As Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin should stop playing “Jekyll and Hyde” on Malaysian nation-building and in particular with Prime Minister’s Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s 1Malaysia concept.
Yesterday, Muhyiddin played Dr. Jekyll by talking like a Malaysian statesman, telling the National Level and International Invitation of Student Leaders’ Unity and Integration Gathering at Persada Johore by reminding Malaysians that the country’s biggest challenge would always be in maintaining unity and racial harmony among its people from various ethnic backgrounds.
He added: “It is the same foundation on which the 1Malaysia concept was based on which Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak implemented it to establish Malaysia as a united country, where its people readily accepted and respected one another and shared success and prosperity.”
But the for the past week, Muhyiddin was playing Mr. Hyde, launching a vitriolic attack on Pakatan Rakyat by remorselessly and relentlessly spearheading an Umno campaign to crank up communal sentiments starting with his repeated charge that Parliamentary Opposition Leader and PKR chief, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is “a traitor to the Malay race” (with Umno divisions mobilizing all over the country to support Muhyiddin in calling Anwar a Malay “traitor”), as well as other baseless and mischievous allegations that PAS has betrayed Islam by working with DAP and that DAP had insulted Islam by working with PAS!
In the past, the path traversed by Umno leaders is to be a Mr. Hyde to first become a communal hero of the Malays and when comfortably ensconced at the Olympian heights of Umno leadership, to play the role of Dr. Jekyll to reach out to all Malaysians to become a Malaysian leader and statesman.
Muhyiddin should be well-advised that there is no way he could play Jekyll and Hyde one at the same time, as this is the fastest way to his losing all credibility among Malaysians as well as bringing untold harm to Malaysian national unity and nation-building.
I advise Muhyiddin to abandon such Jekyll-and-Hyde tactics. As Deputy Prime Minister, he should be the very epitome of the 1Malaysia concept proclaimed by Najib on becoming the sixth Malaysian Prime Minister five months ago, and not as its very nemesis.
The timing for Muhyiddin to abandon the Jekyll-and-Hyde role cannot be more critical as Malaysia is celebrating our 52nd National Day in less than a fortnight.
Already, the A (N1H1) flu pandemic is going to be a greater dampener on Najib’s first National Day celebrations. Let our 52nd National Day not be clouded by another greater dampener – Muhyiddin’s Jekyll-and-Hyde role in Malaysian government and politics.
Najib will not be serious about a 1Malaysia concept if it is not the overarching theme of the National Day celebrations on August 31, but there is no way Najib’s signature theme of 1Malaysia can be taken seriously by Malaysians unless Muhyiddin abandons immediately his Jekyll-and-Hyde antics.
At the Cabinet meeting tomorrow, will there be any Minister from Umno, MCA, Gerakan, MIC, SUPP or any other BN component party who would dare to speak up to ask Muhyiddin to end his Jekyll-and-Hyde role and call a halt to the irresponsible exploitation of the race and religious card by Umno leaders and Umno-controlled media which have greatly undermined national and international confidence in the past few weeks?
Playing Jekyll and Hyde? He’s actually playing Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, or more accurately Moo Hee Deen and Moo Hee Dumb.
Whoa, good people, in this DPM’s mind he does see Umno has changed for the better in relation to his own highly-charged ambition. How can we deny him his outstanding blurred and bigoted vision?
1. As No.2 in the party’s pecking order, he sees himself much better positioned than ever before in preparation for judgment day.
2. In public speaking, he has found his voice to better articulate the word “traitor”. It pleases him no end if it’s directed at recalcitrants like Anwar. It will help the Umno cause (his version) tremendously.
3. He has done a good job by cutting down the vote difference in the Manek Urai by-election. So he thinks.
4. Umno will be see better days because of his ‘positive attitude’ in helping to lead Umno side by side with Najib. He’s confident that Permatang Pasir will be his crowning glory although Zahid Hamidi is running the show there.
5. He has played the race card like a true pro and patting himself for causing disorder in the opposition camp. It’s being whispered that he’s co-ordinating the way the Umno media runs it stories.
6. Of course, with him as chief instigator, Umno and its minions will see ‘change for the better’ whereby they can enjoy the fruits of their success all by themselves while the rest can settle for crumbs or maybe take a slow boat to where they come from.
7. If he were to lead, the country will become a ‘paradise’ not only for Umno tradionalists but also for racists, bigots, miscreants, fascists and some layabouts.
P/s: The Muihyideen syndrome seems to be getting the attention of more and more people who are NOT sleeping. Is Najib sleeping?
Epitome?
Sorry, when dealing with Muhiyiddin, such words are going to fly by most of the audience you are trying to reach.
Muhiyiddin is intelligent and with skills – his problem is he is an ignoramus. Essentially poorly read and knowledge is outdated.
Listen to his response today about his wrongful use of Nuri helicopters – he is not afraid and opposition should go fly kite. This is someone who will jump into the dirtiest pit and fight it out with you – after he throws you into the pit first. He is stubborn, set in his ways and beliefs.
The only way to beat this guy is to either take him on directly with greater force and determination OR you outsmart him by using knowledge he does not have and incapable of learning. No way PR can take him on mano-a-mano, so the trick is to take him on many to one. And it lies in his views on the most sensitive subject – women in particular – this is a traditionalist and his view of women is bound to be tradition – push that button and it will pissed off half the population. Ask him what he think of men raping their wives, or women right to equal pay or first women to be DPM/PM..
Then there is free speech or free market. This is one that cannot take too much in disorder – cannot comprehend dynamic change/chaos. He is all for ISA and sedition law being used liberally..
Also on talent migrating overseas – his view is bound to be good riddance to the non-bumis and bumis being traitors.
Look for the most important liberal and intellectual issues and this guy have no real clear thinking on the matter.
Oh.. One more thing – ask him about foreign affairs – Burma, Iran election, global warming – Singapore, China, etc and it will expose his weakness relatively quickly…
Muhyiddin must learn to be patient. There is no short cut to premiership. Having forced Pak Lah off his seat lately, he should not rush to force Najib off his seat as well.
Najib already fulfilled that so-called RAHMAN prophecy.
Can Muhyiddin fulfill another so-called prophecy MAHATHIR?
Will A in MAHATHIR be Anwar Ibrahim?
Will H in MAHATHIR be Hadi or Hishamuddin?
To become DPM, Muhyiddin betrayed Abdullah Badawi. Now, Muhyiddin is trying his best to gain support from the ultra Malays by inciting hatred towards other races by calling Anwar Ibrahim a traitor to the Malays.
Muhyiddin could be worse than Najib & Abdullah combined. Muhyiddin is sabotaging Najib’s 1Malaysia by playing Mr Hyde so that he could kick out Najib from the PM’s chair as soon as possible.

Unity and racial harmony was a given when Malaysia attained independence in 1957. Tunku said that he was the happiest prime minister in the world because the people had no problems about accepting one another as equal citizens. The quota system was accepted as a means to help the people who worked hard to attain self sufficiency, out of pride.
UMNO leaders in 1969 organised the worst racial conflicts in the country history, a tragedy for the nation but a golden opportunity for opportunists to enrich themselves and to remain in power for decades. It is in the same pretext of maintaining unity and racial harmony that they created NEP which was commendable in the objectives on paper but it was the root cause of why this land joins the rank of Zambabwe.
It was UMNO politicians who implemented policies in deviation of the raison d’etres of Article 153 and NEP. The ways they implement them were against the teaching of Islam which abhors discrimination based on race. But UMNO opportunists such as the Kerisman, and the Son-in-Law who engineered the loss of his father-in-law’s throne declared that the Malays who were the direct beneficiaries of government actions had no cause to apologize. To them robbing is accepted if the law is blind. UMNO politicians have moulded the mindset of their followers that they as earlier migrants are entitled to unfair advantages, even at the expense of Orang Asli. The frequent street demonstrations organised by UMNO politicians, with approval of the police indicate that they were not interested in maintaining racial harmony and unity. They did not want unity because they consider non-Malays are not entitled to be equal citizens.
The challenge in maintaining harmony was created by UMNO leaders who spread belligerent mindset among its members as though non-UMNO members threatened the continued existence of Malays. It was only human for non-Malays to feel aggrieved and to harbour hatred against UMNO leaders. They are not spoiling for a fight, but a flight. Two millions have left Malaysian shores since 1969. They were right if they had said that they were waiting to see how this land rots. It rots in comparison to developed society such as Singapore where the citizens do not have to organise guards and gates to improve security around their neighbourhood. Malaysian Police have failed in their duties to provide the minimum security taken for granted in any other modern countries where the government has some self respect.
The moment UMNO stops its racial provocations, assuming it can reverse the mindset of its followers, harmony is assured. The challenge to UMNO is can they do it, or are they even willing to do it.
Muhyiddin did not act as a statesman uttering those words. He wanted to blame others without saying it explicitly.
Aiyoh-yoh, what do you expect from a retarded cow-brain?
Muhyiddin have a big mouth with small brain.
What have he achieved as a Minister in the past?…..NOTHING….yet voted to be DPM.
His low IQ is well known…yet supposedly….to be our future PM…God help us all.
Just watch out all his speeches.
Dr. Jekyll / Mr. Hyde….Two Face ….Double Headed Snake…..greatest hypocrite ….you name it..he is it.
Why are we so surprised?
So are so many UMNO ministers…all the same.
Crime rates rocketed sky high….economy is bad…flu pandamic….all so important to talk and let Malaysians know….what are the plans to reduce all these?….NOTHING!!
Talk alot…no results….because ..never dare to change for the better..for changing means UMNO looses more voters…when heads roll.
Live with it…tolorate and act like a true Malaysian with responsibilities to the country and people…in 13th GE.
So let us talk and act…with one objective…..oneness and do not allow UMNO to fool us anymore.
They do not own the country.
Malaysians do…and not by race separations…identifications and religious qualification….encouraged by UMNO. All these are simply low class out dated politics…far far too long…coined by UMNO…played by UMNO…encouraged by UMNO.
They use the majority Malay race to keep separating others.
A clear huge population of Malays hates UMNO.
UMNO do not have 100% Malay support.
Maybe 52%…which means in Parliament…..far far away …from the required two third majority.
UMNO is not democratic nor dare to speech truths.
It is always low class politics.
Even uneducated kampong folks have voted against UMNO….as seen by all by-elections.
They can never see truths nor change…and Muhyddin needs to push race and religion politics further…for his own survival.
Check out UMNO’s sincerity.
UMNO is a racialist party….acting like not so.
Do not be fooled by them.
So are MCA and MIC…to carry balLs of UMNO….to unite as one ..acting and playing with Malaysians under the so call Barisan National.
It is divide to rule and race distinctions….preferences and corruptions…..by a bunch of greedy devil followers and believers…we call..hypocrites.
Moreyoudin accused dsai as a traitor to the Malays.
What about him ? He betrayed Tun Abdullah. How should we call him ?
We must bring the battle to Pagoh to let the residents there know the true colour of this DPM.
How can Malaysia be prosperous when we have such people in power ?
Look at Singapore. Their leaders never say anything to hurt any race and always ask the people to be tolerant and respectful of one another. No wonder Singapore is progressing and their currency is now 2.4 times RM.
Under Umno-BN governance,
In 1965, when Singapore separated from Malaysia,
1S$ = 1 RM.
In 1986, 1S$ = 1.1 RM
In 1997, 1 S$ = 1.6 RM
Now, 2009, 1 S$ = 2.4 RM
What will be exchange rate in 2019 ?
No price for guessing it right !
2010 …. S$ 1 = RM 3
2020 …. S$ 1 = RM 30
Like the useless subject in school call moral studies. My kids could answer those moral questions properly and correctly without much trouble. That is what muhideen is doing.
A picture says a thousand words. This event took place outside pwtc the Monday after muhyiddin accused Anwar as a traitor.

I actually have not meet anyone that buys the 1Malaysia concept. Seriously.
