Enough with the conspiracy theories

JULY 4 — Some say DAP is an ally of the PAP. Even if it is true, so what?

Yes, I am aware that PAP championed Malaysian Malaysia back in the 1960s, and was blamed for Singapore’s expulsion from the Federation of Malaysia. I also understand the politically correct term now is not Malaysian Malaysia, but instead a totally different, not straightforward meaning, not fully embraced concept of 1 Malaysia.

I am also very well aware that PAP led a Chinese-majority republic as opposed to an Umno-led majority Malay Malaysia.

Now, why is that a problem to us? Why did one newspaper dedicated its last weekly column to painting a racist picture of PAP, also insinuating a repeat of August 1965 in Penang?

Okay, first let us assume that PAP is racist and DAP is also racist by association, but which political party here isn’t? 1 Malaysia Barisan Nasional or the Muslim-Malay majority PAS who is bent on implementing hudud? Or perhaps MCA, MIC?

Who is the one supporting Perkasa and Pekida?

One BN minister even said that they are not ready for non-racial politics even if Malaysians are. Who is the pot calling the kettle black now?

So what if PAP and DAP are racist?

Leaders from PAP have visited Penang and have established cordial economic and social ties with the current state leaders. To be frank, I would want Malaysia to emulate Singapore, Australia, Japan, and Korea when developing the country instead of constantly comparing this country to Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Singapore has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world, with first-class infrastructure and an economy that is very resilient to the global climate. They are home to world-class universities, such as Nanyang Technology University and National University of Singapore that produces top notch graduates, who are sought after even before they graduate.

So why the egoistic stance towards PAP? And secondly, to insinuate that Penang may leave the federation of Malaysia because of the good relationship between PAP and DAP is just plain stupid.

We have witnessed our leaders shake hands with George Bush, Tony Blair and even Bashar Assad of Syria. Just because we maintain good working relationships with their leaders, does it mean we will bomb the innocent and fabricate evidence to support one war? Does maintaining a good working relationship with foreign powers spell a traitorous end on our part?

If no, then why such connection between PAP and DAP? But let me play the devil’s advocate and assume that it’s true. Don’t we have a Federal Constitution that will never allow a repetition of August 9,1965? Even back then, wasn’t it our Parliament that voted 126–0 in favour of a Constitutional amendment expelling Singapore from the federation?

Those with evidence and proof to suggest such a treasonous act should step forward and lodge a report so that these leaders can be put to trial and punished before the court of law.

Otherwise, enough with conspiracy theories and let’s get back to developing the country.

I read recently that the Chinese have succeeded in docking a spacecraft to another in orbit. Sometimes I wonder if the average school-going child out there even knows what a spacecraft or an orbit is, while our leaders bicker about who is more Malay/Chinese/Indian.

  1. Today it’s the DAP-PAP link. Tomorrow it will be the anti-royalty link. Day after tomorrow, it will be the anti-Islam link. The day after that, it will be the pro-Jewish link. Are there people who will believe in all these linkages ? Yes, there are……unfortunately.

  2. PKR, DAP and PAS, please brace yourself to the onslaught of spinning with allegations of sex scandals, Anti Muslims, Anti Agung and Sultans, traitors and overthrowing the present government. Need not say more, slightest excuse falling into these traps will sent the top people to jail as our GE13 is near.

  3. ‘MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek said he dared to admit his past indiscretion and accused his chief rival Lim Guan Eng of being incapable of doing the same.’ Malaysiakini

Wow! More licking? What is the truth ? Does CSL know something we all don’t know ? Did he have hidden cameras ?

  4. ‘Why did one newspaper dedicated its last weekly column to painting a racist picture of PAP, also insinuating a repeat of August 1965 in Penang?’

Many Mak Ciks and Pak Ciks out there will be shocked and incensed into voting for UMNO.

  5. The great singapore connection theory. That is nearly as good as the great book on prinsip2 ekonomi pokok rambutan! But seriously, would singapore want malaysia to fall to the opposition? My bet: NO. If malaysia goes the opposition way, it might trigger a similar reaction in singapore and pap surely dont want that. Remember. Singapore electorates are 100% urban and educated. Singapore does not have illiterates and simple folks for pap to deceive. Well such voters do not exist is significant number unlike in malaysia. It is a great deal easier for singaporeans to boot pap out. So umno wants us to believe that pap has a pact with dap to topple the umno gobermen in ge13? Come on. Tell us another story will ya.

  6. The devilish regime is using lies, false allegations, smear campaigns to tarnish the Pakatan leaders. It is exploiting all the satanic MSM including the lies paper Utusan to deceive and mislead voters who are vulnerable to such lies and smear campaigns.Pakatan should go all out to fight the evil power until it is completely kicked out from Putrajaya in the next GE.

  7. PAP. DAP.

I think LKS should finally let he cat out of the bag and tell us all what he’s been planning to do all this while. I stumbled upon his ‘secret’ recently quite unexpectedly.

Some full moons ago I was at a traffic light at one of the busy roads in Singapore waiting for the green man. A big van then whizzed by right in front of me just as the light was turning green for me to cross. On its side was a big sign ‘DAP’.

I was stunned for a moment and looked at the driver to see if it was one of the Mr Lims, Singhs, Koks, Lees or whoever but I was disappointed. He and his assistant looked like an imported mainland Chinese and a Bangla but never mind. I decided to check up on these ‘DAP’ fellows and see what I came across:

    http://www.dap.com.sg/

Well, I hope these DAP fellows really Deliver As Promised.

  8. The whole objective of political propaganda of which conspiracy theories are part is neither to tell the truth nor to be objective and fair but to put across in the most persuasive manner possible to as many voters as possible that one’s party serves their interests and the opposing side disserves them. To be effective such propaganda has to strike at the emotional chords rather than appeal to the intellect and necessarily it has to adjust itself to the level of comprehension of the least intelligent but most emotional of those whom it seeks to reach to secure the best voting results. It is therefore an exercise in futility to try rationalize against such propaganda as if it were otherwise honestly intended to enlighten the public with the truth.

  9. “The function of propaganda is, for example, not to weigh and ponder the rights of different people, but exclusively to emphasize the one right which it has set out to argue for. Its task is not to make an objective study of the truth, in so far as it favors the enemy, and then set it before the masses with academic fairness; its task is to serve our own right, always and unflinchingly”, so said Adolf Hitler’s propaganda chief, Joseph Goebbels.

So the idea is to skew facts & distort truth, tell lies, the bigger the better and if one tells big lies repeatedly often enough, people will perversely believe them to be truth aided by the fact that they simply want to believe them to be so considering these messages are deliberately structured right at the beginning to provoke at the unconscious subliminal level emotional insecurities and appeal to the selfish interests of the audience targeted to be influenced.

  10. Lets see…DAP, a PAP Agent, Lim Guan Eng must resign having affairs with a woman….S’gore Govt under Khalid ripped off RM1billion.
First one, Lim Kit Siang blasting them
Chua Soi Lek said…”I admitted my sex affairs and resign. Does LGE have the guts to do the same”.
Note: Idiotic Chua has no choice .He was caught with his pants down in video.
An unknown UMNO b politics spoke like a real UMNO b idiots. He said ‘Lim Guan Eng want to sue to shut mouths.
hahahahahaha,,,,,I guess Mahathir and Najib never sue anyone are the best.
Lee Muan Yew must be the worst,,,suing all and won millions in compensations.
Lim Guan Eng is planning to sue if that rumor monger dares to repeat it out in the public.
Khalid is planning to sue too.

  11. Sage, I have a simpler way to explain propaganda, irrational tirade, concoction or whatever. BN/UMNO knows they can’t win based on logic, rationale and reasoning anymore. They know those in the know would not vote for them unless they are dictated by their own vested interests like those in MCA, Gerakan and MIC. So it does not matter they appeal directly to the nincompoops and the extremists. It is a Pareto optimum situation. Gaining more support from nincompoops and extremists but losing nothing of those in the know is the strategy they are adopting now. That is why they have 1 taxi now. Soon, they will have 1 lorry, 1 express bus, 1 kedai runcit and 1 brothel.

  12. Bravo sheriff Singh , you said it so well about Chua Soi Lek.
It’s all talks and not evidence.
Once Elizabeth Wong was walking closely to Khalid, and a closed up photo was shown…hinting affairs again.
Doing nothing..keep stealing..now with imaginary sex against factual good PR performances in Penang and Selangor…pick your choice.

  13. The spewing of nonsensical conspiracy theories by UMNO is a testament and acknowledgement that they cannot fault or catch PR people with scandals that they can take advantage of. It is because of this ‘problem” that they have to resort to such Hollywood style writing with the hope to sway the ignorant ones. On hindsight, such conspiracy theories is a definitive barometer that PR must be doing a great job in managing its State Governments cleanly. Syabas!

  14. The time now is for umno to prepare a soft landing and not a hard crash-down. Of course umno is too stupid to realise this. What umno is doing at the moment (and since 308) will inevitably result in a much harder crash-down. Umno will quite certainly end up with more than a sore bottom. Umno will have split rear-end after GE13.

  15. ‘Some say DAP is an ally of the PAP. Even if it is true, so what?’ – yes I agree; that is history and not necessary a bad thing. PAP has done well to develop their country and they are a less corrupt lot.

  16. Yes, UMNO, MIC, MCA are all racial based parties and they are racist.

DAP and Keadilan are multiracial. These two parties would win much in coming general election.

A good history could be seen in Selangor, Perak and Penang. More states are to fall to Keadilan and DAP.

  17. Talking about China’s spacecraft, let’s revisit and ponder over this irony:

The local independent school qualifications are recognized by universities almost worldwide, including universities in Singapore, the US, Canada, China, Taiwan, etc, but NOT by our local universities. Even though recently our government started to recognize university degrees from China.

The independent schools are well known for their high scholastic standards, especially in Science, Maths, Commerce, and Literature as well. Over the past decades they have contributed much to the progress of our society, continuously producing brain and man power of high quality. One notable product of the independent school is KS Pua, who has made headlines in the news recently for his contribution in inventing and commercializing the USB pen-drive.

KS Pua went to a Malaysian independent school. His school certificate was thus not recognized locally. He opted to a Taiwanese university, graduated there and, the rest is history.

Our local universities are now aiming at being ranked in the league of world’s top universities. That aim can be achieved more effortlessly by recognizing the independent school qualification. But of course, we always have politics to make things ten times harder.

  18. Hmmmm no new thread to comment on. I suppose LKS is too caught up with election preparation.

Anyway, a g (comment #24) wrote a remark on education. So let me say something about it too. Obama, in a direct reference to education in china, said this: “A country that out-educate us today will out-develop us tommorrow.” How very true and very real. Look at S.Korea. Taiwan. Singapore. HK. And many other places. We will continue to languish somewhere beyond the 400’s in world ranking terms if umno continues with the stupid and idiotic and definitely self-destructive ketuanan umnoputra policy.

I mentioned this above “if umno continues”; as if umno could or is able to “discontinue” that stupid policy. Dont get me wrong. Umno is not able to do that. And even if umno is able to do so, umno would not do it. We have only one alternative and it is to get rid of umno in GE13.

Umno to transform the country? Pordah. Pegi mati lah lu!

  19. Not recognizing the public examinations conducted for Chinese Independent Schools is part of the affirmative action aims at making the students from such schools, and thus the community from which they come less competitive to the class of people who are placed in a special position. That is racism and nothing less. Mamakthir said that it was a privilege to retain racial identity and the language which is the medium to hand down the culture. Mamakthir traded his privilege as an Indian to be Malay, and he fools all the Malays. Now he asked why does Kit hate him. Kit hated the song rather than the singer. But for me without the singer, there would not be the song.

  20. To #26 Loh

They are just too jealous of our rich culture and language because they have very little, so little that they have to go round stealing (both language and culture), inviting incessant complaints from their neighbour (Indonesia).

Kit Siang hating the senile old fart? No, I think Kit Siang doesn’t give him a damn. The problem is this “chelob” Malay has a really big head.
