PARLIAMENT DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang today accused “vested interests” in Umno of creating the Red Bean Army story as a ploy to seek funding, supposedly for its own cyberwarriors.
More likely, he said, the funds would be destined for private pockets.
“With regard to the Red Bean Army allegations that the DAP employs thousands of cybertroopers, they are all not true.
“DAP has never spent a single sen nor funded any Red Bean Army,” Lim (right) reiterated while debating the royal address in the Dewan Rakyat today.
He claimed there are reports that some in Umno were asking for RM250 million to fight the Red Bean Army.
“Now I know why the rumour was started by those who spread the slander as a vested interest. It is not to fight the Red Bean Army, but to enrich themselves,” Lim said.
At this, Shabudin Yahaya (BN-Tasek Gelugor) raised a point of order, quoting Standing Order 36(6) which prohibits MPs from making presumptions of bad intentions on other members.
However, Shahbudin’s protest was set aside by presiding deputy speaker Ismail Mohamed Said.
“I feel that he has no ill intentions,” said Ismail, dismissing the matter.
Lim was commenting on the recent allegations by BN, mainly spearheaded by pro-government bloggers and NGOs, accusing DAP of funding a thousands-strong Red Bean Army of pro-opposition cybertroopers to spread DAP propaganda in cyberspace.
The allegations have been ridiculed by DAP and Pakatan as based on the wild imaginations of BN supporters.
They are very imaginative scums.
They do all the bad things and then hang them onto the opposition.
We have been seeing that during the last GE!
That’s why these good-for-corruption-and-scam only crooks must be removed from the government.
There must be no let up until they are gone!
UMNO’s inability to compete effectively in cyberspace is probably due more to BN’s education and social policies rather than because of any mythical all-powerful all-conquering all-cashed-up digital bogeyman sponsored by DAP.
But, if there was no Red Bean Army, there would be no justification for a RM250mil allocation of funds and a chance to feed at the trough for the UMNO bloggers.
It is, perhaps, beyond UMNO’s understanding that there are people in Malaysia who would gladly whack them for free.
If the truth be known, I have actually “paid” for the privilege of whacking UMNO/BN :)
What have their so-called cyber troopers got to write about?
How good their political masters are at corruption, scams and scandals?
No, definitely not!
Instead they have to resort to lies, deceits and the same ploys as the scums who employ them!
That’s why when Anwar challenges the PM to a debate, he flatly refused!
What is there for him to say?
While the Opposition Leader has more than a surfeit of materials at his disposal!
That’s why all those worms can only squirm!!!
This whole things goes to show that UMNO rank and file in reality think Najib is partly foolish leader and his luxurious spending in media a key area they can extract selfish interest from. From APCO, FBC, Ng Yen Yen’s facebook spending, Rosmah’s book, to “Presidential style” campaign etc. – they simply think he is full of himself that they can sell the craziest idea and make money from him..

Yes, they are very good in ‘creating opportunity’, unfortunately Not to attract FDI (foreign direct investment), but to ‘suck’ easy money from the government.
1.They created narrow streets, by building high road shoulders, thereby making it difficult for town buses to maneuver. Then, the public will complain of poor services, which give an opportunity to revamp public transportation. Blame the small bus companies, and a monopoly Rapid KL was created.
2. They build ‘high road shoulders’ where motorcylists have no space to move out, when trying to avoid being knocked down by ‘bully’ drivers.
Some town councils allowed water run-off drains to be build right from the white line, which means to say, if any vehicle were to veered off the road, it will be an accident, and if its a motorcyclist, its a sure death.
AES was their solution.
3. DBKL will not build multi-level car park in KL proper for the public ( like Genting Highlands). The excuse was to encourage usage of public transport, hence the MRT.
Some more, many more!
Malaysia Today blog requires funding as well. That’s why the constant attack on Chinese, DAP and RBA.
I feel sad for najib. Being taken advantage of yet not realizing it. sad.
Why stop at RM250 million?
Why not go for RM1 billion?
The Red Bean Army (RBA) is a very powerful force on par with COBRA the arch enemy of G.I JOE. If RBA is not beaten in open combat, the world will end.
