ibrahim was not a factor in upcoming elections, saying he had “forgotten” about him.
Anwar has objected to the timing of the polls on March 8, just a month before he is eligible to run for office after a ban expires, saying it was designed to keep him out of the race.
“Nothing to do with that,” Abdullah said after a meeting with top leaders of the ruling United Malays National Organisation (UMNO).
“We have forgotten about Anwar. I don’t remember about Anwar,” he told reporters.

Ahhh..hmmm….Mr Pee M, sorry to have spooked you this much!!
Saiful took 4 hours to visit HKL. During that interval, he can change the test results using plastic sticks, broom sticks, etc. to bruise his anus. So, Anwar, has a good case to fight.
Fellow netizens
i am faced with a dilemma. how do i explain to my 15 yo kid this mess propagated by the bolehland press on sodomy. i was asked as to why is the topic so popular that even gomen ministers including the pm & dpm are spending so much of their precious time talking about it instead of planning & working sincerely to develop the country. afterall ours is but a still developing one.
aiyah, really tough to justify how the gomen devote majority of their working hours as well as resources doing this useless work which contribute to the negative image of the country & also making us a big laughing stock in the face of the world.
will sincerely like to hear from anyone if you have a solution to this toughie. thanks.
YB Kit, Sir,why are you giving these opinion poll figures from the independent Merdeka Centre for Opinion Research to Bodohwe cos he won’t be able interpret its implications for this character like melurian, is simply stumped by figures. They are just brain-dead when confronted by figures. Besides all he is interested in is to think of ways of how to do Anwar in for this Anwar chappy is such a pain in his a..e.
Even though some UMNO members disapproved such unethical fabrication of sodomy against DSAI, yet power-hunger UMNO heads decided to go ahead – they are digging an early grave for their own party!
I think there is a mistake here:
“7. In October 2006, 59% viewed the economy favourably. This has plunged to 24% in July 2008. In Oct. 2008, 49% viewed favourably the “current economic conditions compared to three years ago”.
=====
It should be: …plunged to 24% in July 2007. In Oct 2007, 49%…….
[Thanks, Smith. One right and one wrong.
1. “…plunged to 24% in July 2007.” is right.
2. In Oct. 2008, 49% viewed favourably the “current economic conditions compared to three years ago” – should be Oct. 2006. Corrected.
Many thanks.
And just for your information. One of your blog comments has been used to mount an election petititon to disqualify Chong Jian Jen as MP for Bandar Kuching.

I think Anwar is on this idiot PM’s mind 24 hours a day.
It seems he is suffering from a mental condition called “Anwar paranoia”.
I think he might die of a heart attack when Anwar win the by election.
This idiot PM is sick upstairs!!!
AS THE race towards the Umno elections starts, a powerful divisional Umno leader has lodged a complaint against Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi and his deputy Najib Razak for breaching party election rules. – Malaysia Today.
——————————————————————-
The PM should be more worried of internal party threats which try to unseat him instead of putting his entire attention on DSAI.
This Bodohwi administration is simply not listening…typical of a arrogant and corrupted govt. We have waited for 51 years, what is there, to wait for the coming of the next GE. It is better to make this mafia mob history.
It is too late for PM to turn back. Rice has become porridge. So it has to move on to prosecute Anwar and do all the power crazy thing.
What come soon will be very interesting for both Anwar and UMNO. Watch and see.
Yawns……..aiyaaa sien liao lah. Tell him also useless lah. He wont follow. Let the result in PP poll tells. Sure Anwar will win big.
YB LKS,
If PM and DPM is sincere in their belief that DSAI is not a factor to consider, then why not drop the imminent charges and allowed DSAI to contest the upcoming Permatang Pauh’s election free from encumberances to let the electrorates decide.
They should be man enough to face DSAI who at the moment is just an ordinary citizen and see whether both of them are preferred over DSAI as the people’s choice or altenatively DSAI is the rakyat’s choice. Fight it out fairly and squarely and don’t resort to underhand tactics. DSAI does not have the advantage of incumbency and the huge govt machinery.
If both feared DSAI who is an ordinary citizen, then something is not right with the government and scared of the ” expose ” later.
The rakyat will know then how to make their choice, wisely of course.
However, I fear that the PM is up to his tricks of playing games again either by delaying the holding of Permatang Pauh’s by-election or make an arrest of DSAI on nomination day.
Apa pun boleh in Bolehland.
AAB is too ‘malu’ to admit that he is obsessed with Anwar. The entire UMNO is obsessed with Anwar but just don’t want to admit it. For all you know, if Anwar were to fart in public, they will mount a case against him!
A very reasonable and rational request by Kit Siang who I believed have verbalised what many Malaysians feel in their hearts.
But the sad fact of the matter is that, Badawi will not do so.
For reasons best known to the conspirators of this sodomy II allegations ,they believe that can put Anwar behind bars again though all the facts of the matter surfacing thus far have shown a case as full of holes as a sponge!!!
And so, the legal circus will be paraded again and whatever talk of judicial independence will be shown to be as hollow as all the promises of ‘cemerlang, gemilang dan terbilang’ have been.
Pardon me, maybe he means it in the context of conning all fair-minded and justice-loving Malaysians.
I am sure u folks hv heard recently by one of the Umno goons about Anwar the Tiger and they themselves BN goons the Monkeys fighting in the coming election. See, now they admit that they a bunch of monkeys running the government. How can the country move forward with monkeys running the goven. Rakyat must ensure the tiger wallop all these monkeys in Permatang.
Such concern for Saiful by our PM, it brings a tear to my eyes.
i still dont understand why uncle kit is fighting for anwar….no other better things to do meh?
PM AAB: We do not fear Anwar–Govt wont stop him from contesting but due process of law cannot be ignored.
It is reasonable to assume that even AAB does use his brain when he speaks. When the words ‘due process of law’ come together with contesting, it just mean that rule by law would be applied to Anwar to prevent him from contesting when it was possible to do. Of course Anwar cannot be found guilty of the fabricated crime. But due process means that the procedures in the name of upholding the law would be followed tot he extreme by BN government to harass Anwar. PM AAB is the last person who understand the meaning of due process of law, and which is why he is practicing selective persecution. He is justifying government action at persecuting Anwar when the person who claimed to his doctor that he had plastic instrument inserted into his anus chose to claim that he was sodomized. The claim attained the status of truth when the Deputy Prime minister was consulted. It would appear that before any police report would be given due attention, a meeting with DPM Najib should first be sought. Since DPM Najib had only 24 hours a day, police department should be downsized to match the number of cases Najib could handle for making police reports. Afterall, those reports made to police without prior screening by DPM Najib are ignored.
PM AAB claims that they do not fear Anwar. Yes if Anwar is just a member of parliament. But if Anwar becomes a PM and chooses to ensure rule of law, they will be afraid of the law.
BUT BUTT’S THE RAGE NOW
And just for your information. One of your blog comments has been used to mount an election petititon to disqualify Chong Jian Jen as MP for Bandar Kuching.

Awww… naughty Mr Smith… ;)
Mr Lim,
Why do you think Bodowi’s popularity would improve if he let go of Anwar’s sodomee persecution? Can you guarantee that? If you can, by how much percentage points? Too many ifs?
The Bodowi is on the slide. Let it be. When the time comes, just kick him off, sodomee of no sodomee. I think you have been waiting for this chance for a long, long time. So NOW is the opportunity. Why want to help him to gain more popularity points? I am very confused, unless there is a catch I don’t know about?
truth is anwar is just one of them…leopard never changes its spots….let ybkit becomes pm …..pm for all malaysians…
We have a bunch of CLOWNS in the cabinets.
So many issues the country need to address like:
1. Increasing CRIME rate.
2. Escalating inflation.
3. Increase petrol price by 42% Thinking ONLY of reducing price by 6 cts or 2.3%
Why SO-DO-MEE is top agenda for PM and DPM
The only reasons is this guy call ANWAR is in the way of stopping their plan
God willing, Anwar will win in the by election at Permatang Pauh. And it is not an easy task for UMNO to find the right candidate to contest in that by election, although several statements had been made that they are not afraid of Anwar, and the more often it is said, the more transparent it becomes that BN/UMNO are really, really worried that the BN/UMNO will lose badly. Don’t be surprised that BN/UMNO candidate may even lose his or her deposit.
Firdaus the former Imam of Masjid Negara who lost twice to Datin Seri Azizah felt this time around BN/UMNO will stand a chance to be elected as Penang is now controlled by Pakatan Rakyat, and that the people will vote the opposition – nice thinking but will that happened. On the other hand Anuar Musa from Kelantan was proposing that BN should boycott the by election instead, as it will be merely a waste of time and money to contest a by election that BN will definitely lose badly, and to stay away from the election will save all the embarrassment. For the first time, I quite agreed with Anuar Musa.
The UMNO in Permatang Pauh had long anticipated that Anwar will contest the by election in Permatang Pauh – a natural choice and sensible too. As expected BN/UMNO leaders manipulated on why Anwar should choose Permatang Pauh, and for the first time accepted the fact that Datin Seri Azizah did a good job as an MP of Permatang Pauh – Is that a sincere compliment???
Anwar choice of Permatang Pauh should not be questioned, and that Azizah will make way for Anwar to contest the by election has been known to the whole world, unless idiots from BN/UMNO anticipated something else.
It may be proper that Saiful who accused DSAI of sodomising him to be nominated as BN/UMNO candidate to contest in the by election against DSAI, and both of them can tell exactly what took place and what did not take place. Perhaps a live TV debate between the two could be aired over the TV channels. I am sure it will be a debate that many people would love to watch.
BN/UMNO should not have any problem to nominate Saiful, as of late the PM himself seemed to be concerned of the justice to be accorded to Saiful. After all the selection of candidate to represent BN/UMNO seemed to be facing some odds and picking Saiful will just be right.
Over to you Saiful to convince the voters at Permatang Pauh that you should be their elected candidate in Parliament. Being a national figure you could actually beat Khairy, and siapa nama…. bin Mathair during the Parliamentary sessions.
As usual, what Uncle Lim says will fall on deaf ears within BN. But LKS did not speak to Badawi. LKS is speaking to us Malaysian voters. If you think what LKS is right, please demonstrate in your own ways your disatisfaction with the state of affairs, in the loudest, clearest possible terms, to any powers that be that you come across.
Badawi will not act on what LKS says today. But like before, truth is mightiest, and soon enough, truth will bring down BN.
Good choice put SAIFUL there.
He has high ambition rub shoulder with DPM and noted by PM
May become PM one day.
So he can help all those RAKYAT suffer SO-DO-MEE
Only stupid fool will take the survey done by Merdeka Center seriously. How well can the opinion of merely 1,000 people be representative of the opinion of 2.6 million people of the entire nation? You should know the answer and anyone with common sense will know the survey is poorly conducted. But it has become a winfall for the opposition. So the bunch of coward is trying leverage on a piece of news which is slightly advantageous to them and make a big hooha out of it. Dah menang lah kali ni PR!
Kasim Amat..ooh Kasim Amat..you and all the other brown noses are so bloody ignorant and find it so difficult to face the facts. Nevermind, I’m sure you guys will not deny the results soon eh! The truth hurts as some may say..bawa bertenang dan terima hakikat.
Obssession with Anwar factor is because everything is power game and tussel. Anwar’s pitching for Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat (ahead of charges against him) is to give him a stronger national footing. Since sodomy allegations will be issue in by election a victory in Permatang Pauh will send the message that rakyat don’t beleive in the allgations and believe his contention of political conspiracy instead. It is a power game.
On BN’s side, they have no wish to be booted from power by the much touted vote of no confidence by defection of 30 or more MPs from BN (whether true or not). A charge of sodomy will send an important signal to “would be” lawmakers that any plans to defect to Pakatan Rakyat (PR) would be a bad calculation : Anwar will be brought down, and PR will dissolve when the person who glues the disparate PKR/DAP/PAS together goes down. The message sent is that they will be betting on a wrong horse, a horse with gangrenous foot, that couldn’t run and will be brought down. They will miss the gravy train. It is also their power game.
50 years in power, who would want to be brought down unceremoniously by a crossing of parliamentary floor by more than 30 defectors? It is not even by vote of the people in a general election. It is to be effected by cross overs based subterranean pacts and agrements stitched between Anwar and the ‘would be defectors’.
If the government actually falls by such an unconventional method (“unconventional” in context of our politics that has never seen such a thing), there is no even promise from PR of any amnesty for past misdeeds and corrupt acts. The spectre of a witch hunt looms should govt falls…. In such a scenario, there will be a rush to government offices, the shredders will be working overtime (ie if no civil disturbance has already occurred outside to either support or thwart a takeover by such an unconventional means).
To many people, this goes beyond just a fight for or to maintain political power and survival : it is a fight for personal survival whether one gets to keep ill gotten gains after evicted from power or face acountability and the slammer initiated by new set of ‘holier than thou’ people that have yet to have a record to prove that are indeed holier!
So it is much a fight for power and survival – more important than and transcending the normal rules of law, legal process, and so on.
The government may be concerned but not panicky at the results of latest opinion poll on falling popularity. In fact plunging popularity is the more urgent reason for them to neutralise the Anwar factor than leave that factor alone to concentrate on bolstering falling popularity!
They have got a full remaining term to change that before next election. The government’s power base is not popularity with rakyat when election is not called. They can stay in power as long as delegates, supeme council and the war lords of the various BN componet parties (principally UMNO) close rank and support the present incumbents and cabinet.
Just like at the opposite side. Anwar’s vying for cross overs of 30 or more law makers to form the government. This has nothing to do with majority popularity or otherwise of Anwar but whether he could by whatever powers or means of persuasion convince the 30 or more law makers earlier voted in under BN ticket to switch allegiance and sides.
So again it is about power and not so much rakyat or democartic expression of the rakyat bearing on outcome of whichever situation of whether incumbents get to stay in power by neutralising Anwar factor or new players led by Anwar triumph to displace them.
In such a power struggle, where winner takes all and loser falls to abyss, it is basically no holds barred and can take a very brutal form. All rules of civilised and democratic or fairness in engagement – or even Rule of law – (no matter how often repeated as justification will fly out of the window in a life and death power struggle of the form shaping up.
I agree that UMNO/BN leaders should not focus on the latest opinion poll. They should focus on how they could make an honorable exit from politics. Their new leaders could prepare themselves for their new roles in the opposition. After all they have never been in the opposition before and could do with a pointer or two from the current members of the opposition. It is never too late.
kit said,

=======================================
Yes, I have am aware of it.
But the fact of the matter is, it was my reply (an open letter) to an article by Wong Chun Wai in The Star. It was posted in my blog but I do not know how it landed in Chong’s blog.
In any case, I don’t see how an innocuous posting, relating to Christian’s unhappiness with the government, could have influenced the voters in Kuching. I reckon the vast majority of the voters there don’t even read or write English.
Nothing sensitive there.
DPM opens house, office to SODOMEE ppl.
PM Crusades personally for SODOMEE ppl.
WHY these 2 fella so interested in SODOMEE?
When our childrens are dying in the NS camps, and our children are still missing.
Very good PM, now please follow up closely for little NINIE, she’s been gone for way too long, have you fogotten oredi?
:(
Pak Lah will not be so silly to drop charges against Anwar at this point in time. To regain his party’s international standing and rakyat’s trust, Pak Lah may play the game out like this: Anwar is charged in court just before the Permatang Pauh by-election and the court declares him not guilty “citing insufficient evidence”. Pak Lah then has good reasons to boast that the Malaysian judiciary is neutral and the government does not interfere in police investigations. The fear of the rakyat and international community that Anwar will not be treated justly by the court is unwarranted. By playing out the game like this, Pak Lah not only restores his party’s international standing and instills confidence into the rakyat, but also raises UMNO’s chance of winning the Permatang Pauh seat.
Homey minister say what’s there nothing to drop when there is no charges made. Many other word play which rakyat is getting sick of & only causing negative perception to FDIs. Nothing intelligent has come out of PM, DPM, Homey, KJ up to now. That means, there are out of ideas. P-R should use as a backfire to BN during the upcoming campaign. BN-UMNO has created a smear campaign against DSAI as they know well that DSAI will gor for bi-election one day or another.
If there were no charges in the first place, then why is there anymore pursuance & what is the case all about? Just to creat a media sensation & tell the world that sodomy is a crime in M’sia so don’t do it??? If there’s no charge, then pursue what due process of law???
No police report disclosed to DSAI lawyer. No evidence to charge DSAI. DSAI was treated like a bank robber or 1st degree murderer (unlike those who use C4) when in lock up recently. Or is it that our PDRM is so efficient that until now they are still trying to find evidence? Can we just accuse & then look for evidence later? Is this the due process of law in M’sia that we want to project to the world? For this reason we are no different to Zimbabwe & our PM may as well be Mugabe.
BN-UMNO true hypocrites. PM contested in Kepala Batas. DPM contested in Pekan. OKT contested in Kulai. All safe seats. Yet they can make a brainless comment…esp coming from Oxford grad world’s richest unemployed. PM & DPM should stand for bi-election in Selangor or Kelantan. Rembau MP – a pot calling a kettle black – should try out in Penang or Kelantan too. Ask any of the UMNO MPs in those seat to step aside to them to contest there. Cakap tak serupa bikin. Pui.
Kassim Amat, hello, you are back!!
You are right, damn the report. Ignore it, because your boss has two Big Ears and can hear the real supporters, people like you.
“I am the PM for every body,” which means he is the PM for only his supporters. “I have big ears,” which means, he listens to selected few. “The price of petrol will not be raised,” which means it will be raised. “I am not getting married,” means he was getting married. “Parliament is not going to be dissolved,” which means it would be dissolved.
So, you are also selective in your hearing and reading. You mean you never noticed PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi performed as such? How sad, Kassim Amat.
“Only stupid fool will take the survey done by Merdeka Center seriously”- Kasim Amat,
Now, now who is stupid fool. I think you are KA! Why? What you say is reasonably true BUT the people who quote the survey are clever fool, unlike you STUPID fool. Only stupid fool need to hight to clever fool about this advantage and short about it!
NO LAH dont be so hard on En Kassim
En Kassim is just one of those who say
Bala..
SD1 false
SD2 true
and also the 33%….
Ai yah you cant have everyone say PM AAB no good.
Latest posting by RPK in MT alleges that Bodowi wants to press charges against Anwar but the Cabinet was not in favour. However, according the analysis, the PM has a hidden score to settle with his deputy and hope the case, if dragged to the courts, will see the downfall of Najis and Anwar. Read it for yourself. Its has some interesting part about Saifool medical exam!
Which is a more serious crime, i.e, a brutal murder of a foreign citizen that had occurred, or an alleged sodomy case that may or may not have occurred?
Is it believable that a small size man, 61-year-old man with a bad back (not in political power, nor a gangster “taiko”.) can forcibly sodomise a young healthy big size, man aged 23.??
Boilingmad: AAB too ‘malu’ to…..
I think AAB doesn’t understand what is ‘malu’. ‘Malu’ is never in the vocabulary for many UMNO putras. That is my conclusion from what is happening in this country.
I’m so happy these days. Looks like the imminent fall of AAB and goons is at hand. You can fool some of the people some time but you can’t fool most of the people most of the time hehehehe… I hope PR can emancipate all Malaysians (yup, including BN supporters who don’t know better) from 51 years of slavery under BN/UMNO rules very very soon. MERDEKA MALAYSIA. Long live Ketuanan Rakyat.
The latest Merdeka poll was carried out before Anwar’s arrest by a squad load of police and before the leaked medical report came out.
What do you think the polls results for confidence in the PM and those relating to Anwar’s sodomy allegations will be next month?
The PM should be losing sleep over this!
//Only stupid fool will take the survey done by Merdeka Center seriously. How well can the opinion of merely 1,000 people be representative of the opinion of 2.6 million people of the entire nation? // – Kasim Amat
For a start, the independent research firm Merdeka Centre headed by Ibrahim Suffian is nothing to be scoffed at. Unless one can point out what is procedurally wrong in their conducting the survey one should, even in the most pessimistic of situations, treat the results with a somewhat larger margin of error.
In statistics speak, if the poll was done in a truly random manner, we can say with a certain degree of confidence (say 95% or 99%) that the result (the true proportion of Malaysians having a particular opinion) does lie within a specified interval. This interval gets larger i.e the true proportion could vary more if the polling sample is small. However, this survey having polled more than 1000 people the results can be quite convincing.
So now, Kasim Amat, which figure is it that you don’t like?
a) 28% happy with the way things are going on. This means we can be 99% confident that the true figure is likely to be anywhere between 24 to 32%.
b) 42% happy with AAB’s performance. The true % can be between 38 to 46%.
c) 58% dissatisfied with umno. This can be between 53 to 63%.
d) 66% believe allegations against Anwar are politically motivated. (62 to 70%)
Of course, we cannot expect AAB (did he pass his statistics exam?? I wonder) to understand all these. Unless you, Kasim Amat, are in the same league as he is, don’t you think it is rather blase for you to make the remark as quoted above?
Yo Kasim Amat!
You are just as sleepy as your paymaster – ‘Sleepy’ – PM
The approximate population of M’sia is 26 million and not 2.6 million, fool!
What do you understand about random survey? It’s the TREND, understand?
If the survey works with 1,000, it also will work with 10,000, 100,000, 1,000,000 or 10,000,000, got it!
Guess you also graduated from the same place as the Jilat King (Kera).
cheng;
The judge will think it is possible…without even having a look at the physical built of the accuser and the accused. Money and promotion saturate the brain, if one used the 1989 similar case as a yardstick.
Off topic a little bit ya…
The DAP Party election is near… and I feel quite disheartening actually… to know that some of the prominent and good but sidelined leader could be “get rid of”, or choose not to run for the CEC membership…
I hope YB Lim you as a leader of the party (for 40 years), will see the need of CHANGE inside the party… as much as the country need the CHANGE…
I believe a promising party… is a party that could constantly change, renew and become better and better… or else, I can’t imagine how will the party fare in the coming election, when the party becomes a “fossil” because it can’t adapt to the ever changing world…
Let’s just hope the leaders and the people could be wise enough… to see the need of CHANGE…
Kasim, Kasim, commen sense it was poorly conducted? How your commen sense works, i wonder. GE showed 5 state lost, 2/3 majority gone. After GE, Fuel price go hike as well as living cost, corruption revealed, poor conduct by police force on sodomy, Altantunya case, brainless remarks by BN leaders ( fuel debate, Old DNA?DSAI is guilty before the trial?…etc), questionmarks on sodomy & Altantunya case( too many to mention here), DSAI’s sodomy I episode ( black eyes, case overturned), economy status going down, unity going down, Justice is jeopardized, flip flop by PM…and many many more. So, by your commen sense, if you think there is a GE now, what will be the result?
Us Malaysians deserve better.
The quality and the level of intelligence of our MPs including the PM and the DPM from BN are way below par. They are nothing more than self-centred MPs looking after their own interests. Which is the fundametal reason why our country had ended up in this pathetic state.
We need change and it has to happen sooner than later. Depriving Malaysians of our rights to the share of wealth that this bountiful country offers us is immoral. Clearly, only one thing to do now, get rid of all these morons and replace them with competent people who knows what need to be done to pull our country our of its pathetic situation and doldrums.

“Is it believable that a small size man, 61-year-old man with a bad back (not in political power, nor a gangster “taiko”.) can forcibly sodomise a young healthy big size, man aged 23.??”
The gay community is laughing at this. They know that it is almost impossible for a man to forcibly sodomize another man. Since the accuser is bigger and stronger than the accused, they are laughing even louder.
Either our police force are imbecile enough to believe Saifool at face value or there is a conspiracy. I think there is a conspiracy but they are obviously imbecile enough to believe that the public can be so easily conned.
“………………….. How well can the opinion of merely 1,000 people be representative of the opinion of 2.6 million people of the entire nation? You should know the answer and anyone with common sense will know the survey is poorly conducted…….” – Kasim Amat
Well, dear En Kasim Amat, perhaps you should read up on statistical sampling.
And could you also enlighten us as to how you draw the conclusion that the survey is poorly conducted?
this is really ‘malaysia boleh, apa apa pun boleh jadi!!’
jus as another blogger had expressed,”could u imagine 27 million malaysian future would be changed by a 23 year old university drop out??”
anyone attended the forum at nikko hotel today!!learned that bodowi made a total joke out of himself, caught unprepared right infront of 700 students….
No match to this lady of virtue
Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah is a spotless woman of courage, integrity, credibility, humility and has a disposition worthy of being emulated. Every woman, mother, sister, wife who stands virtuous before God and her man will be able to spot the beauty of this lady miles away.
But to our beleaguered PM, she is not worthy before her voters. Oh my God, there he goes again shooting himself in his foot. And likewise his predecessor had nothing but venomous statements about her. Do we still call them ‘gentlemen’?
Ask any right thinking citizen and they will easily re-affirm that there are none in the country within the hallways of the ruling government party (BN) who can or have spouses to match Dr. Wan’s resolute will, commitment and loyalty to country and citizens alike.
This is not the time to feel slighted dear politicians if your wives do not measure up to the public opinion. The same goes to all you women politicians who stand before the rakyat in soiled fabrics of self-glory, corruption and deceit.
Dr. Wan Azizah is one woman who has never uttered any profanity or curses unlike one infamous Minister who is known to freely use the four-letter word even in her own office.
Dr. Wan Azizah is also completely clean and clear of any form of corruption and misplaced abuse of power unlike other BN women leaders who have scandals after scandals layered over them. Never mind the un-ending stories that the staff of these corrupt women leaders trade within family circles.
Take a look at how humbly Dr. Wan dresses and take a peep at the obnoxious jewels decking the others. The non-verbal message cannot lie Madame politicians!
And when you see this lady of hope, you also cannot miss seeing the fine daughter she has raised. Let us not forget that this young girl felled a seasoned veteran. That in itself speaks volumes.
And of course, at the helm is the man of the moment DSAI who the forces are trying to kill and at all costs – latest being that a BN mole is already walking within the corridors of the US government to bribe his way through.
Let us not forget that when the court finally threw out the first sodomy charges, the former PM never even apologized to Dr Wan and us all citizens. In Malay we say ‘kejam’.
With the entire nation of God fearing, loyal and patriotic citizens praying for Dr Wan and her family, we know God will not let us down. Viva Malaysia!

My Dearest Poor poor Kasim,
Better go back to school! I think better start from kindergarten. Your knowledge is up there.
AAB has a benign face akin to a smiling uncle. He looks moderate, sounds moderate and his actions in the early days were moderate. But after 5 years helming this Nation, the man has turned out to be a fake and an imposter. I am afraid that he has exhausted all goodwill which he received at GE 2004.
More and more, Malaysians are waking up to discover that he really is a village idiot, a flip-flop decision maker, incapable of decisive leadership. Worst, he is a greedy man. And lately, he has shown an ugly streak and a devious political agenda (cf. what he said about the PAS-UMNO talks) and comments he made about Anwar’s matter.
Anyone interested to read how the fool performed in front of our brightest young people (Malaysian Student Leaders Summit) at Nikko Hotel? Well go to DJ Merican’s blog at http://dinmerican.wordpress.com/. The topic was: “Holistic Development and the role of the Government.” I quote, “He did not touch on the intended topic during his keynote address but instead delivered a 40-minute off-the-cuff address to the students on a wide range of topics.” A sorry figure!
Sure or not. I thought the polls should show something like 10 -20 %. Only those whose bread and butter depended on him will support big ‘errs. For the rest of us he has put sand in our rice bowl.
“Only stupid fool will take the survey done by Merdeka Center seriously. How well can the opinion of merely 1,000 people be representative of the opinion of 2.6 million people of the entire nation?” — Kasim Amat.
2.6 million? Kasim Amat, you can’t even get the correct figure right for the nation’s population, so obviously you must be a pathetic idiot who is a million times dumber than those that you choose to call stupid fools.
Why can’t you ever do your homework properly? Simple fact also could not verify it first? You cannot even write a single article without backfiring on yourself. Your idiotic posts here are making it even worst for your Umnoputra masters. Thanks to goofy goons like you, you can bet that the next survey will show even an lower rating for your bosses.
I have to repeat my calling on him. He is definitely THE idiotic PM. All he could have done is, just by looking at his winning in the recent GE. He lost his majority so much in his own constituency. That should have been enough for anyone who had the cow sense to realize. Being a PM he could not even prove his worthiness at his own place.
If one thought of him as idiotic, he seems to be more than that. He has also become senile. Until recently I had the wish that he could continue being the PM of Malaysia even beyond 2010. I must admit I was wrong. This man does not fit to be a PM. If at all God wanted UMNO to rule I hope it is not under the present PM or DPM. I would say never mind if it was KuLI. But my preference is PKR.
Dear YB Kit,
Do you know that Saiful has comeout from hiding, at least cyberly or virtually here… Saiful’s Blog
I am not sure if it is really his or someone else just trying to be funny.
Shiok Guy
“Only stupid fool will take the survey done by Merdeka Center seriously. How well can the opinion of merely 1,000 people be representative of the opinion of 2.6 million people of the entire nation?” — Kasim Amat.
Hahaha…it is obvious you never studied Statistics before. The 1000 people is what we call SAMPLING in statistics. How many years will you finish your survey if you interview the 26 million people in Malaysia? If you are not happy with the result then conduct your own interview confining to Pak Lah’s supporters only :D
Kasim Amat,
The sample size may or may not represent the entire population but perhaps what is more important is that the TREND has shown significant characteristics which can be validated as this survey has been conducted a number of times over a sufficient period of time.
Whatever think-tank organisation or group the BN/UMNO uses will need to address the whys of the TREND, which is significant, no matter how one refutes the nominal results of one standalone survey.
If PM and DPM are not afraid of DSAI, why don’t they challenge Anwar to context a by-election in Kapala Batas or Pekan?
If BN wants to force a by-election in Bandar Kuching, DAP should welcome it. BN will bring in billions of development to Bandar Kuching in trying to wrest the seat from DAP. I am confident the people of Bandar Kuching are wise enough to vote wisely.
One sincere question , who’re in the Advisory dept for the PM ?
Pls Give them extra one month pay and then fu’k them of.
The real reason why the mullah wants “justice to be done”– so that bijan would be done for in the subsequent trial

The hijab she used to wear when her husband was DPM was not cheap! A hijab costing several hundred ringgit is expensive.
Kasim Amat, like his big boss, failed entrance statistics.
The problem is that even if they drop the case against Anwar, the free fall will still go on.
The man cannot even handle a group of precocious students. He has no clear answer and his excuses are lame which is the core BN govt problem.
I actually feel sorry for the PM but he seems to think that as an insult. We are just royally screwed!!!!
“Holistic apa?… Where did I say so in my speech? Are you looking at it? Oh, you are (referring) to the title of my speech!” exclaimed Abdullah, leading to laughter, applause and then loud murmurs from the 500-odd participants.” AAB at a conference yesterday.
Does this guy really care about his “freefall” in popularity ? This guy is a disgrace to Bolehland, he knows it, his handlers know it, but they all don’t care because they have the keys to the country’s till.
It is possible umno may secretly field disgrunted PAS and DAP political has-beens as independent candidates to siphon away votes from the PKR in the coming Permatang Pauh election
Uncle Kit,
I have read the newspaper as well as blog postings on Anwar-Saiful-RODUAN
My question is simple – If Inspector RODUAN was implicated to and found guilty in Anwar/97 sotong(mi) case for fabricating DNA evidence on the mattress, WHY would he still be serving with our PDRM. He ought to have been SACKED and LONG TIME ago. Why is he promoted in PRDM (ANGKATAN POLIS RAJA DIMALAYSIA).?
TO Mr Kasim Amat,
Pls go back to do Statistics 101 – learn about normal distribution, poisson distribution and pls understand that a sample of 30 respondent is usually enough to be accurate to about 1.5x standard distribution. Itulah gomen bagi biasiswa buat belajar, bukan untuk pergi dangdut, aiseh Pakcik….
yep, the PM is the most unpopular person in the country and so is the DPM, it would be a shock if they were re-elected to their posts given any circumstances. The younger generation are absolutely displeases with their governing and antics over the last few months. it depicts absolute power greed, selfishness, empty election promises, personal vendettas and abuse of power and negligence in national economic handling. if we continue at this pace, our nation is doomed, lets oust these lazy fellows and get DSAI into power to make a difference.
Nobody believe whatever he say now, as he always do the opposite to what he said.
Going by his usual way of talking, i.e. the meaning is,
“do fear Anwar – ‘will stop him from contesting, due process of law can be ignored’”
ALtPJK,
Didn’t I mention that these guys are brain-dead when confronted by figures and you have just wasted your precious time using figures to explain. It is not going to make any difference to aid their understanding of things.
I just hope that the whole world knows the names of our corrupted and imbecile politicians and what they look like, so that wherever they go, they will be scorned and laughed at. As afar as AAb and Najis are concerned, no need already lah.
Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) president, Datuk Yong Teck Lee, had also revealed that he was in discussions with Anwar at the time he was allegedly committing the act. – Themalaysianinsider

Yes you are right, AhPek.
If they are not brain dead they must be having AIDS – Always In Denial Syndrome. So let them be forever in blissful ignorance.
PM’s greatest fear is DSAI & PR. his legs have been shaking. as usual, i already preempted what he would say…the same thing again . I won my last bet! we know his weaknesses as reflected in the recent election loss, the worst ever.
Hi everybody. Look at Dr. Chua Soi Lek. He is the living example. What’s wrong if this is true? Judge him by his public performance and not his private matters. A very wise and pragmatic man. He should be the next president of MCA; and Anwar, you should be the next PM of Malaysia !!!!
I hear the brain of Rosmahwati’s better half or whatever is left of it is so riddled with AIDS that he really couldn’t remember if he had met with Altantuya.
I really dont get it. What the hell is with this morbid fascination with sodomy? Until recently I didnt even know the Malay word for it. Actually, I am quite fluent. Just that…even within my Malay friends…. for 40 plus years.. the topic NEVER came up. This is what I think.
Let me see….. we have a govt. servant in Penang claiming he made a MISTAKE and gave away 10 hectars of land to an individual. I assume that since he was sincere in his belated admission he must have been forgiven because he was not charged.
Likewise… Saiful …. since he admitted to it… then he is exonerated?
Tell me… cant the ABIM, Umno, religious courts, civil courts go after SAIFUL for being a participant in the act of Sodomy?
He says he did it. Well… was on the receiving end.. that is. I doubt that he was doing the poking around.. .pun intended. After all.. he NEVER said he was raped, now did he????
That means he was a willing participant…. now he’s getting the short end of the stick.. .hehe.
Which reminds me…. Hishamuddin also apologised for brandishing his wavy little thing around. What are the odds that he really remorseful about it one day and decided what he did was racially inflammatory?
Is this going somewhere? Once those in power realise that they are about to be exposed or the powers that be have shifted…… are we going to see widespread apologies? Damn.. just resign if you are incompetent……..
I can just see it now… son.. .I used to work for BN….heheh.. What a legacy.
Stop all tirades against Kassim. The more I read his posts the more I’m convinced he’s being planted by PR to show us how ignorant and blind the supporters of BN are. Don’t let us down Kassim, do go on!
[deleted]
Shameful. I would be terribly ashamed to call myself Malaysian now.
We need a strong opposition. BN has shown itself to be the classroom bully.
We need a strong judiciary.
We need a fair police force.
We need to stop making asses of ourselves internationally.
We need to limit the term of PM to a single term.
It used to be at one time we used to see ourselves as equal or better than South Korea, India, China, Thailand and Singapore. This was what… 25 or 30 years ago. The monument of BNs success is the fact that all these countries have literally eclipsed us. And our government has the temerity to lambast Myanmar and Zimbabwe.
Sigh.. Shameful.
m.hwang,
Tirades are responses to his postings. If you ignore him, he’ll go away and you don’t want that!
GUYS …….
Kasim is trying to make u guys fanatics. Be careful. one fanatic can make a whole bunch others like him unknowingly become fools. Relax… let’s view his typical UMNO denial syndrome positively.
He still and will give good comments but do not deserve much of our time.
We should voice our opinions on issues put up by Uncle Kit, much less by people of such low mental level. Or we might just end up giving more ammo to him. do not make any racist comments or you will end up having charge under ISA or Sedition or whatever they can bring up against U.
Yes, you people don’t p!ss off my biznes partner Kasim Amat. We are trying to get some concessions where I will do all the work, and my partner Kasim can continue to post his low-level comments on this blog. A win-win situation in Bolehland.
I agree completely we make sure Kasim Amat should never be driven away from Uncle Kit’s blog cos for us we will lose our dose of entertainment from time to time and for Godfather he will lose a business partner.
