Hari Raya this year coincides with the nation’s 50th Merdeka anniversary.
Celebrating this year’s Hari Raya on the occasion of the nation’s 50th Merdeka anniversary will be most meaningful if there is a national resolution and government political will to achieve four things:
- A low-crime Malaysia where everyone, whether citizen, tourist or investor can feel safe again in the streets, public places and the privacy of the homes and where the fundamental rights to be free from crime and fear of crime are not just empty and meaningful words.
- Zero tolerance for corruption, abuses of power and financial scandals.
- Restore national and international confidence in a truly independent judiciary and a just rule of law, which will go a long way to enhance Malaysia’s international competitiveness which has suffered considerable erosion in recent years; and
- A Malaysian national consciousness and identity transcending racial, religious or political differences.
Selamat Hari Raya to all Muslims in Malaysia.
sorry…nobody can hear you…
hearing level of late is ZERO, of course

Is it possible to even achieve half that????
Anyway Selamat Hari Raya to all Muslims in Malaysia.
Selamat Hari Raya to all Muslims in Malaysia and around the world.
Let’s make the Malaysia and the world, a better place to live.
Selamat Hari Raya to all.
Selamat Hari Raya to All!
Keep hoping, keep dreaming, and keep praying for the four stated mirage-like things.
The day we achieve them is the day Umno becomes irrelevant. So how can Umno achieve them to knock the nail into its own coffin?
Come next year, we will still making the same wishes and people will still vote overwhelmingly for Umno to lead BN. Things don’t change. We just go in circles, chanting our complaints but doing nothing spectacular.
Just look at our King Zakaria – less than a year after all the noises against him, he is exhibiting his completed palace. A true heart-warming success story of NEP that assisted a former railway gate-keeper to rise spectacularly like the Russian space craft to a powerful emperor.
Prayer delivered by Minister Joe Wright at the opening session of the Kansas State Senate.
“Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, ‘Woe to those who call evil good,’ but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from Every sin and set us free.
Amen !”
SELAMAT HARI RAYA
Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri ….
Maaf Zahir dan Batin ….
YBLim,
Tell me you are not dreaming the impossible dream.I have to give myself a pinch to make sure I am not reading wrongly. Then again you could be.Yours has been a long journey and your enthusiasm in trying to make Malaysia a better place has been admirable.
To me your wish for those 4 things cannot and may never be fulfilled fundamentally because of human greed. This material greed has always been there even in Tunku’s time but this has picked up speed during the long reign of that mamak that it has now become unstoppable. All institutions of this country is not functioning — the Police, ACA,AG’s chamber, the Judiciary etc, etc, etc.
For citizens’ rights to be safeguarded, you must have 3 things going:
(1) The 3 pillars of government Executive, Legislature and the Judiciary must act independently of one another. That mamak has shackled the judiciary and has made it subservient to
the Executive.
(2) Free Press must exist.Again that mamak has muzzled and gagged the press by bringing in more repressive laws on top of that dragonian ISA.
(3) Government in waiting. None and never has one ever existed.
This is the reality check.Sure you now have Jeff Ooi,Tony Pua and Dr. Cheah joining the ranks. These are computer savvy netizens and they will made significant inroads in the urban centres but the most important area really is the Malay heartland which you have not been able to penetrate shall i say since day 1. Again that mamak guy has done a lot of damage in his 22 years reign by doing a lot of gerrymandering. Plus also the postal votes.RPK argues persuasively that all oppositon parties should boycott GE until reforms are made in the electoral system for without that the odds stacked against oppositon parties are so huge that the opposition can never hope to win.Powerful argument and difficult to ignore.
Cheers and Happy Hari Raya to all Muslim Malaysians.
Selamat Hari Raya to all Muslims in Malaysia. Drive safe for the sake of loved ones.
In this Holy period, always choose good over evil. Always voice your objections to discrimination and injustice. Don’t be mute, like the Mute Chinese Association and the Mute Indian Congress.
corrections:(1)’All institutions of this country are not functioning- the Police,ACA,AG’s chamber, the Judiciary etc, etc, etc.’
(2)’………….and they will make significant inroads in the urban areas but ……………………’.
Selamat Hari Raya to all the Muslims in Malaysia and abroad…while we celebrate just hope the UMNOputras will ponder on ways to make this country a truly beautiful place for all her citizens on an equal platform.
stupid boleh mentality can never achieve that, but look across the causeway, they’ve nearly achieved it all.
Selamat Hari Raya Malaysians.

hope malaysia will having a better tomorow and continuing grow for beneficial to all malysian, anyway i would like to say SELAMAT HARI RAYA to all muslim in the world.
Yes, free press is equally important too.
Currently all the so-called main stream media are mouth-piece of the ruling regime.
The media must be freed!
All Malaysians must have the rights to know what went wrong and what went right!
Malaysians suffered from an inferiority complex and had “a habit of claiming things which are not theirs”. How very true

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri to all Muslim brothers and sisters. Let’s celebrate this great occasion as Malaysians
The highlights of Abdullah’s rule
http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Southeast_Asia/IJ13Ae01.html
…a by-election in the small town of Ijok, in which Abdullah’s government spent some RM100 million to narrowly defeat the opposition Justice Party; a landmark court decision in which a woman was not allowed to renounce Islam and declare herself with a religion of her own choosing; a case where members of Abdullah’s United Malays National Organization used the party’s annual assembly to threaten Malaysia’s minority communities; UMNO officials’ intimidation of bloggers for exposing government malpractice; a senior police official and the director general of the anti-corruption agency faced allegations of accepting bribes; a political analyst and security guards with close links to Najib stood trial for murder; and, of course, the damning revelations of the Lingam tape.
k1980,
And it will go on and on and on………….till Malaysia is run to the ground or till thy kingdom come.
The only reason that these goons can do what they do is simply because those 3 things I mentioned above are not going!!!
My wishes to all true honest peaceful Muslims: Selamat Hari Raya Adilfitri.
42% pay hike still ain’t no enuff, he wanna have some more, so….
http://malaysia-today.net/blog2006/beritankom.php?itemid=9019
what is 42% pay hike , every thing is going up come 2008 with road toll and petrol. Crime rate will definitely go up.
Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri to all Muslim brothers and sisters. Let’s celebrate this great occasion as Malaysians
Malaysia under AAB is like a ship in sea having a death engine and the captain is fast asleep!
Quote – Lou Zi from Bolehland
Eid is thanks giving – much like the Thanksgiving Day as celebrated by Americans, and more.
So happy thanksgiving!
It is a time when Malaysians should set aside political differences and political affiliations and renew their ties with one another as fellow human beings who want only peace and prosperity – and the desire to be left alone to pursue whatever they want to pursue, so long as they don’t pursue their neigbours’ wives for that would be against the Ten Commandments both in Islam and Christianity and Judaism.
Selamat Hari Raya to all Muslims in Malaysia! Let us take this timely opportunity to forgive one another for the load of racial prejudice that we carry since independence. Let us sink our differences as we have a common destiny in this beloved land. Let us not be divided by the politics of this land and strive to build a better Malaysia for all Malaysians. Let us vote for a right, just and effective government and political leaders who have a heart for all Malaysians!
Do we have the guts, knowledge, first world mentality and maturity to have a civilised debate like in World Debate chaired by Tim Sebastian on India in New York? Can we have YB, Dr Azly and Sisters in Islam (rep) on 1 side and KJ, Kerimuddin and APridah/Zarina on the other side in New York/London?
“Let us vote for a right, just and effective government ……”.firstMalaysian.
How could it be possible, I’ll like to know?
bystander,
The very mention of Tim Sebastian will scare the shit of them!! But then again why you give so much credit to these Jaguh Kampungs to think that Tim would not mind crossing sword with them.Tim’s wit will not only not be sharpened talking to these bunch of nimcompoops but may be blunted to such an extent his own reputation is gone!
To achieve the stated four things, we have to bring changes to our current political scenario and governance.
Drastic actions have to be taken to deny BN 2/3 majority in the next parliament, so as to, hopefully, extract certain amount of accountability and responsiblity from our government and civil servants.
There are already lots of obviously wrong happenings in Malaysia and lots of stupid statements from the mouths of our ministers. Perhaps someone or some organization can come out with an entertaining skit that bares the wrong happenings and reminds people the stupid statements uttered by our ministers, tape the skit, make the skit into VCD, and distribute it nationwide to people. Hopefully, voters are able to see the filth, corruption, stupidity, and self-enriching actions/intentions of our current BN representatives, and vote wisely in the next GE.
We are no different than Myanmar. As happened recently, a peaceful assembly organized by the opposition was not allowed and ordinary people gathered there to listen to speeches were shot at and they were not shot with rubber bullets!
To face Tim, you either have to have substance or you will look very stupid if the debate is not orchestrated. Nobody in UMNO has the substance or guts to face Tim because they will be their real selves looking stupid.
Patriotism cannot be forced.
See the people around… see how many % of flag flyers are non-Malays.
Why are they not flying the Jalur Gemilang???
Ask yourself why – deep in your heart…… you know the answer.
