Free Malaysia Today
Where are the Umno screamers and banshees when government-linked businesses are slowly dismembered to enrich a few people?
COMMENT
Umno information chief Ahmad Maslan is grossly and perilously misreading the ground swell.
Today, Malays attach blame to Umno for allowing the pillage and plunder of the country. Malays attach blame to Umno for the lot the Malays are now in.
We would like to ask Ahmad: when Shahrizat (Abdul Jalil) facilitated the giving of the government grant of only RM250 million to Dr Salleh (Ismail), did she and her husband think of all those downtrodden Malays? They didn’t, right?
Even after that, they didn’t think it was necessary to create other cattle breeders.
After almost a month, the issue finally blew up in her face, and she suddenly recovered from the mad cow disease to disavow any connections to the National Feedlot Corpoartion (NFC) scandal.
Similarly, when we paid an excess of RM6 billion for the purchase of the armoured personnel carriers (APCs), was the RM6 billion meant for the ordinary Malays?
Where are the Umno screamers and banshees when MAS was slowly dismembered to enrich a few people? And when we were caught out, what did we do?
We screamed this is a conspiracy by opposition politicians! It’s never us – always others.
If Ahmad listens closer, he will hear people saying: “Ahmad Maslan can shove his remarks up that part of his anatomy where the sun does not shine!”
Corrupt to the core
Umno is now associated with neglecting the Malays. Umno stands for arrogance and Umno stands for the mother of corruption.
It’s rotten to the core, according to former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
In one of the meetings of ex-ministers, Mahathir, the political sifu, said: ” Umno is corrupt from the top to the bottom.”
Mind you, it’s not I who am saying this. It’s Mahathir speaking, and Mahathir – the Malaysian Caesar – is an honourable man.
Umno president Najib Tun Razak, in the pre-assembly briefing, put in succinctly.
He said that you can now spot the Umno type a mile away – linen shirts, dark sunglasses (preferably Ray Ban), tinted cars, sashaying into coffee houses with eyes glancing around affixing on no particular person, but asking for attention.
My favourite reaction is to put up my middle finger – in salute of 1Malaysia, of course.
Because people know: the Umno types, like Ahmad, is an empty can.
‘Malays will lose everything’
Look at Ahmad himself? This height-challenged person is a braggart. In the early days when he became the information chief, he would begin his speeches telling about himself.
About how he, a nobody, was suddenly fingered out by Najib to be a special officer in charge of Felda and in the 2008 general election chosen as a candidate and going on to become a deputy minister.
Well, my answer is: maybe you have sputtered some magical incantations extracted from the seven layers of the heavens and seven layers of the earth to persuade Najib to select you.
Frankly, I haven’t had the time to fully absorb the inanity of Ahmad’s recent speech about Umno’s 3.4 million members.
I am presented with his double whammy – a speech about Malays losing everything (economics, politics, religion and everything, wives and children included) if there is a hung Parliament and if DAP comes to power.
That was a speech given at a forum discussing the Malay Agenda.
Malays can succeed without Umno
In case Ahmad forgets, a Malay loses everything if he hasn’t got education, if he cannot compete, if he is not equipped to compete and, most damaging of all, if Malays are paternally cocooned.
Malays don’t lose if they cut the umbilical cords with Umno. Did Muslims decimate when the Holy Prophet died?
The hard and bitter truths that Ahmad and other Umno leaders need to realise is that Malay interests can be articulated and fought on any political platform.
The Malays in PAS can do it. Those in PKR can do it.
And I suspect the Malays in DAP can do even better since Chinese interests are fiercely articulated there such that, if a Malay were in DAP, he will not be restrained if he were to champion real Malay interests and fears.
The writer is a former Umno state assemblyman and a FMT columnist.
Najib don’t have much time before it will go through all the villages that they are aping Hitler, the Communist and Gadhaffis. You can see from even those who repeat the UMNO propaganda there is doubt about the pyramid scheme that Najib & Co is pushing. It simply is unsustainable for very long.
The election have to be 1Q2012. Even Najib don’t get it, he will and so will everyone when the lies start to fall apart.
Notice how the PM and DPM are strenously denying UMNO is racist the last couple of days in their speeches and interviews?
I wonder why? Are they trying to deflect the attention away from the NFC scandal? Or have they received ground feedback that this is a major issue for GE13? If they did received such feedback, they are barking up the wrong tree and should tell their strategist to go back to the drawing board.
The people who worries about racial discriminations by UMNO has already made up their minds. Mere denial and rhetoric won’t change their minds. Actions will. Until we see DPM retracts his “I am Malay first and Malaysian second” declaration, publicly denouncing Perkasa’s racist rantings and taking actions against their seditious outbursts, publicly chastising UMNO’s Malaysian version of “Baghdad Ali” (aka Ahmad Maslan) for his racist and anti Christian remarks in his cleap attempt to “bodek” – your mere denials just unmask your insincere intentions.

Can someone please answer the following questions?
1. How much of that RM250 million soft loan has been repaid?
2. How many years left before all of the loan is repaid?
3. Who is(are) the guarantor(s) of that mammoth loan?
4. What are the securities (land, property, ect) used to secure that loan?
5. A loan becomes defaulted when the borrower stops paying the installments for a few months. Has the above auntie defaulted on that loan?
///47. Contrary to the shallow interpretations of certain quarters, the NEP posed no harm to the non-Malays. As proof, after two decades of its implementation, in 1990, the non-Malays continued to hold the largest equity in the country’s wealth, while their average household income was still the highest among the races in Malaysia.///–Najib in his UMNO GA speech
Najib considers all interpretations different to his as shallows. But the statement that NEP poses no harm to the non-Malays is not only a statement in denial it is arrogant telling non-Malays that the racial discrimination policy will remain, forever. Non-Malays who hoped that the 20-year discrimination would end, based on the promise made by Tun Razak, Najib’s late father cursed their luck that Razak had a short life, believing that Razak might honour his promise. Hearing the words from Razak’s son, they would now think that Razak’s longevity would not matter, and any non-Malay who hopes that UMNO would change its institutionalized racism are now warned. A vote for BN is a vote for the continuation of racial discrimination and the prime Minister has decreed that it poses no harm to those who smart the pain.
If NEP is not harmless to non-Malays, why should there not be a change of role between Malays and non-Malays? Let the non-Malays enjoy the 7% discount to be paid by Malays who form the majority of the population. NEP had gone for 40 years now and it is time now that there should be a role reversal among the beneficiaries and the discriminated. Having used that as an argument, and as Malaysian, I would not want unfair practices based on race.
It would be practising racism to divide the people into beneficiaries and providers, and yet Najib declare that UMNO is not racist. How could his statement that the persons who are the victims of institutionalized discrimination suffer no harm square with his call at the United Nations for moderation. Is there racist who is moderate? Maybe Najib is the best moderate of his kind who is also racist.
May be it is too difficult for Najib to understand why non-Malays are smarting the pain, or does he pretend? Maybe najib needs an example to understand. Let’s say that one takes a taxi ride, does Najib think that it is proper for the passenger to pay for taxi fare? Najib’s answer would be it depends on who the taxi driver and the passenger are. If Chinese drives, and Malays are the passengers, Najib would argue that the taxi driver also reaches the destination, and he enjoys the ride too. So it is fair that there should be no payment.
Najib mentioned that after two decades of its implementation in 1990, the non-Malays continued to hold the largest equity in the country’s wealth was proof that non-Malays suffer no harm. May be Najib thought that there was only one rich none Malay in the country and he was not affected by NEP because he was rich. If Najib was an ignorant school boy, he could be excused for being brainwashed into believing his own statement. Najib should know though there are non-Malays in the country who hold huge equity share capitals in the corporate sectors, there are other non-Malays who are in the middle class and below, and there are others around or below poverty line too. These non-Malays are barred from getting fair treatment in education opportunities or scholarships which Najib knew very well was the ladder for social mobility and for climbing out of poverty. But UMNO considers that since there were non-Malays tycoons, other non-Malays should be made to pay as if they had a share into the wealth of the tycoons. If Najib‘s skull is too thick to understand that wealth is an individual matter, and that the wealth of Daim Zainuddin would have very little to do with other Malays, he should ask to share his brother’s wealth. (Oops, I am sorry; Najib might be richer than his brothers add together!) So what good is Daims wealth to other Malays when UMNO concentrate in making billionaires out of Malays, and doctoring statistics on equity ownership to show that the target of the 30% had not been achieved?
If Najib is a true racist, and if he feels that fighting for his race includes ensuring that the wealth in the country should concentrate in the hands of Malays, he should just announce that all rich tycoons should be converted to call themselves Malays. Since Najib is happy to accept any Muslims as UMNO member, why not make rich non-Malay tycoons Malays and there is no need to waste resources doing statistics adding the wealth of the people by race. Najib would not do it, not because he is not a racist, it is because NEP would then has no excuse to remain.
This is what is commonly known as the “Bukan Gua Bikin” syndrome. Invented by Sleepy Head and perfected by Najib/Moo.
The rot has gotten too deep. The gangrene has involved the bones. The life of the host is threatened. It is time to cut off the rotten part so that the host can survive.
We need to change the tenant at Putrajaya. GE 13, coming soon, is our best chance. We cannot afford to fail. Please work very very hard.
Hishamuddin’s brother got the rights to affix holograms to medicine, cigarettes and liquor. That had nothing to do with Hisham.
Sleepy Head’s brother got the catering contract for MAS. That had nothing to do with Sleepy Head.
An MCA minister’s son got the contract to supply MAS uniforms. That had nothing to do with the MCA minister either.
Moo’s son-in-law reportedly has the contract to identify aliens. Apparently at an outer space price to the gomen. This has nothing to do with Moo.
The mad cow’s husband got a subsidised 250 million loan to produce cattle, and the funds were diverted for personal use and for personal glory. All the mad cows protested that this had nothing to do with the lead mad cow.
“Bukan Gua Bikin”.
Looking at the whole scenario, one can not help but question the 3.4 million members [ of course UMNO’s figure; which I begin to doubt after all these happenings!] as to their ability to even think rationally. After all the failed projects dome at super high costs to the nation; are they still believe in all the half-truths spewed by their bankrupt leaders??? Either all of them are enjoying at the expense of the rest of the Bumis [ 3.4 million out of 16.8 million; as the others with the exception of the misery MCA, MIC and GERAKan Members are not actually involved]. This means one UMNO members is taking the SHARE of 5 other Bumis’ right! This ration is better that the case that 2 taxpayers are supporting 1 civil servant! If the more BUMIs do not wake up to this fact, well we can only pray for them!!
The more we highlight the list of abuses, theft of funds, etc, the more popular UMNO becomes. It means that all these delegates are still in with a chance to do with the likes of Shahrizat has done – give the family some project of national importance, and then distance yourself from it when the sh!t hits the fan.
Malay will lose up if PAKATA take Putrajaya?
No, Malays have been lost all along under BN and more specifically under UMNO.
Who lose out with NFC failure? Most of the peternak lembu are Malays. So they lost out most not the other.
Umno ministers have become legitimate pirates.
The best democratic pirates in the world.
From as long ago as I can remember until today umno is still talking about those same issues and playing the very same blame game. Umno is now looking positively ancient and very very out of date. I bet for umno, the fossilisation process of the party has began quite sometime ago; and the process is now advancing very aggressively. The good thing is umno doesnt seem to know anything. Umno is finished even if the rest of us did nothing to bring it down in GE13. Of course the people’s intervention would certainly quicken the process and shorten the nation’s sufferings.
Umno is never wrong? Yea yea. Umno is never wrong. Indeed.
“Ahmad Maslan can shove his remarks up that part of his anatomy where the sun does not shine!”
Saifool Bookhalee rushes in and asks, “Where? Where? I want! I want!”
Mohd Sabri, can I add my middle finger to yours and thrust it at UMNO.
You are dead right – malays are finished if they have no education. Just walk the streets of KL & look at all those nasi lemak stalls. Now I ask: how many of them were denied a good education by UMNO. There but for UMNO might stride a Bill gates or a Steve Jobs or a Warren Buffett.
Now if you want my middle finger, it’s all there for UMNO.
///49. Another success story was the increase in the number of Malay/Bumiputera professionals. If we look into the matter, during the early part of its implementation in the 1970s, there were only about five per cent Malay and Bumiputera professionals. This had now increased to 45 per cent as a result of the NEP and its other contemporary policies.///–Najib
Malaya achieved Independence on 1957. Children entering school in 1957 would have just completed high school by 1969 when statistics showed that Malays formed 5 per cent of the professionals. So 95% are non-Malays who could very well be mainly foreigners. As Najib mentioned in his speech:” 37. After winning the fight for peace, we declared war on poverty and backwardness. As mentioned just now, this was something which should be done because in the early independence era, over 89 per cent of Malayan people were living in rural and interior areas, with high illiteracy rate, low access to education, coupled with lack of infrastructure facilities.”, non-Malay Malayans too had low access to education, and the professionals who were in the country then be mainly migrants, just like Mamakthir’s father who was a headmaster in a school in Alor Star. The fact was Mamakthir’s father was trained overseas before coming to Penang. Similarly we can expect professionals in other fields were mainly migrants since the education opportunities in pre-independence days were limited. It is to be expected too that the absolute number of professionals in 1970 might be a tenth of what it is today.
Is it Najib’s intention to say that the increase to 45 % among Malays professional is purely a result of NEP whereby the government arranged for a low passing grade for degree award? Obviously, the professionals who are qualified do not need tempering both in terms of admission to tertiary education, or substandard passing grades. Until 1987 Malaysia’s judiciary system was among the best in Common Wealth countries. There were many talented Malay judges, and they did not have NEP to facilitate their entry to the profession. To quote statistics on the number of professionals in proving the contribution to Malays attainment in the professional fields is to insult Malay professionals. The perverted system of Kulitocracy in Malaysia’s university admission and scholarship awards only allow those who do not have the aptitude for tertiary educations to hijack education facilities from the qualified and needy Malaysians born of the wrong race. The end results were the emergence of unemployable graduates who had to hide their university degree so as to apply for non-graduate jobs. UMNO gave sugar-coated poisons to Malays making them believe that the policy was for the good of the race when in fact it is their votes in the election that UMNO is after.
///57. Apart from that, over 40 per cent are subscribers of satellite pay-TV channels, exposing them to such news channels as CNN, BBC and Al-Jazeera, allowing them to follow developments in the world ‘live’.///–Najib’s speech in UMNO GA
If the government intends to allow citizens to follow developments in the world live, why does the government not approve installation of satellite dish so that they do not have to be restricted to ASTRO? Why should ASTRO have the monopoly to sell world ‘live’ when the citizens are restricted for choosing a more economic means to access TV channels?
///80. We are not like our opponents. I give you the first example, Parti A, the post of de facto leader is not chosen along democratic lines, he is more powerful than the party’s president. My second example, Party B, a party which uses the name “democratic” but is not democratic at all. What is democratic about this party if its divisional delegates choose 20 central committee members and then the 20 members of the central committee in turn choose the party leaders? This clearly goes to show that it does not reflect the wants of the majority of the party’s members.///–Najib’s speech in UMNO GA
It is quite interesting to hear a comment like one in Pasar coming out of the mouth of none other than the Prime Minister of a country. In Asia where Asian value is practiced, women give respect to their husband, in public, and they do not want to outshine the husband even though she is holding the more important official position. There is other of course who claims a position where she is not.
As for the selection of party leader on two stages of election, it is a rule where everybody follows. There is nothing undemocratic in the election process. UMNO changes its party election procedures based on whether the President was confident about his win, and all kinds of hurdles were erected just so that the President gets elected every term. The original UMNO constitution provides that anybody can offer to stand for any elective office so long as he gets nomination from two members. Now Tengku Razaleigh, who is clearly superior to Najib, cannot get a chance to receive judgement from UMNO GA.
UMNO has a system of party hierarchy which ensures that people have a life long career in politics. Of course the sons and daughter of the powers-that-be can enjoy party connections. Najib would not be where he is if not for his father. Now sons of former UMNO warlords are eyeing his position.
The first big scandal was BMF. Then MAS and then PKFZ.
Billions have been down to the corrupt.
Why the fought so fierce to be candidates. Do you really believe that they want to serve the people? Never, they want because this is the ticket for them to make moneys.
///95. But this is not the case. These people, despite not being in power as yet, are already behaving like “kaduk naik junjung” (a person of lowly stature when given a high position feels as if he is a noble person and acts arrogantly). They also make empty promises easily (lidah tidak bertulang), saying that if they came into power, they would get rid of
half of the number of civil servants (in the country). What do they mean by that, do they want to get rid of 200,000 teachers? Who will teach our children?
Not all can afford to send their children to private schools.///–Najib’s speech in UMNO GA
Civil servants in Malaysia have the largest share of workforce (at 4% plus) which is twice or thrice that of other countries, such as in Thailand. The teachers might not be in excess, but the clerical work dumped to the teachers are clearly too much. That is because more civil servants create more paper work to keep themselves occupied. If the civil servants in the non-teaching occupations could be streamlined, the number of teachers might be reduced when they only concentrate on teaching. Indeed civil services expand to hire the unemployable graduates. They and other civil servants should be put to active use for the production of goods and services, not to consume government funds.
///96. And if that is not enough, they also want to terminate the services of half our doctors and nurses, whereas not all Malaysians can afford to get treatment in private hospitals. They also want to terminate the services of half of police force and army? And if that were to be the case, who should we turn to for our security and that of our family?///–Najib’s speech
There might be a need to reorganize health services in government hospitals which might result in savings of manpower who can then take up private employment. It does not mean that the people who needed government health services cannot access them. It just means that professional services are better utilized.
In the police force, at least half of the traffic police control should be reassigned, and excess police force should be terminated. It is not uncommon to see groups of policemen waving motorists to pull over at places which hardly had accident, and their presence to bother motorists serves only to keep themselves occupied, and more….
A cut on the number of arm forces staff would also reduce the need to purchase military toys to keep them occupied. That saves a lot of money on ‘negotiated professional services’ such as the purchase of the once un-submergible Scorpion submarine.
Malaysians have to protect their family; they never rely on the police force, unlike perhaps UMNO ministers. There is no security problem for the country as long as we do not raise our fist first.
///97. This is the fate that will befall us if UMNO loses its power. Who will defend Islam? Who will defend the rights and agenda of the Malays? And who can be counted upon to continue honouring our Rulers? We should try to find answers
to these questions.///–Najib
If UMNO loses power, then we should be able to recover billions of ringgit which corrupted ministers and their cronies had stolen from government coffers. We should be able to re-examine all the negotiated contracts awarded to highway concessionaires. New UMNO leaders can also get old leaders to account for the funds which belong to UMNO.
The right of every citizen in the country is assured by the constitution. There would not be the person who thinks who knows what are good for Malays and who demands that Malays behave in the way he wants. (Remember the persons who accused Malays for forgetting easily; as if Malays are indebted to him for causing the worst corruptions in the country). Malays are free then to do what they choose as their own agenda in life.
The Rulers will remain Constitutional Monarch. They have their role, but UMNO always utilizes the position of Rulers for political purposes. Remember how many times Mamakthir insulted the Rulers! Yet Najib insinuates that the common citizens are unkind to the Rulers.
Islam has 1 billion and more followers in the world. Muslims in Malaysia has only 1% of the total. Does Najib want Malays to believe UMNO is doing the work of defending Islam for the rest of Muslims in the world? Islam is larger than UMNO, and it is a joke that a giant needs a dwarf to defend it.
Did you hear about the new centralised rambutan distribution centre in Putrajaya ? They received a RM 100 million soft loan to build the warehouses, the sorting centre, the chill rooms, the distribution trucks. Ask Cintanegara if he really spent the money on this project or if he diverted some funds to buy cars and condos.
250million. Sekaligus kasi telan semua? Tak. That is the problem with umno. 250m dispensed. A small part of that was used (abused) towards the purchase of two super luxury condo, MB, holidays etc etc. And the rest? Well some used for the project. At least must have something to show ma. Never mind if the number of lembus were far short but at least kalau you mau tengok lembu nah I ada lembu tunjuk. That is the idea. And the balance of the money? Back to umno for election fund. That is why umno must defend the mamak woman like crazy. Besides, I am almost certain that save for maybe one or two super rare specimen in umno (now facing extinction) everyone in umno also looted bigtime. So none could not complain. If at all, it has be done silently like alamak I “melayu jati tapi I cuma dapat 5 juta tapi mamak dapat condo dua buah, MB dan sebagainya.”
Have they forgotten their own little world is aired round the world and round the internet ? How stupid !
UMNO b thieves will never change.
It was like this in the past…shown by the mamak master twister.. for 22 years…and it will be the same …now and forever…and why are they like that?
Simple…all….all of them.. stole so much and is still stealing from Public funds..savings…and once they change… is to admit they are rouges and thieves.
Die.. die…they will not change.
Umno can continue to lie and bul….t,to steal, rob, plunder the national coffer, and stay racist and corrupted, rotten to the core and still win the support of the mainly stupid rural folks. In their so doing, the useless ball lickers from the eunuch MCA,MIC,Gerakan,PBS desirous of crumbs left by their taiko are ever ready to stoop as stooges. All these scumbags need to be wiped off to save Malaysia.
UMNO just committed harakiri….
PR ought to get super ready for GE13…..
Commit harikiri…sure to die.
No die..whole family live in shame.
More like…doing a jungle watusi dance …waiting for the mother of all battles.
We just mark “X” against them…battle is finished…no bullets fired…no one killed.
