“Beggar Minister” finally admits

“Position of BN component parties like beggars” is the headline of today’s Sin Chew Daily exclusive interview with former Gerakan President Datuk Seri Dr. Lim Keng Yaik, with a secondary headline: “Not given equal respect – Lim Keng Yaik”

Keng Yaik, who is now Gerakan adviser, told Sin Chew that Barisan Nasional component parties like MCA, MIC including Gerakan ended up with status like that of “beggars” as they were not given equal position in the Barisan Nasional.

He criticized BN for not treating its component parties equally. He stressed that although Malay special rights are protected under the Constitution, the non-Malays also clearly enjoy their own rights.

This is a gem of an admission from Keng Yaik, who had been a Cabinet Minister for 22 years from 1986 to 2008.

MCA, Gerakan, MIC and other BN component parties had long been criticized for accepting “beggar politics” in the Barisan Nasional and Cabinet.

When did Keng Yaik discover that he had been a “beggar Minister” for 22 years? After his political retirement and the March 8 political tsunami?

During the 2008 general election campaign, Keng Yaik went all out to campaign for Dr. Koh Tsu Koon to replace him as the Gerakan “beggar Minister” in Cabinet and to send his son, Lim Si Pin to be a “beggar” MP in the Malaysian Parliament.

Why had Keng Yaik been so blind that he was blissfully unaware for more than two decades that he had been a “beggar Minister” for 22 years, with the scales coming out of his eyes only after the March 8 “political tsunami”?

  1. To think about it further.. May be a beggar is not a bad choice after all.

A beggar of choice but not circumstances! I for sure would not want to be a beggar of circumstances and I cannot imagine the life by dragging my 2 poor sons around begging for 3 meals.

If I can be beggar of choice, i might consider sending my 2 poor sons who has autism to be one too. BUT>>>>>> Not this kind of beggar of choice… NO NO..

  2. Lim keng yaik statement is too little , too late.

When Mr. Lim Keng Yaik was enjoying all the trappings of power, all the priviledges and benefits of a Minister, i remember you have insulted the estates workers.

We ,the raayat was ‘ BEGGING’ THAT our voices be heard, but where were you. Go and retired somewhere in an island south of the equator, that no one knows you. SHAME ON YOU.

    YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW.

Now is for Mca and Mic to be among the beggars or still dreaming.

Beggars have to work also, Mr.LimKeng Yaik. They are Beggars have to sell tissues , play the bongo, and stay under the hot sun for pittance. Even calling yourself a beggar is an INSULT TO THE REAL BEGGARS.

PARASITES WILL BE THE BETTER DEFINATION OF YOURSELF. AND YOUR CRONIES.

  3. Dear YB,

For as long as BN is in self denial mode, the reduced strength of the remnant MCA, MIC, Gerakan, etc cannot champion their party’s cause to the rayaat. They continue to sing the same BN tune which is all rhetorics ! They will need to break away from BN & UMNO to convince the rayaat & really “Walk their Talk”. Talk is Cheap, anyone can do it ! So it is Check-mate !

  4. “Position of BN component parties like beggars” from Lim Kheng Aik : – Is that mean there’re the most riches beggar after all?

All others ordinary Rakyat is suffering while national wealth holders were ruled by themselves.

  5. No wonder there was not developement in Beruas (where LKA as MP for so many terms) so far! We feel cheated cause LKA bluff us with Vision Beruas but in reality we are begger all the times!

  6. All UMNO gives to the other component parties are crumbs. Some parties don’t even get invited to the main table. It’s time people like Ong Ka Ting recognise the fact as well, and stop living in denial.

  7. This admission was only possible because this guy already left the government, other wise he would not admit it even though deep inside his heart he knew it. The same apply to MCA and MIC, they are all beggars’ part with difference name.

Let be honest, if you all can not serve the people because of the non equal treatment why should you still keep to the notion that fighting from inside, fighting from inside. Don’t you reallise 50 years has been too long.

Let face it even your Big Boss party has been spit by many many, yet you still want to remain a beggar party. Time to ponder hard, Dr. Lim. Time for you give some sensible advise to your party other wise it is better to shut the mouth.

  8. What Keng Yaik is trying to say is that beggar parties steal less than the Ketuanan party. Or that beggar parties are given cabinet portfolios that have far fewer chances of making money compared to the Ketuanan party.

Time to abandon ship. Moaning about it isn’t going to make the Ketuanan party change its stripes.

  9. It is so good for Dato Seri Lim to come clean. Such admission must be very difficult for him to make. I hope that all his former non-UMNO Barisan colleagues will also think over what Dato Seri Lim has said. Do they all wish to continue to be ” beggar parties? ” or will they take the bold and correct stand to ” unbeggar ” themselves?

  10. BN suffered a major setback in the 12th General Election because in the BN coalition: MIC + MCA + GERAKAN + UMNO = UMNO (i.e. there is no such a thing as BN, voting MCA is no different from voting UMNO).

In the PR coalition: DAP + PAS + PKR = PR, i.e. there is a fair share of power among the 3 members.

  11. hahahahaha

be a blogger better than be a beggar

at least LKY realised it, although pretty late, but better than never. Gerakan was so strong when they are not with Um-NO. But i think “Ong Kata Nothing” and “Semi-Value” will still prefer to protect their rice bowl, eventhough like a beggar. Leaders are like coward. How to success? Better go and join the seminar and learn how to become a leader

  12. Component parties within BN, apart from UMNO, have been “beggars” all along, otherwise, MCA would not be claiming “credit” that they “fought for this” and “fought for that”. Can you imagine being a component party in BN, MCA still need to “fight for its rights”. This clearly tells the people MCA, MIC, Gerakan, PPP are nothing but “second class” component parties within the BN.

If at all AAB or UMNO takes these component parties as true partners, why should they be “fighting”. What AAB has announced before GE12, the “at par” policy, was nothing but a plot to misguide the Chinese and Indians in Malaysia. He was seen hugging OKT on one side and Semi-Value on the other when the picture was taken. He thinks that such propaganda can “deviate” the people’s perception but he was wrong. The people are not blind and they were able to see what UMNO was up to. Indeed his famous “Saya pantang dicabar” made him an absolute tyrant!!!!

  13. Wow! Keng Yaik has suddenly seen the light?!
Well as advisor to Geraken he should sdvice Gerakan either to join the “PR” or quit the BN altoghther.
Can he be charged under the “Sedition Act”?

  14. Dear Mr Lim Keng Yaik,

After working for 22 years as ‘BN beggar’, now only you realise Gerakan has no place in BN and treated like scumbag? Why didn’t you make things right before your retirement? When has Gerakan spoken up for the rakyat regarding BN injustice and inequality in Parliament so far? Just some noises after the iron has cooled down referring to the many issues of Federal Constitution raising in 2007.

Please lah Datuk, for you it is too late. Main reason is Gerakan lead by your goodself and Toh Tsu Koon always seen as ‘BN beggar’ and ‘BN yesman’ where words louder than action. In another words, tok kok more than taking action is Gerakan’s Motto, that everybody knows.

But for Toh Tsu Koon it is still not too late if the latter after suffering for 8 March 2008 Gerakan’s landslide defeat able to pick himself up, learn from the mistakes, turn around and join the coalition of Pakatan Rakyat.

Gerakan still have some hope if the leaders able to look back at the party history ie prior to 1969 and beyond 2008.

  15. What an ironic. Kah Ting is now becoming more vocal and now we have Keng Yaik. These guys should have known it. Here is the hilarious part of what what these BN components parties really are – found at (kayankneyah.org forum):

    PRS – Party Rosak Sendiri
SPDP – Sama Palau Dalam Pub / Saya Punya Dia Punya
PBDS – Dahun hivan iha tih party pano’ pedeng sediri. (don’t understand what is this either – Kayan language perhaps)
SUPP – Selalu Untung Punya Party
    MIC – Mesti Ikut Cina
MCA- Mesti Cari Akal (akal – i local slang for tipu)
PBB – kelo ilau ke…… (don’t understand what is this either – Kayan language perhaps)
SNAP -..kelo ilau sediri. (don’t understand what is this either – Kayan language perhaps)

  16. Better a ‘ live’ beggar than a ‘dead’ opposition without access to the UMNO gravy train. That seemed to be LKY’s philosophy in politics. Well, we now have a very much alive opposition in Parliament. And a dying Gerakan faced with Hobson’s choice. What now LKY, WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE other than to prepare for political oblivion? This is a very sorry state of affairs for a party founded on multi racial ideals but gave it all up to be a beggar at the UMNO banquet. How much did you contribute to Gerakan’s pending demise? Do some more soul searching and breast beating.

  17. How often we hear people say, “If you can’t beat them, you join them!”

I suggest MCA and GERAKAN join PR since they admit (albeit tacitly) they could not beat PR.

Chus Sui Lek said the 12 non-UMNO BN members should form a coalition to counter UMNO’s bullying influence in BN. I think his idea will not work. Even if the 12 member coalition is formed, in no time, it will be punished by the authoritarian UMNO. Why not MCA leave BN and join PR which is a proper independent opposition party.

  18. What LKY said, is 22 years late?

If BN still retained two thirds majority and did not lose the four states to PR, will the ‘Beggar’ minister say the same thing….

LKY stopped all your wayang kulit….

  19. BEGGARS in your own land.

LIM KY found out too late, fine, but what about from today onward? Are we still begging for places in University, scholarship, government service etc? Look around, which NON-Malay can operate a Petronas Station? Which non Malay can get contract on Nasional Service work (that killed 18 innocent youngsters)? Which non-malay can obtain contracts in Putra Jaya? Which non-malay can register as PKK contractor and supplier with MOF? The list goes on and on.

Beggars in the past, but would we continue to be beggars in our own land?

  20. Keng Yaik,

You are nothing but a gutless man. Why now only you bring this up? You should have stood up many years ago rather than now.

Your time has passed. Spend your retirement ranting at some coffee shop instead.

  21. Don’t be deceived. Some “beggars” say they are “beggars” but in actual fact they are filthy rich, driving big and expensive cars, live in posh houses, eat filthy rich foods…….. they didn’t mind the handouts and other benefits.

Their complains are actually because they want some more, much, much more. Never enough for them.

  22. Lemming suicide is a frequently-used metaphor in reference to people who go along unquestioningly with popular opinion, with potentially dangerous or fatal consequences. This is the theme of the video game Lemmings, where the player attempts to save the mindlessly marching rodents from walking to their deaths.

  23. Classic quotes from MCA, SUPP and MIC:
We are not like the opposition who shout and make demands. We quietly consult behind the scenes and resolve the matter quietly. Meaning we beg and beg out UMNO, PBB masters to give an inch.

  24. Ongkating and Sami Vloo. it is still not late to pour out your heart.
Rich beggar like LKY and Tun M has done it.

Sun Tzu Art of war says.
When the enemy in commands,kow-tow and be respectful. And when the enemy is no more in control, show your guts!

BTW, what happen to kayeas, the PPPukian President?Still holding on the postkah?

  25. YB,

We no need to make big ho ha here !!

Pls ensure PR members working relationship in good term and all states in PR needs to be well managed. MCA , MIC and Gerakan will be no choice to join PR in next GE.

    Rgds

  26. Beggar in front of umno, but robbers in front of the people.

Please never take these rotten BN pieces into Pakatan!! You should get only upon careful selection. Only highly qualified persons may switch!

  27. Now LKY is telling the half Truth, he should tell the whole truth and to admit that he continued to stay in BN and as beggar not because he wanted “to change from within” the rotten system but rather because he wanted to stay in BN to “dig from within” & enjoy all the goodies that come with the position that he was in!!!! In Chinese saying, this is the running dog for the master, people without backbone!!! but he is not stupid or gila on appearant, he might not be happy to be beggar, but when he thought of the goodies that he can enjoy and the contracts that he can award to his people, he stayed put!!! SHAME on you LKY (SHAME X MC2 on you for having the same initial as LEE KUAN YEW whome I admire!!!)

  28. Uncle Lim, be extremely careful who the PR accepts into its fold.
It takes just one rotten apple or egg to spoil the whole barrel.
Under no circumstances should anyone with a dubious character be accepted.

  29. “dig from within” should be “digging gold from within” and make them theirs. The gold belongs to the Rakyat!!!
I believe LKY came to realisation now because he is blogging now instead of begging and exposed to so much rots which he might think only happening to him when he was in power!!!
LKY’s Datuk Seri ship may be revoked soon and his Tan Sri or Tun ship will be in jeopardy since now he no longer wants to be a beggar!!!

  30. Chinese saying “Lang Zi Hui Tou Jin Bu Huan” – “Repentance of a vagabond is worth more than gold”, but what MCA and Gerakan are doing now is simply too late. Had they realized their mistakes years before, they would not have suffered the fatal blow during GE12. But do you expect MCA or Gerakan to repent? They have been such cowards that they have been made eunuchs to UMNO. Once “castrated”, how can they become MAN again?

  31. To all MIC MCA GERAKAN PPP IPF and UMNO members..If you want your race to have an equal say in the goverment,JOIN Any OPPOSITION PARTIES.
Open your eyes .. UMNO is not fighting for you. All this talk about KEKUATAN MELAYU which is coming from UMNO is all bullshit.Infact what they mean is KEKUATAN UMNO.So that they can carry on milking the country dry..REMEMBER OUR CRUDE OIL IS FINISHING FAST ..If you don,t care now..Please think of the future of your children and grandchildren

  32. It has never been a secret that MCA, MIC and Gerakan are beggars in the fold of BN. Even without LKY telling and spilling his saliva over this, it was never a secret. Umno is just too powerful and all these “cacing” parties are just there as toy boys for UMNO to play around and putting a false front of the “Power Sharing Concept” which they lied to us and UMNO took this to lie to the world.

UMNO is just too powerful for them. There is no way they can withstand the might of UMNO. They have 2 choices NOW. Either they take Chua Soi Lek’s advice to unite themselves as one component party or leave Barisan. The latter is a better choice but the former is a good political strategy for the present political scenario as it is a “it’s now or never type of opportunity”.

  33. Lim Keng Yaik doesn’t fit the definition of beggar. He is a eunuch in the BN dynasty. They are just like the eunuchs in the last Ching Dynasty of China. Their master treated them like dogs. They are eunuchs by choice because they can use their positions to exploit the people especially people of their own race in order to enrich themselves and enjoy the privileges accorded to them. Similarly, all the ministers and BN representatives from MCA, Gerakan, MIC, SUPP and PPP are all eunuchs. The reason they still want to stay in BN is because once you become a eunuch you cannot un-eunuch yourself.

  34. We are all beggers except the UMNOputras, remember the student who get 9 As for his SPM and was not awarded a scholarship? He and the rest of the Non Bumi must “BEGGED” for the scholarship.

How ironic! many of these student beggers will one day become one of the best in other countries but not in their motherland.

  35. Finally L.K.Y. have burned his ass…belate better than never…this show’s atleast you are not traitor of Chinese.
Why must he lead our Chinese to behave like beggars at the first place???In terms of civilization and culture we are much longer, isn’t it? I am sorry perhaps he didn’t read much in the historical books..or maybe he did not do research much about our origins…
Well, I assume Kah Ting will be soon acting soon instead of leading his party to sandquick.
Remember, Malaysia will not be Malaysia if there is no Chinese, Indian and Malay in our Merdeka. So, it is for all!

  36. LKY gave the impression that it was a great new discovery that non-Umno BN components are treated as serfs/slaves/beggars by Umnoputras.

Please lah, leaders of non-Umno BN components knew this all along and willingly become serfs of Umnoputras, as long as they receive some crumbs from Umnoputras (like appointed as ministers, deputy ministers, etc; given some fanciful titles; given access to lucrative business deals; etc).

The rakyat are not dumb – they can see that Umnoputras, the masters, have kept a variety of tail-wagging dogs at their command and waiting for some crumbs from their masters.

  37. Could Ong Ka Ting, Lim Keng Yaik, Samy Vellu, Kayveas and all their predecessors answer the following question.

If MCA, Gerakan, MIC and PPP have represented the non-malays for the past 50 years and the non-malays now find themselves in ‘Beggarsland’, in their own country, whose fault is it? Who are the ones who have let the non-malays down? Who have betrayed the non-malays by selling out their interests for positions and self-interests?

If it takes 50 years for these politicians to wake up to the fact and they still prefer stay where they are in the BN, what type of people are they? If they have no dignity, we would like them to know we the non-malay populace have. We would like to remind them – ‘We want to keep our dignity”!

Wonder if Keng Yaik is for real! He says the BN component parties are ‘beggars’ in the BN coalition and yet he still wants to perpetuate the humiliating and abusive relationship:-
    > he put his own son to take over the seat he vacated;
    >

  38. dont mind being a beggar when one can, with his position, enrich others immensely at the expense of the state ( ie rakyats coffers) .
Patrick Badawi must be cursing God for the tsunami. Well, Koh and the gang have lot to explain by their actions.

  39. Please dont take LKY words laterally, when he said they are beggars in the govn. , he actually meant HIGH CLASS BEGGARS who wear branded suits, shoes, cars, watches, cars with drivers, eating and sleeping at 5 Stars hotels (3 Star motel maybe, only when they wanted to meet their mistress in somewhere convenience) and not those beggars on the streets or at Pasar Malams!!! Got it!!! lest he had “spun” our heads into believing him and the same gang that they had fought for us by begging the Umnoputras!!! Fat hope!!!

  40. U-turn??!??!

    What a ‘kung-fu joker’!!!

I wonder what Tsu Koon and Si Pin are thinking right now!!!

This is very HEALTHY for Pakatan Rakyat!

You should keep it up Mr. Beggar!

  41. You have to understand the context. These guys from MCA and Gerakan comes from the towkay or associated towkay class. So they imagine early in their livest that they should not have to be beg for anyone since they are suppose to be towkays with people begging from them instead.

But instead, they spend their lives begging from people their fathers thought would be working for them. After they go meet their ancestors, how to account to them the shame they have brought on to their family name?

The excuse for Gerakan when it was founded was it was suppose to be multi-racial when it fact it was just factionalism of the Chinese. They have always been hypocritical from day 1 including finally crawling back to BN after May 13 when their stupidity was a main cause of it and led to disaster for non-Malays in this country. These guys think they can fool people all of the time.. UMNO should learn from their mistake of being inconsitent with what they stand for. You CAN’T FOOL PEOPLE ALL THE TIME..

  42. Could Ong Ka Ting, Lim Keng Yaik, Koh Tzu Koon, Samy Vellu, Kayveas and their still living predecessors of the MCA, Gerakan, MIC and PPP please answer the questions:-
If they and their parties have represented the non-Malays for the past 50 years and the non-Malays now find themselves in “Beggarsland’, whose fault is it? Whose blame is it? Who have been hook-winking them? Who have sold out the non-Malays’ interests for personal power, positions and money?
One wonders if Keng Yaik is for real? If he is really awaken to the truth, why does he still want the Gerakan to stay on in such a humiliating and abusive relationship? Why did he condemn Lee Kah Choon so vigorously? Why does he still continue to attack the PR people when they trying to do things differently from what the BN component parties have been doing? Why is he not advising the Gerakan to leave the BN? Why did he ask his son, Si Ping, to choose to stay in the Gerakan?
This statement from Keng Yaik is the clarion call – a call to all non-Malay parties to abandon the BN! Since it’s Keng Yaik who made this brave statement first, Gerakan should be the first party to make the break!
This statement is also a wake-up call to all non-Malays. It’s a call for all non-Malays to stop voting the BN! Have nothing more to do with the BN!

  43. The statement by Lim Keng Yaik may be late, but it is better late than never. We believe all along that these BN subsidiaries are beggars, but it is nice that LKY confirms it now.

We wonder, however, whether they begged more for themselves or for the people they said they represented.

From the statements of the past ministers I am convinced that they have a brain to differentiate between right and wrong. Their silence all along is intriguing. Were they not able to think while there were serving as ministers, or they had to be dumb just to remain as ministers?

Samy Vellu and Ong Ka Ting will no doubt agree with LKY. Having enjoyed the position of affluence at the expense of their communities, they should repay the communities by doing the right thing. LKY had pointed the ways, and the three of them should get together. Get out of BN if necessary.

  44. These are beggars who don’t care if Umnoputras bugger off the rakyat and who beg:
give me, give me, give me Datuk Seri-ship
give me, give me, give me Tan Sri-ship
give me, give me, give me a rich share of the North-S-E-West economic corridors.

They enjoyed and benefited from the beggar lifestyle and encouraged their children to follow suit (and felt very sore that the rakyat did not elect their children to be the next generation of beggars).

  45. Attention all BN component party members. You have been called running dogs, enunch, beggars, robbers, parasites, slaves for selling out the very group you are suppose to represent in order to renrich yourself. You truly deserve all these and you are lucky when the rakyat sees you they do not spit into your face. You deserve worse. But your luck won’t last for very long. Now there no more crumbs from fat contracts dished out by the corrupted government to UMNOputra and gang. So stay in the stinking hole of parties you call MCA, MIC, Gerakand and rot. I like to see how many members you have left in 5 years time. You are really the cause of the way minority groups of being treated in the country.

  46. I am not impressed by Mr.Lim Keng Yaik who is suffering from “SELF INFLICTED PITY” disease.

    dear kanthanboy,

Since Mr. Lim is a medical doctor, he can diy self stitch and be un- eunuch. BUT,He has nothing to offer to Pakatan Raayat. Application form rejected on sight.

You boys and girls are so very polite for someone who had robbed the raayat for twenty two years. (one generation) . But we are polite people anyway.

    dear boh-liao,

what do you call the son of a beggar.? a bugger.?

  47. As the Chinese saying goes, when the tree fell, all the monkeys of the tree will flee!!! i.e. when there’s problem with BN now, all the followers will jump ship!!! PR dont need to buy or entice BN MPs to cross over, they will cross over when they jolly good know that BN is going to disintegrate in no time!!! It is time for PR to work out how to manage our beloved country when taking over the federal govn. !!!

  48. Cracks in BN unity widening in Sabah, Sarawak

Yong will leave first. Dompok is sure to follow. These two fellows also pulled PBS out of BN the last time.

The big news from Kalabakan is the fact that many schools there have no tables and chairs. The children and teachers are sitting on the floor.

When the pictures hit the papers, Hishamuddin quickly released RM15 million to buy tables and chairs. They have been asking for the same thing for years, according to the newspaper reports.

  49. If LKY thinks he’s a beggar, than let him be. But he must not forget that he’s much worst than a beggar, because a beggar really begs for his daily needs, in the most humble manner possible. But this ‘beggar’ does not beg, but he ‘plans’ and ‘cheat’ the rakyat’s coffer. This rich beggar ought to be shot!!!!! He’s not welcome anywhere until he learns to shut his big gap. He got no principle, he got no humbleness, he got no guts until now. Too late, isn’t it???? Anyway, he is a total beggar that is worst of the worst. I remember once he commented on TV, that if the ruling party should lost in any future general elections, he will immediately ‘lompat’ or ‘katak-over’ to the new ruling party – mainly to garner a new position or whatever post he will consider begging for. Really thick-skinned this fellow. He really have no shame. Now that he is out of politics, I just don’t know where he find the guts to comment such statement at his former colleagues and/or ruling partners. [deleted]

  50. Although it’s too late for KY, but it’s better than never. At least, as an adviser for Gerakan, he can advise Dr. Koh to take the bold step of pulling out from BN, and then join the PR. And he has to act fast, as otherwise Gerakan will become irrelevant to the Malaysian political scene.

  51. Gerakan all these while famous as NATO party aka No Action Tok Only. Gerak stands for shaking hard penakut like potitukus.

Party which is similar to a coconut tree in Pulau Tikus which has no identity and cannot speak up when time to speak up and prefer to bend with the wind causing landslide defeat of Gerakan in Penang. If Koh Tsu Koon continues to adopt the same political game hinding behind the old man dare not speak the truth and stand up for righteousness, his party will be soon be non-existance in the coming days.

  52. Actually we, the Non-Malay, have known what is going on in the BN for a long time. Only difference now is that an ex-minister has been forced to admit it for the sake of survivorship of his party.

When the BN component parties that are supposed to represent/protect us are beggers, who are we, the Non-Malay rakyat?

I used the term Non-Malay because Malays & Bumiputra are different. Iban, Bidayuh, Kayan, Kadazan, Dusun, etc are bumiputras, but to them, they are only 2nd Class Bumis. The rest of us are only 2nd class citizen……..as far as BN government is concern.

MPs from Sabah & Sarawak, please do something. Give PR a chance. Give all Malaysian a CHANCE to be truly Malaysian. Discard the Master – Begger status to Malaysian.

  53. While the going was smooth AKA beggars politics with Penang as its Political base , everything was forgotten. When the people realised that Gerakan and Company is a useless Govn, they thus booted them out of Penang, with their political base of Penang gone for good. LKY had this idealist dream dig out from his buried grave. Would the people of Penang still believe in HIM?

  54. Boy: Dad, what’s politics?

Dad: Let me set an example with our family. I have all the money so we’ll call me the management. Mom receives most of it so we’ll call her the government. We’ll call the maid the working class, you are the people, and your baby brother is the future. Do you understand now son?

Boy: I still don’t understand dad.

Dad: Think about it for a while son.

That night the boy wakes up because his baby brother is crying. He goes in and finds out he’s soiled his diapers. He goes to tell his mom but she’s asleep he goes in to the maids room but she’s in there having sex with his dad. He bangs on the door but no one can here him.

    The next day…

Son: Dad I understand politics now.

Dad: Good, explain it to me in your own words son.

Son: The management is screwing the working class while the government’s fast asleep. The people are being ignored and the future is full of SHIT!

  55. DR. Lim is always seen to be an eloquent speaker, especially combining with his smoked saliva. He has been talking furiously for the past 22 years, but only today he is telling the true. The worst thing was he also brought his son into this beggar’s party.

His son will do better if he joint the ancient Chinese’s warriors party call ” Kai Pang”. At least the members of ” KAI PANG” fight for people’s justice and they actually did not really go out and beg. They wear and eat moderately like beggars but they save the money for the poor.

Let dissolve GERAKAN and all Convert to,” KAI PANG” NOW

  56. I have no words to describe this man. What are people like him really made off. The writing on the wall was there and everyone could see it.He must have been blind. The PR party must never accept any of these turncoats as they are now looking to see if they could do their wayang kulit again

  57. There is lots of difference between politicians in power/holding positions and those that do not. Those no longer in power or not holding any position of substance should be cast into garbage bin for good. There is not need to highlight, quote and comment on whatever they said. They are just smelly garbage.

  58. Finally i hear something right uttered by LKY….but is he smart enough to realise this after 22 years serving as a BEGGAR?…perhaps he made the fool out of himself….someday u’ll see OKT utter that too…hope its not too late..

  59. This was what i wrote earlier in another blog on Mahathir. After finishing reading, you may want to compare with what that loud mouth Keng Yaik is talking now – yes garbage, nothing but garbage!

If there is anything worth criticising, it is the way politicians and ex-politicians going about putting forth arguments on current issues of the day. It really amazes me they could be so patronising thinking that we Malaysians are all idiots.

Take the Linggam tape episode as an example. Tun Dr. Mahathir said and I quote: “As to the video taping of VK Linggam, one should ask why this is done. Isn’t it because of the intention to blackmail?”

So, the whole Lingam tape episode is now about blackmailing, never mind that the tape has allegedly depicted misconduct and judge fixing. Never mind that there could be judicial appointments being brokered in the past and as a result the independence and impartiality the Judiciary have suffered irreparable damage. All these seem lesser evil than blackmailing that Mahathir is presently concerned with. Isn’t this a perverted logic?

If we carry this argument a little further, how does accusation of blackmailing fit into the whistleblower legislation presently being contemplated by the government? After all, what is the function of whistleblowers and why the need to protect them? It is essentially to encourage insiders to report and disclose wrong doings and abuse of power/position that may otherwise go undetected.

I really can’t see the logic of blackmailing in the realm of public administration or government decision-making. In all official functions, there should be no fear of blackmailing if the tasks were carried out dutifully and responsibly. It is only those that work “hand in glove”, those that abuse, subvert, and corrupt that will accuse others of blackmailing. Are we not glad that Linggam’s conversation with whoever was taped and now exposed? I drag to think of the state of judiciary of this country if there was such an incident but no one has taped it or such a tape was destroyed before the public come to know about it.

  60. To LKY,
Hei..old man, don’t ever try to do something which is meaningless and to make the condition more worst. You better shut-up your mouth and let PKR to act. Your gerakan should now become retakkan.

  61. Why is this former “begger” speaking out now? Is it because Gerakan members have called for his resignation from the party and “Advisor” role following Lee Kah Choon’s resignation? His call for Lee to be punished and that triggered his resignation.

  62. Well LKY is trying to be a goodie man cuz he knows PR will take over the Govt soon n hope by being a goodie guy n shooting back at UMNO he can get off lightly from his bad n evil deals…simple as that.

But the biggest question here is whether PR can really form the new Govt n rid the country of all evils rules

  63. Such “mendicant”(MIC. MCA, GERAKAN, etc)has no one, even UMNO to be blame except themselves. They enriched themselves for many years until retirement or intra-power-tussle that leads to their own downfall and start pointing fingers….Such hypocrites deserves no sympathy AT ALL. Better late than never hardly applies here.

  64. when he was minister and enjoying the perks and his gerakan in power, he dare not say a word.Lots to loose mah. Now that he and gerakan are not in power, he suddenly got the balls to say this.

    Boleh piiiilah!!!

  65. “Why had Keng Yaik been so blind that he was blissfully unaware for more than two decades that he had been a “beggar Minister” for 22 years, with the scales coming out of his eyes only after the March 8 “political tsunami”?”

    Fools!

  66. Aiyah…Rakyat believed that the local beggars have better moral and honest than the ex-Minister who said “Position of BN component parties like beggars”.

Don’t deceived the smart Rakyat by LKY’s bad saliva statement and his confession in the media to seek sympathy? Samy, Ling and Lim KY are super RICH pensioners and enjoyed RICH closed negotiated tenders and contracts with their masters for past 22 years in power. Who is the real beggar today? ex BN Ministers or poor Malaysians… read and see the photos of Sabahan students and teachers are marginalised and mistreated by their state and fed governments in education allocations to them. PEANUTS !!

Beggars are not corrupt, no cronies or no nepotism in their beggar communities unlike some greed ex-MPs. What a shameful confession by LKY here?

Today new and old MPs from Sabah cried Sabahans have been victimised and marginalized by Ketuanan BN here. It is pity that Sabahan students and teachers do not have basis tables and chairs for their education facilities after 50 years Merdeka in Malaysia. Why the BN government wasted RM35 million for a stupid Angkasawan programme when Sabahans students and teachers are deprived from their education rights in Malaysia.

Shame on Education Minister who has been sleeping in his jobs and also begging for forgiveness for his Hang Tuah actions caused BN to lost. Bravo!!

Rakyat Malaysians must UNITE with Pakatan Rakyat to protect people rights and wealth, in order to avoid billions ringgit wasted or corrupted by greedy politician leaders. Otherwise, all Malaysians become beggars in own country due to corrupt and greedy leaders to bankrupt Malaysia.

VOTE FOR CHANGE .VOTE PR… Forever Now !!

    Long Live Anak Malaysia

  67. “When did Keng Yaik discover that he had been a “beggar Minister” for 22 years? After his political retirement and the March 8 political tsunami?”

    Chief beggar minister from Gerakan.

  68. What are you dragging? Undergrad2

I am dreadful of you, knowing that you will read every line and every word I wrote. I have to drag my feet to come here because of you. Thank you for pointing out my Ahbeng English. I will be the first to enrol in your English class when you set up business in Kg Attap.

  69. At least he has the guts to claim that statement, Beggar Minister. It’s not too late for him to realized and the rest of Gerakan members. Maybe they should seriously consider jump into another boat, otherwise for them to win Penang back will be “A Dream on”

I agree with the rest of you, he should speak less and go somewhere secluded and retire quietly.

  70. Kit,

It is not that LKY had been so blind that he was blissfully unaware for more than two decades that he had been a “beggar Minister” for 22 years. I believe he knew of the “beggar” problem at a very very early stage (even men on the street knew of the “beggar” problem). However, being well fed and well looked after by his boss (UMNO) and enjoying all the “goodies” of a Minister, he was not interested in voicing out his concern and taking corrective actions. Would a high staff challenge his boss to get himself (the staff) fired?

The electorate must be warned of errant, unscrupulous, selfish politicians who only know how to take care of their own interest but not the problems of the people.

  71. The awakening beggar under Umnokurap’s control.
Umnokurap destroyed the future of their fellow component parties.
Umnokurap raised them up like a spoiled child.
Today, they fought back and hunger for more.
Umnokurap is on the verse of bankrupt and their partners are beginning to split-up and becomes beggars.
Now, this beggars are knocking at the doorstep of PR.
They starts bad-mouth their strained relationship.
It is up to the PR council to decide whether to admit them into PR coalition.

  72. Hahaha… LKY is such a buffon. What he is displaying now is another trade of his “beggarhood”. admitting to be a beggar by continuing to beg for the rakyat’s understanding and forgiveness… HAHAHA What a joke! Nevertheless, since u have begged, we the rakyat will be forgiving provided that you cough out every single ringgit that you have taken from the rakyat and expose the evil deeds of the “Bo Nao” (No Brain) gavemen during your 22 yrs office. I long to see a Malaysia that is fair to all and the people no longer haf to worry about inflation (Why must we when we can grow our own rice, the source that moves our physical body, and we can produce our own fuel, the source that moves the economy).

  73. The real culprits are the voters, who for unknown ‘fear factor’ reason or selfish reason, kept voting for BN election after election, despite the fact that they and the politicians knew that BN is just a bunch of ball-less lame non-Malay politicians (serfs) under the complete control of and bullied by arrogant, racist, self-enriching, and corrupt Umnoputras.

LKY warned that parties like Umno, MCA and MIC would have to dissolve if they failed to adopt a multi-racial approach.

Poor thing! Had LKY regularly read the comments posted in this LKS’s blog since day one, he would have been enlightened much earlier and got the wisdom of the many commentators who wrote that race-based political parties in Malaysia are irrelevant and the curse to national unity.

It’s not too late for Gerakan, MCA, MIC, and other non-Umno BN component political parties to pull out of the BN. Let Umno = BN and see if Umno can form the Federal Government on its own.

  74. It is disgusting to hear LKY make such a statement only after leaving office. LKY knew full well that if he made such a comment while still in office, the Chinese community would hold him responsible and pressure him to bargain with UMNO. By so doing, he risked losing his ministerial job and the “goodies” that went with the post.

He made very sure that he would only speak after he had stocked up enough wealth and after he had retired!

  75. And you think UMNO cares even if this “beggar ex minister” makes this revelation? Pak Lah indirectly said in public a few days ago that UMNO actually did ok in the GE, insinuating that BN’s loss of two third in Parliament was caused by the non UMNO members of the BN, not because UMNO treated their partners like dirt.

LOng before this I had started calling the MCA “eunuchs” and told them not to practise appeasement politics, which in history has proven to be disastrous time and again. If UMNO can do things that can damage your party in public then by all means tell them off in public as well. Not the same old rubbish of settling things behind closed doors.

  76. MCA, Gerakan and MIC do not even live up to their self-denigrated status of “beggars”.
A beggar begs for himself and may be his family as well. His accomplishment can be measured on a daily basis, based on his “collection” at the end of each day.
After 50 years, MCA, Gerakan and MIC, having awaken from their long slumber as beggars, still have no alms in their open palms to show to their communities. MCA and Gerakan had consistently failed to convey the aspirations and concerns of the Chinese community to UMNO. They hide their cowardice behind the smoke-screen “we will do it the BN way, we discuss behind closed doors.” When did they ever disclose to us the end result of their “behind closed door” meetings? NEVER.
If they had admitted to us that they are politically impotent to fight for our rights and that they may have to represent us to “beg” for our rights from UMNO, we would have admired their guts and respect their sacrifice for the good of the communities. But they lied to us all along, pretending that they can defend and advance our community’s rights.
We knew they were beggars, but they denied it. Only when the “chain of self interests” which bound the corrupt politicians together had been broken (by virtue of the fact that the leaders of MCA. Gerakan and MIC are no longer in the Govt), they finally located their conscience and started to tell the truth.
I have a close friend who is a veteran of Gerakan. He used to brim with pride for being a Gerakan member. He holds the strong belief that Gerakan Ministers and Govt officials are not corrupt. I argued with him that corruption does not mean one has to steal from the country or Rakyat to be corrupt. If Gerakan, which is part of the BN Govt, stands idle and watch the UMNOputras and cronies stealing the country blind, then Gerakan is as corrupt as UMNO because it is abetting UMNO in these corrupt activities. He agreed with me.
After the 8 Mar GE, I asked how he felt since Gerakan had been totally wiped out from Penang. His reply stunned me. “I am very HAPPY, Gerakan may have lost but the Rakyat won.” he exclaimed.
Lim Guan Eng had just uncovered the massive fraudulent land deal relating to the PGCC. Koh Tsu Koon may not be corrupt per se, but he facilitated the UMNOputras and cronies
in reaping “windfall profits” at the expense of the State Govt and the Rakyat. If LGE’s allegations turn out to be true, then Gerakan would be totally uprooted from Penang.
I do not mean to denigrate or show disrespect to KTK but rather to assist him in doing a self “mystic” evaluation. Anyone with a rudimentary understanding of face-reading can tell that KTK has the face of a scholar (??) and not that of a high Govt official (???)?When one career is not congruent with the dictates of destiny, the end result will be disappoint

  77. Keng Yaik, what a pitiful spectacle you have made out of yrself and BN component parties – all those past bravadoes now giving way to confessions of dripping hypocrisy. AT least, you are courageous and honest even though it’s somewhat of a Johnny-come-lately confession of what EVERYBODY had known all along.

Sad thing also for Tun M. It’s another slap on his face. This fella doesn’t desrve his Tun-ship for all the wrecks, mishaps and mess he’s caused, if you ask for my honest opinion. But it’s only my opinion. Anyone concurs?

  78. YB LKS,

Just read that your DAP ADUN for Jelapang, Ms Hee Yit Foong, is on shaky ground and may cross over to either MCA or Gerakan very soon becuz she was not happy to be left out of the EXCO list. What is all this rubbish? Is this true? Can you confirm her position?

Seems your SAs in Perak is very open to such moves n all like to merajuk…starting from PK Foong, then Sivasubramaniam and now rumours of Ms Hee….Ai yoh…dun take us Rakyat to be fools lah.

We are looking at great chances of PR becoming the next Govt in the very near future but here we have merajuk SAs trying to show her popularity…please sir, she won becuz she is on the Opposition ticket not on her own popularity ok?

Pls say something so we Rakyat can have less stress of such a stupid move….Thank you.

  79. Many thanks for your belated admission, beggar minister. So that is what the coolie fellows of MIC were doing behind the rubber trees! Lim Keng Yaik thought they were fornicating, not tapping. All of us were wrong – they were begging! Nothing wrong for a Malaysian from a Malaysian valiantly to beg, but bloody fools, use a very large bowl will you?

  80. Oh no! When we came out to support and voted in DAP/Pakatan Rakyat, we did not expect to them to be the convenient receptacle for MCA, Gerakan and MIC trash did we? If we had wanted them we would have voted BN didn’t we? If this trend is allowed to continue, soon PR will be no different from BN eh?

  81. Mr Keng Yaik now ‘realised’ that he and his BN component fellas have been beggars?
What open his eyes now to see the realities which the Rakyat have been enduring this sorry state of affairs for the past 50 years of UMNO hegemony?
This is totally a whimper’s excuse to complain too late after 22 years of begging. Before no BN component beggar would dare to complain this shits!

Mr Keng Yaik and the likes of him beggars, I believe are not beggars in the true sense, if it were, why got their sons to be beggars as well? Who in their right mind would want to be beggars if he knows it is a hopeless situation to beg and worse to be treated as 2nd class for life.

What about being a ‘berbuat’ beggar with all the ‘kangtau’ to ensure a good life post beggar politics? A real life beggar on the street can only dream of this.

You think the Rakyat will appreciate this beggar story which you, Mr.Keng Yaik has to endure for 22 years for the Rakyat? The Rakyat are no fools not to see beyond this hopeless ‘act’ of voluntary begging on behalf of the Rakyat, who in the end will benefit nothing except the BN berbuat beggars themselves who will be better off than the Rakyat!

We Rakyat don’t need to BEG! BN HAS TO BEG TO STAY RELEVANT!

  82. This orong tua ah Pek Lim Kheng Yaik, now is brave to said BN HAVE no equal right to other race, during his time as ministers, he said nothing, too late for now to said after GERAKAN hapus in Penang, As a reader you must brave to openly talk, and not to talk after you retired, people won’t listen anymore

  83. Ah Pek just want to redeem himself. Try to be a hero now. Afraid that we all forget him. Still want his photo in MSM. He should spend his time & millions (or billions?) learning how to speak properly (in all languages) in the university that he holds as Chancellor. I certainly won’t send my kids there! May come back & talk like him…scary.

We all know who are the true heroes of democracy – DAP. Whatever Ah Pek says now don’t matter. We all know who are the super rich beggars in BN.

  84. Anotehr disgrace to the surname Lim,and i dont care, blxxdy idiot you can call me , stupid too if you wish, but i was already in pension years and enjoying myslef that 22 years and now even better and off course more relief.

Of course i stash doe for more years , you think the world is free wake up lah.

  85. Ha ha ha. Now we can be proud that Malaysia got Richest Beggar & Richest Unemployed. Probably in the world. Someone should call Guiness Book of Records.

Oh ya, we also got Six Million Dollar Man.

So, who can be Darth Vader & Yoda? We all know who can be Chewbacca…that BN-MP from Sabah, only a bit short.

Cool, we got an entire Star Wars saga characters in our parliament…someone call George Lucas.

I say YAB LKS = Obi Wan. Tony Pua = Luke Skywalker.

Hope to bring some comic relief…this political blog manyak tension.

  86. i still remember 12 years ago my gradution for diploma course at syuen hotel ipoh..the yb shake my hand and everyone told me he strong and giant minister…today,i just know he only begger..that mean all people under him also begger..

  87. One fine day, after over 2 decades, Dr.LKY woke up & start to talk a bit of sense…or is it that he just realised after 2 decades what was really going on…when the rakyat knew about it all the time??? Wow, this means he beats PM AAB record for being the slumber king.
