MCA leaders led by its President Datuk Chua Soi Lek have made PAS and the Islamic State as their main weapons in the MCA “scare-and-fear” campaign strategy in the Tenang by-election to frighten the Chinese voters from voting for the Pakatan Rakyat Tenang candidate, Normala Sudirman.
Their first line of attack is that a vote for Normala is a vote for an Islamic State alleging that DAP has betrayed our principles and supported PAS’ Islamic State agenda.
This is a downright lie, as the DAP’s stand on this issue has remained constant and unchanged since the party’s establishment in 1966 – DAP upholds the 1957 Merdeka Constitution which provides that Islam is the official religion but Malaysia is not an Islamic State. The Constitution clearly stipulates that Malaysia is a democratic and secular nation.
After the 308 political tsunami of the 2008 general elections, DAP, PAS and PKR formed the Pakatan Rakyat to spearhead far-reaching political, economic, educational and nation-building changes; end corruption and gross abuses of power; restore national and international confidence in the independence, integrity and professionalism of key national institutions including the judiciary, the civil service, the police, the anti-corruption commission and the election commission; and rebuild our international competitiveness so that Malaysia can take her rightful place in the global economy.
In forming Pakatan Rakyat, DAP, PAS and PKR leaders agreed that Pakatan Rakyat will be guided by what have been agreed upon by the three component parties, which are being spelt out in common PR policy platforms, excluding agendas of individual parties which have not received support from all the three parties.
The Pakatan Rakyat leadership council have also repeatedly affirmed that there must be consensus from DAP, PAS and PKR for any addition or change to the PR common policy framework.
The position of DAP and PR on the Islamic State issue is crystal clear – DAP stands clearly on the constitutional position firstly, that Islam is the official religion with freedom of religion enshrined in the Constitution and secondly, that Malaysia is a secular and not an Islamic state.
This exposes the blatant MCA lie that DAP supports PAS’ Islamic state agenda and that a vote for the PAS/PR candidate Normala can be construed as DAP’s support for PAS’ Islamic State agenda.
The second line of the MCA “scare and fear” attack on the Islamic State issue in Tenang is to warn that the Chinese voters would be sending a dangerous message to UMNO if they vote in support for the PAS candidate as it would be interpreted as support for PAS’ Islamic State agenda.
Chua had asked:
“How will Umno see the Chinese community if you can accept an Islamic state which is more extreme and conservative?
“Would Umno become more Islamic to ensure the Malays support and win back the Chinese votes? This is definite.”
Chua cannot be more wrong.
MCA leaders like Chua Soi Lek should stop playing irresponsible “political games” in the Tenang by-election.
In fact, they should have the courage to tell Umno not to misread Chinese votes for PR candidate Normala as votes for Islamic State when they are in support of PR demand for change, democracy, justice and progress.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had praised Chua and MCA’s “scare and fear” tactics to play up the Islamic State issue in the Tenang by-election.
Why should Chua and MCA leaders fall into Umno’s trap to scare and frighten the Chinese voters in Tenang over the Islamic State issue, when it is not the issue in the by-election, just to vote for the UMNO candidate?
Barisan Nasional’s election tactics in Tenang – Umno telling Malay voters that PAS has become a stooge of DAP while MCA tells the Chinese voters that DAP has become a puppet of PAS – is completely unethical and against the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s 1Malaysia slogan, seeking to “divide-and-rule” rather than to unite the diverse races, religions, languages and cultures in one harmonious “unity in diversity”!
(Speech at the Pakatan Rakyat Tenang by-election ceramah at Labis Tengah on Monday, 24th January 2010 at 9 pm)
MCA until to date, have not brought out any significant policies to better Tenang except, issues to humiliate the beliefs of practicing Muslims.
How will Umno see the Chinese community if you can accept an Islamic state which is more extreme and conservative? – End of quote
Isn’t the questioner so stupid that he didn’t know that UMNO has been toading up to PAS all the time?
The fact is that the latter has rejected them completely!
That such ignoramus can be head of a major party beats imagination!
This unbelievable low own thick shinned MCA man took a shot at PAS candidate for no shaking hands with voters and was told off by DPM…not to stoop so low to get votes.
I guess he will smile it off…with his famous idiotic smile and start all over again..as this man have mud face and pea brain..shaming his own race to the limit.
///MCA leaders like Chua Soi Lek should stop playing irresponsible “political games” in the Tenang by-election. ///
Now everybody should know the true colors of Chua Sok Lek, who is willing to stoop so low as to betray his character in order to fish Chinese votes.
Chua three legs is like umno utrained k-9 dog.Barking relentlessly and was finally admonished by moo jihad deen not to bark at islamic value. No matter how he barks, there will be no free thai gal show not even a glance on Normala’s soft and pretty hand.
What is wrong with Normala shaking hand with a glove? The crucial matter is not shaking hands, but serving the people with a heart of sincerity and honesty. For Normala, she has her principles that she uphold and everyone should respect her as a candidate with principles. I trust that such a person can and do serve people well.
Same as when people male and female want to shake your hand and you back away, what is the impression then ? It is one thing to have principles. It is another when you do something with motives or intentions. If you shake hand out of a good relationship, even Allah will know that. If a simple handshake sends one to hell, what more if one were to make greater sins ? If we are talking about religion. First it is the aurat thing. Then it is the handshake thing. We are getting more and more ridiculous. Ask what is your niat.
omeone should go to Tenang Chinese voters and ask them, Felda settlers get land, orang Asli get houses. Kuala Selangor Chinese get RM1million check. Sibu Chinese voters get big promises too. Where is Tenang Chinese million ringgit?
Chua is going around talking Islamic because Najib has not given him approval to promise millions $ to Chinese in Tenang..They should encourage the Tenang Chinese to ask where is ther Million Ringgits check?
Bigjoe, You have just reminded Pakatan to ask, or rather to ‘cucuk’.( provoke) for the millions to widen the road, to deepen the drains, at Tenang, not at Labis.
I won’t vote for BN Labis Parliament seat either.
We don’t care whether it is Islamic state or not. More importantly, we want to kick out BN. To me, MCA basically does not exist at all.
Soi Lek sudah tua dah, suara makin lembut, not as powerful as he used to be.
Chua Soi Lek’s intention of harping on Islamic issues is to divert Tenang people’s attention from the RM888 billion illicit capital outflows caused by high-level corruption and misgovernance.
the one that is actually very afraid of islamic state is umno itself, IF they are not in power. if this happen, chua so lame and umnoputras will have no hands to shake hands with normala.
ya that’s what will happen to people who steal for a living in an islamic states. so who is more afraid? of course will be those thieves in putrajaya.
///How will Umno see the Chinese community if you can accept an Islamic state which is more extreme and conservative?/// – CSL
That’s not the right question. The right one is how the Chinese Community will see UMNO since its UMNO that is asking their votes for its appendage MCA & Gerakan and not the other way around.
///Would Umno become more Islamic to ensure the Malays support and win back the Chinese votes? This is definite.”/// – CSL
In past elections when many of Chinese votes went to UMNO (under stewardship of Dr Mahathir and Pak Lah in 11th GE) did that deter UMNO from being equally as or more Islamic to compete with PAS over Malay votes?
Definitely no- instead Mahathir declared Malaysia “Islamic nation“!
So what’s the difference? It only shows to the Chinese community that UMNO definitely prioritizes Malay votes over Chinese, and its popularity over MCA’s and it makes no difference whether Chinese voters give their support or not.
So let it be and lets see if this prioritization is a right political gambit and ploy by it. It is time to test the waters.
In fact it is trite that if UMNO wants to play on Non Malays’ & Chinese fears of the Islamic State and get their votes, it should compete to differentiate itself from PAS than the opposite of competing to narrow the difference on yardstick of which is more Islamic.
For when UMNO narrows the measuring cast of difference by such a competition on religious basis with PAS, the traditional reason for Chinese to choose UMNO’s leadership of BN over PAS becomes progressively whittled away as well so that the disadvantage of fear of PAS is equal to the fear of UMNO without the compensating advantages on the other side !
2 believe CSL dat a vote 4 Normala is a vote 4 an Islamic State is like believing him yelling “I am 100% faithful 2 my wife 1! No hanky-panky 1” Tua paoh ong
CSL very ong now lah, Ng Lum Yong (a founding father of PKR) just hopped over 2 kk dark side, praised CSL sky high, kowtow 2 him, n kissed …so shiok 1
Si liao lah PKR, rats r abandoning d sinking junk 4 d luxurious UmnoB/BN cruise linerk
The Chinese are a very clever race. Do you think they can be deceived by MCA’s antics?
If so, they would not voted for PAS in 2008.
True the rural Malays are gullible and UMNO/Utusan can feast on that weakness but Chinese are too smart to fall for MCA lies.
There will be possibly no more series sex DVD according his doctor psychologist.CSL has CCTV phobia already as the doc said.
Tak tahan

A very low-class politician. Only blind Chinese will make him their president.
Like father like son.Wow wow and add some eerie growls is now what the father is teaching his younger one how to survive. Please stop your nonsense to embarrass your family and chinese community more when you should know you are no better than any morally right person to speak on this wearing gloves.
The Chinese especially, the women folks are very scared not because of CSL’s nonsensical talk about PAS Islamic state. They distrust and are wary of his nonsensical deed behind closed door.
another drama show by bn umno gang.
gua dah muak dengan sandiwara diaorang. the never ending game… dah jadi basi!
///How will Umno see the Chinese community if you can accept an Islamic state which is more extreme and conservative?/// – CSL
So CSL now admits that MCA cannot change the thinking of UMNO from becoming more extreme, and that Chinese need to send UMNO a direct message. The most effective message is that Chinese are tired of race-based politics, and that they should stop allowing MCA to pretend that they ‘fight’ for Chinese. So vote a dog or monkey but not MCA, or any party which MCA supports.
Soilek?
Just take a look at him.
At his face.
Now that Mala did not want to shake his hand, he has to shake his right hand with his left.

Soilek is just a bag of rubbish. Not news worthy at all. A waste of bytes anywhere in the Internet really.
But hey, hold on to your potatoes. A diversion. But I could not resist this piece of tech news I saw in BBC online.
“By Jonathan Fildes
Technology reporter, BBC News
The fundamental building blocks of all computing devices could be about to undergo a dramatic change that would allow faster, more efficient machines.
Researchers at computer firm Hewlett Packard (HP) have shown off working devices built using memristors – often described as electronics’ missing link.
These tiny devices were proposed 40 years ago but only fabricated in 2008.
HP says it has now shown that they can be used to crunch data, meaning they could be used to build advanced chips.
That means they could begin to replace transistors – the tiny switches used to build today’s chips.
And, crucially, the unique properties of memristors would allow future chips to both store and process data in the same device.
Today, these functions are done on separate devices, meaning data must be transferred between the two, slowing down the computation and wasting energy.
“The processor and memory could be exactly the same thing,” Dr Stan Williams of HP told BBC News. “That allows us to think differently about how computation could be done.”
Professor Leon Chua – the first person to propose memristors – said the work was “conceptually, just the tip of the iceberg”.
He compared the devices to the human brain’s synapses and axons.
“In the near future we can use memristors to make real brain-like computers, he told BBC News.
Researchers at the University of Michigan recently showed that the devices can mimic synaptic activity in the brain.
The HP work is published in the journal Nature.
Tower chips
Despite being proposed by Professor Chua in 1971, it took almost forty years for a working memristor to be built, by Dr Williams and his team.

Hewlett-Packard’s Stan Williams helped develop ‘memristors’
The tiny devices are the “fourth” basic building block of circuits, after capacitors, resistors and inductors.
“I’m delighted because I never thought this would happen in my lifetime,” said Professor Chua.
The devices get their name from their ability to “remember” the amount of charge that has flowed through them after the power has been switched off.
This means they are suited for building computer memory and storage; an application that Dr Williams believes could be on the market within three years.
“Our immediate goal is to make a competitor to flash memory for cameras, iPods and devices like that,” said Dr Williams.
“Our aspiration is for it to have twice as much available memory as an equivalent sized flash memory device.”
The team has also shown that the memristors can be stacked on top of each other to form 3-D arrays.
“In theory we can connect thousands of layers in a very straightforward fashion,” said Dr Williams.
“It could provide a way of getting a ridiculous amount of memory on a chip.”
Future path
Further into the future, Dr Williams said that he hoped that they could be used to build a single device for storage and computation.
“That would allow a huge speed saving and energy saving,” he said.
Getting more from Moore’s Law
Electronics’ ‘missing link’ found
However, he said, that kind of device was more than a decade away.
Memristors could also help with a problem that continues to challenge the chip industry, continuing to pack more and more computational power into smaller and smaller spaces.
Currently, chip makers follow a path defined by Moore’s Law, which states that the number of transistors it is possible to squeeze in to a chip for a fixed cost doubles every two years.
This is currently achieved by producing transistors with ever smaller feature sizes. Current cutting edge chips have transistors with feature sizes as small as 22 nanometres (22 billionths of a metre).
But this miniaturisation cannot continue forever, experts say.
Memristors offer an alternative path.
“We can continue to make them smaller even past the point where people think that transistors cannot shrink any further,” said Dr Williams.
Crucially, said Dr Williams, they can be built using “materials commonly available in any fab [chip fabrication plant]”.
Professor James Tour of Rice University in Houston said the memristor’s ability to be compatible with existing transistor based technologies was a “critical parameter to permit rapid implementation into present chip manufacturing processes”.
Dr Williams said he had already made “crude” prototypes with features as small as 3nm.
“The functional equivalent of Moore’s Law could go on for decades after we hit the wall where we can no longer shrink transistors,” he said.”
Wooow.
And jib is only talking about US$15,000 annual income in 9 yrs time.
Good grief!
///Their first line of attack is that a vote for Normala is a vote for an Islamic State alleging that DAP has betrayed our principles and supported PAS’ Islamic State agenda.///
Chua Soi Lek’s “scare-and-fear” campaign strategy in the Tenang by-election to frighten the Chinese voters from voting for the Pakatan Rakyat Tenang candidate, Normala Sudirman, will have no significant impact on them because the Islamic State issue is an old issue. After Tsunami 308, both PAS and DAP publicly declared their stand and ideals. Both parties knew each other’s agenda and intent, and hence there is nothing left for Chinese voters to speculate about. On the contrary, a non-transparent party like BN with concealed ambitions could hurt Chinese voter interests.
A doctor who couldn’t find a way to cover his own track has nothing to offer the Community except harping on issues which have no impact on the nation. On issues that have direct impact on the nation, he has nothing to offer, he is the bogeyman which the Big brother has planted in MCA; hence the existence of MCA is irrelevant. Even his Minister at the transport ministry can only inspect bus drivers while more important issues affecting his Ministry are left to rot and amplify. The whole bunch of the current MCA leaders are not even elected by the people and how can they claim they are speaking on behalf of the people?? If this is the standard and the mindset of MCA, please refrain from saying that you represent the interests of the Community or the people of this nation.
For decades, they speak for a very small section of Chinese community, in particular the business community.
It is not in the long term interest of minority races and the country as a whole to play the narrow, damaging and divisive politics of race and religion.
The controversy stirred up by CSL over the handshake issue could be a deliberate tactic to secure the Chinese votes. BN could have done their homework and is comfortable with securing a sizable bloc of Malay votes large enough for them to afford to risk it with this controversy even though it might offend some of the Malay voters in Tenang. They must also have found out that the Chinese voter support is so weak that whatever they can secure is not enough to win the seat. So they are prepared to gamble on taking this approach to win more Chinese votes which can more than offset whatever Malay votes they might lose over this handshake issue. PR must take note of this possibility and feel the sentiments on the ground thoroughly to avoid being led down the garden path and into the BN trap by harling on this handshake issue. The Malay votes PR might gain from this handshake controversy might not be sufficient to offset the loss of Chinese votes to BN arising from CSL and MCA’s exploitation of this matter.
error “…BN trap by harping on this issue.”
Bought one traitor from PKR and made him accuse Anwar and PKR of all sort of lies.
Why do it only during the election period?
You think the Chinese will believe you.
You’re a very sick man, CSL!
As for lies that you buggers spread against Pas.
The truth is that the Chinese fear and hate UmnoBN more than Pas!
Please have your brain scanned!
Whatever, CSL’s goose is cooked. Come the next MCA elections, he will be on his way out as party president. He has shown his worth, or rather none of it, in his short sojourn as party chief. He is the Great Pretender and all Chinese will know how to deal with this collaborator when the time is ripe.
CSL,pls give your son the masterpiece legacy of your sex voyage before yours are due to retire in the naturehood of getting older age noh liap hood.
CSL,you should say hudud law will require your ding dong be pancung la.It might works, you know?
Adi..the re captha made me gila la.Why not instead have to key in doctor’s lines of writing?Ar..
shoul be ding dong to be pancung la.
CSL should ask Najib why he’s fighting tooth & nail in the Tenang by-election when his face isn’t even allowed to appear in the BANNERS put up all over the town. Is CSL fighting hard for BN or for UMNO??? The arrogance of UMNO when they think that this by-election is for them since only Najib, Muhidin & Ghani’s heads are allowed to ‘fly’ in the BANNERS! How sad for MCA, MIC & the rest of the gang……. Look at the Pakatan BANNER… everyone has a share in it….Good for U, Pakatan
Why is CSL keep insulting Islam? Why is he so afraid of Islam? BTW, what is the punishment under Islam for adultery?
CSL should set new plans for the chinese in Tenang instead of picking on other’s weak point like not shaking hand. and not shaking hand is not a weak point. CSL is not fit to be the chinese leader. he did not show his gentleman manners but instead he has shown how cheap he can be. btw, he showed in DVDs of his other gentleman ways.
Third legs knows his son inherited his l.n.g third leg, that’s why he pulled his junior in to attract the targeted majority votes as mandatory..So next will be the junior DVD improvised part 2 series.OK?Yo Yo!!!
