Finally, I want to end with a special reference to Sabah as ordinary Sabahans feel that they had been marginalised and left out of the national development and progress for since the formation of Malaysia some five decades ago.
If the Prime Minister is serious and sincere about inclusive growth, the Federal government should make Sabahans feel a full and equal part of 1Malaysia,and I recommend five priority areas for its immediate attention and action:
-
Satisfactory resolution to the long-standing problem of illegal immigrants in Sabah, causing the Sabah population to multiply from some 400,000 during the formation of Malaysia in 1963 to over three million today. During his visit to Sabah last September, the Prime Minister had promised resolution of the illegal immigrant problem and this seems to have been completely forgotten.
-
Eradication of poverty in Sabah. Barisan Nasional had promised to eradicate poverty in 2000 but it is now 2010 and Sabah has the highest poverty rate in the country.
-
Massive development of basic infrastructure in Sabah to provide roads, piped water, electricity and broadband to Sabahans.
-
Raising the 5% oil royalty payment to Sabah government to 20%.
-
Re-opening of the inquiry into the “66” air-crash in Kota Kinabalu on June 6, 1976 which killed Sabah Chief Minister Tun Fuad Stephens and State Ministers, Datuk Salleh Sulong, Datuk Peter Mojuntin and Chong Thien Vun to address the many questions and doubts of Sabahans about the true cause of the Double Six tragedy 34 years ago.
[Speech (3) of DAP Parliamentary Leader and MP for Ipoh Timor Lim Kit Siang in Parliament on the 2009 Supplementary Estimates on Tuesday, 6th April 2010]
Simply put, 1Malaysia is not for real!
It is mere sloganeering!
Seperti Belanda meminta tanah
“THEY ASKED FIRST for 5%,
and I didn’t speak up because they wanted only 5%
THEN THEY ASKED for 10%,
and I didn’t speak up because they wanted only 10%
THEN THEY ASKED for 30%,
and I didn’t speak up because they wanted only 30%
THEN THEY ASKED for 50%,
and I didn’t speak up because they wanted only 50%
THEN THEY ASKED for 99.9%,
and by that time I was not allowed speak up.”
Worst for Sabahans after they have UMNO and MCA
UMNO’s formula of keeping the peasants stupid & backwards is a logical one.
” Keep your peasants stupid lest they’ll revolt ” still rings true in this day & age.
Importing illegal peasants Indons is a strategy to ensure UMNO’s winning formula & another way to increase the proportion of earth prince into the general population. More imported peasants earth prince = more votes to UMNO.
These newly earth prince citizens, will be privileged with all the earth prince benefits while those of us who have been here for generations are not even treated as equal citizens, instead being told by UMNO parliamentarian to get out & go back to the land of our ancestors.
Duncha love how UMNO has screwed us all?
five issues highlighted here are of very significant importance. It is easier say than done.
No state is without problems. Kelantan is for example, after 20 years of PAS administration is still struggling with poverty.
Franky speaking,Sabahans have raised before and are still raising all these urgent questions either through our elected representatives or through direct discussion with all past and present prime minister and the result is still nothing. All Sabahans know is the central Umno/Bn regime keeps squeezing all our resources especially oil, keeps bringing in more illegals to manage the GLC plantations ,keeps ignoring local employable unemployed ,keeps on damaging our ego system, keeps on forgetting the “borneoisation agenda” and of course keeps on being mum regarding the “66 air-crash” in Kota Kinabalu. I think Sabahans are fed up with all these federal bull shxts.I think all Sabahan voters comes the 13th GE must vote in PR so that we will have a chance to change things in our favour.I think younger Sabahans are wondering how on earth our past political leaders had led Sabah into Malaysia and in less than 2 decades surrendered Sabah to the federal government in KL.And the most un-believeable thing is the present core of Sabah political leaders who are component of the ruling Umno/Bn,just do nothing to improve the suffering of all Sabahans. And to add salt to injury, they work hand in glove with the Federal authority to further supress Sabahan for reason only known to themselves. However I wish to ask anyone of you guys here or else where, can you name me a poor Umno/Bn politician in Sabah,Sarawak and in West malaysia ?
1. Toon Bak Kut Teh must apologise to Sabahans.
2. All the past and present CMs must return back the stolen money.
3. Sabah to declare independent and pull out of the federation.
And an example of one of the causes is the refusal by the Umno-BN controlled federal government to allow the PAS led state government in Kelantan to receive, control & distribute the vast amounts money from the state oil royalties to the Kelantanese folks who really need it.
1Malaysia remains an elusive dream so long as people like Muhyiddin and Koh Tsu Koon refuse to acknowledge that they are Malaysian first and their ethnicity second.
i have only one issue to care for Sabahans – to kick in the ass that Speaker from Sabah. After kicking him, throw him into the sewage pond, for that is where he belongs. How can Sabahans get any fair deals when successive leaders from that state are nothing more than spineless asses.
Sabahans must vote Pakatan Rakyat in GE13. Otherwise, they are doomed forever, as it is now they are quite doomed already.
Now that Sabahans ans Sarawakians have seen and know…change of government is real….after the 12th GE results…..those voters should not fall into traps of Najib or UMNO sweets and treats…to treat them… like little children and suckers.
Those folks must always remember..politicians are voted in..to serve us…..not rule over us……so the few so call goodies announced….are not gifts from UMNO…but should have been done decades ago….if those lazy crooks work sincerely for the people.
LKS is daily exposing what UMNO BARU and Najib is….and if LKS is a liar…or a cunning tongue twister….he will be voted out in 13th GE…but you can bet your last ringgit…LKS will have much more support from Malaysians… ever before…which brings us back to the voters…for or against….to end all sickening double standards…corruptions…or?…Malaysia…Gone with the Wind…to hell…won by the devils.
CHOOSE!!
East Malaysians must wake up to a new dawn and gear themselves for a change in life unless they want to continue in stagnation. The so call goodies are not from umno but in fact belonged to them which is rightly theirs but have been robbed off by umno. They are entitled to many more hundred times than what were given. The irony is that why give goodies when an election is imminent. Where is the sincerity? Sabahans and Sarawakians must exercise their rights for a change if they want to put an end to the victimization
Is NR serious about “inclusive growth” to Sabahans?
Sabah n Sarawak are still full of resources. What do you think he and the gangs have in mind?Heaps of golds to scoop up,got it?
“Inclusive of his cronies’s growth”i supposed.
The constitution on oil royalty must be change with immediate effect wherby it is up to Sabah to give “Wang Eshan” to KL, and the maximum amount must not exceed 5%.
The 95% can be used to develop the whole of Sabah, including Labuan.
A sad and disappointing Sabah affair
Though rich in natural resources there
It is deprived of its lion’s share
Due to leakages & for development elsewhere
Leaving it to have a slower progress to bear
Can NR prove he is serious about Sabah’s welfare?
Wake up Sabahans, do not despair
A future better alternative govt is here
Vote in PR to get out of the political quagmire
