Lim Kit Siang

All hail Dr M?

APRIL 1 — I am thankful to The Malaysian Insider for giving publicity to whatever Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is saying these days.

Because it allows more Malaysians to appreciate what a fraud he is and understand that a vote for BN is a vote for Dr Mahathir.

These are my reasons for calling Dr Mahathir a fake, a Petaling Street knock-off, a politician who will say anything or do anything to perpetuate the system of excesses which he put in place.

● Fraud 1

Dr Mahathir goes around the country urging Umno members to stay united and not sabotage candidates and help Datuk Seri Najib Razak win big. That is like a serial thief urging his offspring to stay on the straight.

Wasn’t Dr Mahathir the biggest sabotage king in 2008 when he left Umno and undermined Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, allegedly because Abdullah was leading Malaysia to ruin.

I think a more plausible reason for Dr Mahathir’s tantrums was that Abdullah refused to allow him to be the de facto PM as he seems to be these days.

After not getting his way, he left the party and damaged it and played some role in BN’s poor performance in 2008. And yet he is lecturing his party members on loyalty. Says a lot about this man’s hide and much more about the spineless members in Umno.

● Fraud 2

Dr Mahathir is urging Johor voters to send Lim Kit Siang packing, noting that the DAP politician does not know when to retire.

Yes, it would be nice for political renewal to take place at a faster place in political parties in Malaysia but Dr Mahathir is not qualified to talk about retiring.

Officially, he retired in 2003 October but we know that Dr Mahathir is, in reality, still very active. Besides working with Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to force Abdullah down, he is constantly breathing down Najib’s neck.

Why, only recently he said that the PM could have to go if the election results were worse than 2008? And hasn’t he been giving his input on candidates, etc?

The difference with Kit Siang is that he has stayed loyal to his party and the political process. Maybe he has stayed on too long but he has been open about it, unlike some pretender who says he has retired but is still mucking about and wanting the limelight.

● Fraud 3

Dr Mahathir says that non-Malays, especially the Chinese, should support the BN. But not all of us have short memories.

In May 2008 in Johor, Dr Mahathir warned the Malays that the non-Malays were getting too big for their boots and said that they would be marginalised if they kept quiet. He painted a scary scenario for the Malays and framed the non-Malays as the bad guys.

Now with the elections around the corner and needing votes, the chameleon changes his colours once again.

The irony for me is that people used to accuse Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of being a fraud but when I watch his ceramahs on YouTube, I notice that even in a Malay setting he is fair to non-Malays.

So I am pleased that more publicity is given to Dr Mahathir Mohamad, a man who still believes that he is the PM of Malaysia.
