Ex-Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir remarked that Pakatan Rakyat cannot attract Barisan Nasional MPs to join its party with money because they are rich and would not be influenced by bribes.
He is right on the mark as PR is not a party grouping with rich and wealthy leaders and therefore do not have the resources to resort to bribery.
Pakatan Rakyat is attractive because it has an ideology which is a winning formula to bring about reforms and changes for a better Malaysia.
There are many Barisan leaders who are disenchanted with Umno because of its corruption, cronyism and racial policies. These dissatisfied leaders are welcome to join Pakatan Rakyat on their own volition, if they accept PR’s policies of democracy, justice, freedom of religion , rule of law and transparency.
The inability of Umno to accept the message for CHANGE of March 8th and turmoil and the wrangling within Umno are other factors influencing Barisan MPs to change sides and join PR.
The failure to deliver the promises made to the people of Sabah and Sarawak was another reason to prompt the Barisan MPs to join PR.
The question of bribery with money was never a consideration.
I agree with Uncle Lim… PR is a fighter for noble values, and the rakyat at large need this to execute reforms at highest level, we will support such causes for noble values for country, for rakyat and our future generation…. i think people understood and accepted this…

Well said, Uncle Lim. TDM, with his cronies who had fleeced the rakyat of billions, has the cheek and arrogance to taunt AI that Barisan National MPs are rich. I wonder where their riches came from.
UMNO and Mahathir could not think of any other way BN MPs could be moved except with money.
How true. To them only money talks. Nothing else.
That is not such a bad thing, actually.
Because it does make them rather simple to handle, doesnt it?
Money only whaat. Wot is the big deal?
“Ex-Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir remarked that Pakatan Rakyat cannot attract Barisan Nasional MPs to join its party with money because they are rich and would not be influenced by bribes.”
——————————————————————-
Then Abdullah should stop criticizing that it is immoral for Anwar to persuade BN MPs to jump ship since the question of bribery does not exist (as TDM has admitted).
On the outlook PR has good principles and intentions. The question of money politics may not arise now. What happens when PR are in power? The ruling body does not comprise one or a small group of persons.
Money politics will eventually creep in, but the main concern will be the degree and level of corruption and abuse of power. If such abuses of power is infinitesimal, then the rakyat can tolerate.
The critical control is check and balances. Can PR ensure this when they are in power?

PR has never mention about buying MP with money, how come this old man can come to the money issue, was the old man used such dirty method during his time, …God knows!
When LKY was the PM of Singapore, he came down hard on his own’s party MPs who were found guilty of corruption. Even his own ministers were not spared. Heard of Teh Cheang Wan? The Minister of Housing and Development? Phey Yew Kok, the MP who runs the Trade Unions? Why TDM, and now his successor ABB are not doing anything much to stamp out money politics or corruption? Can somebody enlighten?
Day by day…..Mahathir is talking nonsense….with the cunningness…still clearly there.
Not one thing he said…is not dressed up to divert attentions away from him and his corrupted deeds.
I guess…he feels very safe..under UMNO now.
But he will migrate …when Anwar is PM….so he said.
He really have no shame and skin as thick as an onion.
money politic caused the downfall of many ruling governments. Soon it will be BeEnd.
Yes …. YB Kit, we are looking forward for the BeEnd Titanic which is still thinking that they are going to hit the tip of the iceberg. Still partying and showing off. Captain and officers still arrogant.
Hopefully this Titanic will sink fast. It’s days numbered.
TDM is still thinking that Rakyat has got low mentality unlike his +1000 IQ. but 0 EQ. Malaysian has been given a chance to grow up
and learned of the masquerades by UMNO under pretext of Ketuanan Melayu.
Moving 4 places is no Big Deal YB, soon Rakyat will send BeEnd to the Opposite side of the August House.

TDM and AAB are not doing anything much because they themselves are also guilty of wrong doings. Should they expose their subordinates of corruption, the latter will not hesitate to expose their masters. LKY knew he himself was “clean” and was not afraid to be challenged by his subordinates.
A thank you message

Mahathir is blur-blur now. By saying that PR has no money to entice MPs to cross over, he is indirectly saying that in his time, all his ministers were given a free hand to get rich (read – corrupt) just so they support him …. or else. He’s the biggest Tutup Satu Mata devil that we know of. All of us must be very very unlucky to get him as the PM. Kinda 22 years bad luck.
I agree wholeheartedly that its because of PR’s philosophy and not money, but the important issue here is for PR to keep up that philosophy,we all did our job tirelessly and my friends ,my family members and I have spent a lot of our money campaigning via the net from so far away just to make sure that PR gets the maximum mandate from the rakyat. Now we want to see that PR walk the talk.It has been reported that UMNO had ignored the plight of about 40,000 Indians who are without birthcertificates and ICs,some of their children have been denied their basic rights to a basic education by this racist UMNO putras. Some Tamil schools which admitted these kids on humanitarian grounds have been ordered by this UMNO scums controlled education ministryto sack those poor students who are mainly from the estates. Now we want to see what PR will do for this marginalized community as well as for the other community who are poor and desperately in need of help.We will be watching very closely all the developments in Malaysia.
I take this opportunity to CONGRATULATE Anwar Ibrahim.our new energetic and charismatic opposition leader.God bless our nation.
to bn, it has always been a money game. money this, money that, money everything … and that’s how this nation has been sinking … good thing for all bangsa malaysia there is pakatan rakyat …..
enough is enough …. shame on mahathir to be talking about open corruption that’s practised in BN especially he’s also the one who declared that malaysia is an islamic state!!! to these ppl, does religion come cheap to them?? islam is the official religion of this nation and corruption is a NO NO NO !!!
He said(Dr.M)… the PKR adviser might think he could “buy” the MPs but it would be impossible for him to “outbid the other bidders who have more money.”

‘Money politics’ ‘money politics’ ‘money politics’ ‘money
politics’ ‘money politics’ ‘money politics’ ‘money politics’!!!
WeIiI1!…. MANA LU?!….
The long expired mamak has admitted that BN can outbid anyone in buying over MPs as they have always done so. Is that what BN philosophy is all about. Was it the same reason why that yen yen lap K9 was dishing out rm200 ang pow to the registered voters of PP recently. They have definitely been drained out of their moral sense and its time we quarantine them permanently like what they did to the lepers in the old days, send to to devils island.
What dr m can think off is Money Money Money !
Money is evil in the hand of Devil like dr m !
he is so stupid to think that every thing is can be buy by money …haha wat a silly oldman !
TDM has mileage so long as you respond to him.
If everyone just ignore him, he will die the death that he so rightly deserves – a wrong doer forgiven and abandoned.
Sometimes, money is not all that matters! One has to keep to one’s principles in life!
Don’t take opportunists who probably wanted to move seeing that their roof is now falling apart. Have strict screening standards to reject the less qualified ones.
The SUPP in Sarawak could have been out of BN long time ago. They cannot do anything within Taib’s BN. Instead, the attitude they took was to praise Taib and get a minimum in return. The most obvious cases were for Sibu. Taib, the sole Rajah, let Sibu down and die. He did not want to develop Sibu and that eventually let to the downfall of Tan Sri Wong Soon Kai, the then deputy chief minister (and Mahathir’s classmate). At that time, SUPP put the blame on the federal government for fund allocation (marginalisation of Sarawak has been there before and during Mahathir’s time). We wanted so desperately a new airport, a bridge and a hospital. These three items took so long and more than several decades to get and accomplished. Shameful! After the fall of Tan Sri Wong, Taib wanted to punish the people of Sibu by giving no development. This is just going to make SUPP worse. SUPP lost most of the Sibu seats during last state election. You would feel so bad when you see how Wong Soon Koh, the deputy chief minister from Sibu, worshiped (we almost say that he is holding Taib’s balls)Taib for the sake of his own benefit but not for the people. Taib is the true Rajah. He has the best car in the world, a big diamond ring shinning round and also he has the private jet. Mahathir if claiming that he is a clean person, should not allow such a corrupted person to stay on.
One of the most disgusting incidents was Taib ran away during the period of haze. Initially no body knew where he was, and then announced as to USA, but later came out with the news to Canada looking for haze experts. What a joke to look for haze experts and yet haze problem still exists after spending so much money! I think Uncle Lim condemned this guy in the parliament, but SUPP and all the BN component parties acted as a fool by trying to fool the people. They basically agreed that Taib did go to look for haze experts by not knowing where Taib went to and pledged full support for Taib. I don’t know how we can support such a party who thought that the ordinary people are stupid.
During haze, Anwar was the acting prime minister and he visited Sarawak. Taib was not around (already left for his well-known unknown haze trip). I wonder what did the state government tell Anwar about Taib at that time (Uncle Lim should get the answer). We wanted to hear this answer for so long. At that time, there was also rumour stating that Taib could be arrested and charged for corruption when Anwar became the acting prime minister. Was this the reason why he left for the unknown trip (you never know and boleh ‘baseless’ rumours always came out to be true)? Unfortunately this did not happen and we wonder WHY. There are so many obvious cases around, especially dealing with assigning projects to the family corporation, lands, etc., and I wonder when will ACA start to investigate any of them. We may need to take decades to just look at these allegations.
You can’t wrap fire with paper. The truth will prevail.
The worst part is that, all this corrupt practices all done by using our hard earned taxed payers money!
Yet, the scums still felt so proud of their so low, low, low life…….hmmm.
You will need to use the nation’s money reserve in order to bribe every Malaysian. In the end, Malaysia will have no more money.
This remarks by Mamaktir further CONFIRMED that most if not all BN MPs are corrupt, himself included. The earlier evidence was when he remarked that Amnoo has degenerated into a culture of ‘what is there for me’ in the run up to the party’s election. This is the example set by the very TOP Leadership in Amnoo – corruption, and it has gained traction at the grassroot level. Worse, the ACA has to called in to monitor. Hey, friend, ACA is a government agency and not a political party – again abusing government machinery for political purposes and wasting public funds. Amnoo is really KURANG AJAR! They think the whole government belongs to the party. RM1.0 million to crossover? Over my dead body!

look at it this way, TDM is taking pot shots at BN by way of taunting Anwar.
Dr CMH “These dissatisfied leaders are welcome to join Pakatan Rakyat on their own volition.”
Chua Soi Lek you are welcome! It’s time to jump ship; the Titanic is sinking! They say the MCA mafia did it to you, if you make MCA chairmanship, bring along the whole party, the more the merry but then again don’t bring the mafia along.
ACA should go after such silly man, abusing power for 22 years. i have no respect for such person really. talking only money. money, money.
Mahathir’s wit seems to be lost on a lot of you :^) The real issue as I see it is not about money politics but what I call “status-politics”; convince and guarantee government PM’s the lure of position and status in Pakatan (that is seen to be poised to take over federal government) and you will have willing ears to listen.
Pakatan has an uphill struggle to secure 30 cross-overs, but even if it manages that, politics in Malaysia remains a dirty game and the dynamics can change within hours. The PAS factor must never be over-looked.
Night night.
Well TDM just don’t get it, no wonder many call him the father-of-curruption? People are saving Malaysia, it’s that simple, duh!
Mamakthir is a spent force, a senile who is still in dreamland thinking people are still listening to his nonsense. He should be enjoying his twilight days in retirement & basking in his ill-gotten wealth rather than spewing craptalk.
His senile mind has gone back to his old days when he practises money politics. If ACA has any worth left, they should dig into him and not just the small fries.
Anyway, nobody respect or listen to him anymore. Just let the mad dog bark, who cares.
OH… Zak ur senile child still here…
YA RIGHT NO MONEY POLITIC EH?… incase ur blind by local news, OH WAIT IM ON INTERNET!!!
click on the link as shown below and what ur ignorant to admit it…

Is that right agains religion and democracy?…
Shes just a dog without a soul, whos her superior that approve then?
Oh yes, Dr Chen, it’s good to know that you are actively with DAP inspite of your advance age. Good man like you with upright principles are blessed with a clear mind & long life. Thank you for your vast & unselfish contributions over the years.
May you be blessed with continuous good health so that DAP & all will benefit from your guidance & wisdom!
they many situation a person in life becomes rich, either from family inheritance, hardwork and thrifty, many friends support, lottery strikes, found them on the roadside, donated from anonymous persons, handout from government, being candidate to form a middle class of a social stratum, earn high pay from preferential treatment, distribution of wealth by govt policies, insider trading, croynism, nepotism, collusion and many many other ways.
But I say it is none more important that having HOPE and OPPORTUNITIES Brought forth OPEN and TRANSPARENT which has been lacking for so damn long.
At this point in time I can say that the Pakatan MPs are extremely clean because under the BN government the opposition members cannot afford to have their hands dirtied as the BN members because any small infractions committed by the Pakatan members will be highlighted and they will be immediately charged with corruption. Thanks to the corrupt BN the PR is always kept to the narrow and straight path and that they cannot practice corruption. But at a later date if PR were to assume power whether this disease will infect them, that I do not know. Therefore PR should have a mechanism to ensure that this insidious culture of BN corruption will not seeped into the coalition. As for BN I can say that it is 100% corrupt. If there is any MP that is not corrupt in BN he cannot overlook the sleaze around him and pretend that it is not there. Then he will just be like a pig that wallowed in its own shit.
I salute people like LKS and others like him. He has been in politics for years now and he has not succumb to the power of money but instead strive to expose corruption and misuse of power. He would have become very very rich if he were to accept the lure of membership in BN. Look at this angle. Any new party that was established during Mahathir time, the first thing they do is to apply for BN membership. Why?

Which Mamakthir’s son is involved here?
I like to say something here. Well the PR philosophy is one thing, but what PR is or will be doing is another thing. Whatever the philosophy is, the crux of the matter is in the simple word : do goodness and avoid evil. Remember, this simple word will even turn your supporter into enemies.
Now, PR is being enticed by US. But you rejected (or do not want do participate) in the case of an act on DNA. Dont you realised that US do have these laws? Are you sure you are not avoiding evil?
BN is a wounded tiger and is deperate. So are the other MP’s in BN. Each is scared of the others shadow. In politics, you need to do some wrong for the oveall betterment of the country.
Providing immunity for the Sabah and Sarawak MP’s from court action (after joining PR) should be considered. I rather let 30 criminals free; so as to clean the top 300 odd corrupt civil servants and politicians.
vsp wrote: “At this point in time I can say that the Pakatan MPs are extremely clean”.
Do you have the hard facts to support your statement?
Do you think Zulkifli Noordin, the PKR MP for Kulim-Bandar Baharu, is extremely clean, fair, and rational?
If people want to support PR, fine. But please do not go overboard and stick your necks out over details or things that you do not know. Do not support politicians blindly. Do not repeat the mistake that many did previously by supporting the BN blindly.
Many politicians are political animals that like to live in the Animal Farm. No, not as humans but as Napoleons, the Berkshire pigs! Beware, beware, and always beware of these creatures and monsters which walk walk upright on two feet!
its not easy for us layman (well, referring to me actually) to really understand and interpret Tun’s remark, but I think (my 2 sen laaa..) he is actually ‘menyindir’ ahli ahli UMNO/BN who’s ignoring his call to cleanse the party from within but keep on using money and power to ‘buy’ people’s support. he knows that doesnt work anymore…..
Dear YB Lim
I think my proposed “BN University” should add one more
department i.e. Department of Psychology.
Aim: to do research on why some irrational people cannot be
bought over by money, why some brainwashed people continue to
believe in non-Asian concepts such as popular democracy, freedom of speech, freedom of association, human rights etc.
Too many of these irrational people are around in Malaysia, you know!

Everyone….listen, PR is getting closer and closer. Everyone of your effort is gainning momentum for the final push.
AsalUsuLMalaysiaHacked, instead of throwing cheap remarks at those you disagree with, be man enough to justify your views maturely.
Providing links to stories that are not related to the specific aspect of party-hopping is wasteful and reflects your desperation perhaps?
p.s. Your English is much to be desired as well, maybe you should learn before you write.
Good day.
Can’t believe this old man is so stupid. His mentality is so limited. He had better keep quiet and let people think that he is less stupid. Anyway, we all know…!

Funnily enough that describes you aptly.
Yakking about cyberspace in Singapore and injecting personal opinions of libel and defamation has NOTHING to do with the MCMC’s act of censuring the Internet.
Zak… as much educated as u do, but pity u fail to utilize ur brain and evaluate which is right and wrong doing.
* That was a point BN PLAYING MONEY POLITIC, AND ITS FORBIDDEN NO?
There are only 4 types of politicians
a). What can the post, title, etc bring me? How much money, power, fame etc? Other thing totally not relevant.
b). What can I do for the ppl, nation, etc, if I get the post, title etc. Other thing totally not relevant.
c) A combination of both, some more (a), less (b),
d). A combination of both, some less (a), more (b).
So, rakyat, which type U want? a), b), c) or d) ?
The policy of the last 25 years has imprinted on the minds of all Malaysians so deep that now we have two distinct groups of people. One against and the other for TDM. Obviously as for the Pro-group, they had taken their share of prosperity from the national coffer; and of the other group which consists of two factions: one who opposed as a matter of conscience and the other who did miss the gracy-train.
I hope as for later group, there are more who despised him out of their conscience rather than just those who thought they missed the boat! Otherwise, we would all be back at square one!
As for Zak, I don’t think he really missed the gravy-train maybe, he was a little late; thus he prayed hard and hoped the the Meglomania will make a reurn through his proxy.
He and his kind just refused to see the havoc created during the last 12 years of his regime.Of there are many who like to hit Lau Lee generally out of jealousy of his successful programme. Well we can just be green-eyed monsters and pretend that we have more freedom of the press than the DOT south. But their coffer will continue to grow many folds even after our gas and black gold have been exhausted. And unless change can be effected sooner, we have only SATU JALAN ke- Zimbabwee!!
Good news for OCBC pek moh Arif Shah Omar Shah, who is searching for a place to get a Doctorate, after dropping out from Edison University of Technology!

Many ppl ignorant of possiblitity of going ‘zimb. way’ (if bn contnue the same way) when gas n petrol run out ! ‘Zimb way’ means
a) over 80% unemployment
b) over 2 million % inflation a year,
c) secondary school teacher average monthly salary cannot pay for transport cost to work or buy less than 8 loaves of 400gm bread!. so walks many kms to work.
d). long queue for bread, soap, candle, cash from yr salary etc
e). less than 9 hour of running water or electriclty per week
f) rubbish everywhere. n many others bad things.
Are these not scary, Msian!
I just cant believe that a prominant member of UMNO or rather the ex-president can pass sarcastic remarks on his successor and damned him in public. This is a scenerio being played out that this member of UMNO is belittling and destroying his own party but what bewild me is yet no other member is raising his or her concern. Is he so powerful that even after giving up his position, no one can say anything against him or object to his remarks?
