Unfortunately, we do not have efficient, independent and professional national institutions whether the Attorney-General’s Chambers, the Police, the Judiciary or the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to fairly and fearlessly uphold what is right and true as they all have bent themselves to serve the political dictates of their political masters although they vary from the national interests.
Malaysians are entitled to ask why the Home Ministry is completely insensitive, unconcerned and indifferent about the long-standing exploitation of the “race and religious” cards by Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian making a mockery of Najib’s 1Malaysia, while trigger-happy like the latest case concerning the China Press – for wrongly reporting that the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan has resigned when his termination would be effective and final in September!
Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has denied that the China Press editor is being pressured to resign or face three to six-month suspension of the newspaper – saying that only a show-cause letter had been issued.
Let Hishammuddin answer in Parliament – what is the big deal about the China Press report? It had made a mistake and a correction had been made.
In mature democracies and developed countries, the media had reported about presidents and prime ministers resigning, and if they are proven wrong, correrctions are adequate although the credibility of the media concerned takes a beating.
Why should the Home Minister be breathing down the neck of the media in such a case – unless case can be made out that the report had gravely jeopardised public order or national security?
It would be the height of ridicule for Hishammuddin to attempt any such justification.
These deviations from and challenges of the 1Malaysia concept should come under the scrutiny and ambit of a Parliamentary Select Committee on 1Malaysia Government Transformation Programme Roadmap if the Cabinet and Parliament are serious about this national objective.
Let me give notice that I will move a motion to amend the Motion of Thanks to add the words – “and to set up a Parliamentary Select Committee on 1Malaysia Government Transformation Programme Roadmap headed by an Opposition Member of Parliament”.
The 1Malaysia Parliamentary Select Committee will not only monitor the implementation of the “1Malaysia, People First and Performance Now” principles, but also the seven clusters of issues and initiatives relating to unity, viz:
-
The economy and national unity under 1Malaysia.
-
Education and national unity under 1Malaysia.
-
Promoting 1Malaysia social interactions.
-
Managing religious and cultural polarities.
-
Promoting and practicing all-inclusive 1Malaysia politics.
-
Towards a truly 1Malaysia government.
-
Promoting an all-inclusive 1Malaysia media.
The 1Malaysia Parliamentary Select Committee will also monitor the achievements of the six National Key Result Areas or NKRAs: viz, reducing crime, combating corruption, widening the access to quality and affordable education, improving public transport, expanding rural infrastructure and raising the standard of living of low income group.

///Why should the Home Minister be breathing down the neck of the media in such a case…/// (Kit)
The reason is simple. Hishammuddin is a little known minister. By breathing down the neck of China Press, he hoped to “stir big waves” to draw people’s attention to himself. In effect, Hishammuddin was performing a cheap publicity stunt to gain popularity.
HM should apologise and then step down, and let a more qualified person take over, preferably from MCA or MIC.
Thats is exactly why these people should not be our minister in the first place….ARROGANT and yet BIAS
This is one of the change , most people like to see and yet bblaber mouth tends to have a small and forgetfool brain.
hope his kids be inherited with such deficiency , since we cannot have any other hopes…and at least we not need worry, at things going the dynastic dreams stopped here…what a relief for this line of fools
The prime objective of current regime is not governing the nation, their main task is to weaken/collapsed the opposition (PR is this case), and stay in power. Whether their doing benefitted the nation, that has not been the criteria.
Most MPs of BN are not in parliament to debate for nation interest, they probably have no interest to go in the first place. Even they did, is where they make fun, make fool out of it, if not for the sake of attendance and take some naps!. Ask bung moktar and pasir salak.
The BN especially UMNO’s MP having too much of politic, even the minister has problem balancing the roles as government and as Umno politician. It is strange to expect Umno’s interest in opposite direction of nation interest, but this is the fact of the day.
Something even more strange is BN has no sinking ship mentality! Probably they has never picture BN as one ship, you sink, I sink, you jump, I jump!. The country is sliding fast (like a sinking ship) but they still killing their own brothers!. This mentality is more evident in MCA, if the ship is sinking, who cares to be the captain! Why fight to save the ship. NO! they don’t picture this is a ship. They picture this is a castle (as steel welded castle that would not collapse and kill anyone) and plenty of treasure locked inside, you be the captain you access to the treasure!. That probably the BN mentality of the day and that is detrimental to a nation.
All are in the same boat….corrupted to the core and will keep twisting and turning to save themselves.
They are afraid of the 13th GE.
These are guilty rouges and thieves…using all the time left to fool Malaysians at their best.
Even Chengho is speechless…very afraid……hahahahahhahaha
Kit,
you should become the CO replacing Anwar.
God has already chosen Anwar to save the world from destruction.
chengho: “Kit, you should become the CO replacing Anwar.”
Obviously Umno-BN is fearful of Anwar leading the opposition in the Parliament.
They are still trying ‘Sodomy 2’, but for how long can the rakyat be expected to believe this ‘penetrationless’ sodomy charge?
So, enter Zahrain, that renegade turncoat MP, with his scathing anti-Anwar attacks, in return for his ‘fruitful’ Washington DC trip (and what more other goodies?), courtesy of the Umno-BN controlled federal government.
Will Zahrain gather enough courage to see whether his constituents will vote for him again as an independent candidate after seeing his true colours?
