Has Muhyiddin performed a “coup” against Najib and other non-UMNO Cabinet Ministers and parties?

Has the Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin done a “coup” against the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak and other non-UMNO Cabinet Ministers and parties including MCA, MIC and Gerakan in unilaterally and arbitrarily without Cabinet authority declaring as “final” the decision to discontinue the PPSMI policy on the teaching of mathematics and science in English and slamming shut the door of a review?

The Prime Minister had promised before the Sarawak polls in April this year that the government would consider using dual languages as the medium of instruction for mathematics and science in schools, and it is precisely because of such an undertaking that the leaders/Ministers from non-UMNO Barisan Nasional parties have come out publicly in support of the principle that parents should be given the option of deciding on continuing with PPSMI in selected schools.

Although Muhyiddin had dismissed calls from the top MCA and MIC leadership that the government allow schools the option to retain PPSMI, declaring that representatives from both MCA and MIC (which would include Gerakan) in the Cabinet had agreed to its abolition in 2009, the Deputy Prime Minister should explain why he had singly, uniaterally and arbitrarily overriden the powers of the Cabinet to review the 2009 decision – and whether Muhyiddin had the full approval and agreement of Najib to make such a “final” decision on PPSMI when the Prime Minister is away from the country?

In any event, if the non-UMNO Cabinet Ministers and parties, such as MCA, MIC, Gerakan and the Sarawak and Sabah Barisan Nasional parties, want to have a full and thorough review of the Cabinet’s 2009 decision on PPSMI so as to allow parents the option to continue with the PPSMI in certain schools, who is Muhyiddin to singly, unilaterally and arbitrarily bar them from doing so?

Has the Deputy Prime Minister any such powers to subject the non-UMNO BN Ministers to such control when even the Prime Minister would not have such powers?

  1. He’s basically part of the UMNO camp that believes that Najib and his supporters are “pondan” and that they should have put their foot down in the first place on everything. He’s basically thrown down the gauntlet. Moo will win because Najib is typically ball-less.

Let’s make this into a BIG issue. Let’s get PKR to accept the freedom of choice, and then we can make this into an election issue.

  2. The talk big DPM got scared with 7000 wives signatures…protesting with a letter to him.
He must have checked the names and ICs….and noted most are UMNO b members…..and now saying …..students are giving options….to study in English the two subjects…if they want.

  3. Muhideen obviously thought that he had a thing or two to teach jib. Tough talking is one of them. He does not seem to know anything about today’s reality TV show attitude people have. Just look at HK and the hongkongers there. Even the chinese government has to thread carefully when it comes to hong kong. So now this muhideen guy just made himself the most hated umno idiot in the country. Worse than nazri, keris, hairy, jib, dr mamak, all in mca and gerakan and mic and taib combined.

  4. Whenever Muhyiddin speaks anything to upset Malaysians and even something contradicting Najib’s comments…you will find Najib never dare to correct his DPM.
Najib is trained how to speak and act by Rosmah…but Rosmah also dare not advise Najib how to defend his leadership against Muhyiddin….because she feels it will be Muhyiddin who will set them free when he becomes PM.

  5. So he moo moo here…moo moo there…moo moo everywhere….to promote himself…with no fear his moos are offending Najib.
Both are blowing hot airs…with different smell.
One blow out human dung with cilipadi smell …the other is exactly cow dung…all over the country.
Both are waiting to see whose dungs smell better and smile like a pig or cow.

  6. ///and whether Muhyiddin had the full approval and agreement of Najib to make such a “final” decision on PPSMI when the Prime Minister is away from the country?///

I bet Muhyiddin was influenced by Perkasa hardliners to discontinue the PPSMI.

BN is facing a grim outlook come GE13 because it has created too many “enemies” for the coalition – Christians in East Malaysia, Bersih participants, shop owners in and around MRT path, worker union displeased with new employment law, students who want academic freedom, parents disappointed with discontinuation of the PPSMI and residents who live near the Pahang Lynas radioactive plant. I wonder how many votes BN will lose to PR because these “enemies”.

  7. When you promote and defend a race…the out come of the race will be split into 2 ways.
But since UMNO b is so corrupted..and include religion into their acts…the split is even worst…the racists..the freedom fighters and the confused.
As for Chinese and Indians….MCA…Gerakan and MIC applying same tactics…can only pray for a miracle.

  8. And so…all the hard work of Najib’s slogans…bribes and threats gone to the dust bins…no level headed and sensible Muslims can be fooled by him now.
Out come UMNO b retired 85 year old “Superman”…advising his UMNO b puppets to retire Najib and move the cow up.
That is now confusing the ministers and UMNO b law makers.
So UMNO b has finally reach the stage there the founder…Mahathir will be the one…. to kill it.
Soon…..our beloved Tunku can rest in peace.

  9. Mamakthir has called for a referendum, which is not a bad thing given the divisiveness of this matter. Let 6 year olds and above vote. Anyone who can read the choice in any language is eligible to vote. Moo’s boys will stuff the ballot boxes with anti-PPSMI votes, Jibby’s boys will stuff them with pro-PPSMI votes…then the final count could far exceed the number of eligible voters.

  10. Really, BN has no concrete plan to lead the nation and is unable to come out with viable plans that can bring the nation into the 21st century. Creating confusion on this rather straight forward issue serves their purpose. This issue has obviously become very political; a divide between the urban voters who see long range and the rural poor who are frightened of being unable to cope with a changing scenario. This is partly the result of the UMNO brand of politics over long term; trying to deprive the rural people the chance to hear the world news! So that they can read only Utusan or Berita! Now UMNO is happy with a line being drawn between the urban and the rural folks! Well, we be steppin backwards for another generation!

  11. It is Mahathir’s grand design to choose the best cow brains politicians to run the country…making him look the smartest of the lot.
Mahathir was most afraid of University students that are smart when he was PM.
The only thing Mahathir is smart is establishing himself as the dirtiest politician you can find in Malaysia…. twisting..turning …like a snake… and have a very thick skin to forget and remember as he likes…performing the hypocritical show…teaching all the cows how to come home after stealing with no fear.
But some of his cows like Najib….Hussein….Muhyiddin…are naturally born with cow brains.
