Call on Malaysians to emulate the spirit of 250,000 Bersih 3.0 supporters who acted selflessly out of supreme patriotism for Malaysia and for the sake of next generation

We should now be in the thick of the battle of the 13th General Election and not be launching the Perak DAP 13th General Election machinery if not for the “428” Bersih 3.0 rally which completely scattered Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s earlier plan for June polls.

Events are proving me right when I said in early May that Bersih 3.0 was a greater public relations disaster for Najib than Bersih 2.0, as this has been confirmed from the high-handed, insensitive and reactionary government responses so far, especially the high-level campaign of demonization of Bersih 3.0 and the 250,000 Malaysians regardless of race, religion, class, region, age or gender who gathered peacefully in Kuala Lumpur in support of a common national cause – a clean election for a clean Malaysia.

Every day we are seeing the Barisan Nasional leaders shooting themselves in the foot – the latest being the announcement by the Home Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein to upload a video compilation of what happened on Bersih 3.0 on the Home Ministry website, which made an utter mockery of the assurances by the Barisan Nasional government that it wants an independent inquiry to find out the true facts of what went wrong on Bersih 3.0 on April 28, causing the incidents of brutality and violence, regardless of whether the victims were police personnel, media representatives or peaceful protestors.

My strongest message today is to call on Malaysians to emulate the spirit of the 250,000 Bersih 3.0 supporters who acted selflessly on April 28 out of two most honourable motives – firstly, as an act of supreme patriotism and love for Malaysia and secondly, for the sake of the next generation of Malaysians to ensure that they have a better Malaysia than today.

The 13th General Election is going to see the dirtiest election campaign in the nation’s history.

Let all Malaysians act in unison to achieve three objectives – firstly, to destroy once and for all the spectre of May 13 which had been wielded as a weapon of fear to terrorise voters, making clear that Malaysians have risen above the fear of May 13 because Malaysians, regardless of race or religion, are uniting to bring about changes for the better for the nation and people.

Secondly, to crush the unbroken UMNO political hegemony in the country which had enabled UMNOputras to exploit ordinary Malaysians, Malays and non-Malays, to serve their selfish political and economic interests.

Thirdly, to end the racial politics which had been practised by UMNO and Barisan Nasional in their “divide and rule” control of the people and country.

In the 13 General Election, Malaysians must unite behind Pakatan Rakyat to demonstrate that Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or region, can unite under one political coalition to end corruption, abuses of power and all forms of injustices in the country, and most important of all, to save democracy in Malaysia by giving birth to a two-coalition system in Malaysia – a precondition if Malaysia is to become a normal democratic country.

  1. Onward voters M’sia, marching as 2 GE13, vote against UmnoB/BN, d evil divide-n-rule parties dat stymie dis nation fr rising 2 great heights as a truly united nation

Appeal 2 current BN supporters: WAKE UP, STOP voting 4 UmnoB/BN, vote 4 PR 4 d sake of next generation 别再继续典当孩子的未来,给下一代一个更好的国家吧, UBAH 乌巴 改朝換代 迈入布城 赶掉那隻鳮

  2. BN had been most successful in dividing the ordinary people with politics of fear and divide and rule.

They need another term to clean up the ” mess ” , then the new government can take over as cleaners to clean up and fix decades of bad leadership and gross mismanagement.

  3. UMNO-Perkasa/BN is just a organisation of JERKS..Forget everything else or whatever the issues – They are Jerks – the kind of people you would not want even to stand next to, don’t want to be neigbours, don’t want to even sit in the same table – the kind of people that you just want to beat the crap out of just because of who they are..

Be the better man/women – just vote them out of office and let them rot in their own swill..

  4. ///’Although this might be despised by certain groups, including foreign powers, we will never bow to any pressure.///-Najib

The results of any genera election is a statement by the people. Since the people cannot take over power, the results are only the pressure of the people for the persons concern to do the right thing. Najib will not bow to pressure to push BN out by the election results, if he meant what he said!

  5. Only someone as stupid, with due respect, as Minister Hishammudin. would do something like uploading a doctored version of Bersih 3.0 on the Ministry’s website.

Can anyone find any minister more stupid than this schoolboy-like lashing out? Golly, what folly.

  6. All patriots are traitors to Najib because they want a clean and uncorrupted government.
Because they want a Malaysian Malaysia and not a Malaysia with Malaysians divided to rule based on race identities.
And without race and religion politics UMNO b is finished and Najib is a dead duck.

  7. The Malays just love Najib because he has a baby-face with pink lips unlike the other fellow who looks like Rasputin with his janggut.

Najib smiles more unlike this other fellow who hardly smile but just talk, yell, talk, yell about things that don’t interest these simple folks.

Its all about appearance for many of them who will vote based on who looks better, not who can deliver, who is trustworthy or who has a purer heart. If they like your looks, they will vote for you, period.

  8. The problem on the call to patriotism and love for Malaysia for the sake of the next generation of Malaysians to ensure that they have a better Malaysia than today is not just patriotism and vision of the yellow kind – to unite under one political coalition to end corruption, abuses of power and electoral procedures and all forms of injustices in the country – but beneath or parallel to this, there’s also a large sections of people with visions for the red or green kind!

  9. Najib most recent warning that the govt will quash any public disorder shows how worried he is about an Arab Spring – meaning they expect the GE result to be close and contentious. Hence he is already shirking his responsibility of post-GE

Najib and UMNO-Perkasa/BN has given up responsibility for peace in this country. ITS UP TO MALAYSIAN TO AVOID AN ARAB SPRING. THE ONLY WAY TO GUARANTEE PEACE iS TO GE TO SOUNDLY TROUNCE UMNO-PERKASA/BN so they will have No excuses. Your Future is already RUINED – thanks to Mahathir and his UMNOputras.. ITS time for real patriots to save it.

  10. If EVERY 1 of 250,000 Bersih 3.0 supporters can convince 10 to 50 voters 2 REJECT UmnoB/BN-Perkosa n VOTE 4 PR, dis nation will achieve UBAH

UBAH 乌巴 first, then rakyat can put our current n ex-ministers n cronies on TRAIL 4 corrption 2 recover $$$S which rightfully belongs 2 rakyat

  11. http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysia/article/malaysians-more-racial-after-2008-polls-says-penang-bn-chief/
Dis guy shoots himself in d foot, if not his own balls
M’sians MORE RACIAL, Perkosa established, Gerakan really a Chinese party rather than a multiracial party, BN leaders retreated in2 racial silos, etc
Finally, he acknowledged dat UmnoB/BN r RACISTS in order 2 drum up support based on tribal instinct n continue 2 hang on 2 power (so as 2 self-enrich) based on DIVIDE n RULE
If he is a man of principle, he should RESIGN as a Gerakan member n campaign AGAINST UmnoB/BN-Perkosa

  12. I know that even traditional BN supporters must have fundamental values such as fairness that they hold dear.

This message goes out to them: Would you continue to give a vote to BN knowing that every 10 of your votes means little to them when they already have 3 others secured through foreigner voters, phantoms, repeat voters, manipulation or rigging? If you don’t want BN to be too powerful, with 4/5 majority, you need to do the right thing and rebalance power, and throw your vote behind Pakatan. That’s the only way we’re going to get a semblance of democratic check and balance.
