Dr Mahathir and his mouth

FEB 12 — Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad seems to think that Malaysians are still intellectually backward and unable to read. In today’s Malaysia where one has access to immediate news from the Internet, the rakyat are not easily fooled.

Still, some of his public statements have been downright shocking, leaving the rakyat revolted in disbelief and protest. Every time he opens his mouth these days he seems either to spew out venom or spew out lies and hatred. He is a man of 88 but he has not lost any of his vengeful leanings.

Even after retirement, Dr Mahathir’s speeches have continued to stink of racism and his thoughts seem bizarre for an experienced former head of government. Is he sensationalising just to grab the headlines from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak or is he rooting for someone else?

Dr Mahathir conned three generations of Malaysians and kept them in check with his various laws to silence them. One would imagine that after having governed the country for 22 years and having enriched many around him, he would be content to rest on his laurels (sic) and spend some quality time with his grandchildren.

But no. One of his latest targets was the venerable Bapa Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman. Readers will perhaps remember Dr Mahathir’s poison letter against Tunku for which Dr Mahathir was kicked out of Umno. Dr Mahathir never forgot that. Lately when Dr Mahathir was implicated in the Project IC scandal he said Tunku had done something even worse. He blamed Tunku for granting citizenship to Indians and Chinese at the advent of independence. Later he implicated his favourite bogeyman, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, saying that it was Anwar who was responsible for the whole of Project IC.

When everyone, including some from the BN, were condemning Ibrahim Ali for advocating the burning of bibles containing the word “Allah”, Dr M came to Ibrahim’s defence, stating that the Perkasa leader did not mean any malice in his call but was only saying that since those books were supposedly banned, it was all right to burn them.

His latest vitriol is against Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan. Reportedly, he said the government needs to amend the constitution if it wants to strip off the citizenship of lawyers, such as Bersih co-chair Ambiga, who go against the government. Therefore the people must vote in the BN with a two-thirds majority. Desperate election stunt?

The rakyat are not swallowing meekly all that Dr Mahathir is spewing out. One only has to read the online media comments of readers to understand how fed up and tired we have become of his inane rants, both in his blog as well as in the media. Even the son of one his staunch supporters — S. Vell Paari, MIC strategist and son of Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu — let out a tirade against Dr Mahathir. But Dr Mahathir seems to go on and on and on like a broken record. — aliran.com

  1. “spend some quality time with his grandchildren”

Nope, Greg! He always think that he damn smart. The smartest man in Malaysia. The old fox and sucker often greed for more status, powers, $$$ and etc…

  2. And what a big mouth!

From all the garbage that floats from it, one could easily mistake it for the filthy Klang River – wide at the mouth and narrow at the source, where the brain is.

  3. ‘…..these days he seems either to spew out venom or spew out lies and hatred. He is a man of 88 but he has not lost any of his vengeful leanings….’

He wants to go to the BBQ pit. He is after all a ‘devil’. What an evil man. Too late for him to repent I think.

  4. Malaysians are clamouring for a two-party
    system.
However, for this country, such a system may
    be more detrimental than beneficial.
The reason is easy enough to fathom.
We know what the UMNO/BN government
    is ALL about!!
One doesn’t live with the Devil for five over
decades without knowing its mentality very
    well.
And their deplorable behaviour in the August
    House of Parliament is legend!
So, having them as the opposition will be more
of a curse than a blessing.
Perhaps, voters should just concentrate all
their votes on PR, just like what the Singaporeans
have done for the PAP for a lengthy period since
    independence.
Until such time that a truly civil opposition emerges.
In the meantime, the electorate will be the
    overseers of the governmental machinery.

  5. Mahathir suggested that Malays are divided because they are fighting for the PMship, he further argued, he said reluctantly because he was afraid of being called a racist, that they cannot be divided because they don’t own most of Klang Valley and other things.

That speech almost encapsulate the real horror that is Mahathir. He ignores completely issues such as corruption, abuse of power, broken judiciary, law-enforcement, education and mixing religion/race politics when talking about Malay disunity. His view that wanting to ‘own most of klang valley and other things’ is racist is horrifying misses the point that if its done incorrectly could destroy the Malays themselves long before ever reaching it.

The man has so many flaws in his thinking and with so much power. In hindsight the damages he caused should have been expected and could have been so much worst and still can and is.

  6. Mr Lee Kuan Yew must be the most respectable statement among global leaders. A person to be respected and learned. Truly love his country and so far contributed positively even after 90 years of age. Hero to many.

In Malaysia, we have similar heroes although not so global but they are mostly in PR. So our choice are clear. GE13 we must do what is right for our beloved Malaysia. My home need a total makeup.

  7. Rakyat must know the reasons why Foreign Investments from the West are damn low…

Partly because of this old fox and sucker keep farting out bunch of sh*ts/craps from his damn stinky mouth. His damn big mouth often enjoy to suck here and there or these and those…

Can someone smashes his damn big mouth? Better still put him in RIP!!!

  8. He is only good with his ‘mouth’.

When one advance policies in favour of a particular group/s for ‘ advancement’ or other similar reasons, one is a racist.

Policies should be fair targeting the needy and disadvantage of all races.

Many extremist Malays love to see his unfair and unreasonable racist and hatred attacks on other races, especially the Chinese.

If he is NOT a racist, he is of no use to his party……to protect his career, he will do and say anything.
