It has been suggested on the twitter that it’s a bit too late to cancel the launching of the Malaysia-United States (Congressional) Caucus by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak next Wednesday April 14, 2010 and that perhaps Pakatan Rakyat can send some of its Members of Parliament for the event.
My twitter responses yesterday were:
• Not suggesting Najib put off trip 2US he can meet Obama but put off caucus launch programme which can only embarrass him n nation
• No not too late Sure American countrprts will appreciate not bng dragged into maelstrom Msian partisan politics JJ shld take note
• Question of saving nation/PM’s face or Nazri/JJ’s face Indeed a test of whether putting national interests above that of indvdls
• As gatecrashers?Better things 2do Question whr BN can see what is national interest @alphaque .. perhaps PR can send some of your own there.
If the Prime Minister launches the Malaysia-United States (Congressional) Caucus without Pakatan Rakyat Members of Parliament representation, he is telling the whole world that his 1Malaysia concept is utter bunkum
I hope Najib would not embarrass himself and the nation in Washington by adopting lock-stock-and-barrel the perverted illogic of the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz to “justify the unjustifiable” when trying to defend the exclusion of PR MPs in the Malaysia-US (Congressional) Caucus and the dispatch of two “independent” MPs to accompany the Prime Minister for the launch of the caucus or the Prime Minister and Malaysia would become the instant laughing stock in Washington cocktail circuit.
This is in fact an international test whether Najib is his own man as Prime Minister who dare to overrule his subordinates by putting national interests above party and individual interests, or whether he could be dragged by the nose by his coterie of advisers and spinmeisters which has spawned the “Umno Apco, Apco Umno” farce.
Pakatan Rakyat MPs would have fully co-operated with Najib to make the Malaysia-US (Congressional) Caucus a bipartisan success in helping to upgrade Malaysia-US relations.
Why did the Prime Minister spurn the PR MPs and place himself in the untenable position of discrediting his 1Malaysia concept and exposing himself to the serious charge that he is not acting as a Prime Minister for all Malaysians when he goes abroad?
It is now in the hands of Najib whether he is prepared to save himself and the country from an embarrassing international incident in his current trip to the United States by deferring the launching of the Malaysia-US (Congressional) Caucus to a later date when PR MPs could fully participate in it.
It is a major foreign affairs fiasco for the PM to launch the Malaysia-US (Congressional) Caucus without the participation of the Opposition who form 40% of Parliament.
So how much did we pay this time to get an invite to the White House?
President Obama is not stupid. If he sees that all parties are represented except Pakatan Rakyat, he knows something is wrong.
Jib will be leaving home without his trousers. And his curious american hosts would ask
“Err your trousers mr prime minister sir.” “Ah I left it behind. To accompany fat ros mama.”
::::najis, hisapputing and the umno hoodlums should be detained under ISA for treason of the highest degree.
The sold off the Malays under ketuanan, now they are selling the country under RM2 company. Pari@h of the worse kind. Sons of the soiled.
Those stupid s.o.b. spoke of the apco issue in terms of “israeli infiltration”. What pharking infiltration? Its invitation. The umno gobermen spread their legs apart willingly and allowed the israelis to enter. I bet they supplied the israelis with ky too.
Caucus: “a closed meeting of a group of persons belonging to the same political party or faction usually to select candidates or to decide on policy; also : a group of people united to promote an agreed-upon cause.”
If we follow the first definition, then this caucus is “closed” to outsiders (PR) as only the members of the particular party or faction (including friendly frogs, Ibrahim Ali but not Tee Beng) can participate to formulate biased, one-sided, self-interested policies.
If it is the second definition, then there is no unity as many members (of Parliament) across the spectrum have obviously been left out. It is not inclusive, not 1Malaysia, but exclusive, and Nazri decides the members, agenda, etc etc. There is no transparency or accountability as it stands, just some mumbo-jumbo from confused Nazri.
What actually does this caucus hope to achieve? What is its agenda? Is there really any benefit for us or will it turn out to be another excuse to spend money for junkets on a regular basis, like “melancong sambil belajar” that we are so good at?
PR should stay out and let this caucus fall flat in due course on the lack of good governance. Ask why the previous caucus failed over ten years ago and remained dormant thereafter. Don’t simply ask to be included. If you can’t contribute, don’t waste your time.
Stupidity of the worst kind. Laughable until can vomit blood. What kind of idiots and HP6 monkeys are they? My dog has better brain. It is so obvious that they are retarded beyond help, and therefore should resign and let more capable people to take over their job. I am sure PR can supply all the brains that they need. In fact LKT and Anwar would make a perfect team. Don’t even need the PM, what more to say, that two idiots and retarded son of …..
at the suggestion of APCO?
What is being done here is a continuation of tradition since Mahathir days of spending on political circles in Washington no matter if its utterly unrealistic to do so. Mahathir obviously is known for Jack Abramoff but those in the know there were many before him and after that did not yield anything substantial. They deem it worthwhile to spend anyway just in case with luck, something go their way domestically they can lever on.
The only thing that can go Najib way is simply oil prices. With higher oil revenue, not only does he have money to spend on the UMNO machineries but he also deflects a lot of concern from investors and domestically.
Failing which, all these are a waste of money and distraction from implementing an agenda that Najib seem already staked his career on and doomed to fail. His plans cannot work. Its a just a question whether he bought enough time for oil prices to go his way. AND he does not have a lot of time. It should fall apart within 12 months. If oil prices do not rise signficantly by then and he does not call election before, he is done for.
Is he really done for?
By implementing GST, he can get up to RM100 billion a year because even the unemployed would have to beg, borrow or steal money to pay for the hike in cost of necessities.
Hey, the world already knows 1Malaysia is utter bunkum.
Will Obama grace the caucus and play host to najib? Will he, really? Then I lose all respect for Obama-lah. Tell Obama that!
“1Malaysia” is full of sh..t!!
Where got UNITY in his mind.
Have real UNITY..Najib is finished and UMNO BARU is finished.
So on and on…this well trained tongue twisters will give their interpretations…how to UNITE…with sickening MCA…Gerakan..MIC..leaning like leeches.to survive under their task masters.
Yes the 3 BN biggest groups are the shame and disgrace to their own races….supporting divide to rule…..never UNITY..sincerely and totally….as the so call..”1Malaysia”.
Najib is the continuation of Mahathir’s evil intentions.
Mahathir is the devil reincarnated and UMNO BARU is corrupted to the core..all said before.
All Malaysians must never forget.
Do not fall into the traps of vipers and snakes!!
Ha ha ha. Our tak-bolehland PM and JJ (who is he?) are taking to the world stage. Taking big but lack the resource to achieve big things ‘cos most of our intellectual resources have emigrated. They talk of upward mobility when in actual fact the nation has been on the downhill slide for decades. It will need a drastic change of heart and will before things to arrest this trend. I lament.
Obama will behave diplomatically as he does in his meetings with other foreign heads of state/goverment. He’ll just shake hands, exchange pleasantries, and pose for photos with Najib, and then leave the ‘nitty gritty’ stuff to someone in his cabinet and his aides to handle…
