Once there was a partnership,
Pledged to fight for people’s benefit.
Jointly, they steered the State-ship,
Gaining admiration to befit.
Theirs were once leaders who cared,
Who watched over the people’s real need.
Those ancient leaders who dared,
To stand up, speak the truth, as their creed.
Alas, they are now history;
This is the partnership’s sad story.
Now, there’s a new partnership,
Consisting of miserable bits.
They behave like many bleating sheep,
Keen only to find places to fit.
The partner-sheep just forage,
Pleading, dancing to their master’s word.
They do not possess courage,
All their public bleating has no worth.
This is the new partner-sheep,
That chorus ‘yes’ when they hear the beep.
We don’t need such pleading sheep,
To unite our nation’s self-made split.
We need honest leadership,
To make our State again brightly lit.
We need racial harmony,
To build a one-people, one-nation,
Sharing the same destiny,
United to a destination.
Let’s make all these come on stream,
To realize the great Malaysian dream.
Let them graze their bitter grain.
Vote out the ‘yes’ sheep to the meadow.
On a diet of dubious gain,
Hopeful they will, in time, be mellow.
Welcome back the true nation,
Free of foul, racist hegemony,
Free of those vile corruption.
Let’s build a nation of harmony.
Let us build on values true.
Make the Malaysian sky bright and blue.
