Should I gnash my teeth and pull my hair out in anger and frustration at Utusan Malaysia’s “garbage of all garbage” write-up accusing me of being a mastermind in PAS party elections?
Or should I just dismiss it with all the contempt which all calumny, lies and falsehoods deserve?
Indeed a classic “do not know whether to laugh or cry” situation!
Penned by Utusan editors hiding behind the pseudonym Awang Selamat, the “garbage of all garbage” must be read by all Malaysians to forewarn them of the terminal mental disease condition afflicting certain powerful personalities walking the corridors of power in the Najib Razak administration. Hence it is quoted in full as follows:
Siapa paling puas?
Bisik-Bisik Mingguan
PELBAGAI analisis berlegar berikutan keputusan pemilihan Pas sempena Muktamar Agung parti itu. Kekalahan golongan ulama paling hangat diperkatakan.
The allegations by Awang Selamat, whether against me or Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, are so preposterous and so fantastic flights of fevered imaginations that they don’t deserve any detailed rebuttal except contemptuous dismissal.
Utusan has reached a new height in venom and vituperation in its wild fulmination today – even putting in the shade Utusan’s irresponsible, seditious and treasonous “DAP-Christian Malaysia” bogey on its front-page last month!
The saving grace is that Utusan’s editors and their real masters are preaching to a diminishing audience (swiftly taking UMNO down the slippery slope to bankruptcy, both political and financial with plummeting circulation ) – which probably explains their screaming desperation by the day.
The Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak spent RM70 million public funds to enlist APCO expertise to promote 1Malaysia – which is being sabotaged everyday by UMNO and Barisan Nasional component parties with the Utusan’s ”garbage of all garbage” today the latest example.
It is the Pakatan Rakyat comprising DAP, PKR and PAS which symbolises the real 1Malaysia – uniting Malaysians regardless of race, religion, geography or socio-economic status – while Barisan Nasional led by Umno hegemon and the impotent and irrelevant 12 other BN component parties which represent a discredited, divided and dispirited nation-building concept!
Otherwise, how could DAP be accused by BN component parties like MCA and Gerakan of having sold out the Malaysian Chinese, Indians and non-Muslims to PAS while UMNO through Utusan is accusing PAS of being stooge and puppet of DAP?
Are the UMNO and BN leaders crazy, schizophrenic or just outright political opportunists and knaves?
Is it because in Barisan Nasional, there is one master and the 12 other component parties in BN are just digits that everyone in BN believes that the PR is similarly constructed – that there is also one master and the rest mere serfs in PR?
They cannot be more wrong.
Pakatan Rakyat is a coalition of equals – and there is no master-and-serf relationship as in Barisan Nasional.
Pakatan Rakyat has come a long way since our establishment two years ago. Malaysians have to be reminded that there was no Pakatan Rakyat during the seminal 2008 general elections as PR was formed after the 308 political tsunami.
Each of the three PR parties – DAP, PKR and PAS – have been developing in the past two years to be better prepared for the greatest political challenge awaiting all Malaysians: the 13th general elections.
Congratulations to the newly-elected PAS leaders. The time has come to deepen political understanding and relationship of DAP, PKR and PAS at all levels, including having regular bilateral apart from multilateral discussions – such as DAP leadership having regular bilateral discussions with PKR and PAS leaderships as well.

Utusan says Hadi, Nik Aziz forced PAS ulama out
By Shannon Teoh
June 05, 2011 | The Malaysian Insider
KUALA LUMPUR, June 5 — The Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia has ironically blamed top PAS ulamas Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat for the ulama faction losing top posts in the party elections over the weekend.
The Malay daily’s weekend edition Mingguan Malaysia said today the president and spiritual leader respectively had caused delegates to vote for progressive leaders instead of the conservative ulama who favour cooperation with Umno.
News editor Zulkiflee Bakar wrote that Abdul Hadi’s policy speech which attacked the Umno-led Barisan Nasional (BN) and focused on taking over government with PAS allies in Pakatan Rakyat (PR) had encouraged delegates to vote for “pro professional” candidates.
“Abdul Hadi was unaware that his speech would raise the spirits of the pro professionals to control the party. Talking about a welfare state gave the impression that ulama leaders were no longer needed as PAS has stopped fighting for an Islamic state,” he wrote.
The editorial added that the Marang MP’s drive to ready PAS for a general election expected within the year had further influenced delegates to ensure that professionals took up this responsibility.
“The ulama in PAS are perceived as weak and unable to face BN in the coming general election. This means the ulama will not have any power or role except to follow whatever strategies that are implemented by the professionals,” it said.
Mohamad Sabu won the party deputy presidency yesterday with 420 votes, leading a group of progressive leaders to counter conservatives who prefer to link up with Umno.
The Penang-born Mohamad defeated incumbent Nasharudin Mat Isa, who received only 224 votes, and vice-president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, who came second with 399 votes. A total of 1,100 delegates voted in this year’s party elections.
In the vice-presidential race, incumbent Salahuddin Ayub took top spot with 753 votes, Datuk Husam Musa was second with 660 votes while another incumbent Datuk Mahfuz Omar kept his post with 616 votes.
The Umno newspaper also blamed spiritual leader Nik Aziz for ensuring that Nasharudin, part of the ulama faction, would fail to defend his No 2 post that has been held by ulama since 1981.
“Nik Aziz failed to advice his nephew Tuan Ibrahim to withdraw to avoid a split vote for ulama. Nik Aziz does not like Nasharudin for his links in trying to form a unity government with Umno even though it is for Malay and Muslim unity,” it said.
Zulkiflee said that the election results would make Abdul Hadi powerless to stop the “wave of political power” by PAS leaders who are loyal to PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“This is all due to the mistake of the president who appeared to endorse this wave through his opening speech,” he wrote.
The party poll was billed as a contest between the party’s conservative ulama faction and the professionals (dubbed the Erdogans in a reference to progressive Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan).
The Erdogans are said to strongly back a coalition with former deputy prime minister Anwar rather than accept negotiations with Umno.
Awang Selamat will next accuse YB Lim of being a mastermind (1)in the killing of Osama,
(2) in the murder of Sarbani,
(3) in the shooting down of Amirulrashid,
(4) in walloping Kugan to death
(5) in pushing TBH out of the window,
(6) in supporting Chin Peng during the Emergency,
(7) in sending the Jews to Hitler’s gas chambers
(8) in giving ICs to the illegals in Sabah
(9) in filming CSL’s hotel room video
(10) in causing the RM12.5 billion PKFZ scam
Powers that Be are worried at PAS’s poll results – no one else to blame except Pas results manipulated by Anwar or LKS (per Perkasa & Utusan). Dedicated to preserving Mahathir’s legacy they’re unaware that that part of the legacy of 22 yrs of Islamisation to compete with PAS in the wake of the then Khomeini Iranian revolution, though expedient at that time to garner Malay Muslim votes has two strategic drawbacks over longer term, now felt:-
1. To compete with Pas over religion UMNO (which is capitalist based in dealings) does not have comparative advantage over PAS’s ulamas, and policies/actions soon mismatch rhetorics;
2. By reason of institutionalization/bureaucratization of religion and implementing religious policies through narrow lens of state paid and sponsored bureaucrats, this only invites rigidity in implementation (eg no to use of Allah in Alkitab whilst PAS says its OK ) that policies from PAS side is not so constrained by bureaucratic limitations. Being more flexible PAS can re-invent (not only in terms of temporarily postponing its theocratic agenda) but be seen pursuing a more inclusive and liberal policy (in the wake of Arab Spring superseding Khomeini’s revolution) thus exchanging places, leaving UMNO to compete the opposite other direction to fill the slot of being seen ultra conservative that UMNO has painted for Pas but not got itself inadvertently falling within that definition!
The deprave mentality runs in the family. What else is new than to blame others of their own countless failings. If a husband has gone astray, blame the wife for not doing a good “job”. So it is new; the defeat of ulamas is due to Anwar and Kit, what else can it be.

Are they laughing or crying?
LOL.Becoz before i read this article, the frame-up of LKS to influence PAS election by Utusan did cross my mind.Bodoh punya Umno..HaHaHaHA.
You think they will focus on the real reasons why PAS will not cooperate with UMNO ? That Hadi had openly said that UMNO goes against real Islam – is corrupt, steals from the rakyat, and slanders others ?
No, all of PAS’ accusations are true – and Utusan can’t do anything about these. They have to find a diversion, and it is probably true that there will be some in the kampungs who will believe this story. Just as some will believe the story that DAP betrayed Bin Laden’s position to the CIA.
Utusan’ cheap jamban stuff..NORM NORM..known to the general at large
Nothing can be truer: Utusan, Perkasa and Mahathir are birds of a feather.
Nothing stinks as much: pure garbage!
Did I say the sound of panic is blowing right through the halls of Putrajaya and a house in Country Heights?
I think less was said when Datuk Trio’s sex video came out.
The panic is real because the problems is only starting to pile up for UMNO/BN..July 9 will be key showdown in downtown KL. Then they can’t hold off on the oil price increase anymore. Global slowdown is already in the cards after that..Scorpene submarine case in French court.
Its just raining problems for UMNO/BN..
A low class so call newspaper like Utusan Malaysia…..keep publishing one sided news …instigating…provoking is not a newspaper at all.
It is a propaganda tool for UMNO B ..nothing more..nothing less…shaming journalism and journalists….exactly like some advocate and solicitors…wher both are supporting dictatorship and racist leaders.
Utusan Malaysia is shamelessly unprofessional telling half truths and lies.
“Nik Aziz failed to advice his nephew Tuan Ibrahim to withdraw to avoid a split vote for ulama. Nik Aziz does not like Nasharudin for his links in trying to form a unity government with Umno even though it is for Malay and Muslim unity,” – Awang Selamat said.
But what Awang Selamat omitted to say is why Nik Aziz failed to advice his nephew Tuan Ibrahim to withdraw in the three corner fight so as to avoid a split vote for the ulama. In fact this is the smartest move carried out by Nik Aziz…for it wasn’t meant to bring down the ulama but to bring down Nasharudin instead. For Nik Aziz (and PAS for that matter) dislikes the notion of any attempt to form a unity government with Umno for such a move is not and won’t be for Malay and Muslim unity, but rather more for UMNO (and the likes of Perkasa) kind of Malay unity with the sole aim of protecting UMNO/BN continued survival as well as remaining in Putrajaya at any cost. So PAS (and Nik Aziz) did the right thing…kick the blardy trouble maker out. Syabas to PAS!!!
The only really comment we have to pay attention is two people – Najib and Mahathir, particularly the latter. If Mahathir comment falls on the sneering like PAS has lost its way or something about Anwar, it means that Najib is still OK for now. However if Mahathir laments something about Malays, then we know Najib is put on notice on his performance. Then we have to see how Najib reacts.
Najib only choice is to give excuses for now, later on, his action will be pretty clear what he is going to do – get ready to run or he is going to buckle down and fight Mahathir. Then it will get interesting.
On d other hand, there is another grp of ppl also don’t know 2 larf or cry over d “generosity” of DAP: RM50 or RM500?
http://www.kwongwah.com.my/news/2011/06/05/21.html
What’s d matter, DAP (Pg)? RM50 4 wayang (but an insult 2 each recipient)? Y O Y?
Utusan must have a readership of morons! No human being with a brain in his head will believe what Utusan is saying.
It’s a wonder there are people buying this garbage newspaper.
Is Utusan a reflection of the Malay intellectual prowess?
I hope I am wrong.
In any civilized country this newspaper would have folded up.
A son of MMK said CONGRATULATIONS 2 DAP n PKR 2 hv succeeded in influencing PAS 2 change its principle of struggling 4 an Islamic state 2 a multi-racial welfare state
Yes, congrats indeed 2 DAP n PKR 4 their positif influence on PAS
What can MCA n Gerakan say now? They r green with envy n wish they too hv similar positif influence on d recalcitrant racist UmnoB
You still don’t understand do you? Why they are doing all this?
Many ‘not so well informed’ people in the non-urban areas who are starved of ‘news’ ACTUALLY BELIEVE every word that is written.
That is why they give visitors from out of town, their hospitality by turning up. Firstly, for the free makan, secondly, for ‘tupper wares and t-shirts’ freebies, and to satisfy their curiosity. Their feeble and less sophisticated minds are easily controlled and moulded.
The intention is very clear. To control the minds. Don’t believe me? Go into their deep heartlands where the DAP is unlikely to have any presence, influence or impact on their daily lives.
Ask the locals: What is the DAP and its stand on issues? Hear the similar replies that automatically come out: selfish, greedy, chauvinist, racist, Chinese-centered, out to rob everybody else, anti-them, ungrateful etc etc.
Where and how did they form such impressions when there are no interactions between the party and them?
So you think the paper is stupid? What have they got to lose when they are fully underwritten, protected and supported?
Uncle Lim you couldn’t have said it more aptly. Indeed what a load of garbage Utusan is!
This is clearly another very strong evidence that Utusan is just shameless and desperate reflecting also its master in the same dire situation.
orang yang paling berkuasa dalam MCA ialah:
1) Perkasa Ibrahim
2) Najib
3) Muhiddin
4) Hishamuddin
yang mana lebih serius?
1) mengurangkan hukuman atas mereka yang terbukti terlibat dengan politik wang; atau
2) dituduh kesalahan seks yang tidak berbukti
