New IGP Khalid Abu Bakar should be censured for wanting to play politics to please his political masters instead of focussing on his first duty – to make Malaysians, tourists and investors safe from crime and the fear of crime

The new Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar should be censured for wanting to play politics to please his political masters instead of focussing on his first duty to the people – to make Malaysians, tourists and investors safe from crime and the fear of crime.

I have just been informed that two police officers had questioned party adviser and founding DAP National Chairman Dr. Chen Man Hin for one hour and 15 minutes under Section 112 of the Criminal Procedure Code in connection with irresponsible and baseless allegations that the term “Malaysian Spring” which had been used by Dr. Chen in a private email last year was in connection with a conspiracy for violent and illegal overthrow of the elected government.

This is sheer nonsense and a pure waste of police resources, manpower and time when there are more important things for the police to do, as keeping Malaysians free from crime.

Two days ago the sister of the Deputy Prime Minister was victim of a house break-in in Petaling Jaya while the sister of the Inspector-General of Police was another victim of house break-in in Mantin.

With such a rife crime situation, it is downright irresponsible for the police to waste time and resources on a wild goose chase because some errant and irresponsible politicians have made false and outrageous allegations but who has no principles or courage of conviction to lodge official reports.

Is the police prepared to charge these persons who have made made baseless and irresponsible allegations causing the police to go on a wild goose’s case, wasting scarce public resources and time?

New Home Minister Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi may be able to boast that the police investigation of Dr. Chen is proof of his seriousness as Home Minister. He cannot be more wrong – as it is proof that Malaysia has got a wrong person to be Home Minister who has no idea of what should be his proper sense of priorities.

  1. I have read the Malaysiakini translation of ex-judge’s speech in UiTM.

I think it is evident this ex-judge has lost his marbles. Surprising that he cannot even communicate basic ideas clearly.

Just beating out his war drums like a psychopath.

    Sorry, judge. You fail!

  2. This want happens this rats are promoted based on quota……semua mahu…. Judge how he become a judge now cari makan . he may get a big reward soon for attacking the oppostion..no marbles.. should weasr a skirt

  3. IGP behaving suspiciously…targeting opposition members, intimidation tactics and false charges to create a climate of fear.

Khalid, you are wrong if you think Malaysians can be cowed – be it Adam Adli or Chen Man Hin.

Why don’t you pick someone your size… try arresting Anwar, Azmin or Sabu-lah? After all you can easily cook up some excuse… like 505-lah.

  4. Well, well, well.
This is Malaysia where crooks are not arrested while true patriots are!
In fact, any policeman will have his job cut out for him.
All he has to do is to start by investigating those in UMNO/BN!!

  5. The reason why any IGP can never be for the people when umno is ruling the country is because they will be instantly replaced should they act in a manner unfavourable to the warlords. So their line of thought is this. If I don’t toe the line, the one who will take my place is going to do exactly what the leadeaship want him to do or he will be booted as well. How then can I do the right thing if they strip away my high ranking post. Aiyah…do also die, don’t do also die. Might as well do their bidding and enjoy the perks while it last.

  6. “…. some errant and irresponsible politicians have made false and outrageous allegations but who has no principles or courage of conviction to lodge official reports….”

That is putting it mildly but nevertheless is the point.

There are some retired-off ex-politicians who now make it their past time to run down ex-colleagues all in the name of transparency, accountability, duty etc etc when we all know that they just have chips on their shoulders and are seeking some sort of revenge or emotional release. Poor fellows. They just don’t know what to do with their remaining time but to now reveal their true selves and accumulate poor karma.

I think the persons who did it must have planned well to know that their efforts would yield good return. Are they no afraid that a team of police force might be out looking for them? They might have concluded that there is no way they will be caught.

  8. The designation given to government employment for which a person qualifies on the basis of merit rather than political patronage or personal favor. Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the government’s purposes are beneficial…the greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well meaning but without understanding.

A civil servant is, I should imagine, the last human being in the world to preserve those traits of the cave-dweller from which he or she was fleeing.

  9. demand an immediate apology to the natives of Sarawak!!!! All Sarawakian politicians should make a demand

Noh: Don’t like the law? Then stay in the jungle

Selangor BN deputy chief Noh Omar said that those who are unhappy with Malaysia’s electoral system should “live in the jungle”.
