The Auditor-General failed us

JAN 27 — So, the people at the National Feedlot Corporation (NFCorp) and their great supporter, Perkasa, are now playing semantics.

They are arguing that the Auditor-General never mentioned that NFCorp was a mess, that he instead mentioned the management of the project was weak or some admin-speak to that effect.

In the English language, we say that this is someone trying to shut the barn door after the horse has bolted or, should I say, after the cows have run off. It is too late for your verbal gymnastics.

My advice to Shahrizat Jalil’s family is just to seek forgiveness from the people of Malaysia. Don’t even bother relying on the Auditor-General for a crutch.

In my eyes, the Auditor-General failed us the taxpayers miserably! I say this because this was not some poor management or wrong allocation of resources. This was a scandal of massive proportions.

If not for the whistleblower and the opposition, would we have known about the condos, the umrah packages, and the personal expenses? And I have not even touched on the running of the feedlot project in Gemas or why this particular bunch of individuals were given this project.

Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin says there is no need for a Royal Commission of Inquiry on the NFC. I agree with him on two counts.

One, RCIs are pointless exercises in Malaysia, mere mechanisms to allow the incumbents to buy some time and hope that Malaysians forget about the incident. Remember the Police RCI, the VK Lingam RCI and Teoh Beng Hock RCI.

Secondly, there is no need for a RCI on the NFC scandal because we know who the wrongdoers are. We don’t even need the police or the MACC to tell us anything.

The only question is when Malaysians mete out our form of justice.

  1. You keep depending all government agencies under UMNO b government …to do the right thing…you are simply waiting your precious time.
It is good..so many smart brave Malaysians keep putting out their arguments for all Malaysians to read.
The rewards are…unseen…as the power of the force for change is so strong.
That should inspire Malaysians like….Lucius Goon to write more and make sure…the daily half truths told by the government will not work and fool Malaysians.

Ah Goon, please have a heart. Pity the AG. You want him to keep on insisting that the NFC is in a mess and so be sacked by umno? He has numerous wives and children to support with his pay. You want them to sit on the roadside begging for hand-outs?

  3. “My advice 2 Shahrizat’s family is just 2 seek forgiveness” – hu wah, dis LG, just born huh?
She is oredi on her war path suing ppl, she will sue U too till your undies come off, beware

  4. Perhaps, as the cliche goes, this is just the “tip of the iceberg”?
There could well be many more such instances which are under
    the carpet?
    In other ministries as well?
Is it any wonder that the Feds are so very afraid of the PR that
it literally leaves no stones unturned in its bid to stay in power?
So, folks, why not give the PR a chance in the 13th GE to open up
the carpet to reveal what’s hidden underneath?
