Whether Najib likes it or not, its countdown for 13GE as Parliament has life-span of less than six months before it is automatically dissolved

Malaysians have been waiting for the past two years for the 13th General Election but the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak has been dilly-dallying as he hunts for the best timing for the dissolution of Parliament not so much for UMNO and the Barisan Nasional, but to ensure that he could remain ensconced in Sri Perdana after the polls.

Whether Najib likes it or not, its countdown for the 13GE as the 12th Parliament which was elected in the political tsunami of 8th March 2008 has a life-span of less than six months before it is automatically dissolved followed by the “mother of all general elections” in Malaysia.

There is just four months left if we take into account the polling day on 8th March 2008.

However, as Article 55 (3) provides that “Parliament unless sooner dissolved shall continue for five years from the date of its first meeting and shall then stand dissolved”, the 12th Parliament’s tenure will only end on April 27, 2013 as its first meeting was held on 28th April 2008.

Najib has already created two “history” – firstly, being the longest Prime Minister without an elected mandate of his own, compared to any of his predecessors which would include his father, Tun Razak, as well as the ensuing three Prime Ministers Tun Hussein, Tun Mahathir and Tun Abdullah.

His second “history” is to be Prime Minister of the longest Parliament to be dissolved, now entering into the last six months of its tenure.

The question is whether Najib will achieve a “triple” in making Malaysian history – of being the last UMNO Prime Minister in Malaysia.

It is because of this fear of making this “triple” history that has caused Najib to keep changing his mind as to when is the best timing for him to call for the 13th General Election in the past two years.

This is also the reason why UMNO and Barisan Nasional under him have become so desperate as to resort to the most irresponsible and unprincipled politicking, disseminating contradictory lies and falsehoods when campaigning to different racial groups, causing UMNO and Barisan Nasional to lose all credibility, legitimacy and moral authority to continue to rule in Malaysia after 55 years.

To the Malays, UMNO leaders and propagandists spread lies and falsehoods as warning that DAP will be the real power if Pakatan Rakyat forms the federal government in the 13GE, that the Malays will lose political power and become “beggars in their own land”, the position of Islam as the official religion of the country would be displaced with Malaysia becoming a Christian state, the Rulers would be abolished and Malaysia become a Republic.

Even the MCA leaders do not believe these UMNO lies, falsehoods and deceit about the DAP – as for instance it is not Malays but UMNO leaders losing political power – but the MCA leaders kept their silence as it served their ulterior objective of frightening the Malay voters not to vote for Pakatan Rakyat.

To the Chinese, MCA leaders and propagandists spread lies and falsehoods as warning that PAS will be the real power if Pakatan Rakyat forms the federal government in the 13 GE, that the Chinese and non-Muslims will lose even more of their political, economic, educational, religious and citizenship rights.

Even UMNO leaders do not believe in such MCA lies, falsehoods and deceit but again, they kept their silence as it is all part of their nefarious ulterior objective to scare the Chinese and non-Muslim voters from voting for Pakatan Rakyat.

Undoubtedly, UMNO and Barisan Nasional component parties are indulging in the most irresponsible, unprincipled and anti-national politicking, seeking to further polarize Malaysians along racial and religious lines just to gain short-term electoral advantages for themselves while utterly heedless and reckless of the great harm to Malaysian nation-building.

This is where Pakatan Rakyat differs from Barisan Nasional. DAP, PKR and PAS do not send out different messages to different groups of Malaysians, whether racial, religious or geographical.

Pakatan Rakyat and the component parties of DAP, PKR and PAS have only one and the same message for all Malaysians – to restore justice, freedom, democracy and good governance and to uphold the fundamental features of the Malaysian Constitution. In short, to save Malaysia from the excesses of UMNO/BN.

In continuing their divisive and destructive role to perpetuate their “divide and rule” tactics, UMNO and Barisan Nasional leaders are sowing the politics of hate and conflict with contradictory messages for different ethnic and religious groups in the country.

How can the Barisan Nasional component parties reconcile the lies, falsehoods and deceit spread by UMNO among Malays with the lies, falsehoods and deceit spread by MCA among the Chinese?

This is why UMNO and Barisan Nasional deserve to be defeated and replaced by Pakatan Rakyat as the new federal government in Putrajaya in the 13GE as they have lost all credibility, legitimacy and moral authority to continue as the national government of plural Malaysia when they are prepared to act in such an irresponsible and anti-national fashion.

  1. Najib will create the 3rd history….to be the last Umno B leader.
He may probably create another history to be arrested and tried in court for corruptions and murder.
Meanwhile…he has created a string of reputations….being a flip flogger…compulsive liar …openly buying votes…you name it…he has done it all in politics….the dirtiest unelected PM.
Now he has 4 months left..extremely quiet.
Two roads to travel….one the announcement of 13th GE..or apply fear and terror all over again…clashes …declaring Emergency Rule..to delay further..which is quite impossible.
And so…it must be 13th GE withing these 4 months.
I won’t be surprised…he may resigned and give up politics…vanish into thin air….

  2. BN and its cronies has never short of ideas. Once a while they will spring out certain ideas how to keep the cronies and their supporter happy. AES is the latest. Many are not against efforts to reduce the road accidents and the high fatality rate but it is the way how to do it.

In AES we have an out source company who was given the rights to install the AES equipment for free? How are they going to cope back the investment costs of the AES equipment. The government say they need not to come any sen. The out source company will bear all the costs of installation and it maintenance. These costs will be more than enough to be collected from the traffic offences catch by the AES system. Next when you say the collection of the fins from traffic offences is use to pay off the costs of the AES equipment and its daily maintenance costs, then the system must catch as many offenders as possible. In fact in this concept the more the merrier. So that the fault. So AES will be installed along the stretch of road where the speed limit is a mere 60km/h or even at 30km/h.

The people are not blind, the concept is simple and easy. It is another way of fattening the cronies company and it is always by way of sucking the people out to serve that purpose.

  3. I have to say I think Hadi Awang offer to challenge Najib in the Pekan may be a brilliant idea. – Go straight to the throat of the King so that that the less of the Pack has less cover so that PR can pick off the stragglers and sycophants in the UMNO/BN pack.

  4. As we can see…..Malaysians are tolerant people.
Najib has tried all the stunts and nonsensical stuffs for 4 years…and he knows….the longer he delays…the worst off for him.
No need to guess why he delayed to the last few months.
Lets see Najib be active..with his Santa Clause role.
He thinks the good news will make Malaysians forgive and support him.
Malaysians are crazy for justice…determine to get it of corrupted politicians.
You can say Najib’s greatest failure is trying Sodomy nonsensical to put Anwar in jail again….and naturally ..all Malaysians want to know the whole truths about the Scorpenes submarines and Atlantuya’s death.
One commentator said…if Indonesia wants to invade Malaysia…all they need is to use dozens of small boats and within two hours..we are gone.
The Scorpenes involve billions…and because of huge “commission” to be made…with all sorts of opportunities to cheat and steal more….this is Najib’s contributions to Mahathir’s Umno B party…a party formed to steal and cheat Malaysians…to buy up Malaysians…with money power..all stolen from the People.

  5. The reasons we are the last country to get rid of dictators and corruptions are because Malaysia is a very rich country and Malaysians are not that poor compared to Philippines and Indonesia…for decades.
But know….Malaysians are feeling the signs and difficult living conditions…seeing the two countries are advancing and advancing…while Malaysia can only boast of huge buildings…huge projects…all not important to ordinary folks.
As I have said..all projects must be worth billions…than the PMs will be interested.
Small ones…let the cronies…have hem and be contented.
No one felt the pinches..nor any lost in income.
Take the example of car installments…stretched to 7 years or more..making monthly payments same as it was …for 5 years.
Malaysians…especially the young Malaysians…..love to buy things on installments..the longer……the better.
Now they are feeling the difficulties..the never ending paying and paying…the rich getting richer…..the poor getting poorer.
All are committed…no way out…trapped into the system approved by Umno B.
Banks have become biggest loan sharks..not professional financial institutions at all.

  6. We all know….Umno B buggers know nothing about business..know nothing management…know nothing about country and people….know nothing about the Ministerial posts they are holding.
All these are managed by hired people we never see.
    We know Umno B buggers have big mouths…creating trouble..something from nothing…whole year…talk politics..talk nonsense..to keep Malaysians divided…not satisfied…not united.
    That’s their ideas…their missions..how to govern forever.

  7. Vast majority Malaysians know the “1 Malaysia” slogan by Najib is to get votes.
He is he most insincere PM you can find……a first class hypocrite.
It that slogan is so powerful and sincere…Najib will never delay 13th GE that long.
    Then “People First. Performance Now”
What People first…what performance??..giving out OUR money like Santa Clause??
All we see..are the performances of water cannons..gas bombs…and the 2 ALIs.
Every time …..I see a BN buggers wear the “1Malaysia” shirts…my toes are laughing…especially seeing Chua Soi Lek…wearing it proudly….sort of on behalf of Malaysian Chinese.
Forget the Govt. servants. They have no choice.

  8. Let me begin first by apologising for the wrong information about the PR Ceramah last night. The orignal venue was the TAR stadium in Paroi. The stadium authorities claimed that there was a scheduled football game. When they were told that was not true, they said that it was booked for a concert by M Nasir. So the Ceramah was moved to Dataran Seremban Jaya. I first went to the stadium. It was dark and empty. No M Nasir, no concert. Just draw your own conclusion. So sorry to have misled you all. No mischief intended. I was fooled too.
The Ceramah at Seremban Jaya was very well attended, despite a heavy downpour. I was standing in shoe level water. The mood was obviously for change. I lost some sleep. But is was worth it, Just to be with fellow Malaysians who want change.
Enough of 55 years of BN.

There is heavy rumour in town, that Ah jib-gor may dissolve Parliament tomorrow, paving the way for GE 13. That is what I heard.

We must change the tenant at Putrajaya. First to GE 13, then to Putrajaya. Failure is not an option. It is very near. Let us all work extra hard. Let us save Malaysia from BN.

Change we must. Change we can. Change we will.

  9. The Internet played an important role in creating the political tsunami of 8th March 2008. Hope with the widespread use of smartphones this time, the Internet will play even a greater role in bringing a super-tsunami to Malaysian politics.

  10. They are like someone facing the death penalty in a few months’ time!
In fact, the delay has been beneficial to the PR.
They have been making inroads into the very heart of the “Safe Deposits”!
And this has given the Devils even greater cause for their fears!!!

  11. You Pakatan Rakyat fellows! Are you prepared to lead the country. If you are criticised, will you put your critics in jail under an operation balang (or other fancy name)? Will you reward your own cronies with projects and sinecures. I know DAP and PAS are honest and god-fearing. What about some (not all) PKR fellows. Won’t they join UMNO Baru for a fistful of dollars? You have four months to prepare. The element of surprise is over for the Barisan. Make the best use of this small advantage. God bless all men and women of goodwill in Pakatan and outside Pakatan. Long Live Malaysia!

  12. There is nothing Rosmah can do for Najib…but pray.
Her status as FLOM is what Umno B gave her.
She is nothing but a politician wife..what FLOM???
The First Lady is non other than the Queen of Malaysia.

  13. If PM Najib does not call for GE this month (that he hinted of), then it is possible he could maximize tenure until April 27, 2013. On balance of probabilities, things could be worse for BN by delay: more scandals –CowGate, then Aman Gate Hummer Gate and don’t know what other Gate(s) may be further exposed by then, not to mention, intensification of intra-party factional in-fighting. (Even TDM said, delaying GE could benefit the opposition which has even more time to better prepare for election, esp in the ‘fixed deposit states’. Whatever the speculations from analysts to soothsayers, on the questions of when to call election and why the delay, only Najib knows. It’s about the only thing he can control absolutely! However, it would be reasonable to assume that delay means based on his intelligence reports, he’s not confident enough up to this time that BN will perform sufficiently well for him to retain his helm position. To retain his position is no. 1 consideration. To lose it is not an option. Carrying various baggage, he just cannot afford to lose his position of power if one reads further to his ‘defence of PutraJaya at all costs, broken bones and all’ rhetoric. What happens then if, barring a major blunder by PR, the voter ground moves further against BN by the ultimate date April 27, 2013 – on the premise that he & BN cannot afford to lose power? He has not yet given an explicit public statement that the ballot results will be honoured if BN loses (though arguably that this honouring business is implied). At the same time there’s always a constitutional exception (Article 150) to the GE being held at expiry of Parliament term- ie if a grave emergency exists whereby the security, or the economic life, or public order in the Federation or any part thereof is threatened.

  14. Some people just took the title for themselves without the need to be given it by somebody else or worry there are others who should be rightly referred to as so.

It is recess time. Go out and play.
