Call on Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, region, politics, age or gender to unite to save Malaysia from the New Despotism

Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, region, politics, age or gender must unite to save Malaysia from the New Despotism which showed its ugly face on the 57th Merdeka anniversary.

Who would have imagined that the 57th Merdeka anniversary would see a quintuplet assault on Malaysian nation building, democracy, the rule of law, press freedom and academic freedom as illustrated by the following instances:

1. Escalation of the rhetorics and politics of racist and religious extremism with UMNO Ministers, leaders and cybertroopers enjoying immunity and impunity for making the most racist, incendiary and intolerant utterances;

2. A slew of malicious and selective prosecution of Pakatan Rakyat Members of Parliament and State Assemblymen on sedition and other criminal charges which could lead to the most number of parliamentary and state assembly by-elections in Malaysian history, resulting from disqualification of MPs and SAs convicted of criminal offences.

3. The most number of selective and malicious prosecutions on sedition and other criminal charges aimed stifling dissent in the country.

4. Malaysiakini reporter, Susan Loone, being investigated for sedition for carrying out her journalistic duties.

5. The first academician, Prof Azmi Sharom, charged for sedition for giving his legal opinions on legal and constitutional developments in the country – which is the most serious attack on academic freedom in recent times.

Patriotic Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, region, politics, age or gender must unite to save Malaysia from this New Despotism which the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, has initiated on the occasion of his sixth Merdeka Anniversary.

  1. The plot is very simple.
What they are trying to do is to tie up all the opposition MPs so that they will have to spend more time in court than in carrying out their official duties.
It’s long, long past time for the opposition to wage a campaign to enlighten all Malaysians, especially the rural folks about the evils that they are doing.
If you don’t do that, you’ll be the big time loser.

  2. Watch Najib squirm out of this with lame excuses no one would buy such as if they are innocent, the courts will free them but he will pluck one example of guilt such those insulting Islam.

The fact is Najib is just plain not good enough for the job and the rest of the line-up in UMNO/BN is even worst

  3. PK ought to get the patent rights to the word “sedition” in our nation.
Somehow Sedition seem to have evolved into a word that is the main domain of the opposition parties in Malaysia.Whenever the word appears in the news , unsurprisingly DAP or PKR or PAS etc will invariably be following in the mention..like magnet north and south poles attract. But seldom into articles where UMNO or BN is mentioned.. coz again like magnet but repelled like same poles..will never stick, north and north or south and south poles..
Perhaps,as theorized in the media, now TDM must be mulling over with a double take on his criricism on Najib abolishing ISA,replacing it with the sedition act, because it can be shown that it can be
exclusively focused on politicians..never mind the criminals, there are other laws for them..since the main purpose of the opposition is to point out improprieties of goverment which means saying things, making negative allegations against govermen, therefore, so easy to snare them under sedition act..since their statements can be construed as anti establishment and interfere with public order..etc etc.
As it is,not only criticize, just pointing out inconsistencies can be seditious, like Azmi Sharom..therefore point being, sedition act is just as useful as the ISA,if not more so,with a wider grey area.anything goes in interpretation of what is seditious.

  4. The recent crackdown against Pakatan lawmakers and its supporters is tied to the coming re alienation of constituencies (the mother of all battles).

UMNO need this to hold on to power which requires 2/3 majority to get it passed and PAS will help them to this end. This is also the reason why the moderates in PAS are targeted as they may ignore their leadership instructions by voting against the coming realienation bill

I also foresee UMNO sneaking in the bill and get it passed immediately (in late night time) without debate. Therefore, Pakatan MPs must attend all Parliament sessions and be on alert by staying to the end of each Parliament session (and do not leave KL and always in contact in case of surprises).

  5. Aiyoooh, today, d 3 Court of Appeal judges very daring ooh, “unanimously overturned d coroner’s open verdict”

Justice Mah ruled dat “Teoh’s death was a CUSTODIAL death” n ruled out suicide as d cause of Teoh’s death

Macam ini, si liao lah, ALL 3 NOT much future in UmnoB/BN’s judiciary system lah

  6. Don’t lose focus for those involved in the Selangor MB change. Important is no loose mouths, hold cards tight to the chest, speak as one and only by those authorised. See what’s happening in PAS right now, left turn, right turn, gos-turn, no turn, reverse, forward, worse than riding the rollercoaster.
Learn your lesson, PKR. Your detractors are holding their breaths to see you fall. Hold fast to the principles, talk less.
As for the PPS, patience, patience, let the courts decide.

  7. So many statements made by PR kaki: DAP, PAS, n PKR
    Dunno if all TRUE 1
Well, politicians (religious or not, no difference) just made statements – true or false, just taruh/hentam lah
