The Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has degraded political discourse with his vicious attacks on Pakatan Rakyat as “anti-national”, “evil”, “despicable”, “very dangerous” etc which can only boomerang on him and Barisan Nasional leaders.
In fact, in his speech to the Barisan Nasional convention yesterday, Najib was guilty of three of the four “political diseases” he had warned would crush the Barisan Nasional, viz delusion, amnesia and arrogance.
Najib was guilty of delusion when he spoke of Barisan Nasional’s “manifest destiny” to “bring this great nation, Malaysia, to its fullest potential” when Malaysia had been losing out to one country after another in economic development and progress in the past five decades, with an unchecked brain drain and domestic capital outflow to the extent that the country was warned recently by a Cabinet Minister that the country was heading towards bankruptcy in 2019.
Najib was guilty of amnesia when he so easily forgot the reasons why Barisan Nasional suffered its worst electoral defeat in the 2008 general elections, losing five state governments and parliamentary two-thirds majority.
Najib was guilty of arrogance when he presented the next general elections battle as one between “good vs evil”, “loyalty vs treachery” and “patriotism vs anti-national’, as if corruption, rent-seeking, abuses of power and human right violations are the by-words for good, loyalty and patriotism while commitment to uphold and restore constitutional and political integrity, justice, rule of law and human rights represent evil, treachery and being “anti-national”.
As Prime Minister and leader for all Malaysians if his 1Malaysia concept is to be taken seriously, Najib should be mindful of Dr. Samuel Johnson’s dictum “Patriotism is the last refuge of scoundrels” and should not set the bad example of doubting the sincerity, bona fide or worse the patriotism of political adversaries.
If Najib is serious in his charges that Pakatan Rakyat leaders are “anti-national”, “evil”, “despicable”, “very dangerous”, and a string of other epithets, is he prepared to agree to a whole series of live television debates between BN and PR leaders on who is really “anti-national”, “evil”, “despicable”, “very dangerous” – whether Barisan Nasional or Pakatan Rakyat?
Najib must first get rid of the log in his own eye before attempting to criticize another political party.
Well at least they charge one of their own- Selangor Opposition head Khir Toyo (who says Pakatan State govt was worse than his) for graft over the purchase of land for his Balinese-style mansion in Shah Alam. GE must be around the corner.
GE is around the corner. Uncle Lim Kit Siang please prepare Pakatan Rakyat for the next election. It is not going to be tsunami, it will be massive earthquake.
We need a better and clear policy from Pakatan Rakyat, not empty promise, and we need to know how long will it takes to accomplish the goals set by Pakatan Rakyat.
I am satisfy at how Penang is manage, and we can do better.
We need a better Malaysia.
Easi 2 charge any1 lah
But when cases concern UmnoB/BN kakis, witnesses say “lupa dis, lupa dat” or give contradictory statements, or prosecuting officers later make a mess during d trial, eventually case thrown out, no case mah
Wayang 4 all 2 C loh
Najib is all b-s.
He only speaks on what the APCO speech writers give him. Nothing is original of course, just a lot of rehash and refried stuff.
Dare he go on a 1 to 1 debate with a senior opposition politician? He would be minced meat.
D best voters can do in d next GE is 2 kick out UmnoB/BN n vote in PR
Then, appoint new AG n judges, n hv d anti-national, evil, despicable Indon dentist charged n tried r corruption, no play play wayang 1
Iran is labelled by the Americans as part of the axis of evil, and the Iranians in turn called the US “The Great Satan”.
Now that PR has been labelled by Jib as “evil”, he should be ready to receive the title “The Great Satan”.
Najis will rather sweep all the wrong doings under pdrm, macc, judiciary’s carpets. The balance najis n kencing will be flushed into jamban.Come to worst,c4 the jamban and carpets. As for debate, najis will softly whisper to LKS,”u help me,i help you loh”
That one stupid BTN fella’s reference to mata sepet and kaki botol in one sweep degraded (a) (wot?) 1.7b chinese, koreans, japanese and mongolians and (b) (wot?) 1.3b indians in the world. That is a total of some 3b people scorned by umno in one (or maybe two) simple sentence(s).
And hardly did jib ever realise that associating the oppositions with anti-nationals and the devils etc means treating the more than 50% of the electorates in the country as anti-nationals and devils.
Good Grief! This fella definately has a pea for brain and it is stuck in his rear.
Najib is right about his UMNO gang , they are : “anti-national”, “evil”, “despicable”, “very dangerous” etc . The UMNOs’ racist government policies are proof of what he called himself.
Do you listen to his speech?
“Kita tahu mereka teringin sangat nak ada pejabat di Putrajaya, teringin sangat nak tinggal di Seri Perdana. Kerana itulah mereka sanggup berbuat apapun.
“Kalau teringin sahaja tak apa, tapi teringin sangat, itu yang bahaya,” katanya yang disambut ketawa sinis hadirin.
Childish speech by Najis.
Najib greatest disease in the end is his mediocrity that he is deluded he is not. He don’t have a plan and he is literally coming apart. When asked about possible coming election, he laugh at the speculators and then says it can happen anytime.. Its classic evidence of t someone who is just losing control – of his plans, his administration and his leadership.
The only question remain is how his career will end. There is a number of possible scenario. The worst would be if UMNO/BN cannot gain back some ground and put Mahathir prediction and his legacy in ruin. Mahathir would be the butt of so many jokes with Anwar smilling so broadly that the geezer would not be able to take it. A screaming match between Najib and Mahathir would be unavoidable leading ultimately to mutual destruction.
The best he can do is that he does not gain enough ground and evidence become too clear the can’t lead UMNO to better that he will be exposed as the Emperor who wears no clothes and be ousted.
No matter how, his end is for sure already. Its just a question of how it all ends that is all..
My dear LKS. Beware of Najis fork tongue. Is he trying to invoke ISA on PR’s leaders by branding them as anti-national, evil and very dangerous etc. etc. Be very careful as not to fall into this fella’s devious and cunning schemes.
If you note carefully, Najib attack on PR is all over the place – there is no consistent message at all. He did not back up his vitriol with any evidence. It should also not escape anyone that his speech was all negative campaign and offers nothing to the machinery to sell but only approving weapons to attack.
Anwar is right, Najib is desperate but you have to wonder if he even knows that. You get a sense his subconscious knows he but he has surpressed it from his conscious minds.
is this not how the Nazis branded the Jews before they began the extermination campaign?
Instead of discussing issues or even challenge the Opposition to a debate we are seeing a litany of insults and that of a low quality.
In one fell swoop, the Devil Incarnate has upgraded corruption, abuses, irresponsibility and dereliction of duty to the people as the new gold standard of virtues in Bolehland.
If you read the Star today, you will not find such embarrassing outburst on the front page.
His best words are “you help me, I help you” This is really bad coming from a “”prime minister”!
“People who live in glass houses
Should not throw stones”
The PM must stop such discourses
That wise people will never condone
Bear in mind the saying above
Do not abuse your high position
Obey God having faith, hope and love
True love that shows itself in action (1 John 3:18)
SILLY RETHORICS
