The first 33 minutes of my speech in Parliament on the Royal Address motion yesterday was on the prosecution of RPK, which is on video in four parts.

  1. Saudara Kit,
Congratulation & thanks for bring up this matter in Parliment.
More important is to “actully see RPK” in person in Sungai Buloh.
Pray he is not assulted, thus not shown to public and family members.
    Please do someting.
Arrange to see RPK – with or without his blessings.
    God bless

  2. hi YB Lim,

i see ur debating on Tuesday.i having lawatan to Parliament on Tuesday
when you debating about the FTZ…with YB from Bintulu…

    i think u r great!!!!
it makes my visit tour more meaningful…

  3. YB Lim, I would like to commend you on your splendid and outstanding performance at parliament. Malaysia is lucky to have you in its parliament!

Could you please upload the full video of the debate? I am sure many Malaysians are curious to find out what happened, as RPK is close to our heart.

  4. I don’t think RPK, while in custody, should go on hunger strike and refuse to see any body including his wife. By so doing, he would not get any advantage – at least it will not change the decision of the authorities.

Why not just pay the RM5,000 bail, come out of jail and garner support from the Mongolian Embassy in Malaysia, bloggers groups, NGOs, international media associations, etc to put pressure on the government.

RPK can even consider emailing non-seditious reports on Altantuya’s case and court hearing developments to US, UK and other Western countries for publication in their Electronic Media and see how the people there react. I am sure the people there are interested as Altantuya’s case has shocked the world!

  5. Hey Uncle Kit, I really salute you. Had me laughing my ass off at video 2, 1:02 – 2:45. An old man like you still so sharp and witty, we young generation must really learn to have half your courage. And thank you for sticking up for RPK; it’s becomingly uneasy to watch the authorities get away with so many things.

  6. Told you. The recent announcement by Pak Helah on whatever reforms was just a cosmetic exercise in response to March 8 political tsunami and his own party leadership survival. There is nothing concrete being done at all.

As long as BN is not thrown out, JUSTICE will not surface in Bolehland.

  7. LKS Thanks for continuously fighting , FOR OUR PRESS FREEDOM!!!

Now the government also want to block our internet freedom. In the future, BN will filter us from going to youtube, cnn, bbc etc like china. Luckily the minister of misinformation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfpYZ4IGenY) lost his seat, if not our country will become even more misinformation, I can’t believe this type of minister can be in cabinet plus some more as minister of information with lack of english or language communications. Too bad kinabatang clown MP is still around.

  8. MP Gombak asked MP Ipoh Timur what is the best way for DPM to clear his name for the sake of his family and the good name of the nation.

DPM Najib Tun Razak, why don’t you make an appearance in Parliament and castigate, correct and clear your name amongst Parliamentarians, to begin with? As PM-to-be or rather, PM-aspirant, you’ve to command the confidence of MPs and not let MPs badmouth you or allow insinuations to linger and dry on the lips of MPs. Otherwise, as MP Gombak has said, you will never be able to stop taxi drivers, coffeshop idlers, professional ‘housewives’, bloggers, political commentators, the passengers on the MRT, LRT and RapidKL buses, executives around the coffeebars, revellers in the pubs, university students and schoolboys, businessman and investors, diplomats and the ‘underworld’ etc. etc. etc. (comprising the whole Malaysia, big chunks of ASIA and the better part of a watching world)…..talk and talk and talk about the sweet Altantuya, Razak and Razak.

Notice Kinabatangan never has anything original to say! He is a specialist iin interrruptions and ejaculations!

  10. Oh Najib, besides university students …university professors too, I suspect.

MP Azmin also included the highest ranking civil servants besides taxi drivers. There is a long common thread criss-crossing the country and joining all conversation pieces.

Oh Najib, if you don’t do something quickly, you may just enter into the GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS for all the wrong reasons, for being the most talked-about DPM in the world and also in the other world where LOrd Denning confers with Altantuya to send her murderers to hell.

Oh Najib, do something. And do it quickly! [deleted]

  11. BTW, can the Prison authorities hand RPK back his PC and give him a broadband card so that he can continue to blog from prison? We miss his updates, revelations and sensations already.

With RPK blogging from prison and Tony Pua/Jeff Ooi blogging from Parliament, we have just about covered the whole country..oh, no, notjust yet. We r waiting for PM and DPM to blog from Putrajaya.

  12. YB Lim did the RIGHT MOVE in denying Kinabatangan the floor. The scenario if YB Lim ‘bagi jalan’:

Kinabatangan stands up and starts making accusations with his unneccesarily loud (when he started speaking, I had to tone down the volume on my computer) voice, Pakatan MPs will stand up and retaliate, and then the floor with descend into chaos. So it is good that Kinabatangan was denied the floor so that the issue could stay on topic.

  13. In Malaysia, which department own & control C4? Who authorize the use of them if it is not high profile? Why after 2 yrs the case have yet close? Is it becos they are rich and report to Na jis (/b) who are still in power. During Tun time, although he might look corrupted but he’s not criminals, is all about business, Donald Trump rule, nothing personal.

Are they going to charge every Malaysian Bloggers who write anything bad abt. Njis, or is Njis is the real person? why is Njis so sissy, scare been expose and relate to the case if he have nothing to scare or guilty abt.

  14. The truth is its digging up the issue of submarine and copter commision, very relevant, that Najib can ill-afford with the coming Dec election. Its why LKS and others raising this issue is relevant and important. Its about promised reform. Najib taking over the leadership will see the rollback of reform…

  15. A great publicity stunt. Publicity ratio increases by refusing to post bail, refusing to see wife and refusing to eat. Now he is hero rathar than villian and danger to public peace and safety.

I hope he rots in prison!

  16. The issue is whether RPK by his statements made in his blog “brought into hatred or contempt or excited disaffection against the administration of justice”.

My argument is that there is already “hatred, contempt and disaffection” before he even wrote about the Altantuya case on his blog! He did not, therefore, do anything “to bring” hatred or contempt or disaffection against the administration of justice. It was already there!

Like what YB Kit said, from the taxi driver to the highest levels of government, there is that feeling that all is not well with the administration of justice in the country. We don’t need to go into details as to why it was so.

So RPK’s written statments on his blog did not have that seditious tendencies as referred to under Sec. 3 (1) of the Act.
It does not meet the definition of “tendency” and so how could it be seditious?

  17. Why are the police so quick, so zealous and efficient in taking action against RPK and Anwar’s celebration of returning to politics last month? Who/what motivates them to “work so hard”? I am sure the police have other more urgent and important things to do than merely taking action against RPK and Anwar.

Kit, push for the full implementation of the 125 recommendations of the Royal Police commission and the establishment of an Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) to stop unseen hands from interfering with the police force.

Malaysia can only regain its international image and respect when there are meaningful and concrete judicial and police reforms.

  18. YB Lim, you are the source of inspirations and 1st class politician that all younger generation of politicians should emulate. We are proud to have you as our model of success towards building a just and fair nation

  19. It’s really annoying and distressing nowdays.

It’s unbecoming of BN and they becoming more desperate these days.

If RPK can be charged on seditious, YB Karpal can be called a ‘traitor’, the good and noble Sun reporters called for interview (more to me of intimidating), then whom and whose gonna stand up for us – normal and abiding citizen if we are concerned, cared or worried about all the injustice, corruptions etc.

Feel like we’re into a ‘Gestapo’ state these days, with one body act like SS, there is the Propaganda body, media being controlled and harrassed…. yes offcourse Germany flourish and prosper during those time but definately not free except for a handful of people.

No to BN, yes to PR! That’s the only way out now…

  20. The free RPK picture/Logo is available at Malaysia Today
I think we all Blogger should carry it on the upper left corner of our blogger.

I start the ball rolling by inserting the picture on my blog (without permission from Malaysia today), please notify me if you have any objection.

I have a posting for those who has done the same, just add your blog address at the comment page, do not need to write anything. Silent is Gold! Thats why RPK is not seeing anyone now.

  21. what about the calling of MCA people to be hanged by the tree in raja’s article of running dog….? isnt that seditious too? i think RP should deserves what he is receiving now. And YB kit is supporting those statements too? comeon….lets have some sense of sanity here.

  22. Something fishy is going on, I dont think RPK really dont want to see his wife, something bad might be going on, time for RPK lawyers and loved ones to demand to see him immediately, else he might be in danger, just like it happended to DSAI before, assaulted by the former IGP, apa nama…???

  23. Time for DAP, PKR, PAS and every Rakyat Malaysia who avocate justice and truth to stand up and call for release of RPK.

If RPK did not pull all the 3 parties together before 8 March 2008 to prevent 3 conner fight and initiated the formation of Barisan Rakyat which renamed Pakatan Rakyat, BN could not have lost 2/3 majority.

Hope every members, non-members and concerned citizens can stand up for RPK and his family as they walk thru the valley of darkness. The truth shall set you free RPK.

The more their harass and punish the innocents, the sooner BN will be destroyed in the coming days.

  24. we are losing ourselves……while all those clowns are play acting in the parlimen, fundamental issues are not solved. All we get is to see the BIG show. Meanwhile inflation is eating up our wealth.

  25. lextcs,
You are wasting your time. Nobody care what you write. We love YB Lim and Pakatan Rakyat. Wake up and go back to your dark side master and tell them it ain’t gonna work.

  26. Hahahaha Ilovedap… good one. But seriously, lextcs might just THE “big foot”! only a big foot would have some hairy A$S comment like “RP going on hunger strikeā€¦.another GHandi? on the good side let him loose some weightā€¦..heā€™s too fat anyway.”[lextcs] What a classic! Another of those “bocor” big foot.

  27. seage,

Actually I kinda pity him. He may get “potong gaji” when he reports back to his master. Let’s not victimise him. He’s only doing his job. You know what I’m saying? :P

  28. issues to be urgently addresss are…double parkings, random parkings, beating trafffic lights, throwing rubbish, etc…..you would not believe the way people park their cars during those peak school periods….no wonder children grows up to become monsters…

  29. we all should be more proactive in those things that would benefit the society in the long term……not fighting for someone else ideology or agenda. In the end it boils down to what benefits us. Address issues like inflation, economic activities etc…other than that its a total waste of time. I dont see you guys coughing out to help the cyclone victims who definately deserves that money….why help a millionaire who put out some stunts just to attract some symphathy and attention?

  30. The Empire Strikes back was becuase UMNO are running out of plot.
The Bloody Seditious act & ISA is colony law,.. then came with OSA & 1984 Media/Printing Act all these in other word is called Hukum Rimba (Law of the Jungle).. All this BN Self Defense laws shall be abolished at all cost.

MCA are not sincerely wanted help Chinese communities. Its a proven truth since Tan Ciew Chen.. like pa ciew chen. Tipu all the ways to the core then now MCA got is Wong Brother.

But now this MCA even better that way, they are even toothless after the 308 tsunami.

We shall all Support and Appreciate these People whom Uphold the PROGRESS of True Democracy and those Risk their lives to Flight for the Future of All Rakyat of Malaysia. (For Bangsa Malaysia).

Many thanks To Tokoh-Tokoh of Pakatan Rakyat & RPK.

    Salam Reformasi.

  31. Well what lexttcs is doing right now is personality attack similar what those desperados did when they know they are at the losing side prior to PRU 12.

First they bask in their own glory of what they have did for the past years.. the so call report card
Then they come out with only BN can ensure the safety, peacefull and wellbeing of Malaysian
And when they know that all these doesn’t work, they go for personality attack like how they attack DSAI, I was so supprised they attack him only.

Off course there are many issues like what you mentioned traffic lights, throwing rubbish ext. but if our fundemental rights are not protected and free, don’t even dare to think of all those small things…

I think you should report to your master of your failing to do or convincing or maybe annoying people here with your nonsense.

  32. Will the renaissance man emerge from SBuloh prison as the panda man or “L’Homme au Masque de Fer” (“The Man in the Iron Mask”)?

Y no sound from MCA, MIC, Gerakan politicians?

  33. You are great Mr. Lim.
You coined a very precise words like: The richest unemployed.
Very apt. Full of irony and sarcasm. If any one who fit this term and still not feel ashamed of himself or herself, he must have the skin thicker that hippotamus!
Glad that you did not forget RPK. Yes, RPK has things in common with LGE.
LGE went to jail for fighting a shameless rapist. Wrongly jailed.
Now RPK is aboutto face the same fate. This time is championing the cause of a murdered Mongolians. I pray GOD forbid RPK being jailed for a crime he did not commit. I pray that GOD send Altantunya’s murderers be burned in hell!!!

  34. Dear ilovedap,
You are right. Leave that bloke alone. He/she is like spoilt or nobody’s child crying for attention. Leave him alone and then automatically he/she would shut up. In a way we pity him/her for being a neglected person. Forgive him for badmouthing others for he knows not what he is doing.

  35. lextcs,
It is opposition MP’s duty to check & question goverment policies in parliment. What they r doing now is not ….”fighting for someone else ideology or agenda”, but to restore our Judiciary system, press freedom and transparency, which have been badly jeopardised by recent issues.

U r absolutely right they should debate and argue more on …..inflation and economic issues, but have u ever think about why these foreign inverstors r running away from Malaysia! Worse still… our local genuine investors also shifting thier invesment to other countries. Perhaps u should check transparency, corruption and press freedom index in Google (if u have time) and pls compared with our neighbour country…singapore. These r the basic factors our goverment should get them right before talking about economy and etc.

I hv been working as expat for many years in asia pacific and u know what… when talk about these issues (politics) with other country expat. What a shame….

Positive correlation between driving habits and children becoming monsters. Thanks for that deep scientific insight. It is definitely non obvious. No wonder Malaysia is capable of sending THE angkasawan into orbit.

  37. Dear all members,
Pls. don’t let these blokes alone, we should look at broaden views and educate them by explaning to them. No doubt some of them r trying to sabo… by putting in negative comments. But mustn’t forget there r many new visitors of this blog. By reading these positive and negative comments, i believe those (new visitors) will understand the truth and should know what to do when next GE.

  38. From NST :

MARINA Lee Abdullah, wife of jailed Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamaruddin, has just informed the New Straits Times that to say that she has met her husband.

In a phone call to this reporter, she said she is now on the way to the PJ Sessions Court to post bail and added that Raja Petra has agreed to the bail.

Raja Petra Kamaruddin, who was charged with sedition, did not want to meet anyone, his family or his lawyer when Marina visited him at the Sungai Buloh prison yesterday morning.

Yet another bizarre act by the great “Drama Swasta” hero. I think he is losing the plot..oops..he has lost it.

People, it doesn’t require any courage to lambast and post lies about your opponents. Just ask the 18 year old Johor boy…All needed is a healthy dose of cowardice.

RPK, if you really has guts, please present the confidential documents to prove your case to the whole world to see. That way you will win a moral war and bring down the BN govt as you had wanted. No one will rust AAP and Najib if you could do that.

But if you can’t then, you should just shut up and gulung tikar. We want people with substance and not some tin kosongs.

The Titanic is sinking, and you are urgently rearranging the deck chairs and telling the Band conductor which song to play…

I am sure you have more important and urgent issues to attend to, like going back to your day job and issuing parking summons…..

  40. I am just amazed.. I was showing and translating what was happening in the dewan Rakyat to my australian friends.
And you know what was the 1st impression that he said.

Why was that MP from *Kinabatangan* acting like a mafia..
i explain to him * about the point of ordered that was occurring and he was amazed that He is really even given respectful for the parliment. walking out when he does not have the chance to talk and using 2 verses of point of order that does not even make sense..

    * my opinion is just that this Mp should really learn to absorb what people are speaking instead of making judgment before even speaking about it.. it is really embarrassing

  41. Lextcs, I think you are losing the plot. You think without RPK and his blog, Malaysia Today, our voices will be heard? Try writing your unpopular and unwelcome viewpoints in your own blog and see if it gets noticed? Aren’t you also hanging on to a greater blog such as this to get your small-minded thoughts across?

All those things that you mentioned “double parkings, random parkings, beating traffic lights, throwing rubbish, etc.” are justifiably, everyday matters and worries for the people in the streets as well, but they are not major. How the government is treating us, the rakyat, our freedom, our share of fair treatment, the equitability of our citizenship are issues which are uppermost and are more important. This is the BIG PICTURE, and RPK personifies this by providing the truth, helping the regular man in the street who have no other alternative in voice to fight for fairness and freedom, through his blog. For you to use examples as mentioned above in comparison to the BIG PICTURE shows your “katak di bawah tempurung” mentality – small-minded, mean and myopic. For you to come in here to this blog and try to demean all that we have stood for, to make scathing remarks and to try to influence some to stand by your pro-BN tendencies is a foolhardy thing to do. For it will not only be I or the several few who will keep rebutting you, but so also will many others if you continue with your rubbish in this blog.

  42. It is clear that the Barisan Nasional still “sleeping” and doesn’t care anything about us even they do not get 2/3 majority, let’s make them 1/3 majority in the next election to make them really wake up (probably too late). If they really care about our country, they should stop their corruption and care about the country as what Tun Mahathir said. Pak lah is gone for good now, can’t see him in parliament or public these days, maybe tidur in his Australia luxury house or go to Switzerland to do his ice-skating already

I am predicting our country will start transforming to communist, all the bloggers need to register themselves with the Ministry of Cyber Department via online like China :D (Bloggers not immune to law – http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2008/5/8/nation/21183139&sec=nation).

Blog meaning in dictionary – on-line shared diary where people can publish diary entries about their personal hobbies or experiences; public online updated chronological entries of links to web sites and subjects with personal remarks by users, weblog <- Probably the BN doesn’t know how to read dictionary or they do not understand the meaning of personal hobbies, personal remarks or experience.

In addition, crimes+illegal foreigner+corruptions+freedom will keep raise and getting “better”, not to say things like no salary raise, price+gas hike and etc.

  43. With reference to the Bintulu yb’s challenge to repeat outside parliament, why not take it up? Can easily be shown from CCM/ROC’s records that he had interest(control) of the company that sold the land to the public listed company for a massive profit which in turn sold the land to the port klang authority. The same company also got the development contract i understand?

  44. lextcs

I think you had said it very well.

There are bigger issues need to be addressed than some confused millionaire than RPK who thinks he is the gift to the mankind.

I agree that many people here talk about change but unwilling to change themselves. They want democratic rights, personal freedom, equality and prosperity as in the First World but behave like the uncultured masses from some Third World nations. You are right to point out the rampant acts of poor civic consciousness and a lack of respect to law and order by Malaysians, including the educated ones.

Even politically, the level of maturity is low. Reading this blog is an eye opener and a proof that we Malaysians do not deserve First World rights and privilages. While most of the people here are all for greater human rights, but their words and actions do not support such view. Contradicting views (like yourself) are treated as a threat and with contempt. Very often dissenting views are shouted down.

It boggles my mind that how could anyone like RPK could ever be hailed as a hero when all he does is writing fictional stories to pass off as truth to attack his opponents.

  45. The behaviour of MPs from both sides are disgraceful. Don’t just talk about MP from Kinabatangan. YB LKS seems to have changed completely and behave like a Rambo, possessed by hubris and self-importance.

We did not vote you in to criticise BN but to keep them in check and for the betterment of the nation. Your childish spat with and attack of Khairy (not that he is innocent) is not something expected from someone of your stature.

Uncle Kit focus on real issues and not on scoring political points or chest beatings.

  46. Dear lextcs

About drive like a mad dog On the Road, what are you doing to help?
Can I suggest that you help to photographer it and email them to me?

and I will post in here..

I usually take picture of those traffic offender and document the act on my blog, go to menu and click On The Road.

So if you want to tackle the double parking, jumping queue etc. Do you part and take picture and email them to me with some explanation. Cool?

    Talking about doing is easy
Carrying it out is another thing
We should do our part for a better society.
Only when we are the victim of abuse then we awake.
it will be too late to cry fool.
What happen if this abuse is affect us, our children or…

  47. Uncle Lim,

You comment to Khairy is not what we would like to see. I know it is fun to poke fun like what you did. I love to do it too.

With respect to my elder like you, can I sincerely request that you and all the PR MP stood tall without going down to the same level?

If I am using the Rakyat, I hereby instruct you and all PR MP not to stood low to the same level as BN’s MP. OK?

What is ā€˜tin kosongā€™ if there is no free speech. What is free speech without ā€˜tin kosongā€™. Could one exist without the other?”

  49. Lim Kit Siang. It was very painful watching that video. Why are you badgering people when making a point. Why can’t you speak calmly and act a bit more presidential. You sounded whiny and your message was lost. I’ve always supported DAP but I was very dissapointed when I saw the video. This is the first time I’ seeing you speak and I didn’t like what I saw. Quit the grandstanding, there are more pressing issues at hand.

  50. All those involved in the arrest of RPK are cowards. Only cowards abuse power. So, what judiciary reform when still practice “guilty until proven innocent”. Is this the law of a democratic country?

  51. Look like our Parliament got 2 clowns from Pasir Salak & Kinabatangan. They seem to be more interested in the blue book than to the issues. Obviously, their main job is to distract. These 2 should be thrown out of Parliament by the Speaker for constant disruption istead of asking questions.

You can write pretty well yourself so you do have all the neccesary attributes to be a hero too.

A bit of advice though – Rome wasn’t built in a day so you might want to consider starting slowing. Sell to an easier audience. Build up some momentum and confidence. Get a coach etc.

You should not start with a tough crowd like this one.

  56. “But the last time I checked, free speech doesnā€™t give you immunity against law or absolves one against their responsibility for their actions.”

I don’t remember saying it does. RPK is accountable for his actions, yes! Like you and I are accountable for ours. Just what we are accountable for is the issue.

  61. Mr Lim Kit Siang,

I truly greatful for what u did for our country. Please read this.
There are a few worries as below:

    1) Friend from East M’sia told me that there are a lot of recruitment into PKR are happening now at East M’sia. We surely hope that there will be a balance among Pakatan Rakyat ‘s parties and no one party becomes much bigger than the rest (like what happen in BN). So we also hope that DAP will recruit more members at East M’sia as well before it’s too late to do so.

    2) Although 308 incident gives us hope, but still a lots of our Malays friends been influenced by primary media especially people from rural areas. Hope DAP can look into this and try to gain more support from the Malay community.

    3) If I remember correctly, we have no civic subject in school and Malaysian overall is lack of civic knowledge. We hope Pakatan Rakyat can look into this before next election, and eventually hope that civic subject will be restored back into secondary education.

    4) Most Malaysian nowadays are lack of history knowledge except only history on the good side of the ruling parties, for example there were parties which had already fight for independent even way before umno and the rest did. We sure think history can be a strong comparison or examples for the people to become more race-less and liberal.

    5) Some of press are truly scary in their statement and obviously biased to the government. By statistic Utusan is the worst. It effects people especially from rural areas, a lots. Replacing press management is impossible, but how to make the people realize the truth and boycott the press may still doable.

Lastly, we hope that people of Malaysia will see clearly and don’t just focus on the physical matter (example how steady or stylist when our assemblyman talk) but focus more on issue brought up and how they defend their right in the parliament (when speaker become biased). The more knowledgeable the people became, the less monkey that talk nonsense in the parliament.

    Thanks.
