If Najib cannot implement his Transformation Agenda with a strong 58-MP majority, there is no hope that he could ever “walk the talk” in transforming Malaysia after the 13GE

Yesterday, I was on a 20-hour 700-km four-state campaign trail, from Gelang Patah to Malacca, Rasa in Ulu Selangor parliamentary/Kuala Kubu Baru state assembly constituencies in Selangor, then to the three Parliamentary constituencies in Perak in Teluk Intan, Lumut and Bruas, ending in Ipoh.

Wherever I went, there were large throngs of Malaysians from all races and religions, representing the Malaysian microcosm of a plural society, united and excited by the common hope and aspiration that the country undertake the greatest political enterprise in the nation’s 56-year history – a peaceful and democratic change of the Federal Government in Putrajaya.

Although Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak want Malaysia to become the world’s best democracy, we still have to establish the preconditions for Malaysia to become a normal democracy before we can really aspire to be the world’s best democracy.

One of these pre-conditions of a normal democracy is the peaceful and democratic alternation of power in general elections, where voters exercise the final and undisputed right to decide whether it is the incumbent or the Opposition which should form the government of the country for the next four or five years until the next national polls!

This is taken for granted in all normal democracies, whether in the West or East, whether in United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the European countries or in Japan, South Korea, even in the Philippines and Indonesia but not yet in Malaysia despite 12 general elections in over five decades of parliamentary democracy.

In fact, for 56 years, Malaysia has had an abnormal democracy, with an unbroken two-thirds parliamentary majority for the ruling coalition breeding an arrogant, authoritarian and opaque government in the past three decades marked by rampant corruption, cronyism, abuses of power, injustices, massive violation of human rights, the plunder of the natural resources and the despoilation of the environment in the country.

For instance, UMNO/Barisan Nasional leaders like the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, the Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, and the de facto Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir had been spreading the fallacy that it is not necessary to change the Federal Government to bring about changes of policy and that the Barisan Nasional government is capable of bringing about these changes.

This is of course bunkum.

Najib has been Prime Minister for full four years but his National Transformation Agenda has been a colossal failure, whether in combatting corruption; reducing crime; raise educational standards from primary, secondary to tertiary level; upgrade the Malaysian economy into a highly competitive one; promote respect for democratic and human rights; uphold the rule of law and generally ensure good governance in the country.

Although Umno/BN had been deprived of two-thirds parliamentary majority, which is a rarity in other parliamentary democracies, he has a very strong parliamentary majority of 58 parliamentary seats which many strong governments in other democracies do not have luxury.

If Najib cannot implement his Transformation Agenda with a strong 58-MP majority, there is no hope that he could ever “walk the talk” in transforming Malaysia after the 13GE.

The BN list of candidates for the 13GE should be the last straw to send UMNO/BN to the Opposition benches in Parliament, for there can be no justification or excuse to justify the selection of one of the most divisive, unprincipled and destructive voices in the country, Zulkifli Noordin as BN parliamentary candidate for Shah Alam.

The appointment of Zulkifli as BN candidate is the best proof that Najib and the BN parties are not serious about the 1Malaysia policy, for Zulkifli stands for the worst and most unprincipled opposition to 1Malaysia politics, even telling lies to incite racial hatred and conflict.

Why have the moderates in UMNO endorsed Zulkifli’s candidature? Have the MIC, MCA, Gerakan, PPP and the other BN component parties forgiven Zulkifli his insult of the Hindu religion and his lies to incite racial hatred and tensions?

Let MIC President, Datuk Seri G. Palanivel, the Gerakan President, Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon, the MCA President, Datuk Seri Dr. Chua Soi Lek, the PPP President, Datuk Seri M. Kayveas and leaders of other BN component parties declare their individual and respective stand on the Zulkifli candidature on the Barisan Nasional ticket.

  1. Najib’s transformation – MIC cannot tahan Zukiflee Nordin and Ibrahim Ali but Waytha and Ganesan can and glorify them. Truly renewing – the new Samy Vellus and MIC..Not just the same, EVEN WORST – cannot tahan lah the rest of us…

  2. The 13th GE will make Malaysian history as voters will make the final transformation to help the nation get a re-birth and this time we can create a nation that is without crutches – it may be a painful process but there cannot be progress without sacrifice.

Please and share this video on why all voters have to take responsibility for their own destiny – we really cannot hope for change with the BN regime.

They had the same authority as the PAP in Singapore but corrupt leaders have jeopardized the nation’s future.
Now the citizens must make a brave choice to re-boot the system.

  3. The only transformation I see under Najib is broad daylight theft in the billions. Previously it was maybe 10 million or 100 million here and there. Now Najib has transformed theft of public funds in the billions. I guess the kampung folks can’t fathom the number of zeros in a billion. They just take their RM 500 and walk away without realising that some people are taking in the billions.

  4. Pakatan has said that 1MDB will be wound up when they take over Putrajaya. I say winding up 1MDB is not enough. The entire board including Bijan and Lokdin must be investigated for signing off on billions of dubious assets while at the same time issuing liabilities at above-market rates to benefit a few cronies. Goldman Sachs must also be sued in the US for collusion to rip off the citizens of Malaysia.

  5. The last minute announcement of candidancy was to HoodWink All, even their Bumno members got so pissed. Now, is only C4 cunning face being in posters all over the Nation as if All (party) belongs/owns by HIM alone. Already has this plan in mind all this while and only to Sandiwara to hide matters. Between C4 and MaMak Kutty they just have to trade off (“blackmail”) each other hidden Wrongdoings and hinges on who hold more clout in Bumno. Or, sama-sama pakat-pakat makan-makan and sleep amongst the devils we know ie. Bumno.
Bumno-C4,MaMak,bn all never never able to change. They’ll take Rakyat to HOLAN always !
SO, the Rakyat need to act by Voting ” A B U ” to change.

  6. Mamakthir said in Kedah that if Najib does not keep his promise, he would make Najib follows his order.

Najib followed Mamakthir’s order in making Ibrahim Ali an independent candidate in name but with UMNO support. This proves that Mamakthir is Najib’s boss. That is why Najib’s 1Malaysia has become 1 finger pointing logo which Muhyiddin openly showed that he did not support.

Najib has spent 5 billion RM government funds buying votes. If he wins he shall have five more years to enjoy himself. If he loses, he and Mamakthir will migrate.

  7. SALUTE d MIC Shah Alam division’s vice chairman n 103 other members who quit the party over Perkosa racist ZN nomination as a BN/UmnoB candidate in d constituency

Yeah! Got balls, backbone, conscience, n maruah

  9. Yes, it’s agreed that GE13 is the most hotly contested GE.
But the reasons between UMNO/BN and the PR for winning this GE are absolutely different!
As different as night and day or black and white.
And the reasons are easy enough to fathom.
For the ruling party, after decades of corruption, scams and scandals, their criminal records are indeed longer than their arms!!!
And losing the GE will mean answering for their crimes of five over decades.
They would sell their mothers to thwart that!
On the other hand, the PR, just like you and me, are fighting hard to prevent the criminals to give us more of the same old, same old!!!!
Although they won four states in the previous GE, their administration of these states are satisfactory.
For two of the states, Selangor and Penang, they even won accolades for good administration from the Auditor General.
Something UMNO/BN never even come near!!!!
Now, why should Malaysians want to given the criminals in the ruling party another chance to inflict more crimes on them?
Unless Malaysians have a death wish!!!
    Or are they masochistic???
The one and only way to go is to kick the criminals out of Putrajaya and put them on trial; a trial that is long overdue!!!!
So, this GE13, we must do the only sane thing left to do!
And that is to kick out the criminals!!!
    No IFs and no BUTs!!!!!!!

  10. ///”… Onn Jaafar was Umno founder but he left as he disagreed with Umno policies. He formed Parti Negara and stood in the election,” said Najib.

“But people are loyal to Umno, have Umno souls. He was a respected man but Umno is greater than any individual. Lajim can’t be greater than Datuk Onn. He has left the party but you are still with it.”///–Malaysiakini

UMNO is not relevant to Sabah since there were only 6000 Malays in Sabah in 1960, or 1 per cent of Sabah’s population. Sabah does not admit Peninsular Malaysians freely, though illegals are free to enter and become instant citizens. UMNO members in Sabah are not Peninsular Malays for whom UMNO was formed. They are different from Sarawak Malays where mixed parentage do not count as Malay in Sarawak.

Onn Jaafar cannot be compared to Lajim, or vice versa because they do not belong to the same stock.

  11. A possible scenario is Pakatan did not win the GE but improved their count of parliamentary seats to somewhere around 90 or 95 seats, won state elections in NS, Melaka, Perak and Terengganu. That’s going to be very interesting, perhaps some frogs will be useful then, I won’t be complaining about it.

  12. Here is the proof that UMNO b is the greatest racist party in Malaysia as its President, Haji Datuk Najib related that its founder, Onn Jaffar, called for UMNO’s membership to be opened to all races in Malaya then but all its members rejected the call! Datuk Onn Jaffar left in disappointment and formed Party Negara. He belittled incumbent MP Lajim Ukin for forsaking UMNO b and now contesting under PKR, a multiracial party!
So Najib’s 1Malaysia Transformation policy is all hot air as he boasted that a Sabah Malay could only win an MP seat through the racial party UMNO b! At this stage of Nation Building, all Malaysians from all the communities should unite regardless of race, religion, class or creed to build a harmonious and prosperous Malaysian for themselves and their children! All loyal and enlightened Malaysians must reject BN and UMNO b for their divide and rule policy!

  13. ‘…Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, the Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, and the de facto Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir had been spreading the fallacy that it is not necessary to change the Federal Government…’ .

The problem is 55 % of the people believe them and will give them the majority that they need.

You should now have to counter this by getting some of this 55% to disbelieve them and believe in you and PAKATAN in the remaining days. Can you do it, that is the question? You had a few years to work on this but now you have only 13 days to do it. If you fail, it will be all your fault. Good luck.

  15. So all those big, big crowds of tens of thousands coming to PKR and PAS ceramahs featuring their top guns like Anwar, Tok Guru, Hadi etc are really ineffective as the bulk of the Malays are still unconvinced and will continue to vote UMNo / BN.

You have all not made a break through at all if you conclude that you are still the underdog with 55% of the votes still against you. Even the proximity of Singapore with its influence over the Johor economy and thinking has not helped you at all. You really are in a fix.

    1. I think the issue for Malay voters is more on logistic.

Regardless of Malay, Chinese, Indian, Kadasan, Iban ect, those live in urban areas with internet access for correct and current political news are mostly for reformasi, ubah or negara kebajikan.

But for bigger states like Perak, Pahang and Johor, the remaining 12 days are crucial in bringing PR’s messages to the rural folks who are without internet access or haven’t access the internet for correct information. People in these areas mainly read BumNo BeEnd controlled newspapers, or watching TV1/2/3. They are not following current political developments like us.

PR has been doing ground work in these areas, much earlier than BumNo BeEnd, but the 15 days campaigning period will determine 50% of the final impact on their voting tendency. Changing signs have been observed, but these people are rather conservative in expressing their thought. 50 years of deep influence by BumNo BeEnd on these rather innocent/simple people is the core challenge for PR now.

It is tough for PR to access all these areas. In contrast with BumNo BeEnd machinery, PR parties are asking for donations. I will help in these areas if I could. Try to help in people!

  16. ‘….Let MIC President, Datuk Seri G. Palanivel, the Gerakan President, Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon, the MCA President, Datuk Seri Dr. Chua Soi Lek, the PPP President, Datuk Seri M. You don’t get it do you?

These BN leaders don’t matter to Najib. He has already disregarded them all and is only playing lip-service to them and to the Indian voters.

What matters to Najib is the tens of thousands of Malays in Shah Alam who see Zulkifli Nordin as the ‘hero’ and will vote for him at the expense of the Opposition candidate Khalid Samad. It is the erosion of the Malays support from Khalid which could see his downfall and Najib is banging on it. Najib only need a few thousand votes plus the phantoms and new voters and Samad is finished.

  17. Najib seemed to have come to racist Zulkifli’s defence. He claimed that Zul made the racist remarks 10 years ago. This is utter rubbish. Zulkifli was referring to Bala’s first statutory declaration regarding some facts that the latter knew about the Atantuya murder case when he made those most deplorable remarks. The SD was made in 2008. If you look at the background, this racist bigot made the derogatory remarks about the Indians on 6/3/2013.

      1. Meaning ZoKeepFree is holding Bijan’s balls, he can squeeze them if he is not happy, so Bijan will make sure he is happy.

But FlOom will not smile long at him, he is planed to be killed in SAlam, FlOom knows that he is a sure looser in SAlam.

  18. A pathological liar needs more lies 2 cover previous lies, a chain reaction dat leads 2 clashing n illogical reasons
Yes, fr now till 505, CAN PR convince more Malays, Indians, Chinese n M’sians 2 vote 4 PR?
55 (five-five, in Cantonese means QUICK-QUICK) UBAH, change gomen, kick UmnoB/BN out, vote 4 PR

  19. M YEOH has her RIGHT 2 say what she likes n she told d world she likes d corrupt, racist, keris-bathed-in-Chinese-bloood tainted AhCheat Kor n UmnoB, d racist party whose members insulted Chinese (ancestors came 2 Malaysia as prostitutes) n Indians (kaki botol n ancestors came 2 Malaysia as beggars)

At least rakyat now know what a dumb n pathetic soul she is, sleeping with her worst enemies who insulted her ancestors, truly shameful

  20. Bijan just couln’t care less that he cannot implement his transformation agenda. His role in BumNo drama continue to be his most important daily pening kepala, apanama?
    _______________________________________________

Maday was very mad. While he was in London attending MT funeral, Bijan changed the parliament candidate list; MuKiss and IbAliPerkosa were dropped, but Kari was placed in Rembau again. This has burnt his nerve, he was shouting dengar dengar dengar to Bijan in his dream.

The MotherSiti was crying, hugging MuKiss after the domination. Because the dream for Mukiss to become DPM is blocked by RoOsMaJib dropping him from a parliament seat. On top of that, MuKiss is very likely to be killed in AyerHitam – a Pas stronghold.

Then, PSalak candidate was worked out kao-kao. CjOhn just stand in the nomination centre sucking thumb, dare not submit his nomination form.

Then, Bijan’s people in Pekan are being worked out kao-kao without his knowledge.

(In fact, before this, a group of Musidin people has been working on hurting Bijan in Pekan for some time. Bijan counter with fielding Gunny in GPatah. By making GPatah a Johor BumNo’s main job, Bijan is attempting to lock Musidin (the BumNo President and PM in waiting) in Johor, and betting on Kit and PR to hurt BumNo Johor kao-kao, waiting to discredit Musidin as the next BumNo President.)

Now, the possibility for Bijan to tumble in Pekan is very real, his men in Pekan is infected with IbAliFrog disease.

Besides Pekan, MadeyMusidin people will make Pahang to contribute more seats to PR, eroding Bijan’s Pahang power base, and preventing Bijan to be the next BumNo President.

Bijan continue to “pusing”, with the jampi-jampi help of FlOom, he is taking another revenge on Madey. His Kedah BumNo boys are having emergency meeting now, making sure MuKiss topple in the BlackRiver come 505.

Will MotherSiti cry this time? Madey of course will work late night for a new attack, PR is working hard making inroad into rural heartlands.

  21. I don’t know if it’s just me at my old age, but our grievances on blatant corruption and abuse of power are just water off a duck’s back.

These clowns just shrug their shoulders and say “who?”, “what?”, “when?”. Mamakthir says we will be a failed Islamic state if Pakatan comes into power. He prefers that we become a failed bankrupt state if BN remains in power.
