Are Umno leaders to issue the “Get Out from BN!” order to MCA Ministers if MCA cannot recapture Chinese support?

The New Straits Times headline today ‘MCA must prove it can recapture Chinese support‘ has come as no surprise, considering the utterances and threats which have become the staple diet of some UMNO leaders who are suffering from a terminal denial syndrome refusing to admit that the biggest problem faced by Barisan Nasional post-March 8 political tsunami stem from Umno and not the other BN component parties.

In fact, what is surprising is that the warning had not been made by Perkasa, which seemed to have received the out-sourcing of such chores from Umno, but from none other than Umno Vice President Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein after the general assembly of 30 Umno branches in Cameron Highlands yesterday.

The question is: Are Umno leaders going to issue a “Get Out from BN” order to MCA Ministers if MCA cannot recapture Chinese support?

I myself was surprised to read of the admission by the MCA President Datuk Dr. Chua Soi Lek in the Star last Friday that MCA leaders accept that MCA only had 14% Chinese support in Hulu Selangor at the start of the recent by-election.

May be this is a good stratagem by Chua to show that he had successfully clawed back Chinese voter support in Hulu Selangor from 14% to 25-28% in the by-election campaign, favourably reflecting on his leadership qualities, instead of having to explain why MCA support among the Chinese voters had fallen from 38% in 2008 general election to 25-28% in the by-election!

Be that as it may, will Hishammuddin lead the Umno campaign to issue the “Get Out from BN” order to MCA if MCA cannot recapture Chinese support?

Has Gerakan been issued with a similar warning from Umno leaders to recapture Chinese support or faces the consequence?

If MCA had only 14% Chinese voter support in Hulu Selangor at the start of the by-election, what is Gerakan’s Chinese voter support? One or two percent?

Only Gerakan leaders will know whether they have received such warnings from Umno, although the Gerakan President Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon is publicly preparing the ground for an Umno Chief Minister to be installed in Penang – i.e. if Barisan Nasional topples Lim Guan Eng as Penang Chief Minister and the Pakatan Rakyat Penang State Government.

MCA National Vice President and Health Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai has recommended in his twitter an article by Tan Siok Choo on “Umno-MCA relationship was more than gratitude’.

Siok Choo writes about her grandfather Tun Tan Cheng Lock and father Tun Tan Siew Sin. Nobody, would have believed that Cheng Lock or Siew Sin would have tolerated any “MCA must prove it can recapture Chinese support” nonsense from any Umno leader – raising the question the different calibre in the MCA leaderships of today as compared to its founding generation.

Now, the MCA leadership have their hands full just coping with the Umno out-sourced outfit, Perkasa, not to mention the lordly pronouncements and warnings from the Umno national leadership!

  1. Najib’s statement “UMNO must be the leader of the pack because MCA and MIC are weak” is another hint to MCA and MIC that they must do their job well (bring in supporters), otherwise they will be given inferior status in BN.

  2. Despite being humiliated by Umno and Perkasa,Mca still wants to remain in Bn.It is because their leaders are eunuchs and have elephant skin. They and their super rich chinese tycoons supporters are hypocrites and also opportunists.

  3. I keep saying. Najib has moved Ketuanan Melayu forward. Ketuanan Melayu has always and will always be preceded by the gaining of power by the autocracy or the elite or UMNOputras in UMNO. Its precisely why the system is so corrupt and fails ordinary Malays because it has to be.

KTK, MIC and MCA have become lesser lords in UMNO kingdom who, suffering from their own miscalculations, must further seek protection from UMNO king who extracts a price for protection. This is how feudal systems work, the feudal lords that fails are replaced by stronger lords by arbitration of the king.

Make no mistake that Ketuanan Melayu is moving forward under Najib. KTK is coming to the realisation that he can never serve his master the same way he did before. He must accept a lesser role but at the very least he still has a role even if he is just a court-jester. Better than to be thrown out of the royal court and have to fend for himself.

If the feudal lords replacing the weaker lords are better, the system can survive but the problem is these declining lords were actually the best and their decline merely show the decline of the entire system. Its basically feeding on to itself to survive. When the king runs out of lords to confiscate their property, the whole thing falls apart, abruptly.

The question is does Najib understand that the fall of KTK is a systematic problem of the UMNO plutocracy or is he the prodigal heir that will lead it to its natural end.

  4. Do wahtever MCA likes but remember not to accept them into Pakatan rakyat. These dogs have “Corrupted” blood running in their veins.Their virus will poison the people in PR.

  5. If UMNO says MCA must prove that it can recapture Chinese support, it is already a clear sign that MCA is subservient in having to account to the senior partner of the coalition for the lack of its constituency’s support eroded and caused by the very same party that demands it now to show cause why its still relevant! What an irony!

Therefore to correct that subservience MCA will have to grow more spine and re-assert its constituency’s rights, which to do so, will again be disapproved by the senior partner leading to further humiliation or even expulsion from the coalition.

Either way MCA has no room to move except to exit from the coalition. It is not a question of if but only when it has to do it. This is because UMNO is more likely to be radical as time passes than the other way round. As BigJoe said in #4 “Najib has moved Ketuanan Melayu forward”. Any hope that it will be more moderate from his ‘1 Malaysia’ motto is sanguine considering that in Hulu Selangor, communal appeal (with, in Kit’s words, “the out sourced outfit”’s help) was the main focus of UMNO campaign that won more votes right under the banner of ‘1 Malaysia’, thus unmasking it’s inclusive pretentions as irrelevant or meaningless. It stands to reason that the sooner the exit on one’s own is the better course than being pressured out. Because of the imminent GE MCA should rightly consider throwing the gauntlet back and test if the BN can risk at this juncture its exit from BN to face the next GE. The prospect of MCA’s leaders doing it is of course slim having regard to what Datuk Liow Tiong Lai recommended in his twitter – the article by Tan Siok Choo on “Umno-MCA relationship was more than gratitude’”. That thrust of that article is apparently to advocate MCA to stay on appealing to the Chinese to return the support to provide it the necessary leverage against UMNO….

Tan Siew Sin’s words were quoted by Tan Siok Choo in her article: (Quote) “MCA can only be as strong as the support given to it. It is useless to say that you cannot support the MCA unless it shows that it can do something for you.” This, he (Siew Sin) emphasised, is like telling a man that you cannot provide him with capital for starting a business unless he first proves that he can make a success of such a business” (Unquote).

This – it must be mentioned – is a wrong analogy. The appeal will fall on deaf ears.

For the man here (MCA) is not exactly the MCA or MCA’s leaders of Tun Tan Siew Sin’s time. The man here are the present crop and their predecessors who have already been provided the capital (Chinese support) for fifty years that they have squandered and frittered and left shareholders poor in shareholders’ value. The man here, like the Board of Directors of a failed company should be sacked, and replaced or else let the company (MCA) be wound up!

In such a case it is the man who should show cause why he should be provided further capital – and not the other way around, [good try, Siok Choo] – because he has already squandered the capital and repeated top ups earlier provided and still failed to account for it.

  6. New word but old stuff really.

Jib said umno must be leader of bn. Now wot the heck is dat?

Dat my friends is plain old “umno-the-bully” by another word.

Even perkasa, a mere pressure group, enjoys higher standing that mca, mic and the rest.

So you see, in umno’s view, malaysia needs only umnoputras. Everyone else is redundant!

Amazingly, I somehow get the feeling that the HS by-election win seems to unsettle the already rocky umno further and tremendously.

BTW. Wots with the extrajudicial execution of two taiping indian brothers as reported by RPK in MT? Check out MT. See for yourself the gun-shot wounds inflicted to their respective temples.

  7. When MCA and MIC leave BN, Gerakan will follow too. The UMNO would be the old PMIP, except that the leaders are not as religious. The leading political parties in Sabah and Sarawak will then get a chance to ensure that they retain the status as equal partner joining to form the Malaysian nation, rather than being absorbed as one of the states in Malaysia.

  8. With Ketuanan Melayu shouting louder than 1Malaysia, MCA should know better what to do if it has the balls to do what is right. Or is it waiting for itself to be kicked out before it is satisfied?

  9. Sdr Lim, I do not know MCA’s in or out of BN is your concern, unless you have reasons beyond my discernment.

The fact is UMNO will continue to use the dual track strategy – to be extreme in order to attract the support of the Malays and at the same time buying time to engage with the Non Malays. The strategy has worked. Hulu Selangor victory is not just because UMNO was able to attract more Malays’ votes. The reality was MCA was still able to supply the coalition with about 20% of the Chinese votes and even higher percentage from the Indians. Without the support of Chinese and Indians (although very minimal), BN still can not win.

MCA is subservient to UMNO is a fact and there is no need to talk about that. The subservience of MCA is not just in recent times. It was since the very beginning. PAP would have finished off MCA in the 1960s but of course UMNO was smart enough to get PAP out of the way. So the issue of MCA lacking Chinese support is not something new. MCA candidates have always depended on Malays support and the reason, as we all know, is never to secure Chinese right to equal citizenship but to give the government a multiracial image. It is stupid of UMNO leaders to say MCA and MIC lack their respective communities’ support and should leave the coalition. The two parties have existed for the benefit of UMNO the past 50 years. However, if the statement is made within the context of its dual track strategy, then it is a different matter all together. I strongly believe MCA and MIC cannot make unilateral decision to leave or to stay within BN. They don’t have the tenacity and the courage to do it. It would be up to UMNO to decide whether these hapless parties are in or out of BN. It is that simple; if UMNO genuinely want a more broad based support, they should replace all its existing coalition partners with DAP, PKR and PAS. UMNO’s policies would then have to change to pave the way for true national reconciliation. It is my day dreaming.

  10. MCA can never get Chinese support because UMNO policies ensure that Chinese are not fairly treated, and Chinese know that. How then can Chinese support MCA when MCA cannot make UMNO drop NEP after the 20-year term has ended, and NEP extended for the same length of time, and counting?

The demand by UMNO of MCA is no different from the demand by the mother-in-law of the daugher-in-law to make good food but without providing the material to do so.

There is no way MCA can gain Chinese support if UMNO maintains its racist paolicies. MCA leaders can of course continue to fool themselves that they can do differently to gain support, knowing that to be untrue, but still enjoy the perks as ministers. They are however looked down upon by the Chinese community for seeling their soul on the cheap. Morever, they still have to endure the humiliation of the whole hierachy of UMNO thugs.

Now that MCA has been offered the way out, they should just grab the opportunity, lest they are blamed for rocking the boat doing so at other time.

  11. Loh, I fully subscribe to what you said but I feel that MCA’s leaders, either present or past, do not have the courage and the tenacity to leave the coalition. MCA leaders were/are in politics for a wrong reason. They are businessmen first and community leaders second. They do not understand what equal citizenship is all about. They do not understand dignity and honour; they are only interested to become rich and comfortable. Put it simply, they do not have the right DNA to be true politicians. They need UMNO to pop them up from time to time. If ever there is a reason for MCA to continue to exist, it should be a self-help NGOs.

  12. MCA, Gerakan, MIC members replied: No problemo, O keris-waving master
We will all convert 2 Muslims like saudara Ridhuan Tee
Potong potong n b members of UmnoB
    BN then become truly 1UmnoB

  13. Who cares about MCA..Gerakan…Soi Lek and Hishammuddin.
We know for ages..MCA never had vast majority Malaysian Chinese support…and only now…Soi Lek knows?
You se..had Soi Lek kept quiet and talk big like Samy Vellu…Hishamuddin will play the part of a fool and close two eyes.
But Soi Lek admitted only 15% support in HS by election…makes UMNO loose face…talking big…..about …how Malaysians support UMNO..which depended on the Malay votes…..and what better ways…than to bribe and succeed.

  14. And yes…what Hishamuddin said…is insulting to MCA…and a warning too.
You can expect MCA puppets to keep quiet and treat all UMNO ministers with the kindest respect….for without UMNO……MCA is dead.
YES!! Why Kris big mouth….no faark Gerakan…..which is a truly dead party…..in BN.
You know why?…because Koh Tsu Khoon. is an expert UMNO balls carrier.

  15. MCA members, if smart, shld call an EGM n dissolve MCA, sell all MCA properties, assets, n shares, n share out d money generated
Better take d money now n say bye-bye b4 d top vultures wallop all d goodies

  16. Gerakan already have been treated like dirt and yet its leaders are still clinging to UMNO’s sarongs begging for another chance. It is like a spurned lover crying and begging for love.
    GERAKAN is dead in Pg.
Similarly MCA is gasping for breath. Its leaders too refused to leave BN because most of them are too tainted. They have nooses hanging round their necks and will tighten or oosen depending on thei behaviour.
The famous one is the porn actor who indulged in abnormal sex. Will he not be charged if he misbehave? Similarly some are well rewarded with luxury cars and I believe their ‘tai ko’ knew about it. Just misbehave and the noose tightens.
MCA lie GERAKAN really ‘sia soay’ in Hokkien to the Chinese

  17. How can chinese support a party when it’s leader been purged due to higlighting corruption in the Government? How can u expect it’s current leader to fight for thier rights? UMNO expects MCA President and the party to just act and listen to thier instruction, if not or speak to much they will “arrange” an EGM to take him/her out! :-(

  18. “The New Straits Times headline today ‘MCA must prove it can recapture Chinese support‘…”

It has been hard for Chinese to accept and support our porn star MCA Chairman. The liars and suckers are gone; here comes a porn star to lead and head the party. What can this porn does to MCA and all Chinese? Well, “old wine in new bottle…” That’s it!!!

Even our Hanjin Chengho has been pretty busying without popping in LKS blog to post comments as he did before the by-election at Hulu Selangor. After Pussit-kat awarded 3millions to our porn star MCA Chairman, Hanjin Chengho has been stalking our our porn star for pie/cake sharing business….

  19. The question should be does UMNO really think it can go alone without the component parties. What then would become of their communalistic “power sharing” ideology? Sometimes they do sound confused.

Siok Choo wants people to remember the contribution of her father. Sure we remember him. Just a remembrance but nothing more. New generation Malaysian of ethnic Chinese origin don’t owe MCA a living. They are born here and are proud to be Malaysians.

  20. Liow, Wee n other UmnoB-sanctioned MCA ministers/deputy ministers r all shivering n begging 4 mercy, 4 fear of losing their jobs n big fat salaries n perks
How can they leave BN? Pak si boh jau – if UmnoB want them 2 b Kam A Lan, yes sir, they will gladly oblige

Someone in d little dot recently said:
    Here, it is Singaporean Singapore
Up there it is Malay Malaysia, though called 1Malaysia

  21. Hey MCA!! You are damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

Why don’t you do a massive froggie dance on the eve of GE13? Give UMNO a taste of their own medicine that they have been trying to shove down PR’s throat with Halili and all those PKR frogs. Except that if you do it on the eve of GE 13 it will be a lot bitter for them.

    Got balls for it?

  22. Tolong, tolong, jangan ask us to get out fr BN
Call us pendatang, call us descendants of beggars, thieves n prostitutes
Semua OK – Guess siapa dia?

Even Joseph Salang, a Dayak minister, told Sibu Chinese 2 accept racist UmnoB n Perkasa n 2 vote 4 BN
Truly a pitiful no maruah bangsat

  23. hahahahaha….Grace is back!
    Read her comment.
She is really smart…rusty a little..but if she post more often…and take an interest in politics…she can help to open the eyes of young voters.
    God bless you Grace.
    Please keep posting regularly.

  24. Get out before you further humiliate the ordinary Chinese……and place the community in harm’s way of the extremist who thought ALL Chinese benefited substantially from decades of discriminative policies.

  25. These MCA running dogs are just waiting to be kicked out…rather then doing the honorable thing, get out voluntarily…perhaps, there are still cherries for the picking!
What support can they (MCA) recapture from the Chinese community for BN? They are a bunch of dead pricks…….

  26. “Sia soay” Grace said of mca. What a powerful word. I like it. So to all of you idiots in mca pls “mai sia soay lang mai sia soay ka ki mai sia soay cho sian.”

Oh. How coincidental. How apt. My two captcha words are “the oilfields”. Yeah we are now two oilfields less and US100b poorer.

  27. MCA and for that matter MIC/GERAKAN/PPP etc…are all irrelevant to their respective communities in Malaysia since 0308.
Just look at the 52+ years what have they done for the communities?????? Everyone knows the answers. As a matter of fact, their communities got worst in terms of economic and educational pies to mention a few.
Till todate we so called Malaysians still harp on race, religion and who is the ketuanan etc…. Look at the newly formed Perkasa with all their racialistic, arrogant and dickhead leaders. Do UMNO dare to tell them to fly kites. Big fat NO la.
These two are one and the same. I scratch your balls and you scratch mind.
At the same time do one think that these component parties got the balls to leave BN?? Once again, the answer is obvious.
Present bunch of leaders in these component parties are living so comfortably and their integrity is so so questionable, will they care ????????? Again everyone knows the answer.
    This is reality in Bolehland.
PKR is fighting an uphill battle. The party has recently been sold out and betrayed by some so called selfish and greedy leaders with questionable integrity. No matter what, at least, there is a slime chance that they can help check and prevent abuse by the present bunch of so called leaders running the country. We must give our undivided support to them PR/PAS/DAP at all times under all circumstances for the sake of the country moving forward. We must irrespective.

  28. UMNO Baru will again tell us “pendatang” to get out of our country.

Quote UMNO ex-MP of Jerai (Kedah), Badruddin Amiruldin “You tak suka, you keluar dari M’sia” (source: Hansard 11 July 2005 Pg 34-35)

He is representative of UMNO’s ketuanan mentality in which all non Malays are unwanted “pendatang” who “steal” money from the Malays & live here as unwanted guest.

UMNO Baru has never accepted the non Malays as rightful citizens of our beloved country despite what is written in the constitution. Their mentality has always & will always be blame the non Malays for all the woes of the Malays. Some “pendatang” has been here since 1420’s (the Melaka baba & nyonya), even longer than the 1st generation Indon immigrant ex-Menteri Besar. But then, Indons are most welcome compared to “pendatang”.

Will we turn into another Uganda (kick the “pendatang” out) or Zimbabwe (grab assets of “pendatang”)? Just look at where Uganda & Zimbabwe is now after how they treated (actually stolen all the assets) the “pendatang”. Country in ruin. Hyper inflation. Hyper unemployment. Zero FDI. A pariah of the international community. But then Mugabe is so proud of being a big & rich tuan that he doesnt care what happens next.

  29. This is BN internal matter , why Dap so concern unless Dap know MCA is the best party for malaysian chinese . Dr Chua is a great leader for MCA , he can unite the party back and kick out the rocket to the moon ..
Line 3 and line 4 for HS by election show the young voter malaysian chinese supported MCA/BN…

  30. Chengho…LKS has the right to give his opinions.
Do you support freedom of speech?
How do you know sex man is a great leader. He just got he job…one month ago.
Did he swing Chinese votes for Najib at Hulu Selangor?
Sex man kick DAP out…you say?
Why you are getting more and more illogical…each day. Just came out from the lunatic asylum for treatment? Seems no improvement still.
hahahahahaha…young Chinese voters supported MCA at Hulu Selangor? Did you read sex man comments..after getting the result and Hishammuddin warning MCA to buck up?
Why do you keep choosing to talk cock…with no facts?

  31. Corruption is already Malaysian way of life. Action based on self-preservation against principles. It has transcended all races or parties. Talk is cheap. Priorities in Malaysia have skewed. First Self-Enrichment. Second Families and Cronies. Third Own Race (Maybe for some). The others are not even considered.

  32. MCA and MIC are souls living in dead bodies). They should leave right away.

Remember how they lined up with appeal memos to see the PM after the constitutional amendments (121(1)A, and after the ensuing body-snatching, baby snatching, and forced conversions? Remember how they received slaps to the face?

  33. Today’s MCA party is shameless….and thick skin.
Supposedly representing the Chinese…have nothing remotely close to the Chinese way of life that values dignity and principles in life….far more than anything else.
MCA is supporting corruptions since Ling Liong Sik took over.
Lets see how Soi Lek respond to Perkasa insults.
