I have been in contact with the DAP Kedah State Chairman and Kota Darul Aman State Assemblyman Lee Guan Aik on the Kedah ban on 13 types of entertainment outlets from operating during Ramadan.
Lee reports that Kedah DAP had never agreed to the ban and that the matter was never raised at the Kedah Pakatan Rakyat council level, although it was agreed that matters that might be sensitive to the different communities like the ban on entertainment outlets during Ramadan should be discussed at PR Kedah state council level first.
Lee also clarified that he had never agreed to such a ban in the Kedah State Assembly.
In the circumstances, the Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan should reconsider and revoke the decision to fully implement Kedah State Entertainment Enactment 1997, especially as the previous Barisan Nasional state government had not done so in the 11 years before it was ousted in the 2008 general elections.
DAP leaders will raise and discuss the issue of the Kedah ban on entertainment outlets during Ramadan at the meeting of Pakatan Rakyat national leaders next week.
I know you are thinking the best for Rakyat but do you listen to their needs. Rakyat voted you not for you to abuse their right. Listen to them, than only decide. Malaysia is a multi racial country. Please do the right thing on the right time.
This MB of Kedah is not fit to hold the no 1 position in Kedah. He has more than once ignored the rights of the minority. PAS has to change this man as his action will do a lot of harm to Pakatan in the coming GE.
Hatyai is only about an hour and a half away. Better entertainment there too.
I am disappionted with PR. Why do non-muslims have to “puasa” entertainment during Ramadan?
So if PR takes over Putrajaya, then every Ramadan whole of Malaysia no entertainment la..
Scary..very scary.
good move but not in the right time. ppl must be educated first before banning.. maybe state government should tighten enforcement instead of banning . in abu dhabi during ramadhan the working hours is halfday. during tutup puasa time even non-muslim also cannot exposed their drinks/food in public area. the place there is safe. in malaysia we go soft drinks machine on road side. but in abu dhabi there got gold smith machine on road side. no any religions is teaching bad things.
