Mahathir ups the ante

Three immediate questions on Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad’s shock decision to quit Umno:

1. Was it the direct result of the Cabinet decision on the Lingam Video Clip Royal Commission of Inquiry report directing the Attorney-General to investigate Mahathir and five others for any offences committed by them?

2. Was it part of a larger grand plan to escalate pressure both inside and outside Umno to force Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to step down as Prime Minister and Umno President?

3. Was it an act of desperation at his failure to influence events in Umno so far?

Time will soon tell.

201 Replies to “Mahathir ups the ante”

  1. In Singapore, Senior LKY quit politic but he was been consulted, in Malaysia Tun Dr M quit politic but he was been bash in and out. This is the difference between non Malay and Malay.

China is strong because there are non Malay, they are not naive like the Malay.

  2. my view?

    1. An attempt to divert attention from the vk Lingam case.
    2. like boh-liao said..desperate end game attack..

To me.. a regular member quit the party… not big deal..
And by quitting, it does not make him a champion like Dato Onn Jaafar or Tunku Abdul Rahman… a rotten apples will always be rotten… and eventually have to be thrown away..

A case of pot calling the kettle black…

  3. This is typical Bollywood sandiwara. The 80-something “kid” is simply throwing a tantrum because he is gunning for the 30-something SIL who refuses to respond. Judging by the responses so far on the net, the 80-something “kid” isn’t getting a lot of sympathy votes but he may already have played his last card.

  4. Mahathir will do anything to get our PM Badawi down even by destroying UMNO or the Malaysia. He is that selfish. What Badawi did wrong ( to Mahathiu ) was that he did not build the crooked bridge for the crooked old man. This is his last stand to get at our PM. To me, he will be unsuccessful. He will in fact make UMNO weaker. Who will foollow him to resign? Maybe his son, his cronies and all those who have an interest with the crooked bridge. Now Anwar has a better chance of becoming the Malaysian PM. Who knows, worst come to the worst, Badawi strikes a deal with Anwar. Bring his followers to Barisan Rakyat and become PM and will be succeeded by Anwar later when he becomes an MP.

  5. With UMNO in complete disarray, PR will soon step in to fill the vacuum.
The political scenary has never been better in this country.
And according to Anwar, September will be D-Day!

  6. Dear All,

One could not help but to give credit and respect for Dr. Mahathir, who has, during his Premiership tenure, built and modernized Malaysia. He has open up the minds of the Malays and systematically usurped the political and to a certain extent, economical strengths of the non-Bumiputeras. As we all know that Dr. Mahathir is not a simple man. He has shown time and again that his interests come ahead of all else. In order to protect and further expand his interests or ideas, Dr. Mahathir will never hesitate to destroy his nemesis or blocks that stand along the way.

We can see the pararel between Abdullah’s efforts of cleaning up the inherited adminstration system and Dr. Mahathir’s apparent lost of influence in UMNO today may have led to this culmination. Many would also agree that Dr. Mahathir played a vital role of discrediting PM Abdullah and contributed to BN poor showing in the recent pool but he is trying to blame the latter for it. Abdullah has just got into the driver’s seat for nearing 5 years now but to undo something which had been deeply rooted in the on-going system and perhaps without the complete and full support of others, his agenda for change will definitely hit boulders and blocks. Despite of this, we should take our hats off for PM Abdullah, who had, till now, shown no sign of despair and lethargy, but determine and preservere.

We hope for the best by expecting the worst but then again some may believe that these are just birth pangs of a new era.

  7. “….we should take our hats off for PM Abdullah, who had, till now, shown no sign of despair and lethargy, but determine and preservere (sic).”

Where have you been the last 5 years ? The moon ?

  8. Three immediate answers:
    1. Yes
    2. Yes
    3. Yes

So, everybody – let’s focus on the Lingam and RCI issue – don’t let TDM distract us with his antics. What’s the big deal about one member out of millions resigning?

This is the difference between a Minister Mentor and a Minister Tormentor.

  9. It is part of his big plan to remain relevant and retain political power. He is a power hungry beast. And Abdullah stands in the way and therefore to achieve the big plan, he has to dethrone Abdullah and put in his stead an obedient puppet. The grand plan is now made the more urgent by the Lingam Report and more than ever, Mahathir now needs the necessary political power to save himself and his friends. So he made a last ditch – leave UMNO, hoping that he can create a “revolution” against Abdullah and an exodus of UMNO members out of the party. I don’t think he will succeed in his plan. think not many will be bothered about him leaving UMNO. He has made himself quite a very detestable person of late. He and his dark history have been in the limelight so much that after a while, the general public concensus is that he has done much more harm than good for Malaysia. He should have just retired gracefully.

  10. Santamaria!
Now is the time for DSAI to stand for election. Time to reclaim what is rightfully his since his sacking by TDM. Time to simply to the right thing for the sake of the rakyat.
Crikey! DSAI can stand in any seat today and wins hands down, complete with aplomb, grandeur and fireworks galore.
The way the tide turns is simply awesome!

  11. Dr. Mahathir is desperate to stop the Lingam inquiry to proceed to the courts. PM Badawi also may not like it but Dr. Mahathir has to be blamed for the present situation. The UNMO strongmen & cronies also do not want matters to go to court and at the same time want to retain their power and the present system.

The present system is rotten to the core that the majority of the Malays also cannot take it. Thus Dr. Mahathir is destroying UMNO, the Malays and the country to protect himself and the his cronies.

  12. REPOSTING

From Mahathir’s view point, it is better to resign by himself instead of being revoked the membership or being expelled.

What will UMNO do? If UMNO is smart enough, it should not accept his withdrawn of membership, but to expel him. In that case, he will be like Anwar, given no path of return. So he would know how Anwar felt.

    —–
After 20+ years, I must say that he has less wealth compared to other corrupted leaders of same generation, such as Suharto, Marcos, TAIB MAHMUD of Sarawak, and even other UMNO or MCA or MIC politicians who spent less years in politics than him. To be honest, does he need UMNO membership any more? I think he no longer needs it. While we want to spit at him, we also hold some respect for him (and thus stopped spitting at him).

One thing that he has learned for sure is POWER is everything. Without power in hand, all his former cabinet ministers no longer respect him. They respect only people with power, and it is Abdullah Badawi. Once abdullah falls, this group of opportunists just switch to another master.

I agree with Mahathir that UMNO is no longer relevant. I hope that was the reason why he dropped out of UMNO

  13. He has done some good things and some bad things…..but our country with huge natural resources and resourceful, talented and peace loving people deserve better.

Just keep quiet and let the people sort out the mess!

  14. What are the nature of his complaints against Abdullah? Crocked bridge, 4th floor boys, Abdullah’s cronies, etc

Mahathir hadn’t talk about fighting corruption, crimes, untainted judiciary, New Malaysian agenda, racial equility, equal opportunities. What Mahathir figh for has nothing to do with PR’s agenda.

So maybe this is where we part ways with Mahathir. I wish him well. I wish him good health. Bye Dr. Mahathir.

  15. It just shows his character:
    1. vengeful
    2. Mega egoism only he is right
    3. Child-like behavior. Always wanting his way or throws tantrum.
    4. selfishness. willing to create chaos for his narrow views.

  16. Probably yes in varying degrees for all 3 of Kit’s questions. UMNO presidency and premiership is a powerful position that the Deputy is always vying to dislodge the incumbent, and the incumbent, once having held it, cannot be contented with retirement and tends to always fault the successor. Thus it happened to the Tunku, Tun Hussein Onn and now Tun Dr Mahathir.

TDM’s resignation represent less a threat and more an opportunity to both Pak Lah and Pakatan Rakyat’s defacto leader…..

It is not impossible – politics is art of the possible – what MY VIEW commented – “Who knows, worst come to the worst, Badawi strikes a deal with Anwar. Bring his followers to Barisan Rakyat and become PM and will be succeeded by Anwar later when he becomes an MP”.

Even TDM wondered aloud why Pak Lah has been spared Anwar/PR’s harshest criticism. Is it only because Anwar was released when Pak Lah took the helm???

In April this year PKR/Pakatan Rakyat defacto PR’s leader Anwar Ibrahim made two cryptic statements in a trip to East Malaysia –

    1. crossing over by BN MPs would enable the Pakatan Raykat coalition to form the new government before September 16th this year. “God willing we will be there. If not next month, the following month, if not June or July, on Merdeka or Malaysia Day. I think we should not exceed beyond that,” Anwar said.

    2. He also told Malaysiakini that he shall make a comeback to politics and helm Malaysia as its next Prime Minister in 3 years time, setting a time line for the first time for all to see.

Ever wondered the Question : If Pakatan Raykat coalition were to form the new government before September 16th this year why does DSAI have to wait 3 years for a comeback to politics and helm Malaysia as its next Prime Minister???

Who will be the Malay leader to helm Malaysia as its next Prime Minister come Sept 16 for 3 years – and why 3 years???
Is it likely PAS’s Abdul Hadi and PKR’s Dr Wan Azizah – Dato Seri Ahmad Abdullah Badawi???
After all, the latter only evinces an intent to take only two terms, the present is the second term ending about 3 years time.

And such an alliance would make sense for two reasons :

First, Pakatan Raykat cannot rule comfortably unless with 2/3 majority with support and in cooperation with a major faction from UMNO led by AAB, followed by Gerakan & others….

And second, AAB’s pro reform and populist stance – at least in rhetoric, never mind it’s not, until after 8th March, mostly not backed by action – is ideologically symmetrical and in line with Pakatan Raykat’s. (Here AAB’s lack of walking to talk can be conveniently be blamed on resistence from pro Mahathir’s forces surrounding him).

The problem of factionalism within the ruling coalition contending for power has, especially after 8th March, been drawn around axis of those comfortable with Mahathir’s legacy and politics and those seeking reforms. So it is logical that a realignment and reconfiguration of political alliances will be drawn and fought out on basis of whether one is in Mahathir’s or Pak Lah’s camp.

  17. What he’s doing is helping the PR to gain more breadth ahead of the BN.

What Tun Dr. M is fightin is his own face, he thought they treated him like “cheap” he attempted before to put DSAI into the jail & successfully made him political mute for 10 yrs. Now he’s back with his own trick, that little man KhirTL sided him, don’t forget he’s a billionaires in Malaysia, who dare to touch him excep the govt.? Forget abt. anyone else, it’s a private affairs. The return of the Godfather.

  18. What this evil Mamak is trying to do is to creat some sort or chaos in the country so that foreign investors will loose confidence in the country and move to away. I wonder whether he is in the payroll of other countries who will be the beneficiary of these investors.

  20. “But now it has become a party merely to support Abdullah’s leadership, serve his, his family’s and his cronies’ interests,” MM alleged again.

A correct, correct statement from someone who went through the path not too long ago. Just replace “Abdullah’s” with “Mahathir’s” in the above statement and we will see how our PMs function – demi negara, demi bangsa?

His MP son, MM, should follow his footstep and resign from Umno and as an MP too (since he was elected as a BN Umno candidate). Have a bye election between MM (the son) and AI (the guy the former declared should not be the PM of Malaysia).

  21. This Senile Tun M have been wanting “love” and “attention” since the day he stood down as PM (thank God)….

This Ku Klax Klan leader of UMNO is just a Lagenda in his own lunch box under the coconut husk!!

Frankly Who cares….Siapa Peduli he quits UMNO……..

We must NEVER think he is in the same Class as Onn Jaffar, Tunku, Hussein Onn……….yet he is trying unashmefully to emulate these better leaders of Malaysia. A Shameful man should just be forgotten…..the sonner the better it is for Malaysia. Wish the media would report less of him……..nothing he says will make a better Malaysia….all for his own selfish Game…..BERAMBUS!!

  22. The problem with Mahathir is that he is dealing with a type of person he has never dealt with before. A totally incompetent fool who doesn’t know whether he is coming or going, a Forrest Gump type who does not know how to respond, and simply waits for time to take its course.

“Stupid is as stupid does.” Mahathir is totally stumped. Bodohwi is one leader who gets slapped in the face and still bounces back for more.

  24. Whatever may be the motivation behind the resignation – be it desperation, Lingamgate pressure cooker or gunning for Abdullah, life has certainly been interesting for this ‘by-passed’, part-time amnesiac and still craving out for the ‘tin-pot dictator’ notoriety Mr. ‘I-am-not-a-Postman’ proponent of mega-symbolism. It looks like the old Chinese curse “May you have an interesting life’ does stick on this mamak who tries to put on a Malay mask and stir them up.
Reading the comments on various blogs, one cannot help but come to the conclusion that not many tears (not even buaya ones) will fall come the inevitable decay and destruction of this man, his legacy and whatever he may stand for. When it does come, I will join many who will pull out a prized cigar to celebrate the ocassion.

  25. The immediate quiting of Mahathir from UMNO is just an old antics by an old man who likes to throw his tantrums around when he did not get what he wanted or did not have his ways, carried no wieght at all, and is perceived to be just another “wayang Kulit” which he performed desperately to attract attention of UMNO members.

When he enticed others to emulate him, no single UMNO members pay heed to him, except his wife, who has no alternatives but to follow her husband.

However he has managed created enough spotlight for himself and his family and his son, as the foreign media who are hungry for such “sensational” news always gave him the space for his antics.

22 years of his past rules had seen all sorts of abuses, corruptions, cronism, nepotism… that any one could imagined. What moral credibility he has to tell others off over the abuses, corruptions, nepotism ect… that were famously attached to his regime in the past.

It is a sad episode for himself, no sympathy from any one from the citizen. His was worse off than the present administration, if not the worst so far.

  26. Now Mahathir is going for broke to get rid of Badawi. He wants to put one of his crony as PM to protect him so that he will not be dragged to court. As such, Abdullah Badawi must stay on as PM and continue with his reforms especially to prosecute Mahathiu related to the Lingam’s case and other matters related to his interference with the judiciary. He should name all the judges involved. All this while Mahathiu seems to be able to manipulate and manoeuvre to avoid prosecutions in which he flly deserved.

  27. Pakatan Rakyat officials say that the resignation and the possible upheaval will help them persuade Barisan Nasional MPs to cross over to the Opposition and force the collapse of the government led by Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. A highly-placed source in Umno said that party officials are working hard to head off defections and maintains that talk of fresh elections is still premature.

  28. Mahathir is worng this time.

The parasites in UMNO will not follow him and resign. Who will give them goodies and candies if they do that ………….

No Way ! Mahathir, you will now dissapear into political oblivion

  29. As I see it, the whole thing boils down to his fear for Anwar who might very soon if Pakatan Rakyat takes the Federal government, becomes Malaysia’s 6th Prime Minister – that he an never imagine possible. So in his desperate need to ward off Anwar, he needs to get rid of a weak Abdullah to get back control of Umno.

Abdullah should not accept his resignation(which has not been received yet) but instead sack him. This will burn the bridges and prevent him from ever rejoining Umno again similar to what he did to Anwar Ibrahim. Let him taste his own medicine and see the fun!

This old jackal is being ridiculed – PAS has offered to take him in as a member so has PPP the smallest BN component party. Yeah, he’s that small now!

  31. The government is on the right track. Mahathir is feeling the pressure of being prosecuted. He knows he is guilty. He might lose his Tun title. He will lose face. That’s why he have to get rid of Badawi now. When the trial starts, his passport should be compounded. He might run overseas to escape prosecution. I am still trying to figure out where he will go. Cannot be US or Europe. Not even India or China. Maybe Palestine or Iraq.

Many of us, if we can live up to 82, will probably be suffering from Alzheimer disease. I suppose we all interact with the old people whose minds are quite different from Mahathir

  35. Now who has the last laugh? When Fong Poh Kuan wanted to quit just before the 12th GE, Najib was gloating and making all kinds of condescending statements.

  40. This mamak aka ‘malay celup’ is resigning from the ‘UMNO celup’.
The original UMNO was dissolved in 1988.
Since both are celup, no big deal…..

this mamak is a good actor…

    he acted on the followings….

in 2002, with rafidah when he wanted to step down….
in 2006, pepper spray attack by his man(paid by him to act as attacker) in Kelantan, (copied the idea of Taiwan’s Chen Shui Bien shooting incident)

now, in 2008, develop new show, title “Resigning from UNMO celup”… acted together with his loyal dog.

  41. Just two sentences to describe the UMNO/BN at the present moment:-

    Hantus hantam sama hantus,
Sama-sama die at the same time (Self-destructive mode)

No wonder DSAI is not in a hurry as things getting bloody.

  42. You are damn right Jeffrey when you say ‘Nothing wrong with Forrest Gump type if he could out-fox and neutralise the Mahathir type.’ for the Mahathir type is the slyest mamak type fox that has ever trotted on planet Earth. It is about time to consign his type to the dust-bin of history!

  43. My answer to all three questions are YES.

But again there are many other factors.

Another factor is this man EGO. We are talking of EGO that no man match his.

He has been the TOP man in this country for over two decades and suddenly he wake up each day seeing himself deserted by the men he ruled over the years. So it is naturally this man will get upset and desperate to do do what ever and by his own way. He would not what other has to say. 47. We have to admit to these facts:
    1. TDM’s strategic and political thoughts are very shrewd,
generally beyond the comprehension of most of us. From past
records, we only understood his actions and decisions with the
benefit of hindsight after seeing events unfold.
    2. TDM is a street-fighter, who never runs away from a fight
even if the odds may seem stacked against him.
    3. Being the ex-PM and still commanding a reasonable level of
influence among the Rakyat and certain Govt institution, it is
not that “easy” to charge and convict him in the Lingam fiasco.
Look at the case of ex-South Korean Presidents wherein Chun
Do Hwan and Roh Tae Woo, who were both charged and
convicted with jail sentence. South Korea went through a
period of national trauma. While both their ex-Presidents were
serving their jail sentences, it only dawned on the South
Koreans that they should have just pardoned them and move
the country forward instead of seeking punishment which also
brought a tinge of national shame.

I am no defender of TDM, and it is up to the laws of our country to decide whether he had committed any wrong doing, and it is up to the courts to adjudicate his case.
The current political situation is very fluid. It is obvious that the front-runners, should Pak Lah be sidelined, would be Tengku Razaleigh and Anwar. If Pak Lah can hang on, Anwar will not make the move to push him out. If TR makes the first move on Pak Lah, then Anwar may join in the fray and wrestle with TR. Najib is non-factor in this end-game.
With TDM out of UMNO, he is not bound by party rulings to back any UMNO member to be next PM. For all we know TDM, at the appropriate time, may push for an apolitical person to take over from Pak Lah. And this may well turn out to be his last act of redemption for our country and Rakyat.

///SHARM EL-SHEIKH (Egypt): Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is willing to talk to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad over his sudden resignation from the party.///

PM AAB should be very happy now that TDM has left the party on his own, and he needn’t have to get the supreme council to sack TDM. Was Najib trying to sabotage PM AAB in getting TDM to return, or was Najib desperate to hang on to support from TDM and his ilk?

///Expressing shock and sadness over the former Prime Minister’s announcement, Najib said he had met Dr Mahathir previously and that he was prepared to meet him again to discuss the decision.///

When PM AAB is happy with TDM’s decision, and yet Najib is shock and sad, clearly TDM is a source of conflict for the two. TDM causes unhappiness to AAB in remaining a member of UMNO. Why does Najib try to change TDM’s mind? Is Najib loyal to PM AAB as he has been saying all the time?

///Reading from a prepared statement, Najib said that Dr Mahathir was a respected leader and his contributions to the party and nation were invaluable.///

Whatever TDM was to UMNO, he is telling the whole world that the results of the 12th general election should be null and void by asking the PM to resign. The question of who stopped the use of indelible ink and landed BN the majority to form government is still unresolved. But the people accepted that change of government should be based on democratic procedures, and not clandestine maneuvers within the ruling party. TDM incites contempt against the PM and hence the present government. Is that seditious?

///Najib also said that he had contacted Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on the matter soon after news of the decision reached him here.///

Was it to get approval to read the prepared statement?

/// ”I will continue to discuss with the party president on efforts to strengthen Umno and also the issue of leadership transition in the party”.///

PM AAB made the mistake in talking about succession plan. The word transition if accepted by PM AAB should mean that he might remain as PM in name only.

/// “I hope all Umno members will stay calm and give support to our efforts to strengthen the party,” he told Malaysian reporters during a short meeting here while attending the World Economic Forum on the Middle East’.///

If TDM has the potential to be PM again, there might be some members who follow him hoping that there might be a change in political future and fortune. But he is too old. It costs Najib nothing to tell UMNO members to stay calm, and yet it makes TDM think that he is still relevant in UMNO politics. But that call might give the impression that PM AAB does not have solid support within the party, and might not even win the Presidency come December election. If a party president cannot take care of a political has been, then he can’t be a leader!

///Najib, who is Umno management committee chairman, said he had also spoken to other Umno leaders on the issue, but declined to identify them.///

Was the information intended for TDM or PM AAB? It’s strange that even the issues cannot be disclosed, and much less the decision. Is it a potential showdown at the Supreme Council?

///Asked if Dr Mahathir’s decision would prompt other Umno leaders to follow suit, Najib replied: “Wallah hu’alam (Only God knows). I don’t know.”///

Yes, some UMNO leaders in the five PK controlled states will be happy to see a change to their fortune at all costs. They have not experienced the life of opposition politicians before, and they certainly do not like them now. It would be soothing to them if somebody could be blamed for their misfortune. Besides, how can they sit still when others are still enjoying the power? Sense of jealousy is difficult to be ameliorated, especially when that has been promoted like one’s culture which underpins national policy. But the more realistic politicians always remember the teaching of ‘minta pada yang ada”. PM AAB will have the upper hand.

///He said that, previously, problems which affected the party were discussed and settled within the party’s walls.///

Extraordinary event takes extraordinary solutions. Man in desperation cannot follow normal procedure!

/// “Umno should remain the only party which struggled for the Malays now and for the future. We cannot allow internal issues in Umno to hamper our responsibility to the people”.///

UMNO has never had to struggle with any other parties or races for looking after the interests of Malays. They will have to struggle among the leaders to present themselves as heroes for the community in fighting against imaginary odds. In the process, UMNOputras enjoyed all the perks, wealth and authority so that ordinary Malays can be proud of them. When UMNO overpowered all other political parties, they monopolize power, legalize corrupt practices monopolized by them, and bully other races to demonstrate that the party is indispensable to Malays.

/// “The Barisan Nasional has obtained the majority votes to lead the Government, and we should continue with our work for the people and resolve problems affecting the party,” he said.///

Tell it to TDM that he should not make use of the election results to settle his personal score against PM AAB.

“In Singapore, Senior LKY quit politic but he was been consulted, in Malaysia Tun Dr M quit politic but he was been bash in and out. This is the difference between non Malay and Malay.

China is strong because there are non Malay, they are not naive like the Malay.”

    ————————

lakilompat, you have the right to voice out but your naïve and insensitive remarks above were racial and totally uncalled for. Being a first-generation Malaysian Chinese, I condemn you! Who are you? You cannot be of Chinese origin. Plse identify yourself!

  50. In the late 90s when Tun M was having a clash with Anwar (over the latter’s alleged sex scandal) and where street demonstrations were rampant, Tun M made these statements in the press: “If they (the demonstrators and Anwar’s supporters) voted me in, they must vote me out, that is democracy – they can’t use demonstrations and protests to force me step down”. Has Tun M forgotten what he said? The way he treats PL merely reflects his (Tun’s) double standards.

  51. Dont be fooled by this old man action he is just merely want to distract his involvement with the V.K. Lingam. This old man is playing our mind after consultation with Najis. Najis advise him to act or pretend to distract the issue it is so obvious

  52. Taken from raksasabn.blogspot.com

Persoalannya apakah pendirian Mukhriz?

Nasihat saya, dugalah dulu dalamnya lautan sebelum memulakan langkah.

  53. If you watched TV last nite, part of TDM’s statement related to VK L scandal was ‘kalau saya dapati salah, saya masuk jail’.

This man is scared shit and shiting bricks. He knows he is cornered and resigning from UMNO Baru is his last act of desperation. He has lost everything. He is hoping maybe he can save himself.

This is part of the game. but it will not work out. Razaleigh said he is not going to quit, so is Muhiddin. Mukrif is in a fix now, should he be the 1st MP to resign from UMNO Baru. Will that create a domino effect? The answer is no. AAB and KJ will be very happy if Mukrif quit UMNO Baru. No more challenge from the inside.

  54. A serious lack of maturity….and this is the guy who led Malaysia for 22 years…..and bankrupted the country….should have gone much earlier but Malaysians as usual had no guts……what has changed and fired them up to get rid of all these buffoons has been the internet…..so let’s hail the new guru of truth and justice……the internet……without which Malaysia would have been a Myanmar………….

  55. raven77:

Don’t speak too soon. We are heading inexorably towards Myanmar and the Philippines under BN. The only way to save ourselves is to get rid of this cancerous administration.

  56. Lakilompat,

No! No! No!… We already beyond that.

I and my family vote for DAP in the PRU12. We have now seen a different society where all races should co-exist, prosper and excel together.

To utter such ridiculous words are pure racism and it should be barred.

Don’t get distratcted. Continue to pursue the Lingam case. Continue to govern the 5 states transparent and with care. Now it’s also high time to reveal more on the VK2, VK3 and remaining tape. Let the UMNO-BN continue their in-figthing while the others continue with our day to day life and for a better Malaysia

  57. In the ruling zeitgeist of his era, the Orwellian reductio ad Mahathirum of racial equal opportunity was the octopus of turning the Malays into rich Towkays’ drivers. Praise be to God, most of our Malay brothers and sisters now know his old rule of divide et impera, divide and rule.

Remember his remarks after the demise of Indonesia former President Suharto? “Even though Indonesia was not an ideal democracy during Suharto’s time, the fact remained that he brought stability to Indonesia. Of course, there is a price to be paid,” Mahathir said, acknowledging that some people had suffered under Suharto’s administration. (“Suharto Dies” — the Star, 28Jan’08.) Was he saying that killing people and corruption are the inevitable price of “doing good” in the developing world, and that the end justifies the means?

One’s contributions to the nation cannot and must not be denied, to be sure, but we must not forget Lord Acton’s Dictum — Great men are almost always bad men.

And to the “bad men” I say please be gone and stay gone.

  58. lakilompat, racist statements have no place in a forum such as this. In case, you have never come across similar statements made by others, allow me…

there is no such thing as Chinese supremacy. Chinese do NOT have a genetic superiority over Malays. For anyone to claim that that is no such thing as ‘pure Malays’ and in the same breath claim ‘Chinese (inherent, god-given, genetic, what have you) superiority’ is to delude himself/herself. It’s time you ask yourself if there is such a thing/race called Chinese or if it is in fact a convenient term used to group all original races living in a defined land mass under one political entity. I am Chinese only because it is far easier a term to use than to explain that actually I am Han from the dialectic sub-group of…much like the Hokkien, Hainanese, Cantonese, Teochew and so on and so forth till you come to the Uighurs, Miao and other original peoples in the huge land mass called China.

So, maybe it is TIME that WE ‘CHINESE’ insist that we no longer refer to ourselves as ‘Chinese’ but simply MALAYSIAN.

We are born of this land and live in Malaysia, and China is simply just another country far away. China is resurgent at this point but by no means can it be used to equate to ‘Chinese resurgence’!

There are stupid Chinese too, you know. Damn bloody stupid. You don’t believe..check out the MCA and Gerakan! The fish rots from the head down. The stink is great because there are many rotting idiotic fishes in MCA and Gerakan who for so long chose to play the RACE CARD – the divide and rule strategy!

Malaysians have simply chosen to REJECT these idiots, the first amongst whom was the sexist female ‘longkang’ incumbent MP who warned Chinese against voting for PKR and PAS, led by DSAI and Nik Aziz by refering to race riots!

We voted PAS! And we voted PKR! We, Chinese, entrusted our future to Malay leaders!

So, stop your racist statements lest you annoy DSAI and Nik Aziz, and all our Malay brethren who visit this blog.

DSAI for Prime Minister by Sept 16, 2008!

  59. For 22 years he held sway of this country, doing things at his own fancy, abusing power, pilfering for the benefits of his family and cronies, stifling dissent and blocking any attempt to reform this country. Having created all the mess, he is now throwing tantrum complaining almost everything is not right. Who care really what he is saying now? First, the present administration is nothing but the carbon copy of his model. Monkeys see monkeys do, remember. Second, what credibility has he got to say anything when all the problems we now face were his doing? Third, what was he not happy about – the crooked bridge, double tracking, Proton, the 4th floor? Ok, these are on going. Now it is oil for food. Hello, old man, you have to make up your mind what exactly is troubling you. We also remember Petronas through MISC rescued Konsortium Perkapalan in the aftermath of 1997 financial crisis. This is only one example. There are countless others and I think it is time you are called to account. There is no need to divert attention. ALL MUST ACCOUNT – PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE LEADERS. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY FORWARD.

  60. Yang Berhormat Lim Kit Siang,

By not deleting the RACIST POSTING BY lakilompat,

    1) are you condoning his comment ?

    2) are you allowing the freedom of speech to infringe on other races’ ability and capability ?

  61. lakilompat says: China is strong because there are non Malay, they are not naive like the Malay.

So you think China is strong. What if i tell you there are lots of stupid chinese there as well. By the way can you change your ID to something else. Sometimes it looks like limkamput. Since i am here longer than you, can you please change your ID to “No-racist”, please.

  62. Dear lakilompat,

I’ve worked with Malays all my life. In fact I was born and raised up in a Kampong in Klang. I don’t think Chinese are superior to Malays and vice versa. How can you have a conclusion like that?

Let me tell you this: I am 48 and my assistant is a 25 year old Malay girl. She went to perform her Haj and I am please to tell you she has more patience, tolerance and grace than me.

I am still learning these qualities from those around me. Yes, my academic and professional qualifications are better than them, but that is all.

The “superiority” is the sum of all and it is a very difficult measure. So there is no such thing as a superior race.

What is superior in your eyes may not be superiority at all but just plain bias.

Try to have a life lah!

    White cannot be termed good
Black also cannot be termed no good
Good is Good irrespective of whether it is black or white.

  63. After reading TDM’s blog on Ketuanan Melayu, I cant believe this dude still playing racial card. Maybe I am too sensitive but I couldnt think of other intrepretation after reading it!

I think 838 is a date whereby many malaysian realise racial politic is enough and all we want is to make malaysia for malaysian and start to pull everything back in order! I for one is so happy that in fact, we (chinese, malay, indian and others) are not so divided afterall!

  64. Hahaha…limkamput having an identity crisis ? Can we make suggestions as to more appropriate handles for Limkamput in this blog since he says he confuses himself with lakilompat ?

  65. The Deputy Prime Minister had a private two hours discussion with Yabhg Tun, last week.

The Deputy Prime Minister is out of the country now.

The timing of the outburst of ” I QUIT” as being challenged by a pas leader that failed to take on YB Datuk Mukriz in the recent election.

Ybhg Tun should quit UMNO, but unconditional.

The rate of hollow adminstration by YAB Abdullah Badawi, may see the breakup of Malaysia into three countries. Malaya, Sabah, and Sarawak. I dont wish that to happen.

    It happened in former USSR.
    It happened in Indonesia.

Whatever , The Prime Minister promised to the raayat of Sabah and Sarawak must be implemented immediately. Not only the illegal immigrants, but fair and equal distribution of wealth. Equal opportunities for Sabahans and Sarawakians. Not allowing only the elite handful to be super billionaires.

BEING RACIST IS BAD, CLOSE ONE EYE TO RACISM IS EQUALLY EVIL.

  66. DEAR LIMKAMPUT,

Asking someone to change his identity is criminal intimidation .
Surely you are a better person than that.

    lakilompat is simply racist.
we dont need any extra racist in Malaysia.

  67. Dear Adam, that was just the light side. The real message is asking him not to be racist. I am not a lawyer. I get rattled if big legal terms are labelled against me. I am sorry, not intending to intimidate anyone.

The haze is coming back, can we do something about it in this blog and elsewhere. Year in and year out we talk and talk. It is time to walk the talk.

Got to go, need to make a living this evening.

  68. A racist leader/s must be challenged by the race he/she claimed to represent. If not, it would give the wrong message to the other races that the racist leader/s’ views are supported by the followers.

Decades of politics of race and religion are destroying the country.

Bukan UMNO tetapi PNMB! PNMB! PNMB!

Macam akronim nama GLC pula! Kah, kah, kah, kah…

Eh, eh mana pula DSAI ni? Cepat, jadi Perdana Menteri Sept 16!
Kami semua sokong, tak kira bangsa atau agama!

  70. Ai-yoyoo, matilah, only yesterday still so many people lined up to kiss my hand, but no MP ikut I keluar Umno, not even my own MP son, thought MM. How come? Better jumpa Samy and join MIC.

  71. TDM should stop thinking about the pleasure of his past because that make his present not enjoyable.

AAB is a man full of confidence, that’s why he always receives unknown blows.

Sometimes, old men act like children!

Absolutely true especially Mahathiu. Always play on racial card. So no loss to Malaysians that he left UMNO. In fact he is destroying UMNO by instigating people to leave UMNO. Actually he is doing all these for himself because of a crooked bridge. The son is afraid he will lose his position if he were to join his father. He thinks UMNO belongs to his father when he ask Abdullah to step down. Like father like son.

Karma. Like it or not, mahathir will die broken hearted. he will not achieve what he is trying to do. Face the Commission/judges for all that he has done during the last 22 years.

    ————————————————————
At the beginning he had a good karma. That’s why he can become a PM. During his 22 years of rule, his good karma began to fade because of his doings. Even now his good Karma continues to diminish. So I will not be surprise if he ends up like what you say above.

  77. Mahathir probably got angry. He never took lightly veiled threats to his power when PM, let alone open challenges; and now his legacy is under threat.

Then he thought about leaving the party he devoted his entire life for, thinking to himself how ungrateful these people are. If not for him, he thought, they wouldn’t be where they are today. He pondered not for the first time over what effect his resignation would and could have on his followers.

Enough have confided in him, telling him how disappointed they are with Badawi and enough may leave in support of him. Those who decide to stay may force Badawi to resign gracefully and for health reasons.

Here the Mahathir streak took over! He always thrived on challenges and lived on the edge. Well, he could do that again or so he thought.

Well, I think this time he miscalculated!

Others less appreciative of the man, may say “He has no choice but to resign or be booted out”.

Say what you want but Malaysia politically has been in unchartered waters for some time now. This is just another phase of a political storm that refuses to go away.

  78. 1. Was it the direct result of the Cabinet decision on the Lingam Video Clip Royal Commission of Inquiry report directing the Attorney-General to investigate Mahathir and five others for any offences committed by them?

No! Because Mahathir ups the ante. Who will wins? Nobody, except all the losers are ordinary Malaysians.

  79. 2. Was it part of a larger grand plan to escalate pressure both inside and outside Umno to force Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to step down as Prime Minister and Umno President?

Is there a difference in a fight between Ketuanan Melayu versus Ketuanan Melayu when It’s all cock and bull story? If Abdullah Badawi steps down, Anwar will be the Prime Minister and I think Mahathir don’t want that, but since there’s no permanent enemy in the political arena so I suggest Mahahtir pre-empt Abdullah and do the right thing by joining PKR. Anwar will be very pleased.

  80. Somebody asked what if no Umno MPs join him, even his son Mukhriz is staying put in Umno? My answer is he’ll hang himself at Petronas Twin Tower since he’s desperate for publicity!

  81. those umnoputras should look into the mirror and ask themselves if they want to serve the people( regardless of race) or milk the nation. If the latter, they should just make themselves dissappear from the political arena….

Same of course goes to all politicians.

Who wants to bet Khir toyo will follow MM??? Whatever happened to the PKFZ saga???

  82. Not happy with Abdullah the UMNO president : he left UMNO

Not happy with Abdullah the Malaysian PM : why not leave M’sia??

But with friend like this, not even Mugabe would accept him!

  83. Dun you guys think that the face of son Murid is more like a mamak than Mahathiu himself?

If Mahathiu is not a mamak, then who actually fathered son Murid?

Anyhow, no matter how they disguised themselves, they are just fake Malays who are destroying and raping this beautiful Malaysia.

  84. Chinese say “For a man to take revenge, 10 years not too late.”

True for DSAI vs Dr M.

For Dr M vs Abdullah, too bad he ain’t got 10 more years.
    Really “mountain poor, water end.”

  85. I like the `new’ Mahathir…..and the `old’ Badawi. I disagree with the lot of you….who spew hatred……about MM and AB…….I am surprised with all these negative comments.

A man who led the country for 32 years cannot be ignored. He is of sound mind and his heart is renewed.

We may not fully agree with MM or AB……but both are leaders on their own right.

Slamming every other person freely on the net is unbecoming.

Surely, LKS too must realise it by now.

Speak when it is right and speak fairly with integrity……and do not let the net and blogsites to be filled by nonsensical writings…

  86. Then, Tim, you have heard nothing that LKS, DSAI, Karpal, the Malaysian Bar Council, the 52% of Malaysians who voted for the PR alliance parties have said so far. And you have definitely not seen the Lingam tape, nor followed the current developments on the RCI.

Surely, if you had, you would know why ‘every other person’ is being slammed in this blog. Given your lack of background, ‘nonsensical’ must surely refer more aptly to your own statments :) :)

  87. Why is he not charged for sedition when he played the racial card? Where is Mr Razak? Please explain. I need a good reason. It would be much easy to commence investigation on seditious acts now when he is out of Umno, it’nt it Mr Abdualah? You have been called a ‘gutless” PM. Now is the time to prove your guts!

  88. Dear Lakilompat,

I refer to your posting. Criticism is accepted and welcomed but lease spare the insult. There is no need to be racist here.

Although I sometimes defend UMNO and Tun Dr Mahathir, I do not insult people of other faith simply because of the color of their skins. WHo am I to be so jugdemental about others. What guarantee that I will not receive the same treatment should I encourage racism.

As for Tun Dr Mahathir, I personally believe that his decision is not right. But againTun is entitled to make his own decision. I however, do not agree with his continuous criticm against the current administration.

Initially, his criticm was welcomed. However, it becomes obvious that his criticism becomes personal. Out of respect to a leader, uMNO members have exercise utmost restraint in dealing with Tun.

However, from a friend of mine who is a Ketua Bahagian UMNO and also a Member of Parliament, Tun is upset that no UMNO leaders had ever publicly supported his statement that as a Prime Minister he is entitled to appoint the Chief Judge and he need not give the reason for appointing that person.

Here Iagree with Tun. A Prime Minister has the right to appoint a Chief Judge. I also believe that the main focus should be Lingam, Yun Fairuz and Tun Eusoff Chin. As far as I know, I see no mistake made by Tun Dr Mahathir with regards to Lingam tape issue. Any Tom Dick and Harry can boast that he has the influence over PM on the appointment of jugde. The onus is on him to prove his claim.

As for Anwar, it is clear that he is rushing to fullfill his dream of becoming the Prime Minister to the point that he feels nothing at stabbing the current Prime Minister who helped him so much in his early years in UMNO.

Perhaps Anwar has amnesia. He may want to forget how UMNO leaders in Penang initially reject him as candidate in Permatang Pauh as they felt( how correct the assessment was) that he is too ” opprtunistic” . Out of respect to the position of Abdullah Badawi as UMNO Liason Chief in Penang, they agreed to help Anwar winning Permatang Pauh.

Anwar has qualm in wresting the position from Abdullah. And after repeatedly telling the world not to ask him to contest against Ghaffar Baba, he exactly did that. The simple and plain Ghaffar Baba who successfully brough UMNO to Sabah due to his long lasting friendship with late Tun Mustapha received only 1 nomination from Sabah UMNO divisions. Money they say can blind people.

As one UMNO told me in northen ( Kedah dialect) ” Kalau hang( Anwar) nak sangat jawatan PM, tunggu pilihanraya tahun 5 tahun lagi. Nampak sangat tergila-gilakan kerusi Perdana Menteri”.

  89. Dear shamshul anuar,

How can you agree with MM that he has the constitutiona power to appoint CJ. You need to study LAW, man. Have you hear about the separation of powers in a democrative society? MM is just playing ingnorance. Don’t be full by him. He is a smart man. He is a politicians. He has been playing his cards well over 22 years. In life you can do the good and right thing, the bad and the ulgly. For the good, get credit for them, but for the bad, just don’t get caught. Sorry to say, DSAI got him now.

  90. This old man is very smart with words. He say he quit Umno but doesn’t mean he quit BN. Maybe one day MIC/MCA will open its membership to other races and he will be able to join in. Dont be surprise he will play heart-attack again to get some sympathy. Anyway according to his date of birth, he might expired in 2009.

  91. If the “Minister Mentor” post of giving advice and consultations (such as that for Lee K Y of Singapore) had been created for Tun M after he retired, the acrimonious dispute between Tun M and PL would not have emerged.

  92. “A Prime Minister has the right to appoint a Chief Judge.” shamshul

He certainly has! But could he ignore the opinion of his Cabinet colleagues and recommendation of the Chief Judge, the Conference of Rulers and the Agong who may disagree with his choice of nominee? Should he?

  93. Granted, Shamsul, that DSAI may indeed be, as in the view of your Northerner friend, ‘tergila-gilakan kerusi PM. But then again, who amongst the eligible echelon of elite Malay Umnoputras are not tergila-gilakan kerusi PM? Najis? Kurang Jar? Kerishamuddin? TRH? The only difference is none are more closer to occupying that seat than DSAI. And DSAI will occupy that seat with the support of the majority of young, progressive, far-sighted and well-educated electorate as well as the solid popular vote of Malaysians of all races and religions.

As in any activity that is governed by an act of winning, to be able to literally taste victory spurs a person to greater, more intense efforts, ever punishing drive and commitment as well as an overt demonstration of the desire TO WIN! If that is not interpreted as ‘tergila-gilakan’ kemenangan (hence the PMship), then what in the world could it possibly be?

You recount DSAI’s past like a broken-down record. We have heard it, more than once and from more than just you. You stop short of that watershed in his life when he was set up, beaten and almost left to die from his injuries and ailments, and the subsequent LOSS OF 6 YEARS of living and loving his family and being loved in return…all for what? Answer this honestly as only a fair and honourable human should, then and only then, carefully consider if you should even insinuate that DSAI is less than fit to become PM!

I would rather risk my future with DSAI yang tergila-gilakan kerusi PM on his promise of ‘ketuanan rakyat’ and OPEN, HONEST as well as TRANSPARENT GOVERNMENT than to continue to support the current BN goons who are robbing us blind, you and your children included!

SIX YEARS IN PRISON GIVES A PERSON PLENTY OF TIME TO REFLECT, REVALUE AND REDIRECT ONE’S LIFE!

DSAI for Prime Minister by Sept 16!

  94. 3 out of 3 sir ! But would like to add:

    4. very very worried DSAI become next PM…coz TDM may see the rest of his retirement in Sg Buloh (nearer to RPK) or Kajang (not Kajang Country Heights for sure; but well, he was always a fan of Kajang satay…). Wonder what happened to his ranch in Argentina?

    5. most definitiely do not wish Minister Mentor LKY to pay him a visit while serving time…

In another perspective, during the so called modernisation of Malaysia, TDM has enriched his family well enough for over 3 generations (75 years) while serving as PM for 22 years. PL did that in 4 years!!! Sure angry lah coz PL beat his record by 18 years. TDM cannot accept that PL more smarter actually – ever heard of “the pig eating the lion”? The so called modernisation of Malaysia was more like a grossly error in tax-payers account & nations resource. The modernisation was trying to overshadow the damage done by TDM, that was cleverly maneuvoured. There is a certain caste system working behind the curtains here. We were all blinded by $$$ & forgotten about our basic rights. The rich (including BN politicians) became richer, the middle class having to work their ass off to serve the rich, the poor became poorer so to do the dirty work.

22 years ago, we were all younger & naive. Time to correct an end of an error, let the past be history, allow Malaysia to move forward for our next generation…& we certainly have a lot to catch up. It’s all up to us. Correct?

  95. “//…Here I agree with Tun. A Prime Minister has the right to appoint a Chief Judge…//” -shamshul anuar

It is true – our Constitution vests PM the right to advise King on CJ’s appointment. The issue is how is that right exercised! If one exercises that right based on impartial and objective criteria – the candidate’s professional experience and impartial attitude – no one will question. Rakyat & relevant stakeholders will even say the PM has exercised right wisely. But if one exercises it in a manner to put one’s class mate ’s in top position so that he could in turn pack the bench with judges beholden and partial to the PM to thwart, frustrate and defeat legal and legitimate democratic challenges of one’s political opponents, you mean that’s OK and not the PM’s fault??? Where is the justice, where is the Rule of Law and where is the separation of Judiciary from Executive so necessary for Judiciary to act as bulwark against encroachment and abuse of power by the Executive??

  96. While its true Constitution vests PM the right to appoint CJ, that right should be exercised in good faith based on impartial and objective criteria – the candidate’s professional experience and impartial attitude. Then no one will question. If one exercises it in a manner to put one’s class mate’s in top position so that he could in turn pack the bench with judges beholden and partial to the PM to thwart, frustrate and defeat legal and legitimate democratic challenges of his political opponents, where is the justice, Rule of Law and eparation of Judiciary from Executive so necessary for Judiciary to act as bulwark against encroachment and abuse of power by the Executive??

  97. There is no doubt whatsoever that Tun Dr Mahathir (TDM) could neither understand nor appreciate judicial workings. This was what TDM criticized of the judiciary, “The judiciary says, ‘Although you passed a law with a certain thing in mind, we think that your mind is wrong, and we want to give our interpretation.’ If we disagree, the courts will say, ‘We will interpret your disagreement.’ … We know exactly what we want to do, but once we do it, it is interpreted in a different way.”

TDM then controlled Executive & Parliament. The Judiciary was the third branch/institution that could assert supremacy of law. TDM wanted to subject Courts to Parliament’s will, and by extension his will! You think that is OK ?? In 1988 TDM procured parliament with its 2/3 majority to amend Articles 121 and 145 of the Constitution. These amendments disvested the courts of the “judicial power of the Federation”.

TDM continued his attacks on judiciary until judges could no longer tolerate and they sent a letter to the King saying “All of us are disappointed with the various comments and accusations made by the Honourable Prime Minister against the Judiciary, not only outside but within the Parliament. We hope that all those unfounded accusations will be stopped”

TDM later got Tun Salleh Abas suspended and when other independent judges (Eusoffe Abdoolcader, George Seah, Azmi etc) evinced support that Lord President was entitled to due process of law, he got them removed as well.

shamshul anuar said, “Here I agree with Tun. A Prime Minister has the right to appoint a Chief Judge” – yes he got Tun Hamid Omar, a Mahathir’s and Daim’s schoolmate, to replace Tun Salleh Abas. Hamid later recommended as successor Eusoffe Chin who in turn got Ahmad Fairuz. Lingam came into the picture in Eusoffe Chin ‘s time right though to Fairuz’s. The rest is history…

So how could say ex PM TDM had the right to appoint a Chief Judge – focus of blame should be on Lingam, Fairuz and Tun Eusoff Chin – without looking at context of how the trio got where they were, did what they did as a direct result of TDM exercise – most in legal fraternity would say ‘abuse’ – of that right of appointment?

  98. At that time when Ku Li challenged TDM, the latter won by slim margin 761 votes to Razaleigh’s 718, and remained President. Razaleigh’s supporters argued that the election was tainted and 12 UMNO members filed suit in the High Court, attempting to get a court order for new elections. As part of their evidence, they presented claims that 78 of the 1,479 delegates eligible to vote in the elections were illegal, and that several documents involved in the election had been tampered with. TDM & supporters wanted elections to stand.

This kind of events are milestones in a nation’s life. Who wins will determine the leader, his policies and the course of the country. In such instances, there is an imperative for law – the agreed rules – to be the arbiter of these mighty issues. The running of the course of law interpreted by independent judges is the best way to resolve big issues of day like these. We can’t have judges siding one side!

How can one of the contending parties – who was prime minister – evinced displeasure when Lord President evinced independence by intending to convene the full supreme court of 9 judges to hear the case???

This is from Wikipedia : “Soon after, nine judges sitting on the High Court were reassigned to different divisions; Justice Harun Hashim, alone presided over the UMNO case and ruled that several UMNO delegates had come from unregistered branches of the party. In line with the law, he declared UMNO an illegal society, and thereby dismissed the case of the plaintiffs. Mahathir soon formed a new party, UMNO Baru (New UMNO), to replace old UMNO. Within a year, the suffix “Baru” was dropped, making it just plain “UMNO”.

It is clear that when it comes to political self interest, law & judges can take back seat; party also can take back seat, as shown now when he threatens again to split UMNO by calling senior ministers and members to resign just to cause the fall of Pak Lah whom he is viscerally angry of, never mind how it worked to the interest of Opposition!

What attributes or lack thereof that he complained of present premier were the same attributes he apreciated when he then appointed him deputy. Now there’s change in tune because TDM has changed position from PM to retiree. Everything and everyone (whether PM, rakyat foreign investors) must put his agenda, wish and interest as priority.

Ask the ordinary taxi man, he would say TDM had his day so why ‘kachau’ others now? If he wants to interfere then don’t resign as PM. Don’t talk of those educated and in the know. Most ordinary on the road won’t sympathize with TDM’s way of doing things.

  99. Not putting party’s interest first is one thing, not putting nation’s interest first is another. Just because it serves his narrow personal agenda of ousting incumbent, he goes round the country flashing the racial card, stirring up sentiments on “ketuanan” when the country has just shown in the last election on 8th March that we’re trying to transcend race/religion in voting representatives….In 22 years of his administration, it is an irrefutable record that the country has become very polarised….and now as if that is not sufficient, he wants to aggravate the situation. He does not think of anyone else’s welfare than his own!

  100. “…Tun is upset that no UMNO leaders had ever publicly supported his statement that as a Prime Minister he is entitled to appoint the Chief Judge and he need not give the reason for appointing that person.

Here Iagree with Tun. A Prime Minister has the right to appoint a Chief Judge.” Shamsul Anuar

Of course the old fox will not give the reason for appointing a particular judge, especially if the advice for doing so came from Vincent Tan and VK Lingam.

Mahathir has had this thing in his head that he is infallible, that he is better than anyone else, that the ends justifies the means. Never mind the future, worry about the present. He can’t tolerate fools, and this is another reason why he is going after Badawi who, incidentally, has proven to be so incompetent and has had to rely on a core group of people led by his SIL to run the country. If you disagree with Mahathir, you have to get out of the country. He tolerated corrupt individuals, if these individuals could do a service for him.

No, Mahathir undermined the future and security of this country. He allowed the foundations to rot for short term expediency. He is no better than Marcos, Mugabe, Suharto – all third world despots who ultimately made their countries go backwards.

  101. Mahathir made a certain “shortie” the treasurer of UMNO and also Finance Minister. What did this shortie do ? He started a slew of companies to tackle everything from construction to IPPs, from hotel ownership to property development. Profits were siphoned from these companies, and ultimately led to these companies having to be bailed out through taxpayers’ money. This shortie alienated land for his family – witness the thousands of acres that are now being developed in Johor using companies controlled by one of shortie’s wives. Shortie also used public money to bail out cronies like the former Chairman of MAS.

How much did shortie take from the country ? How much did shortie say he was taking on behalf of UMNO, only for him to turn around and say it was his personally? Mahathir knows, but he isn’t telling.

Shortie now moves around in Africa and in Indonesia, buying up banks.

  102. Then consolidate the banks for listing in London Stock Exchange to cash out???

In the book Daim yang Diam: Sebuah Biographi (Daim the Silent: A Biography), Daim explains his retirement: “I am happy in retirement. It was too heavy a responsibility. In truth, I love the business world. Business is in my blood. I love to make money. I know how to do it. I can do it just by sitting in this chair. On a lucky day, I can make millions.”

How many can?? A Towering Glocal Malaysian?

  103. When Shortie bought a small bank back home and re-labelled it International Bank of Malaysia (IBM), he borrowed money from the local banking market to pay for this bank. Of course he had the funds parked away in Europe, but he wanted to demonstrate that he “needed” to borrow money. To borrow money, he needed to show security. What did he do ? He put up a bank guarantee from Credit Suisse for US$600 million.

Now, we all know that Credit Suisse won’t put up a bank guarantee unless they have security. What Shortie provided as security to Credit Suisse is anyone’s guess.

  104. Mukhriz, Mukhriz, aiyoo, how can you be your father’s son? If you don’t be the first Umno MP to resign from Umno, as urged by your father, how do you expect other Umno MPs and state assemblymen to do so to precipitate a crisis in Umno?

Don’t lah just because you want to hang around to drool for more juicy gravy handouts and to become the next Umno Youth chief, you sacrifice your father’s Umno death wish.

This is the critical time that you father needs your support. He is so used to be cocky because he used to make every VIP submit to him by holding and squeezing their balls.

Marina, Marina, what have you to comment?

  105. Well he could pledge his IBM shares. Earlier he made lots of money. In 1971, he formed Syarikat Maluri Sdn Bhd & developed Taman Maluri, Cheras, rumoured that it made RM500 million, later bought a 30% equity interest in United Estates Project (UEP) now known as Sime Darby–UEP…This not counting spin off’s in Peremba, Wangsa Maju Project, later UEM’s North South Highway – and what about moving and shaking equity market, punting shares in a slew of quoted companies on KLSE – to which he was identified for which there was no capital gains tax? I am sure he punted overseas and counted amongst friends market movers like George Soros & Alan Greenspan. I’m sure you’ve met him – a man of few words, looked you into the eyes, said nothing and you wondered what the hell was on his mind. In Peremba, wore slippers, batik & jeans, commuted in merc 450, seated at the back, placed his foot comfortably in the front chair, driver was so mad (so I heard), jammed the brakes, told him “I resign” walked off in the middle of the road! :)

  106. MM was very upset fr day 1 when the ‘curve’ bridge was called off. Meaning Bodowi has no respect for MM. Also all those who ‘benefited’ fr MM era surely back him, e.g. ‘AP’ queen Rafidah. Remember her phrase? Why? Why? Why? n No, no, no………………bcoz the $$$ is flying away.
MM got no face oledi la………………..

  107. //Mukhriz, Mukhriz, aiyoo, how can you be your father’s son?//- boh-liao

“Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.” – Wisdom of Lebanese poet and writer, Kahlil Gibran.

The archer sees the mark, sends forth the arrow towards the mark, but arrow somewhat got its own thoughts, felt the effect of another mark (the pull of positions & gravy train) and gave excuses that it went another way due to cross-winds… :)

  108. What made Mahathir agree to the bailout of Tajuddin Ramli by buying his MAS shares at RM8 when the prevailing share price was RM 3.65 ? What made Mahathir agree to the “forced” purchase of Timedotcom shares by the EPF at a price significantly above the market price ?

Mahathir and his cronies used the country’s Treasury as their personal piggy bank, to do as they liked.

Whatever the horrible extent of financial corruption, nothing could compare to the corruption of the judiciary, PDRM, the ACA and the AG’s Chambers. The very foundations for democracy were undermined, until we realised that there could be no fairness in the interpretation of the law. Incompetence was tolerated so long as the people concerned could perform a service for UMNO. Financial corruption may not kill the country, but the corruption of the justice system will ultimately bring the country to its knees. We can thank Mahathir for that.

  109. Then came Badawi and his family, who surveyed his kingdom and realised that the Mahathir model should be perpetuated for their own ends. Badawi cancelled projects initiated by Mahathir, but reinstated them for a new bunch of cronies. Badawi has his own cronies who tried to steal land in Penang, proposed new megaprojects and new concessions. Badawi proposed development corridors which all the money in the developing world could not finance.

The rest, as they say, is history. Vote out the den of thieves.

  110. All this talk of Malay rights..I have yet to see any group or individual asking the goverment to actually ,dilute the malay rights in the contitutions ..All i see is this UMNO leaders warning and shouting about it..

Look at the big picture it is UMNO who is shouting about Malay rights.Because UMNO is lossing the support of the Malays and the rakyat. Now there is even of talk that a new political party being set up by members of UMNO.UMNO is more worried of lossing its power.Without the support of the Malays UMNO is as GOOD AS DEAD

  111. ‘Mahathiu’ appeared in a few comments. Is this a typo error for the word ‘Mahathir’?

Assuming it is a typo, we should be more careful before we submit our comments.

Just wondering if it is really a typo or did I miss something?

  112. Godfather, you asked the questions and you know the answers, don’t you? Just for the info of some readers, incase we forget.

MAS RM8.00 was because of the currency differential between Sing and Ringgit. That part of the shares were pledged to a Sing Bank. Coupled with unpaid roll-over interest, it came to RM8.00. It was redeemption cost, not value.

The TimeCom, of course nobody believe the write-up hypes before listing. So EPF took a huge chunk at RM3.20/share. Remember Daim’s reply when asked about the purchase, “If we don’t by it, nobody will.” And to make it attractive, remember they gave free handphone and calls with IPO. (First time in history).

And, are we surprised that AAB and his boys are doing similar things now? Divine intervention, maybe bt 8th Marhc tsunami really screwed up their plans.

  113. Interesting questions being asked indeed and really need to be addressed by Dr M. But knowing him, of course he will be all defensive about it. His actions are like a baby crying out for attention, or indeed trying to cover up his own faults. But Mukhriz so called “betrayal”? Really smart strategy for an attack from all sides to topple Pak Lah. Now I guess the Mahathir family can work inside and outside umno each for their own family’s benefit.

  114. Dear Sdr LKS…and everyone on this blogs,

Looks like the whole country is in a messy state……especially if the truth is revealed.

We, the ordinary folks do not know the whole truth……if it is true.

If what is being written on these threads and on some other popular blogs are true, then the whole country has been fooled for a long, long time.

I prefer to look ahead and not dig the whole `dirty’ past…..or our whole foundation will collapse.

Let us all look forward from March 8th.

China has yet to `criminalise’ Mao…..and Russia has yet to condemn Stalin, Lenin and others……the atrocities of mankind reaches to the Heavens.

I say…..put the past behind and move forward.

Question is….now that we have a good, strong opposition….and the ruling government is hopefully waking up to their senses [that you can’t fool everyone for too long….50 years already]….can they [BN] put their house in order…..if not, by the next GE, we can be sure who will take over.

But for now, can AB hold on with all the cross-fire.

Whatever it is, stability is important….harmony too…..sensibility too…..let us be focused, guided, and calm.

Not shoot arrows at everyone, everywhere……including all our leaders so freely on these threads. Raise your points in a sensible, fair way…..or you will be just like the terrorists……verbal terrorists….on the net.

  115. Finally, Dr M has got the attention of the local media – never have any TV stations or print media given him so much coverage! After this, the production houses should produce a film called ‘The Final Cries of Desperado’.
Some people just don’t know when to call it quits – they have to talk and talk and talk until they make a fool of themselves. What a shame this is our former PM! Pak Lah has conducted himself very well throughout the rantings of the Dr M – indeed a gentleman. And what’s this – Mukriz not leaving UMNO? I thot he’s the obedient son! Haha!

  116. MORE UMNO MEMBERS QUIT UMNO:

Datuk Mokhzani Mahathir, the second child of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, quit UMNO today.

Jalan Badlishah Umno branch chief, Mejar (B) Anuar Abdul Hamid, has also resigned from Umno today.

  117. Ha22 he can’t get all his sons to support him to quit Umno and he thinks the rest will follow him.

I was in Shanghai on Mon and was on a long queue to buy dumplings, sirens whaled across signaling the start of a three day period of mourning at 2.28pm, everybody just stopped and stood still to pay their respect. That’s China when their President gives instruction. While I stood there, I began to think whether we fellow Malaysians will follow the same if our PM or ex PM gives the same instruction.

  118. All this talk about Malay rights by UMNO..What UMNO really meant is UMNO rights. The right to cheat the other Malays.I don,t think UMNO is fighting for the rights of Malays in PAS and KEADILAN.

  119. TDM had a dream. He thought that he was the “Royal Seal” of UMNO. Without that seal, UMNO cannot be part of the government; so he thought. He threatened, he resigned and would not return unless PM AAB stands down. UMNO members fill Stadium Merdeka waiting to shake his hand to hand AAB over in exchange for the Seal.

He was awoken by the 6.1 tremor in Indonesia. Sanusi and hundreds of UMNO memebrs from Mabuk have resigned. Was he in his dream, he wondered. But he submitted his resignation letter to Tengku Adnan. Can he withdraw, would AAB allow the thorn back in the flesh, he wonders.

  120. TDM is testing the water whether he still command support from his former cronies & other UMNO members!!! from here on, he will do whatever possible so that he will not be going to the court or going to court but will not be convicted of any crime!!! Please dont under estimate AAB and all his advisors, they were playing the same game as what TDM played before i.e. using the judiciary process to their advantage since now that RCI confirmed that there’s case to get the five or more to answer in the court!!! We shall see what will happen next, TDM will be back!!!

  121. ChinNA Says:

    Today at 12: 15.02 (2 hours ago)
‘Mahathiu’ appeared in a few comments. Is this a typo error for the word ‘Mahathir’?

I guess Mahathir have many alias nowdays – Mahathiu and Mamakhathir are two of them…

  122. To All My Malay Brothers & Sisters, UMNO is not equate to Malay & Islam, it is just another political party who tries to make it appears as if it is so and continues to be in power to enrich a small group of the UMNO elites i.e. TDM, his family and his cronies when he was in power and now AAB, his family and his cronies!!! What next? Najis, his family and his cronies? etc. etc.

  123. 1. Yes, it is a desperate way to try to save his skin. Lingam Video Clip is a final blow to bankrupt the old fox, TDM’s political credibility. TDM has no cause to fight for anything for the people except his own private agenda. The time is different now and TDM’s threat, cheat and playing with racial sentiment wouldn’t work anymore.

    2. His resignation has very little impact as there is no just cause for relevant people to follow his call. Pak Lah would be happy that he has resigned. Those Umnoputra clowns only follow where power is. Who will follow a miserable 82 year old powerless silly erratic old man who may drop dead anytime? If he drops dead, those brainless coward clowns would immediately become sitting ducks. Who will take such kind of idiotic risk?

    3. Yes, indeed it is! Umno is history. With the awakening of the Malaysian people awareness of the development of politics surprisingly, the opposition appears to have a cause to fight and a vision for a better Malaysia.

  124. Financial corruption may not kill the country, but the corruption of the justice system will ultimately bring the country to its knees. We can thank Mahathir for that.

clap clap clap. seek him, charge him, send him to prison, seek restitutions so that his children have no mean to carry on the ill legacy of their father. Notice it is the master thief who is talking very loud and big in this country. Real monkey.

  125. Malaysiakini (Chinese Edition) reported that a total of 456 UMNO members from two different parts of Kedah had already left UMNO. Some 2,000 UMNO members from Southern part of Petaling Jaya, Selangor had done likewise. Another 2,000 members from Kedah plan to submit a withdrawal letter within the next few days. These people who had left or will leave the party are ordinary members.

  126. When elephants fights the ants that get kill. What is happening in UMNO will effect us all one way or the other.Election is over start working…But then again UMNO elections is just round the corner. This UMNO election will be one of the worse election ever.
If Pak lah lose this election he have .So NAJIB is also on shaky ground..

    So let the fun begin

  127. If not wrong, there are over 3million UMNO members. I would think if only 2million UMNO members leave the party, set up a new one, then it would render the UMNO-Baru (est.1988) slightly crippled.

The other 2million can then set up UMNO-Gen-Baru (est.2008)…man, which other political party in Malaysia has such colourful history to be so proud of? 1948, then 1988, now 2008…next 2048? Every 30-40 years there will be internal combustion in UMNO…Why? Simple: Greed & Power. Root of all Evil in the 20th-21st century worldwide.

It is also quite obvious that the UMNO-Baru that was set up by TDM & his kaki thinks that UMNO-Baru belongs to him; like a sole-proprietorship. What Malay-champions are they talking about? TDM only wants to be the only TUAN to all Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazans, Ibans, Dayaks, etc. He is a power crazy psycho who wants to be emperor of Malaysia. Think about it: the judiciary, the royalty, the police, the APs, Ops Lallang, etc etc. These were all in his plan. Many of us grew up admiring TDM but as we become more politically aware, the admiration has become smoke. One can do many good things to be remembered, but when one do just one bad thing…one will be eliminated.

Khir Toyo remarked that Ketuanan Rakyat equates to republic…he should have referred TDM was planning to do just that by the looks of it & more like dictatorship cum republic. Khir Toyo also probably need to go back to school. Rakyat means Malaysians. Malaysians mean Malays (being the majority), Chinese, Indians, other ethnic groups. Does Khir Toyo mean Rakyat does not include Malays? Too much botox screw up his otak. Malays being the majority are suppose to lead the country. Now can someone tell me the meaning of “lead”? Leading does not equate to ruling.

Anyway, the remaining 1million can either remain in BN or join PR. Wow, imagine all the BN components join PR. That would give it an over 2/3 majority. Any difference to Gerakan moving to BN after 1969? From opposition to alliance. Now it is alliance moving over to opposition, to form the NEW government.

  128. Ordinary UMNO members may leave. State Liaison Chairmen, Division Heads, Delegates and those holding positions in the Government and the party will NEVER the party. You can read my lips. This is how corrupted our system has become.

  129. “When elephants fights the ants that get kill. What is happening in UMNO will effect us all one way or the other.” – Badak

Elephants? They don’t consider him one, that’s why he’s so upset! He’s out of his mind, a sick trouble-maker out to incite racial hatred and within umno with his highly “seditious” remarks. Those within umno who listen to him are bad rubbish just like him.

  130. Tim Sng, KILLER your friend-ah? Shamsul? How about lextcs and wargarmalaysia? Wahlau! You write like, you read like and you seem like Shamshul but because you…whereas the other 3 write like, read like and seem like a ‘strike force’ team.

Hahaha…’don’t criminalise offenders of the past’ is the gist of your lengthy post. Where you been-lah? WATERGATE was based on digging up the past. Now, LINGAMGATE is also ‘digging up the past,’ dey!

All life current and ‘going forward’ is based on the past and how we conducted ourselves in order to illuminate our path into the future-lah, Tim Sng!

‘Let’s send Altantuya’s muderers to hell!’
PAST – THE MURDER COMMITTED WITH C4 THAT ONLY VERY HIGH UP PEOPLE CAN GET ACCESS TO. WHO-AH?

LOOKING FORWARD – THE MURDERERS BEING SENT TO HELL,
where the result, ‘incarceration in hell’ must necessarily be based on the cause in the past, ‘…blew some MONGOLIAN woman to smithereens with C4.’ HOW CAN HAPPEN IN MALAYSIA-LAH?

Don’t you think it is important to know how commoners as well as high-profile individuals are rubbed out when they get in the way of RM530mil-commission deals? Great Hollywood stuff!

Tim, STOP reading MSM – a load of rubbish, hogwash and truth-twisting stuff; read more of these posts…this blog, MK and MT – you will learn a lot. That’s a guarantee. Then, with background, you will NOT be making nonsensical statements anymore.

  131. We can forgive, but the truth has to be exposed and in order to do that, offenders need to be convicted no matter how long it may have had happened e.g. WWII atrocities by the Japanese, Holocaust (genocide of the Jews by the German Nazis) etc etc. . Some Holocaust offenders were arrested and convicted after 60 years later!!!

  132. Abdullah and Anwar are actually colluding to get at their former boss, Mahathir who has been very mean towards them and gave them hell. Now Mahathiu is tasting his own medicine. He is so frighten now that he left UMNO. He is very angry that UMNO can do this ( Lingamgate ) to him. He feels ashamed of his wrong doings. Now the law is after him. To avoid prosecution, he might leave the country. When Anwar becomes PM, it will be worst for him. So he better pray that Abdullah will be the PM for at the least another term. Don’t even think that a new PM will ever save him. It’s too late now.

  133. Actually Mahathir has no more followers. It’s the media that played it up. There is no loss to UMNO and the country. He should have lived a comfortable life as a retiree. Instead he gets himself into a hotsoup every now and then. His son, Mukhriz, will now have to pay for his father’s sins. He will have to suffer inside UMNO youth. His father can no longer protect him.

  134. Main reason for Dr M shocking resignation is because of Lingam scandal, period. That whole world knows. Just few days before the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the VK Lingam video clip has recommended that former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad be investigated.

Is is loud and clear, looks more like resignation in protest of Royal Commision’s decision last week on Lingam’s scandal.

Unfortunately the old man thru his cunning ways claimed that reason for his resignation was UMMO has failed to defence Ketuanan Melayu. Was UMMO failed to defence him and his cronies or otherwise?

AAB and all the non malays in this country is being blamed and he is the hero in defending the country constitution. Hope people in this country is wise enough not to fall into another Dr M’s blunder to stir more racial and political s*** out of the country.

Dr M, people seriously lossing respect with you! AAB still not too bad after all.

  135. Do not underestimate the strength of Pak Lah in the game plan of UMNO politics. Many critics like to downplay him as a sleeping beauty or Bodoh, However, he appears now to be the one who holds the trump card and yet look innocent.

Chinese has a saying, “In disguise as a pig but eat tiger” Obviously he has now played and slashed this cunning and crooked tiger of the country for twenty two years under his thumb and is toeing the line of balancing the power both within and outside UMNO.

Let’s recap what happen in this power drama.

    1. How the hell that Pak Lah could hibernate in such a way that the then strong tiger, TDM could completely believe in him and appoint him as a successor? DPM was a very keen competitor but lost, even a clever person like Anwar also lost. Amazing, isn’t it?

    2. Released Anwar and disintegrated the strong base of the TDM’s cronies Within UMNO. Obviously, TDM’s ex-cronies have been tamed and silenced like shivering mice. How many has responded the TDM’s call for resignation as a member.

    3. To a certain extent, he let the Malaysian people believe that he is democratic in spite of the big loss of BN, he accepts it and tries to work a way out to restructure UMNO. He has tamed DPM very well such that the tiger TDM was so furious and scolded him a coward openly.

    4. TDM’s power and influence is completely dissolved with a final straw of quitting UMNO. Now, Whatever UMNO does is theoretically nothing to do with TDM.

    5. Who knows? TDM could be trial and put to jail, or drop dead of a heart attack! Feng Sui keeps in rotation, and now TDM has his day!

Chinese has a saying, “Big intelligence, but looks stupid”

  136. To futher reform and strengthen UMNO, the leaders must instil discipline in the party and punnish Muhkriz for his kurang ajar attitude. The leaders in UMNO have to show that they are serious in rebuilding UMNO and sideline those recalcitrants. As for Mahathir’s resignation, it is a blessing in disguised for UMNO. So UMNO can now focus on rebuilding and strengthening. Let Mahathir be punnished by the law for his misdeeds.

  137. > 2. Released Anwar and disintegrated the strong base of the TDM’s cronies Within UMNO.

Does this mean that the courts in boleh listen or act according to the wish of the prime minister? When we have the next prime minister, he needs to set up a commission to investigate the previous prime minister? This may become a tradition

  138. I have yet to view the video etc, but am against abusive language on these threads, racist comments and distorting names of leaders.

Let their names be respectively Mahathir, Badawi, Najib, Karpal, Anwar.

I fully support a true clean up of the judiciary, police and government. After that, what do we have left?

Perhaps, some strands of lalang? This will be the real Operation Lalang!!

In the meantime, if we use abusive language, are we not the same as those we are throwing `stones’ at?

  139. Private company going for outsource because of lowering the cost of operation.

BUT Privatisation is meant for lowering the purchasing power of rakyat; and at the same time benefited only a few persons who can afford to fly around with helicopter and yet all the rakyat still hang on with their motor cycle with problem on petrol cost and annual insurance premium!!!!!!!!

  140. Obviously, if the judiciary system and the executive power is not separated, the prime minister has the power to manipulate the court procedure such as what TDM did. Those judges were manipulated in for the executive power as reflected in Lingam Tape. Remember justice not only needs to be done but also seen to be done. It is difficult to convince people now that Anwar went to jail that was not due to manipulation.

In the power struggle, the winner is a king and the loser is a thief. Once the power is lost, TDM and his cronies are thieves of the country coffer. They have to be investigated and brought to court, though late but better than never. That explains why the corrupted leaders in the third world country would never step down for the reason as explained. Usually it needs a coup d’etat to pull them down like in Africa. In our case, it is not too bad, officially TDM stepped down on his own will, but according to one of PKR’s report, it was a manipulation that he was pulled down. If it is a tradition to investigate those who had been in power, it is not that bad. Just to remind those in power to behave themselves while they are still in power, or otherwise…

Thinking that Pak Lah was tame and his cronies were strong, TDM chose him as a prime minister to be a puppet PM. However, he miscalculated as out of nowhere, the SIL came to the picture. Well, if one is an Oxford graduate, he won’t be very far off. If one thinks he is smart in manipulation, somebody else will be better. This is how the world is made; the hind wave is always pushing the front wave. I read it from somewhere that the SIL already said in his student day that he wanted to nail TDM some day.

By releasing Anwar was a smart move, as he is clever, an insider in the game, and the result is outstanding, TDM’s cronies, yes man clowns have been tamed and silenced. Apparently, Pak Lah appears to be a good man, a typical Malay gentleman, he never attacks his own party and own people and has established great resilience to attack whilst TDM [deleted] keep barking for his own agenda. After all, one needs time to unscrew a 22 years screw up.

The reason we don’t want to put in real names for these people as well as ours is obvious; we do not want to entangle ourselves in the law suit of defamation or seditious act or any shutting your mouth acts; We are just common people trying to make a living and at the same time we want to express our view which is our right anyway.

    ————————————————————–
I really don’t understand what you mean by that? To run a country, is not just managing the judiciary, police etc… Needless to say there are so many other things to be done or changed especially after after the country have been mismanaged for 22 years. PM Abdullah has already made many changes for the better and he knows there is still more to be done if not for the hindrance of certain powerful figures around.

  142. Adoi, Tim, where you REALLY BEEN-ah?

If you are RPK, you can name names and be bold enough to mention the names in context of what you are revealing on the shenanigans in the corridors of power. Even then, RPK gets slapped with sedition act! If you are NOT RPK, you would be utterly dumb to use the real names, and even dumber to air your dissatisfaction about anything as ‘sensitive’ when you have little knowledge of the workings of the long arm of the law. Remember, it was TDM who said sometime ago that Malaysia is a ‘police state’?

You didn’t view the tape, you don’t read RPK, you don’t really follow the discussion threads in this blog and so far, all you have said is ‘…don’t make nonsensical statements…and ‘…be polite…’

…while you, as a citizen of this country, are being robbed blind by the system and even as such injustices as the Altantuya case unfolds before you. That’s only one. Care to know more?

Anyway, the names used here are quite amusing, really. Quite often, absolutely apt reflections of the people they refer to.

Here’s something you can amuse yourself with – go find out the REAL name of KILLER, and post a reply to him by his real name.

  143. Separatist , he was 20 years ago, and still in his 80’s.
His achivements, bought a good name for himself at the expense of others.

Still adamant and powerful , for how long more i wonder.
But gums are weak now, it time to go , old chap you done yourself great, lets forget and go horsing lah,
the horsey will not know whose ass is on his back.
