  1. Christmas is a very special and holy day for all Christians. It is the day their saviour Jesus Christ was born to save the world.

    So we should say “Holy Christmas” or at least “Merry Christmas” or “Selamat Hari Natal” for this very special birthday, a day of joy and hope.

    But it has come to pass where the meaning of this special day is lost and is no longer appreciated by many.

    We now wish each other “Seasons Greetings” and “Happy Holidays” so as not to offend sensitive peoples and to be politically correct.

    Also “Golden Keris” and “Santa Festival” are used by some communities for this holy day.

    Rais Yatim as Minister once listed Christmas as a “cultural” event in the government’s calender.

    And the symbol of Christmas, a holy day for many, is depicted by images of Santa Claus, Christmas trees and other ornaments. Decorations are fine but let us not forget the birthday boy for whom Christians are celebrating his birth.

    Why can’t we just wish:

    “Happy and Holy Christmas” and “Selamat Hari Natal”.

  2. How 2 b Merry n Happy when d nation is badly governed n rolling down d slippery bankruptcy slope?

    Now who wants to quarrel about which is the world’s best, ketuanan or true religion?

    Let’s live and let live.

    DESIDERATA

    Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
    and remember what peace there may be in silence.

    As far as possible, without surrender,
    be on good terms with all persons.
    Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
    and listen to others,
    even to the dull and the ignorant;
    they too have their story.
    Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
    they are vexatious to the spirit.

    If you compare yourself with others,
    you may become vain or bitter,
    for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
    Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
    Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
    it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

    Exercise caution in your business affairs,
    for the world is full of trickery.
    But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
    many persons strive for high ideals,
    and everywhere life is full of heroism.
    Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
    Neither be cynical about love,
    for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
    it is as perennial as the grass.

    Take kindly the counsel of the years,
    gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
    Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
    But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
    Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

    Beyond a wholesome discipline,
    be gentle with yourself.
    You are a child of the universe
    no less than the trees and the stars;
    you have a right to be here.
    And whether or not it is clear to you,
    no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

    Therefore be at peace with God,
    whatever you conceive Him to be.
    And whatever your labors and aspirations,
    in the noisy confusion of life,
    keep peace in your soul.

    With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
    it is still a beautiful world.
    Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR

  4. Col:1:26: Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
    Col:1:27: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

    Born that man no more may die
    Born to raise the sons of earth
    Born to give them second birth
    Hark! The herald angels sing
    “Glory to the newborn King!”

    Don’t be complacent. Help to get rid of the sham, drudgery, and broken dreams to make a much more beautiful world. And the first step is to deny umno a win in Tenang on Jan 30, 2011.
