Why is Hishammuddin breathing down the neck of the media threatening “all hell to break loose” when all that is needed is a correction for any incorrect report about resignation of Musa Hassan as IGP?

The Home Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein is breathing fire and brimstone, threatening “all hell to break loose”, demanding an explanation from China Press for its report that the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan had tendered his resignation letter.

Warning China Press not to publish reports which are not true, Hishammuddin said he had instructed the Home Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Mahmood Adam to ask the newspaper editor to explain the report.

Why is Hishammuddin breathing down the neck of the media threatening “all hell to break loose” when all that is needed in the relevant case is a correction for any incorrect report about the resignation of Musa Hassan as IGP?

Is the stability and strength of security in the country and in particular the Malaysian police force so brittle and fragile that a report like that of China Press today could seriously compromised or jeopardized them?

In fact, Hishammuddin should know that if the China Press report is true that Musa has resigned as Inspector-General of Police, there would be joy and jubilation not only among loyal and patriotic Malaysians who have always put national interests above self, but also among top police officers as well as the rank-and-file.

This is why –

  • On 28th July, 2009 I spearheaded a parliamentary roundtable reaching an unanimous conclusion that Malaysia needs a new IGP to create a safe Malaysia and break away from colonial past by introducing democratic policing to protect the people and not the regime in power;

  • On 1st August, 2009 I said in my speech in Kuantan that Musa was wreaking personal vengeance against me and other Pakatan Rakyat leaders for the parliamentary roundtable calling for a new IGP to create a safe Malaysia;

  • On August 7, 2009 I issued a media statement that “Take a secret poll among the 2,000 top police officers from ASP upwards and an overwhelming majority will definitely vote for a new IGP”; and

  • On August 8, 2009 I said in my media statement that “Police, Home Minister and Prime Minister will not be able to hold their heads high in international community if Musa is renewed as IGP when under his three-year leadership, only 1% of the people feel safe”;

Can Hishammuddin explain his double standards which makes him so blind and actionless with regard to the inflammatory and seditious spoutings by certain media, particularly those owned and controlled by Umno, totally reckless and irresponsible in exploiting the “race and religion” card in utter disregard and contempt for Najib’s 1Malaysia concept and yet his instant and ferocious reaction to a report like that of the resignation of the Inspector-General of Police – which would be very commonplace in developed countries which Malaysia aspires to become?

  1. I think Najib has to use Musa as a crutch – so it’s like u support me, i support u. U let go of me, i let go of u, both will jatuh longkang, see!

Why else, first time in history, almost 60-yr old Musa still can get renewed contract to be IGP. Malaysia so poor and lacking in talent -lah.

  2. Huh? Big deal meh? Long? Long lah. Paper got long info only wat. Never bluf people orso. Info long only mah. But umno got bluff people one. Umno minister say dont know wot wot report say hoh no recommend local what council erection. Dat one not long info ah. Dat one bluff people ah you know or not? Dat wat wat report say opposite one ah. Orso never say no good local erection. Local erection good ah the report say. Umno minister purposely say opposite one. Lying one. Cheating people. Ke si ah. Go and die ah.

  3. There is a “big story” behind Musa Hassan’s resignation. I have already read that “big story” not so long ago in RPK’s blog.

Hishammuddin is worried that should Musa Hassan’s resignation come true, it will confirm what RPK has written.

Hishammuddin should aim to protect the rakyat and not government officials who have committed wrong deed.

  4. Y? Y? Bcos China Press is not Utusan M mah
D latter can publish anything but not d former
Also, how can MH retire? So many cases not settled yet, including AI’s sodomy 2
Service still in demand, extend, extend loh

  5. The way UMNO twitches is simply incredible…they have this twitching disease every time the pendatangs utter something that connects with their nerve endings. Words like “model”, “affair” will make Putrajaya twitch. If you mistakenly report that the AG or the IGP or the CJ resigns, they will twitch too, because something could have happened to UMNO’s insurance policy.

Chengho, are you twitching now ?

  6. Why should Kerismuddin get so upset with the wrong reporting that IGP had resigned? IGP is not the head of government, and there could not be a run on the bank or an exodus of investers from Malaysia if IGP had in fact resigned. What then cause Kerismuddin to be overly concerned?

By the reaction of Kerismuddin, it would apper that the stability of the government depended on the continued service of the incumbent IGP. It would sound like if the IGP is out, the concern was not that there could be no replacement for him. The issue would be that person and he alone is needed to be the IGP. Do we miss something that only Kerismuddin is privy to know. But as usual his over reaction always let the cat out of the bag.

Everybody appointed to any service is free to resign, though it might not be so to remain. A rumour that the IGP had resigned might have arisen from his own utterance which gave rise to that interpretation. There would not be a change in the morale of the Police on that rumour. Some people in line might be excited for possible upward movement. Is Kerismuddin that cruel to deprive others for wishful thinking in his reaction?

Kerismuddin was just trying to get in the news not be outshined by Mooyudin.

  7. In this country the Malays are the tuan. So the Malay papers can mock the non-Malays. The Malays can mock the Indians with a cow-head. And Hishammudin will say well done.
But hell will break loose even if a non-Malay mentions an innocuous statement about the Malays.
See how they bully The Star and Gunasegaram and the China Press.
    This is Malay arrogance.
Just say sorry and move on. What’s the big deal.

  8. it’s OK not many people read the national news published by Malaysian press anyway.
Those who buy them read only the International and sports section only.So what is wrong with China Press publishing that IGP is resigning?Anyway it’s about time this IGP leave. He has overstayed his welcome from Malaysian.

  9. “Why is Hishammuddin breathing down the neck of the media threatening “all hell to break loose” when all that is needed is a correction for any incorrect report about resignation of Musa Hassan as IGP?”

Elementary… simply because he has forgotten that he is merely a wakil rakyat. He thinks he is a monarch! Let’s make him a eunuch in the next general election… this brainless scumbag.

  10. chengho: “China press is lucky DH known as warning minister ; let’s see this time whether he is NATO, no body can twisted fact from imagination like PR.”

The Home Minister refuses to warn Umno owned & controlled media for distorting facts about Pakatan Rakyat for political propaganda, but is quick to warn non-Umno owned & controlled media for a mistake in reporting the resignation of one civil servant… Yes, he is the ‘warning minister’ who only warns when it is to his party’s political advantage…

  11. As usual these bloody idiots always practise double standards and speak with forked tongues. The arrogant ketuanan champion once again displays his bullying and intimidating tactics against papers like the Star,China Press,Sin Chew and the like but they always keep their blind eyes on garbage papers such as Utusan,Berita Harian and NST.

  12. What man, got IGP, no IGP, what the difference?

Got IGP, crime rate also so high.

Maybe no IGP, crime rate less. Criminals then don’t have to prove to IGP Musa that he is stupid and don’t know how to catch criminals.

  13. Even the AG said if it’s due to a person’s ignorance,he would not press for charges. The HM should like wise give some benefit of doubt to the editor of China press and show some humane restrain. What kind of HM is he,total restrain for Utasan’s racial rubbish and not for China Press just pointing out that the IGP has resigned. What’s the fuss about it ?

  14. //IGP has resigned// China Press

This is what the rakyat has been hoping to hear. Although it is a false alarm but it is therapeutic.

It is only a matter of timing. The IGP will have to go sooner or later.

  15. this toad face is a disgrace to the country and his family. what? is he going to do the “soak the keris with chinese blood” dance tune again?

he is acting like a spoilt brat monkey. so what if the p1g resigned? The whole country will celebrate if this is really so. Even better if this toad face resign together. we’ll have a double celebration then.

if you can’t be an effective minister, at least act like one. now you are doing all monkey act. i find it painfully humorous.

  16. let wait for more drama.. my wish is that the IGP will start a revenge and show all the detail about all….. How about Mongolia?

I belief IGP has a lot of “Insurance” up his sleeve.. will see and I love to watch Drama!

    Regards
    Shiok Guy

  17. Ppl hv forgotten dat this IGP is a monstrously powerful I Get-u-all Polisman
He has worked hand in glove with d current AG
They know all d dark unmentionable secrets of all VVIPs, including MMK, NR, RM, MY, HH
He is a red hot sizzling potato 4 UmnoB 2 handle, 2 retain or 2 let go, tough decision
Who knows what kinds of blackmail hv been happening behind d scenes
Looks like a final solution is needed; let’s wait 4 ‘next change’
Perhaps d sudden departure of IGP MH, ala TBH’s style, kek kek kek

  18. In this sort of case, I firmly believe that there is some big “drama” that is ongoing among those big shots.
Somebody is being forced to resign and somebody is “squeezing” someone’s ball tight in retailation.
That’s why the HM is so furious, all because somebody higher “kicked” his butt.

  19. HP6 HM thinks he can simply bully at his whims and fancy. I dare him to close down China Press, and watch how voters react. If I am the PM, I will sack him, because he is a liablility to BN. Voters just cannot wait for the day to send him to hell.

  20. Not easy to “rid” the present one because he’s not only after money.
Without him, those “malaysian mafia” could no longer rule.
And what would happened, if you were to put a “taikoh” to be in charge of the country’s police force?
    That would be disastrous, man!!!

  21. That Hishammuddin is welknown with a big mouth putting out actions and comments…that are worthless.
This good or nothing Minister loves to cash in useless low class political advantages…whenever he can.
There is nothing he speaks or do…impresses Malaysians.

  22. That bloody UMNO BARU and IGP have so many questions asked by Malaysians…not one being answered…and now….this idiotic Minister want China Press to answer.or “all hell will break loose”??
Want to poke fire…talking …kok…like chengho?

  23. On a different issue: LKS has a blog for years, but never hosted a hi-tea 4 his readers
NR sooo smart, started a blog not long ago, n treated his readers 2 a hi-tea yesterday
    Wonder if NR actually paid 4 d hi-tea himself or d taxpayers paid 4 d hi-tea
Ou wah, ppl sooo happy 2 meet NR n RM
Wonder who from LKS blog went 4 d free makan yesterday? Share experience lah
LKS, don’t b sooo kedekut mah, give treat lah
1 participant there suggested other leaders also organise a similar programme to bring them closer to the people
Ya loh, come closer n hug hug lah

  24. this particular stooge finally came out blabber his big mouth and saliva.

looks like the other guy has something in his sleeves …and is preventing new gang to take over gracefully…..

meanwhile …u can see the very motivated ones making traffic jams in the early hours every working day on pretext of others are creating the jams ….in the very City of KL ….and blackmailing drivers after being forced tolled and toiled with higher fuel costs.

All this, and you still have to worry your kid wont be kidnapped, and you being robbed or even life threatened.
And here our friend thinks it is a more of a publicity matter and wasting people’s money with statistics and publicity stunts to clean up their name and hide the real problem.

  25. If YB Lim were to host a hi-tea treat, he is bound to be investigated by the macc for misusing the funds meant for his constituency. MCA, Gerakan and Parti Cinta will howl for his arrest so that a by-election can be held in Ipoh Timur, and umno will set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry in his “corrupt” hi-tea.

  26. RPK also said that Musa was on the way out but given Najib’s recent setbacks mean the PM need a real animal to do his bidding if he gets into more trouble.

What is clear is Najib is in trouble if he is willing to keep those in trouble around…

  27. Never in Malaysia history has ever has so an indispensable IGP not for the good side but the evil side. This indispensable cancer has too much sit inside and outside. Inside was the sins that he has and outside was that he also the person who know most of the sit the leaders of todays. This made him indispensable of today. But like it or not the time is approaching and the time is too short to negotiate a workable plan for his exist so that the sit relationship can remain cover for the good of both parties.

This explain why we have so much problem with this Malaysian cancer.

  28. SENGLANG :
Never in Malaysia history has ever has so an indispensable IGP not for the good side but the evil side.

It is ‘heartening’ to note that Malaysia has so many indispensable civil service servants. Even the Constitution has to be amended to extend the ‘services’ (to be read as “disservice” due to the single quotation marks) of the Chairman of the Election Commission, LOL.

But it is heartening to note that UMNO cannot find a replacement for these people easily. It simply means that there is still hope for Malaysia!

  29. “all hell to break loose” huh.

Wow strong words there. Perhaps inappropriately strong for an issue concerning the resignation of the most ineffective and therefore unpopular IGP in our history. Maybe he has no soft words in his dictionary. And maybe china press should count their lucky stars for he has chosen words over actions. You see. He keeps a keris under his belt. And he has little hesitation in unsheathing it, in which case even heaven would suffer his wrath. His trust of the keris skywards is relentless and fearsome.

  30. Ha, ha…ha. Now it proves yet again the stupid clown that Kerismuddin is with this latest flip-flop.

Yet again, it is proven that honesty is the best policy. When was it ever given to elected servants (please, not Lords!) of the public that they have the right to dissemble, disguise or dishonestly lie to the public? When, Hishammudin, when?

  31. “all hell to break loose” huh. Why in the first place the HM has to say this threatening statement ? Now that he has confirmed that MH’s contract would not be re-newed comes september 2010. I think China Press was correct of its report axcept the accuracy of the date of termination . In principle the editor was correct to say MH would leave the police force. I think the HM was pretty prickly and lacking diplomacy in his initial reaction to ward the china press’s report. It showed the HM’s immaturity. If it’s in the United States,Secreatary Clinston would have said that it’s true but he would only leave at the end of his contract/term. I think as HM,Kerismuddin should have showned some good example by restraining his keris waving anger. Let us all hope from now onwards he would not simply unsheathed his keris at the spur of the moment.

  32. Now that what was reported by China Press has been proven correct by the same person who accused China Press of making the report, China press should be commended rather than be made to answer unnecessary question. Does Kerismuddin think that Chinese newspapers are government gazette? China Press might be printing rumours. But if that does not undermine national security what reason has the Home Ministry to ask for explanation. Ya, the HM controls the printing license of the Press, and he can choose to bully. Why is the HM silent over the seditious report made by Utusan Melayu. Is that the special right that perkasa is yelling all the time?

  33. The sooner the IGP is relieved of his duties, the better it is for the police force.

More than 90% of police personnel (officers and men) do not like the current IGP and they were so thrilled to hear the news that he will be resigning early.

The IGP has victimised many officers and men in the Force. The moral is down and that is why the current state of crime is becoming from bad to worse.

This IGP in these last few years has caused more damage to the police force compared to the years of all the previous IGPs’ put together.

I don’t understand why the G’ment has extended his service. He is more of a liability to the image and perception of the people towards the Force.

Enough is enough. Just get rid of him.

  34. In the first place, the news was very pleasing to the ears of the whole nation. Everyone is happy to hear that, even if it is a rumor, or a wrong reporting. No one protest, no one appeal for the “P.I.G.” not to go, no one cry, nobody wants him to stay on, and everyone rejoice to hear the news. The HM is dumb for not realising that people take it as a good news and will celebrate instead of feeling sad about the situation. They feel thankful for the news report, even if it is a false report, because they want him to go.
