50-Day Countdown to 13GE – Challenge to Najib to produce the historical evidence of the incendiary and seditious figment of the imagination in the May 13 film about a group of Chinese youths urinating on the flagpole bearing the Selangor flag of the then Selangor Menteri Besar’s residence provoking the May 13 riots of 1969

I challenge the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak to produce the historical evidence of the incendiary and seditious figment of the imagination in the May 13 film Tanda Putera about a group of Chinese youths urinating on the flagpole bearing the Selangor flag of the then Selangor Mentri Besar’s residence provoking the May 13 riots of 1969.

The Prime Minister must assume full responsibility for this most racist and unhistorical slur in the May 13 film, as it was Najib, according to the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Ahmad Maslan, who instructed that the May 13 film be exclusively screened to some 3,000 Felda settlers meeting at the Putra World Trade Centre on Monday.

Only the Felda settlers were allowed to watch the film, which was screened after the journalists present in the hall were asked to leave.

The spokepersons of the movie had claimed that the film was based on a lot of research, such as studying documented materials and photographs, to make sure the scenes were backed by historical facts.

Where are the documented materials and photographs of such an urination incident on the flagpole bearing the Selangor flag outside the then Selangor Mentri Besar’s residence provoking the May 13 riots of 1969?

I was at first defamed by the film’s publicists and UMNO cybertroopers as the person urinating on the flagpole bearing the Selangor flag outside the then Selangor MB’s residence, which is a dastardly and contemptible lie as no sane, rational or responsible person would have committed such an irresponsible and unthinkable deed. In actual fact, I was not even in Kuala Lumpur during the period from May 11 to 13, 1969, as early on May 13, 1969, I had taken a flight to Kota Kinabalu to help in the election campaigning of the then Sabah slate of independent candidates.

I first came to Kuala Lumpur after the May 10, 1969 general elections on May 18, 1969, as an Internal Security Act detainee, after I was arrested at the
Subang International Airport.

Malaysiakini reported that the May 13 film screened exclusively to Felda settlers on Monday had the controversial scene of urination on the flagpole bearing the Selangor flag outside the then Selangor MB’s residence, but it was done by a group of Chinese youths.

Where is the historical evidence of such a scene or is it just pure figment of imagination of the film producers?

Since the Tanda Putera official Facebook entry about the Urine-Gate, I had asked around whether anyone had ever heard of any “urination” incident at the flagpole of the Selangor MB’s residence provoking the May 13, 1969 riots, but nobody has ever heard of it before.

Neither the White Paper issued by the National Operations Council on 9th October 1969 entitled “The May 13 Tragedy” nor Tunku Abdul Rahman’s book “May 13 – Before and After” made any reference to any such urination incident at the Selangor MB’s residence.

It is only fair that Malaysians give the Prime Minister 48 hours to produce historical proof of the urination incident as depicted by the May 13 film, before drawing any conclusions.

  1. I know in art as it is in movies that there are always a certain license to venture away from reality.

But in this movie, the above said depiction is pure criminal.

It reeks of deceit, deception and incitement on the parties that produced and sponsored this movie.

It speaks not of individuals with noble aims but petty selfish self interest and desperation.

It speaks of individuals who will try to cling to power at all costs.

The Rakyat will see them for what they are.

    Bangun Rakyat Malaysia!

  2. One way of combatting such churlish, hare-brained propaganda is to get as many enlightened Felda settlers, especially their youths, to spread the facts among them.
Doing so by word of mouth is even better than the government machinery of the scums.
All these extreme and financially wasteful plots just shows their desperation.
As far as we know, they have been lurching from one debacle to another!!!!
But, as of today, they only have fifty days to do their worst.
After that, it’ll be their day of reckoning.
Just throw the book at these scums
    No quarters should be given!

  3. No matter what’s their motive, to use this shameful incident to to stir hatred and insecurity, this is totally irresponsible and unacceptable.

One cannot justify hatred and violence because one is offended. These behaviours are criminal.

The victims could not come forward to the truth……those survived have move on in a more progressive and matured society.

  4. The makers of this film are national security threat and Najib is now a partaker. He should be locked up. Where is MCA? Can the Chinese community make police report on this malicious act and sue Najib for falsely accusing the Chinese youths urinated on Selangor flagpole after failing at Lim Kit Siang who has proven his absence during the period?

  5. Oh, I don’t think they can produce the historical evidence to back up their claim. It is only a dirty trick by UMNO to garner some votes from the Felda settlers, hopefully. They are above the law anyway, and no action would be taken. The residence of the Selangor Menteri Besar was heavily guarded I suppose, pre and post May13. So the claim of the urination incident is just preposterous. It is history re-written.

  6. The only farting evidence they got on urination under the flag pole is a piece excretion from that racist film director. She claimed that piece of excretion is a piece of art, but we all know it is just a fart. With taxpayers’ money, she created Tunda Putra to suffocate the people in Felda. This is in addition to all the farting through Mahathir and Perkasa.

  7. This is why we need a Commission for Truth and Reconciliation into the 1969 incident.

The truth must be uncovered no matter how painful it might be so that when everything is uncovered and told, we can then all heal and move on.

Otherwise, many, many versions will continue to be told and no one knows which is the true one.

Will PR set up this commission when it comes to power?

  8. I believe the MCA owes the Chinese community a reply as to where it stands on this most despicable act of racism yet again used by UMNO to further its agenda. Why is Chua Soi Lek so silent as a church mouse since the MCA proclaimed itself as defender of the Chinese interests insofar as the BN is concerned? Are you such a worthless and condemnable vile individual and a source of monumental bullshit, someone who accused without basis and pretends to be right of his acts and looks like a shaved ape of no morals?

What UMNO is doing does not represent the truth nor the will of the Malaysian people at large. But I think it does give others who may think otherwise an unwarranted excuse to use the despicable means to hurt innocent people. I think it is not only embarrassed but wrong as well!
