70-Day Countdown to 13GE – Will Najib be the last Umno Prime Minister?

“Najib is not going to be the last Umno prime minister”, so says veteran Umno leader Tan Sri Abdullah Ahmad at the 15th Malaysia Strategic Outlook Conference organized by Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (Asli) today.

The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak clearly does not share Abdullah’s confidence and optimism or he would have called for the 13th general elections already instead of dilly-dallying with hesitation and indecision in the past two years, gaining for himself a reputation of being an even greater Flip-Flop Prime Minister than his predecessor Tun Abdullah.

Nor the Johore Mentri Besar, Datuk Ghani Othman who told Kulai Chinese organizations less than three weeks ago that Pakatan Rakyat could win Putrajaya in the 13GE although he warned that the most the PR could win would be a slim majority of 5% to 10% of the parliamentary seats – i.e. a majority from 12 to 22 parliamentary seats.

Nor the UMNO/BN éminence grise, Tun Mahathir, who seems to be increasingly pessimistic about UMNO’s chances of winning Putrajaya in the 13GE, causing him to call on Malaysian voters to support “the devil you know than the angel you don’t”, and recently, making more and more reckless and desperate statements, like:

• his baseless accusation that the historic peaceful and successful Himpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat at Stadium Merdeka (KL112) by over 100,000 Malaysians from all races, religions and region was an attempt to topple the elected UMNO/BN government by violent means;

• his baseless accusation that the first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman had given citizenship to one million unqualified non-Malays before Merdeka in 1957 in an attempt to justify his “citizenship-for-votes” scam in Project M in Sabah, even suggesting a Royal Commission of Inquiry into Tunku Abdul Rahman’s issue of the one million citizenship to non-Malays before Merdeka.

However, despite the private doubts and diffidence of Umno/BN leadership about retaining Putrajaya in the 13GE, there can be no doubt that the UMNO/BN leaders and propagandists have ratcheted up their campaign which has gone into an overdrive in the mainstream and social media to convey the impression that they have supreme confidence not only to defeat Pakatan Rakyat in the 13GE, but going to win big by regaining two-thirds parliamentary majority.

But, as the Prime Minister knows, whether Najib is going to be the last UMNO prime minister is still very uncertain and undecided – and it is not going to be decided by the Umno leadership but by the 13 million Malaysian voters in the 13GE.

Undoubtedly the pre-eminent issues to be determined in the 13GE is whether Najib is the last Umno Prime Minister bringing UMNO/BN government to an end 55 years after Merdeka – liberating Malaysia from UMNO hegemony and set on the path of a normal democracy where voters can choose the Federal government they want through the ballot box during general elections.

  1. Najib will be the last of the Mohicans, whatever Dollah kok lanas says. What else can you expect from a UMNO pundit save to mouth the bylines of their overlords.

Look, Mahathir is going full swing to forestall UMNO’s demise; desperate measures from a desperate man who has outlived his shelf life.
Mahathir knows only full well the hell that would break loose to his empire once UMNO hits the dust.
Que sera, sera….whatever will be, will be.

Whatever Mahathir says, finally, the rule of law will be supreeme over the land of Malaysia – from the land belwo the winds to the land of endangered hornbills to Perlis and Johor. Justice will return and prosperity will return to the land under Pakatan Rakyat.

Do you think we should give Mahathir another 22 years? You must be nuts to want that!

  2. First, the MMKutty and his UMNO/bn turned this Bolehland into ONE LAUGHING STOCK NATION in the whole world ,
Next, came the CUNNING ONE by no means a small feat as he was able TO FOOL MMKutty and also make the whole world laughed at us when caught sleeping during global meet ,
Now, a Ah-C-4 the still unelected ‘ONE’ AND UMNO/bn also put this nation on the world stage with his ALTANTUYA without motive C4 murder case ,
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH ! comes G13, ABU and
    RISE OF PAKATAN RAKYAT !

  3. You believe ASLI? Didn’t it backtrack after giving high figures on Bumiputa equity in the economy?
BN would run berserk had ASLI predicted a Pakatan win. Mind you Mahathir was present at the ASLI function.
Who dare predict a Pakatan win? Remember the Bank Islam economist?

  4. Mahathir would have done a mahathri on Najib if he had been a little faster to remove Pak Lah.

Now Mahathir is simply too late to sack Najib the way he “sacked” Musa Hitam, Tengku Li, Ghafar and Anwar. Nobody should stand around and look ‘pretty’ before a less-than-pretty old man, you see.

So sack everybody or engineer their ousters. Then old man becomes the de facto, de jure and de-spicable leader of UMNO.

Now it’s too late to remove Najib, so UMNO, Mahathir, Najib and the rest of the UM-oh-NO gang will be buried together in the landslide of GE 13.

Only roblem is all citizens must prevent Bangladeshis, Pakistanis, Indians, Filipinos and Indonesians to vote en masse to alter the Peoples Voice.

Hey, together, all those nationalities total over 1 billion population against Malaysia’s 28 million. How would we ever stand a chance?

Mahathir must be prevented from douing a Project M in GE 13! He can’t say it is legal and he has the blooming power to do so.

  5. Now it is some to-ing and fro-ing between Mahathir and Anwar.

Who did it? Where does the buck stop.

First: Between Anwar and mahathir, Mahathir’s words would certainly be discredited; the old man has lost his marbles, as it were. It’s been a long time.

Second: When has Mahathir’s words been actually credible, after careful reflection of those years in power?

Third: The buck stops at the PM’s desk. Trying to pass the buck certainly makes an old **ass out of him.

Fourth: Megat and Junid are not Anwar’s men. They are Dr. M’s kakis.

Fifth: All these years of silence and denial by the old man. Hello, when have “thieves” ever gone to the law enforcement to surrender themselves; Le Miserables. That is the parallel.

  6. If the Rakyat do not bother to listen to the UMNO juggernauts any more today ( because we are all wearied by their tall tales (P.S./B.S.!), why do we even bother to listen to some old mouthpiece and second-hand PR purveyors, crapping away about UMNO luminescence?

  7. A lot of indians unknowingly gave jib their nambekais. What silly mistake. But hey its never too late to realise the mistake. Besides this mistake can surely be remedied. In fact it has a ready antidote called ABU. Use it ppl.

Actually, I think jib is much worse off. He too made a mistake. A grave one. One which cannot be corrected, I am afraid. You see he gave ah tan his rambutans. And know what? Ah tan is not about to return jib’s rambutans. That too was perhaps a result of another of jib’s mistake. Because, you see ah tan is gone for good. Of course jib denies having anything to do with ah tan’s departure and bodily disintegration.

So now you understand the reason why jib could not find the courage to call for election?

  8. Mahathir is already indicating that Najib is gone after this GE..On the surface, its mind-boggling he is undercutting Najib’s authority at this crucial moment going into final battle..BUT he can only be doing it because he is fairly confident that UMNO/BN won’t lose and that there will be another UMNO PM..

Mahathir is fairly confident only because he himself have manage to tame the dissent against Najib within the party and so fairly confident that sabotage within his party won’t happen..

So really, in the end, its time to shed the cover that is Najib and Mahathir as the target for the opposition..

  9. Since Mahathir is such a tokkok, and Najib is such a coward, why don’t Anwar take on this de facto UMNO spremo in a debate.

Yes, Anwar vs Mahathir televised debate.

    Let the people judge.

It’s time the giants do thier own battles.
